I found this place on Yelp, started scrolling through the pictures, and immediately knew we had found our spot. Parking was a little sparse, but we lucked into a spot. Inside, the restaurant is super cute, bright, clean and really well decorated. The ladies at the counter were also incredibly friendly and helpful with suggestions for us first-timers. Between the three of us, we ordered several different street tacos so we could try a little bit of everything. They were all good, but the unanimous winner was the quesabirria taco. MY GOODNESS. Absolute perfection. Seriously, one of those bites where everyone at the table immediately looks at each other like, "Yep. THAT'S the one." We also tried the chips and salsa and the elote, and both were incredibly delicious. Customer service is superior. We of course saw a TikTok about the viral soft serve margarita and HAD to give it a try. They were extremely, extremely busy but moved the line quickly and efficiently. I randomly came across this food truck (on a Tuesday, it was fate) and the birria tacos instantly made my day better. Service was super friendly, I got my order quickly, and the food was full of all the right flavors. I think they just opened a permanent location, or so Facebook keeps telling me, so I'm excited to go back and see what that's like! Okay service was excellent. They are super busy and the food comes out hot and fast. Workers are very friendly. Casual and bright dining area. I have had high hopes for AJs for years. I never tried them at the food truck but was excited to hear about the brick and mortar location. I was driving by and decided to stop. The bad of this is : while the meat is tender and the consume is not too oily - it all lacks spice. I kept eating unsure if it was a build up of spice but that's not the case. As we sip away, ordered some Shrimp Taco and Birria Ramen from AJ's Taco. Flavor is always on point for the Shrimp Taco. If you having the Birria Ramen on the spot, make sure to give it a good mix from the bottom. Cause all the tender braised beef is hidden below. First time trying this place after seeing many people raving on IG. Drove from the far eastside of town fot it. Went around 3:30pm on a Thursday. Only a few people there but it was clear after we ordered and while waiting for our food, how much people were flocking to the place. By the time we left, lot was packed. Got our food about 10 mins later. Let me tell you, this was everything! Food was fresh, broth was warm and delicious. Order the regular taco birria and sliders birria... dont sleep on the sliders. This is an update to my previous review and I think its a solid 5 stars. The cool thing about this truck is the menu. Not only do they serve birria every day, they offer multiple different items. Each one its own unique take on birria. They also offer chicken and beef which is great, it gives an option for everyone. I would like to personally nominate then to come up with a vegan version. I have had a lot of people ask me about it. I think it's possible, I just haven't seen it on a menu yet. Ok enough of all that, let's talk birria. Some of yall know I'm the self proclaimed expert in Columbus so here's what I think. AJs is outstanding. Surprisingly enough the tacos/quesabirria are not my favorite. I've had a lot of them, tons , but these are not my #1. They are good, but I'm loving their birria cousins/other menu items even more. The birria Esquite is the freaking bomb! Talk about flavor explosion in my mouth...yes please. And I don't even like mayo. But this dish is top notch. Best way I can describe it is Elote in a cup. But add in some flavorful birria and Consomè. Trust me, do not leave this food truck without a cup o corn in hand!!!! Then the nachos....oh my....how is it possible for food to taste this good. Seriously. They are so good!!! If you haven't had birria at all yet, this is a good place to start. Let start off by saying that Aj's Birria Tacos is by far the coolest food truck I have ever been to! We drove all the way from Dublin for it. The food was spectacular at a reasonable price and so unique. They specialize in birria which is a stewed meat. And I have to be honest - we ordered A LOT for just two people. Our order consisted of birria ramen, 4 birria tacos with the cheese shells (they come with a soup to dip the taco in), and a birria torta. It was mouthwatering and just writing this review has me planning my next trip to AJ's! The ramen was so unique and one of the best fusion dishes I've had in a very long time. The cheese shell really added to the tacos, with the Birria being so soft and tender and the side soup as the finishing touch. Awesome service like always. Today I went around 1 for lunch and grabbed the nachos with beef and a chicken torta. The chips alone that they used were perfect, you can tell they make them fresh daily. The beef was super soft and full of flavorful (not annoyingly chewy). The rest of the ingredients they put on top of the nachos were fresh and had plenty of flavor and the amount of chips to topping ratio was perfect. I also got the chicken torta which I've had a few times. The chicken is great, fresh avocado slices and the bread they put it on is great. Not to soft, not to hard and holds everything in nicely. I'm pretty sure they dip the bread in the broth before toasting it which gives it even more delicious flavor. Can't wait to go back and try more! read more

AJs other tacos such as the steak&shrimp taco are also excellent. When I get tacos, I order them cali style which includes a big dollop of fresh home made guacamole along with some pico. AJs is in the "Keg" bar's parking lot on West Broad street and the folks in the Keg are used to AJs customers bringing their food into the bar and ordering a drink to go with the food.
