    Bloody Mary and a mimosa.
    Matthew T.

Stopped in two days ago to start our day with a Bloody Mary for me and a mimosa for my wife. The Bloody Mary was hand made from scratch in front of us. It was delicious! For the mimosa, they give you fresh orange juice, and a bottle of champagne. So you get a little bit more than one glass of mimosa. We always stop into Patterson's pub while we're in town, for a drink and/or a meal. Last night we stopped in for dinner. It was very busy. It was about a 15-20 minute wait. But we were able to sit out back by a fire pit and order a drink while we waited. Got to meet some other folks passing through the area. Good conversation. For dinner I ordered the turkey burger with tater tots. It was perfect. Perfectly cooked with fresh lettuce, tomato onions, etc. Even the roll was perfect. My wife is a vegetarian and got the patty melt with the black bean garden burger. She got steak fries as her side. She was also very happy with her meal. The ambience here is pure Irish pub. Very friendly staff and clientele. If you're passing through the area, definitely recommend taking a break at Patterson's pub for a drink and or a meal.

This spot was recommended by a volunteer at the Point Carrillo Lighthouse and she was right! The back patio is fantastic a, the service was great and the food menu diverse. Highly recommend.

Visited Patterson's Pub at the end of January and had a blast. It was very busy on a Saturday afternoon but we were able to get seated right away. The atmosphere was nice as everyone had smiles all around. We started off with some Irish Coffees which was a nice way to begin our meal. Next, we shared a cup of clam chowder as we didn't want to ruin our appetite. Their clam chowder had my girlfriend and I in complete shock as it was that GOOD! She said I was more excited about the food than when she said yes to me asking her out! We finished off with ordering an IPA to have with our Fish&Chips. This was honestly the best fish and chips I've had. The tartar sauce was so flavorful and paired well with the fish, our server even gave me extra as I devoured the one that was meant to be shared haha. Please stop by and give it a try, you won't be disappointed! 10/10

Great service. Nice patio and good food. Came here for dinner with a party of 10. Everyone loves what they ordered. We didn't make any reservations but was easily seated. I recommend this place when you are around the area.

Staci was a great server! It was slow to start but once we got drinks, things were smooth. We sat outside which was very nice. Table ordered side Cesar salads with steak and their lunch special which was a cheese & bacon sandwich with a cup of tomato bisque. Delicious, great portions and quality.

Great spot in Mendocino! One of the few places that are open late, so it was well appreciated to have a nice and cozy spot open. Came here with a group of 6, and we ordered a bunch of apps to share. I loved the jalapeno poppers and the coconut shrimp--poppers were absolutely stuffed with cheesey goodness, and I liked the fragrant coconut flavor from the crispy breaded shrimp. I also really liked my bison burger and thought it was particularly juicy and fresh. Super nice staff as well!

This is one of the only places open late in Mendocino so we decided to give it a try while in town! The vibe inside was so quaint and warm, with cute Christmas and Irish decorations. Our waitress was so helpful with answering questions about the menu and offering recommendations. I decided to try the bison burger and was impressed with the meaty flavor and huge portion size. The fries were crispy. Overall, it was a solid burger. I only wish the prices were a little lower, but I'd come back!

So many great meals and good times at this pub. The kitchen is open until 10:00 on the weekends. The staff is friendly and the space is full of charm. One of our favorite haunts in Mendocino!

The service was amazing--all of the waitresses we interacted with were friendly and checked in on us constantly. I got the wrap which was something I was eyeballing since I looked at their website. It had so many textures which made every bite a new experience. Not at all dry because of the dressing (I chose ranch but there's a variety to choose from) and avocado. My friend got the burger. They did have to add some sauces to avoid it being super dry. I tried a bite and it had this smokiness that made it very pleasant. I agree that the extra mustard and ketchup we put on it was needed. Fries were solid. Nothing to note there!

Patterson's Pork Ribs Special. Did not leave hungry

Center of Mendocino, easy parking. Typical pub food. Place is clean, large menu: there's something on it for everyone. Outdoor seating area is huge with 2 TVs (World Cup was on while we were there) and is very dog friendly...even though we didn't have ours with us, it was a plus. Very pleasant wait staff, we come here at least once every time we visit Mendocino.

We had quick service on a Sunday night. This place is 21+ order, but you can order to-go if you brought kids. Dogs welcome. Their patio is VERY dog friendly, with water bowls! They did warn us that at night skunks may come out and that it is usually not a problem because they just want French fries. We did not end up seeing any. It's the perfect outdoor but indoor feeling combined. Trees, plants, tan bark, but a huge covering with heaters and some TVs.

Quaint pub that is 21 or older only. We were sat immediately even though the dining and bar were full. Our server brought the speedboats to us. Quite an extensive menu so it took a bit of time to order. I had a smash burger w/ tots along with a cup of clam chowder, and my wife had a burger also. We didn't want to eat too heavy because we were going to graze through town. Full bar, tasty drinks!

Do they offer their regular menu on Sundays, or just their brunch menu?

It says 21 and over only. Even in the restaurant? We can't bring our 20-year-old daughter there to have lunch?

As far as I know outside would be fine.

    Kombucha on tap?

Yes Patterson's Pub does. It is Booch Craft Grapefruit Hibiscus.

    Is this place dog friendly?

I sat at the bar and was served by the owner of the Pub, who is from the UK. I loved chatting with him about the pub and all the fun things that go on there. I happened to come in on Trivia Night, which gets a decent crowd! For dinner, I ordered the Braised Beef Guinness pie and a Guinness to go with it. The pie comes out steaming hot with a nice layer of browned mashed potatoes on top. There is real crust to this kind of pie. Underneath the mashed potatoes is more like beef stew. Large chunks of tender beef and vegetables are sitting in a delicious Guinness stew. On the side, a fresh salad to go with it. For $24 the portion you get is perfect and along with a good pint of beer this is the way to go. I will definitely be back to try some of their other food!

My wife and I had just visited Abbey Tavern this past weekend, a premier Scottish pub in the City, and we expected a similar atmosphere. However, the moment we showed up, we were met with great disappointment. The Goose & Fern is honestly a terrible place to watch a sports match: there was only a single TV mounted in the back corner of the restaurant, the TV wasn't particularly large, and the speakers had been turned completely off. What a bust. Although the food was decent, especially the Shepherd's pie -- which came piping hot in a small cast iron skillet, the service was downright dreadful and almost non-existent. We never received waters (or were even asked if we wanted beverages), our table wasn't given enough silverware, we were never checked on during the meal, and we were waiting around for 30 minutes twiddling our thumbs before somebody from our party finally went up to try to pay for the check. In hindsight, a tip was not warranted for the lack of service. Overall, Yelp grossly misled me on The Goose & Fern. This is not a spot I would stop by again to watch a sporting match. If you're in this part of Santa Rosa, do yourself a favor and head over to Dave and Busters down the street where they have a bunch of massive screens, tons of beer options, and service that will far surpass what you're getting here.

Food is amazing and the ambiance has that local feel that makes this place special. Get the wings. Can't go wrong with them. Love the crispyness and meatiness of the wings. We ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, onion rings, and an order of fish and chips, alongside two flavored lemonades. Chicken was unremarkable--unseasoned, not marinated; unfortunately a bland and slightly tough piece of chicken. Came on a nice brioche bun with the caramelized onions being the best part of the dish (and meal). Our fish and onion rings were overly greasy. The fries were tasty and seemed fresh but unsalted and wilted beneath the fish and could have been crispier. My partner thought the sweet flavored lemonades were from a mix and there was no pulp. No pics. Seems the de rigueur order here is chicken wings, which we don't order. Would be a great place to hang with friends for drinks and conviviality; very casual vibe. But foodwise, our experience was very middle-of-the-road.
