Maui fresh bowl with tofu at the riverfront with Leveque Tower in the background

We are blessed with some amazing, unique and tasty food trucks in Columbus - but Aloha Aina's take on Hawaiian street food is my favorite by far. I've loved them since they were Aloha Streatery and the new look and feel only upped their game. Their rice bowls are delicious, fresh and healthy with flavors you just can't find elsewhere. My favorite is the Maui fresh bowl with tofu and cilantro, but I usually have them add pineapple (which comes in their other bowl but not this one) for a perfect finishing touch. Their potstickers and buns are wonderful too, but the rice bowl has my heart. The staff are friendly and efficient; the line moves fast. Anytime you see this food truck, treat yourself to a taste of the islands! You won't regret it.

I went to the German Village Makers Market one weekend and happen to see Aloha Aina as an food truck option. I got the Pineapple buns with Island Chicken. The whole bun is pipping hot and it have quite a flavor profile. The bun is super crispy, along with the juicy fried chicken and a hint of sourness from the pineapple. It filled me up very quickly. Need time I need to try out their rice bowl.

So we started food truck Saturdays with the fam where we check out food trucks in cbus. On today's menu was Aloha Aina, a Hawaiian inspired food truck that sells a sweet fried bun from my childhood whose name I can't remember. Inside the bun was kalua pork and pineapples (which goes on everything even pizza, ok). It was well balanced but I think the portion sizes were a little small for a growing boy like me ;). If there was anything to improve on, I would say that the buns were a little too oily for my liking. Totally understand how hard it is to fry those perfectly since breads just soaks up oil so kudos to them for an outstanding attempt at that!

Aloha Aina is a unique food truck that everyone needs to try when in Columbus. Not only do they serve Hawaiian buns but the food is very uniquely distinctive which you will not find anywhere else in town. I have tried them on several occasions once during Columbus food festival and more recently on a Friday evening at Seven Sons Brewery. What's not to like sweet pillowy buns deep fried and than served with pork and drizzled with sauces. The owner and staff are really warm and friendly. They work hard and keep customers smiling. Everything we tried was amazing. Must visit on your next trip to Cbus!!

So good! I've been several times and have always enjoyed the food. It's a nice change from what I eat on a day to day basis. So much flavor and very filling. I think at least recently, you have to order on your phone. There was a QR code that could be scanned and the menu popped up very easily. Food was prepared quickly and I got a text message when I could pick it up. I always end up ordering most of the menu because everything is so good and I can't pick just one. So I usually get a rice bowl, a pork bun, and the potstickers...I only sometimes share :) --favorite bun: Hawaiian --favorite bowl: maui fresh rice bowl w/ tofu --pork potstickers

I was able to get one of their main dishes, the Loco No Moco Rice Bowl -- delicious. I got it with island chicken, which I really enjoyed because it had larger pieces of meat that were able to absorb cilantro sauce. The pineapple really brings out the taste in that meat + sauce combo. Would come back again (as I previously said in my last review)!

On warm summer days, sometimes all you want is some Hawaiian street food and a beer from Seventh Son. This is one of my favorite food trucks in Columbus. The pic below is the Maui Fresh Rice Bowl with chicken & cilantro sauce. I really love the cilantro sauce and you can mix or match the sauces on different bowls. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is that they run out of popular items quickly (love the Polynesian fries: are really yummy but have only had them once). I like that they park at Seventh son regularly too because I can grab some good food and a cold beer while sitting out in the patio area. Overall give this a try. Definitely a unique food truck in the Cbus area.

Went to Seventh Son Friday night around 9PM and was so happy there was a food truck here. The food truck closes at 9:30 so we made it just in time. I got the Grilled Chicken Loco No Moco Rice Bowl (10$) and my friend got the Grilled Chicken Maui Fresh Rice Bowl (10$.) The chicken was pretty good! The Maui fresh was good. The veggies with the sauce worked well together! The Loco No Moco Rice Bowl was good too! The rice was good and everything worked well together. The pineapple was refreshing but next time I will personally get a little less pineapples lol. Food was perfectly filling and then we got some beers after!

I got the chance to try Aloha Aina's food at an event they calaborated with the new space that's set to house Palma's Tropical Escape when they open. This Hawaiian luau themed event involved Aloha Aina's food, buffet style. First off, hat off to Sara exudes personality, and it was a pleasure chatting with her about her food truck, and their plans for the future. Can I just give a sincere shout out to the pulled pork! It was incredibly tender and juicy; pillow soft. I actually loved the fried spam, too. I didn't think it was outrageously salty, no more than your regular run-of-the-mill supermarket smoked sausage (Hillshire, Eckrege, etc.). Tasty potstickers, and their macaroni salad? Love the potato chunks included in the mix - added to the subtle flavor (I don't like pasta salads that load on the dressing; if you can't showcase without loading on some liquid sauce concoction, then you probably need to go back to the drawing board, imo). Topping off the evening was Aloha Aina's dessert, Haupia, a cold coconut custard that's well known to the Hawaiian culture. Subtle, refreshing, anvery good. And. Very. Addictive.

Delicious quick lunch to grab! Highly recommend. You cant go wrong with delicious Hawaiian Fried chicken paired with the perfect lightly sweet sauce with rice. The char siu plate is also delicious and subtle flavor. We also tried the garlic shrimp plate and it was perfect!

Awww I love this food truck! I am always tracking it on Street Food Finder. They often park in front of Germania on Front Street which is close to my work so I have been there a couple of times. When you think of a food truck, fresh food isn't always what comes to mind. This truck is definitely an exception - their food is always fresh! It is also pretty healthy! They have a lot of different options and everything is very good. I have tried the fresh rice bowl, the pineapple bun and the Hawaiian BBQ bun and enjoyed them all. Service is quick and prices are appropriate for the quality and quantity of food being purchased. I am glad they exist and look forward to the next when I see them in my hood!

I had heard great things about the Aloha Aina food truck. So I searched and found it was going to be parked at Seventh Son on Friday night. After reading some reviews that stated that they run out of menu items due to popularity. I decided to per order on streetfoodfinder.com prior to even going to Seventh Son. I ordered the Loco No Moco Rice Dish ($8.50) which consists of a choice of protein, fresh pineapple chunks, cilantro sauce topped with fresh cilantro on a bed of steamed rice. I choose chicken. My fiance ordered the Maui Fresh Rice Bowl ($9) which consists of a choice of protein, fresh cucumbers, quick-pickled carrots drizzled with sriracha mayo & sweet soy sauce. Topped with fried shallots. He also choose chicken with no sriracha mayo due to his egg allergy. I also could not resist ordering the Pork Potstickers (6 for $5) stuffed with pork and cabbage and fried, drizzled with sweet soy sauce. Our order was ready when we arrived and the workers seemed so happy that we had searched them out to try their food. They guaranteed that this would be the first of many times that we would seek out their food truck. We ended up taking our meal home to enjoy it on the couch while drinking free beer from home. We were both pleased with our dinner. My biggest take away from my chicken rice dish was that the pineapple and cilantro seemed as fresh and as fragrant as can be. The rice was nice and sticky which is how I would like it. I would definitely seek out this food truck again. The prices were right, the people were friendly, and the food was fresh. That is a winning combo if you ask me.

Pretty standard menu, but it all looks good. And it all was good. I got a birria eggroll, some esquites, and a pastor torta. The torta was absolutely excellent. Great bread, great meat, fresh veggies. A combination of flavors and textures that was just right. I wasn't even super hungry and polished off the whole thing, and it was pretty big. The equitos were very good. You can also get elotes. The birria eggroll was also very good. A very good eggroll, and very good birria, and a cup of consommé on the side. To me the two don't really go together well, but it's a fad now. There has to be birria in everything. The wrapper was great and fried up perfectly, the meat was tender and tasty. It does work, don't get me wrong, but it's really pushing the eggroll boundaries for me. I also got a horchata. Cold and sweet and huge. Service was friendly and quick. Prices are good. I will definitely be back. Notes: oddly, even though it has Machete in the name, those are not on the menu. I didn't ask, but I'm sure they can make them. And the credit card machine and their social media point to a restaurant with a different name, Los Catrines Antojitos Mexicanos. So I don't know if this is connected to the Machete in Obetz, or is it its own thing and they've just changed the name of the restaurant, or what.
