We had delicious breakfasts and a dinner at Ravens during our 4 night stay at Stanford Inn. While I'm not a vegan, I enjoyed the Cesar salad, guacamole and fresh fruit. Waitstaff are all so gracious and friendly.

This is lovely restaurant in an elegant beautiful hotel with view of the sea. We were celebrating our anniversary and was a perfect choice for that. Service was very good, prompt but not overbearing, with enough knowledge to our many questions. Finally the food was delicious!! This is a vegan restaurant of great quality! The chef has also a great sense for food presentation ( we had a salad presentation as a tower). Highly recommended for a special occasion

Amazing vegan dishes. My husband and I loved everything we ordered. Will be coming back soon . The staff was so sweet .

The food was delicious, and the service was excellent and friendly! The ambiance was very elegant with wood and glass. Will definitely come again on our next visit.

The Ravens restaurant is a big reason why we always come back and visit Mendocino. Everything we have had at The Stanford Inn Resort by the Sea has been incredible and delicious. We had the raviolis, bruschetta, vegan caesar salad, banana split, guacamole and chips, taco plate, crème brûlée, stuffed mushrooms, raviolis and burrito, and chocolate tarte. All so good! instagram: jax.vegan.eats

We had breakfast here the other day. It was fabulous. Completely vegan and so fresh. Our dog was welcome in the dining area. There is a separate room if you don't want to have dogs around. The staff is very friendly. The other customers were all smiles. We had the Florentine. Everyone should try it. We have been here before and will come back again soon.

Good vegan restaurant in Mendocino. The views are amazing. We started with salad and soup. The salad was delicious and lightly dressed. The cream of cauliflower soup was too heavy with coconut milk flavor. My husband had the flatbread which he enjoyed. I had the raviolis which were good, but not great. We had a few bites of a chocolate mint tart which was rich and yummy.

I had great expectations for Ravens when I went here on a recent trip to Mendocino. The food here was average albeit all vegan. We got a Thai curry that was decent yet felt Thai Idea in SF does a better curry. We got the enchiladas that were good yet wish their hot sauce was made in house. The vegan carrot cake with vegan ice cream for dessert was probably the best thing we ordered and was tasty. I have a feeling the chef that was here is no longer here yet must say the service was great. I am giving it five stars because it was very cozy here with the wood burning fire place, resident cat, resident dog, and extensive vegan library.

It was so refreshing to see a vegan spot in this area!! The service was the standout, it was great and loved the cozy vibe of the place. The food was pretty good, loved the tortilla soup we had. Didn't love the pad thai, didn't have the most flavour. Also 10/10 spot if you love cats (only got a picture of one but there were at least 3)!

First of all, it's worth noting that for those that stick to a standard American diet, this food may be a departure. But that's what I love about it! You can tell the menu is created around health, longevity, balance, seasonality, and sustainability. My non-vegan husband and I found the food to be fresh, vibrant, flavorful, and very filling. It is so nutrient dense that I reached satiation with smaller portions than usual. Having said that, the portions are huge and we got 2+ meals out of both dinners we ordered. As we were staying at the inn, we also had 2 breakfasts that were super tasty and filling. I think your enjoyment of the food will depend on the type of food you are accustomed to eating. But- all you have to do is look at the owners who are the picture of health to know this is the kind of food you should be fueling your body with regularly!

Spent 3 days here celebrating our first wedding anniversary and the food was top notch. For breakfast, we tried the polenta, burrito, chilaquele, crepe, waffles, and the portobello benedict. Everything was flavorful & appetizing. We learned that a number of their ingredients are sourced from the garden on the property. Our favorites were the waffles and the polenta. The portobello benedict was so unique, but it was so good with the sauce. For our anniversary dinner, we tried the glazed tofu, pad thai, flatbread, and the carrot cake. The flavors were exquisite and served with so much love and care. The staff here is very kind, gentle, and helpful. The ambiance is relaxing, cozy, and very peaceful. Even if you're not a vegan, I highly recommend this place.

Our favorites were: + Broiled oysters with bone marrow butter, Parmesan crema, and breadcrumb: although I'm not usually a huge fan of oysters, I did enjoy these particular ones! + Lemon cream pie with tangerine, lemon curd, brown butter graham, citrus marigold Chantilly: we split one slice of this pie, but I could've eaten a few more slices of the pie by myself (if my stomach had space left). Perfect ending to the meal. + Primavera panisse: crispy chickpea fritters topped with a variety of greens and flower petals. + Yuzu marigold kombucha (Wilder x Petite Percebes collaboration): this was a refreshing, lightly sweet complement to the heavier dishes of the meal. We also tried the cassoulet (which had roasted chicken thigh, Roundman's garlic sausage, pork belly, Heirloom beans - a heartier meaty dish); and the potato chowder with oyster mushrooms, spring greens, and wild nettle pistou (we loved the mushrooms in it). This spot is worth stopping by!

Inside was huge! Giant bar, tons of tables for dining, along with a stage where it looked like they hosted live music! We ordered our meals up at the front counter and took a seat in the dining area. I ordered a Golden State Mighty Dry cider and their grilled cheese sandwich with added caramelized onions and mushrooms. We were the only people inside, but food came out quick. Everyone was a huge fan of their meals. I loved my sandwich, the bread was absolutely delicious. Also was a huge fan of those mushrooms they used! We ended up leaving with a fresh baked loaf of bread when we left too for home. Service was great, food was on point, and loved the vibe they had going. Would love to come back to see some music one of these days.

This place was so good, we had dinner here twice during our 4 day stay in Mendocino!…read more They have seating outside on a large patio (with heaters) and in the smaller inside area next to the bar. The decor is eclectic, which many interesting things displayed everywhere. On our first visit, we started with a bowl of New England Clam Chowder ($13). This was great! It was thick with clams and even passed my "spoon test", which is being able to support the spoon standing vertically in the soup without falling over. It passed the test due to the thick soup with lots of clams. (See photo). We each had the Chicken Pot Pie ($22) from the daily special menu. This was delicious and thick and topped by a puff-pastry like thick topping. They also make Irish Coffee ($11) that was perfect. Just as good as the Buena Vista Bar in San Francisco (where this cocktail was invented). On our second visit, two nights later, my wife had a French Dip sandwich with sweet potato french fries ($22). She found it enjoyable and very good. I had a Patty Melt ($22) which was delicious. They make an espresso martini ($14) that is delicious! On both visits, the service was quick and friendly. Note: This places charges a 3% fee to pay by credit card.

Always Trust the Gift Shop Lady. Always…read more We had just conquered the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse--which apparently requires climbing three flights of "not-quite-normal" stairs. After a morning canoe down the Big River and those stairs, we turned into ravenously hungry people. We asked the gift shop lady for food recommendations. Without skipping a beat, she said: "Patterson's Pub! If you get there before 2:00 PM, you can get brunch!" Challenge accepted. We took our appetites straight to Mendocino's main drag. They had a tented patio in the sunny-but-stubbornly-windy Mendocino air, but we opted for the interior. Good choice. It has the ultimate "Authentic Irish Pub" starter pack: Cool and dark? Check. Crisp draft beers? Check. Full bar? Check. The SF Giants game playing on multiple screens? Check and check. We successfully beat the 2:00 PM brunch buzzer, and the specials menu looked to good to pass up! Lobster Wontons (Pub Special): Gone in a literal flash. Blink and you missed them. Crabcakes Benedict (Pub Special): Hands down, the best this diner has ever had. The hollandaise sauce (which they kindly served on the side per request) was a lemony deliciousness! The Comfort Food Crew: The rest of the party ordered clam chowder (Boston), garlic bread, and a fried cod sammy with thin-cut fries. All around lip-smacking! The Liquid Refreshment: Paired it all with a half-pint of Scrimshaw Pilsner (shoutout to local Fort Bragg brewing). It hit the spot and paired perfectly with the crabcakes benedict! The "Too Spicy" Drama: We did hit one minor speed bump. One of the dishes turned out to be a bit too spicy for one of our sensitive diners (not me). The waitstaff deserve a medal here. They went out of their way to try and "de-spice" the meal. While my companion's tastebuds were past the point of return, the staff's effort and sweetness were noticed and much appreciated! . Excellent customer service. The Verdict: A wonderful, perfect meal for a weekend getaway in the Mendocino/Fort Bragg area. We will absolutely be back. Let this be a lesson to you all: always ask a local!

While the new decor is nice, it became painfully clear that changing the atmosphere means little without competent management and staff who prioritize customer safety. Our expensive dinner was completely ruined by a loud, heated argument between a man and a woman seated near us. The situation rapidly escalated, drawing in other bar patrons with foul language and physical confrontation including a man pushing his wife out the door. The bartender tried to intervene and wanted to call the police, but the manager overruled him. One man at the center of the dispute stayed seated while chaos unfolded around him. When we notified the manager, who was sitting nearby watching the entire incident she refused to contact the police, dismissing it as a matter of "private property." We suspect this inaction was because the disruptive, intoxicated patrons were staying in the restaurant's on-site hotel rooms, with profits apparently taking priority over patron safety. I reminded her that restaurants have the right (and responsibility) to refuse service and remove disruptive guests. Servers ultimately had to escort the intoxicated patrons out, unnecessarily putting both staff and other customers at risk. Restaurants have a legal duty of care under premises liability laws to protect patrons from foreseeable harm, including violence from other customers. Failing to intervene in a clearly escalating situation involving intoxicated individuals, overruling calls for police assistance, and allowing threats to continue outside the premises raises serious safety and potential liability concerns especially in a family-friendly, high-end establishment. As we left, the ejected men were waiting just outside, openly planning what they would do to the other individual when he exited. We have never experienced anything like this in a restaurant charging premium prices, including $12 for a simple loaf of bread and butter. The food was good and our server worked hard, but the disturbing incident, the manager's complete lack of concern for customer safety, and the unsafe environment have cost this establishment our business after more than three decades of loyalty.
