    Burrito Loco
    Marissa C.

We came across the Machete Taqueria food truck at an event. They had a nice variety of choices on their menu: burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, quesadillas, nachos, gorditas, taquitos, tortas, tostadas, and more, plus plenty of side selections to accompany the mains - chips and dips, rice, fries, beans, plus churros for dessert. We ended up opting for the Burrito Loco, a nicely sized burrito filled with asada, al pastor, chorizo combo with rice, beans, pico de gallo, corn salsa, lettuce, cheese, sour cream. It was very good! Service was friendly and efficient.

Discovered their food truck at Columbus Taco Fest! There was a long line and it was hot that day, but worth it! I ordered the birria tacos with consome along with chorizo, shrimp, and chicken tacos. It came out in a decent amount of time and was HOT, just the way I like it. Their birria tacos are crisp enough and when you dip it in the meaty consome, I about cried! Highly recommend!! The other tacos were good too, but I'd go just for the birria!

I ordered the birria tacos. You get 3 for $10. They were hot, cheesy, & tasty. They have Spanish speaking (bilingual) workers which is a plus! There was a consistent flow of customers arriving & ordering. That says a lot about this food truck...folks like it here. There's even a nice seating set up outside the food truck to dine if you want. Some people were doing just that. The truck says Worthington, OH but they are located on S. High St.

This is my favorite Taqueria in the Columbus area! Their chorizo burrito bowl is my go to. It never disappoints!

I've never been a taco fan. But their crispy tacos are the best! All their food has been great. Recommend highly

I sit at the bar and I'm greeted by something I've never had ever...chips served with 2 red salsas, a verde salsa and bean dip! Usually you just get chips, a small bowl and a carafe of salsa, help yourself. This set the tone that this would be different than usual. I ordered steak fajita nachos and a Modelo Negra. I powered thru the chips and bean dip like it was my job. And it didn't disappoint. Really fresh and flavorful. Nachos are nachos, right? Wrong. How they are assembled has everything to do with their mouth feel as they cool down. I've had nachos that come out looking amazing but as they cool, turn into a disappointing chuck of chips held together by shredded cheese cement. These stayed loose with crunchy bites of peppers and onions, and the cheese sauce coated instead of becoming cement-like. I always order the same thing when trying a New Mexican spot. If the nachos are good, chances are everything is good! So I'll keep the almost 5 Star steak going. I agree, some of the best Mexican food in Columbus.

It's just a bit far out of my way to get here often. Today I met Mike G. for Taco Tuesday, and it is a deal: $1.50 for ground beef or shredded chicken tacos, hard or soft tortillas, Mexican or American style toppings. I got three, two beef and one chicken, and was stuffed- without even eating many chips beforehand. Neither meat was heavily seasoned, but there are assorted sauces to add, or you can dip them in the standard salsa. My total bill, with a pop, was just under $9. $9! For a filling, semi-healthy lunch. The tacos are big, or what used to be standard sized, anyway, not the smaller street tacos you sometimes get. Amazing? Nah. But pretty good, and a heckuva deal. Service was great. Service and food have been very good on previous visits too, and I have no complaints. The usual huge menu of Mexican standards (which I forgot to take a picture of.) Plenty of parking, easy access, bright and lively inside.

I spend about $20 if I get a drink, two tacos, a tostada & chips + guacamole. Tacos are delicious & it's one of the few places you can get a tostada that is crunchy and flavorful. I order the birria soup, and it was good, I have no complains, but the burrito had a major downgrade, it lacked everything, it was big but flavor wise was so dull, same with the flautas not good at all. We order a taco at the end just to try to say we had an excuse to drive 30 minutes to eat here but it was just ok. The ambiance is about the same, small little family Mexican spot and you fell welcome. The tres leches was the best part of our meal so freaking good, and I don't even care about sweets.

El Tacoriendo - Columbus, OH…read more The building looks like the kind of spot you'd second-guess after dark--like pulling up to a Linden carryout when the streetlights flicker--but trust me, If you judge a taco by the tortilla (and honestly, you should), this place is worth checking out. I tried four different tacos, all excellent: * Asada - Tender and smoky, almost buttery in a warm corn tortilla that stayed together the whole time. * Suadero - Melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a gentle richness that made it feel almost luxurious compared to the usual grilled beef. Not greasy, just satisfying. * Cecina - Salty and deeply savory, the kind of flavor you keep thinking about later. * Barbacoa - Soft and shredded, perfect for soaking up lime juice. Each taco was loaded with fresh cilantro, chopped onions, grilled onions, and cucumber slices. Pricing & Portions * Tacos run about $3.50 each. * Even after skipping lunch, two were plenty to fill me up. * Extra salsas are $0.50 each, and worth it. Salsas * Green salsa: Mild, fresh, and bright. * Red salsa: A little kick without being too spicy. * Both were great together, but the meat was seasoned well enough to eat plain. Atmosphere & Service * Bright painted chairs and colorful walls give it a casual, welcoming feel. * The dining room has plenty of space between tables and a laid-back vibe. * My takeout order was packed neatly in sturdy containers and ready in about 10 minutes. * Staff were friendly and patient when I had questions about the menu. ‍ Final Take If you're tired of tacos that taste mass-produced, this spot will feel like a small revelation. After a 4/4 win, I'm already planning to come back to try some of their more unique proteins (like lengua, buche, or tripe). Consider this your sign to give them a shot. 5/5 - Come hungry, leave happy, and maybe start debating what to order next before you even get back to your car.
