The service was good. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was very very crunchy but the fries were great!

We passed this building several times during our stay in Santa Rosa. Entered to an empty dining room, several locals at the bar in the adjoining room. They were enjoying themselves. A bit dark. A bit well worn. Menu had more options than I thought it would. Appetizer sampler and a salad for me. Salad was a salad. The appetizer plate left a bit to be desired. There were 2 of each app and nothing else on the plate. It seemed disjointed. Had a cocktail. Eh. All in all glad we went so now I know what it is like. I won't go back to try anything else. They're was also a very strong smell of bleach or disinfectant that was over powering. read more

Great establishment for a night out if your looking to play some pool, have some drinks and sing karaoke! The service is always great. Atmosphere is live and fun. Classic sports bar with low lights and little ambiance, but the bartender rocks! I was undecided on cocktails to go with dinner and she pulled me out of my rum and coke doldrums by offering a wonderful blueberry mojito! What a treat it was! It was a beautiful thing to watch her muddle the mint and berries, and craft my cocktail with care. Hubby had a beer. The bar has a pretty lengthy food menu, and I chose a shrimp bowl with cilantro lime rice. It was not my favorite, the shrimp being fully cooked but a bit softer than I like. The rice was a wet gluey overcooked overstirred mess, served with a side of lime juice because, well it needed more liquid? I did not finish the rice. The broccoli side however, was perfectly prepared, tender and buttery with mild seasoning! But my bad, I really should have gotten a burger instead of the rice bowl. My suggestion, invest in a rice cooker, perfect every time! Husband had a buffalo chicken wrap with a side salad and both were EXCELLENT! So I really think it's about ordering what they are good at making. Bar food, well prepared. Nothing fancy. read more

Such a great time! My gram took me here to drink lunch I mean eat lunch and have a drink. She loves it here and now, I do too! She said we simply must try Linda's (our wonderful bartender) Bloody Mary's! Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Linda is fabulous and was able to attend to everyone at the bar and keep a smile on her face. Our beautiful server, Connie was fantastic as well. She knew exactly what my grams orders (she is a regular here ) and my cousin Connie orders as well. I ordered the eggs Benedict (I forgot to take a picture before I ate them ) and they were great! We have been going to Dolan's Den for many years and have always enjoyed good food and bar service. Tonight at 5:30 pm, we went there to start our 3-day Valentine holiday weekend with dinner and drinks. We had an awful experience. The bartender was rude and ignored us even though the bar was half empty. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks and she never came back to get our dinner order. Our experience tonight was terrible and we will not be returning. Owners, don't be surprised if you're losing business. For the first time ever, we actually walked out of a restaurant because of the terrible attitude and service. read more

I've never left a 1 star reveiw, but I've also never had such terrible service from such an insecure "manager". I've been to Dolan's a handful of times and tolerated the bartenders who are slow and would rather chat with their freinds than make drinks. I even was willing to pay for drinks that magically appeared on my tab that I didn't order, but I've had it with this place. They added a drink to my tab that I did not order, and when I told them about it, they said "Well somebody put it on your tab." and refused to take it off. When I told them that I'd pay for it, but I'm never coming back, the manager came out from behind the bar to confront me about "the people I hang out with". He then kicked me out. Apparently, I hurt his feelings when I said I would never come back. I was not rude, and I did not curse. Do yourself a favor and don't go to this bar. read more

This is a tough one for me to review. The pub itself is just fine. The parking lot is small and a little tight. There is a small outside dining area. Inside, there's a large dining area and a wraparound bar. There's also a couple pool tables. There's a few TV monitors inside and I got the impression that this place has it's local regulars. Everyone I spoke with, including the staff, seemed pretty nice. But here's where I have to go down in my review. With a name like Dolan's, I assumed they'd definitely have pretty good Fish & Chips...so that's what I ordered. The order comes with three pieces of fish and fries. To my great disappointment, the fish was lacking any decent flavor. I tried squeezing some lemon on the fish....but no real help there. So I tried putting some malted vinegar on the fish. That didn't help either. The french fries were good, but the fish was pretty bad in my opinion. Maybe I just happened to get a bad batch or it wasn't one of their specialties. Regardless, it left me with a bad impression. Prices here were reasonable. So one day, I'd like to give this place another try. Hopefully, my food order will go better. I won't be ordering the F&Cs though. read more

Nice bar spot with a menu that extends beyond burgers and fries. The husband got Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken which was tasty, and I got the fried chicken bacon & Swiss sandwich but subbed it with pepperjack. Food was good and it came out pretty quick even while they were busy. The tots were crispy and hot. It IS a bar though, and you have to be clear about what ya want in terms of sides or dips and such. They were very accommodating. It was easier to order drinks from the bar, especially since there was a birthday celebration happening. Overall we had a nice experience and planned to come here because it had a full bar. read more

Rude, nasty, condescending bartender, Shawna. Was recently visiting my sister in Santa Rosa from NJ. I Stopped by here September 7th because I knew they had Guinness draught. The bartender, Shawna gave me a condescending look because I asked her, "did she know how to pour a proper pint of Guinness?" I had been in there the previous week and the bartender didn't know hour to pour a pint of Guinness but listened and learned and thanked me for telling her so I did indeed have a reason to ask the next bartender. She then proceeded to pull a chilled beer glass from the cooler. I asked for a Guinness glass and she snipped, "they're not chilled." but begrudgingly got one and started to pour. She stopped 3/4 way and put it aside. Then gave me another nasty look and went back after 12-15 seconds to top it up. As well as the lack of time she waited for it to settle plus the fact the gas looked extremely high on that tap combined for a 7/8's full bubbling cascading mess which she plopped in front of me. I said, "that's not a good pour" to which she said, "it'll settle down, give it a minute." I said, "I'm not drinking that" and picked it up and threw it out. I stood up and she said "Go" As I was leaving and turned and said, "you DON'T know how to pour a proper pint of Guinness" to which she replied, "oh shut up" I wish I had taken a photo of the pour, it was the worst pint of Guinness I'd ever seen and her but she's a 50 'ish brunette with slightly curly hair. When I got back to my sisters house and told her the story she mentioned that herself and her husband had a similar interaction 6 months previously with that bartender. I stopped by during the week and spoke to manager Shannon and told my story. Shawna has been there years and works Sunday nights, Saturday afternoon, Wednesday evening plus various other day shifts during the week. If she's working, don't stay. This woman should definitely not be in any service position. Oh, BTW. I'm Irish, drink lots of Guinness and have been a bartender in Dublin, London, New York and various bars in NJ for over 35 years, so I do know what I'm talking about. read more

However the meat in the bahn mi salad was just completely off flavor wise and the offered dressing options in no way go with that salad. Sarah (bartender) is absolutely amazing. I have traveled the world to expensive places and no one has ever made me a good martini except for her. To say that it was good is an understatement. She made the best damn dirty martini that I have had in my whole life. She is absolutely wonderful and treats her customers extremely well and courteous. First impression: drinking establishment for locals. Irish breakfast (I'll tell you how it was later). What? No Guinness!? No stout of any kind (except on St Paddy's day). Not very Irish. The "Irish" breakfast? Hardly Irish. Sausage had American style seasoning (think Oscar Meyer) & the bacon was uniquely American, fatty, slightly crisp; chilli in the place of baked beans; tomatoes were raw. I called earlier today to see if Dolan's would be showing the Chiefs v Dolphins playoff game. The woman I spoke with assured me, yes they would have it. So we took an Uber there (I always Uber if I'm going to be drinking), a little early to get settled before the game. ($10+ $5tip) We ordered drinks ($25 + $5 tip), sat around waiting for game to start only to find out that, no, they didn't have the game. They had some preview crap on that turned into NBC Bay Area after about 30 minutes. So we took another Uber home (another $10+tip). What waste of time. So all and all we spent about $50 for nothing because someone working there lied. Well thanks for nothing. read more

A friend and I went here some time ago to see if this newer establishment was an upgrade from their Irish themed predecessors. It was so busy their parking lot was full, a great sign! My friend was driving and proceeded to enter the only spot available: a disabled space. However, before we could even finish pulling fully into the space, we were met with intense hostility by a very combative, obviously intoxicated, and self proclaimed "co-owner" with the audacity to state threatening and derogatory remarks towards my friend (because of his background) and tried to instigate a physical confrontation. I won't get into explicit details about the verbal altercation, but to say we were offended by the inappropriate, disrespectful, and unprofessional misconduct is a massive understatement. The situation deescalated rapidly when he FINALLY took us up on our repeated offer to look at the vehicles license plate. Then, realizing his false assumption of my friend, and probably overall lack of situational awareness, he proceeded to offer us free drinks for the misunderstanding, but too little too late, the damage was long done. I can't review much since we took our business elsewhere, but I will say if this gentleman is in fact a representative of this potentially fine establishment, I'm embarrassed for them. Refusing service to a decorated combat veteran who was wounded in battle, and in turn has a legally affixed disabled plate bc of said injuries (and then is purposefully bad mouthed and mocked for his military service) is a bad look. A really, really, bad look. I hope this was an isolated incident and the real owners (who I googled and look like really nice folks) enact some kind of staff wide sensitivity training and education on parking regulations and proper identification/enforcement techniques to avoid future prejudice to potential patrons. Usually when I hand out low ratings I will return to see if it was just an off day and hopefully improve their ranks, but out of principle this customer won't be back. I do however wish the real owners the very best and my condolences for their recent loss. I truly hate leaving negative reviews, but I feel I'd be doing my friend a disservice by leaving this discriminatory story untold. read more

A few friends and I went in for karaoke night. I don't drink but I love karaoke with friends:) Our server was Sara and she was amazing!!! She always made sure to offer me something nonalcoholic, was so attentive to our whole party, and made the night so fun! There weren't many other server/bar tenders from what I remember, and she was accommodating to everyone, very personable, and made sure we were taking care of at all times! I'm going to be a little more lenient due to the owner unexpectedly passing recently. First off, it still looks and feels like The Nutty (minus the peanuts) which isn't a bad thing. I always loved the horseshoe bar and the pool tables so I'm glad those are still there. The servers were great and you could tell they were a little short-staffed and members were thrown into positions outside their usual spot, but they were having fun. Our biggest complaint was the menu we were given was not even close to what is posted on the website. The website menu looks amazing! The menu we were given was just standard bar food. We started to wonder if maybe there were 2 different menus since they have more of a lounge-type area and a bar area. However, when we went, the lounge was being used for a sip and paint event. Totally fine but would have liked some acknowledgment of the reduced menu or something. It was a pretty big bummer. The menu online looks AMAZING! We want to try that one read more

Dolans is the epitome of what it means to be a great neighborhood bar. The food, drinks, patrons, and bartenders make this bar the ultimate hangout. Oh yeah and the breakfast is killer too (the potato works are my jam)! The bartenders there are FANTASTIC, I honesty can't say enough good things about their team. They're all incredibly personable and are always down for a great conversation. Karaoke night is always a blast and definitely check out their wine and paint night for a fun night out with your significant other! Went on Thanksgiving for a quick lunch & drinks. There was a good amount of people there being Thanksgiving afternoon, which was surprising. We got much needed beers at the bar and then had a seat at a table. The bartender gave us menus and there were a lot of options. We ordered the Mozzarella Sticks to start. When they came out I could only say WOW. They were big! I wish I would have taken a picture. They not only looked amazing but tasted great too. I got the Smash Burger with grilled onions for lunch and it was amazing. I'm still thinking about it days later and can't wait until I go back to have it again soon! I got it with fries which were nothing to rave about so I think next time I will try another side. My wife wasn't too hungry so she got a Caesar Salad when when it came out the portion was huge.
