We live in the area and stumbled upon Homerun pizza last year. They are lovely people, always helpful and kind. The food is delicious! Solid pizza option and we love the knuckleballs. What stood out to me recently was an order we placed on Halloween night. They were really busy, I ordered through the website and the order got passed from one driver to the next to the next. It was a mess. We didn't end up getting our pizza that night, which was a lot to do with the driver not communicating. Was I bummed? Yea for sure. But, they were helpful and apologetic and helped me get a refund without a lot of fuss. We ended up with pizza the next day! I will say that we've done food orders on major holidays from other places and it's usually chaotic anywhere so I gave them some grace here because of how awesome they are normally. Also, this is a fun spot to eat out at. We have kids in sports so after games this is a fun pizza place to go eat at. It's got a great vibe, great people. Thank you Homerun folks! What is up with Santa Rosa and the lack of independently run pizza places? It seems like it's either pizza chains or fancy pizzas... neither which is appealing to me. And so thank god for Homerun Pizza, one of the last vestiges of local pizza places that serves pizza the way I want it to taste. First of all, I have to say it was a process for Homerun Pizza to win me over. The last few times we were here, they had delicious pizza AND great service. Having said that, let's start from the beginning... We first came here based on nostalgia. A few years ago, we were grabbing some cookies at Cookies Take a Bite and my hubs saw this place and it brought him feelings of nostalgia. Those sports themed pizza places, family-owned, with eat-in pizza by the pie (not just the slice.) I'll have to admit, I was apprehensive. I'm originally an East Coaster, and so what I think of a local pizza place is very different -- which also makes me picky about my pizza. On a whim, we decided to eat there and honed in on something mega on the menu: buffalo chicken pizza. I love buffalo chicken, and I love pizza. The both together? That's a gut bomb, but we decided to try it. It was very good. The only thing was that the service was very slow. What service we had was good... it's just that the place was packed and not enough staff. After that, we left and went on with our lives. We didn't live in Santa Rosa at the time. Fast forward a few years and now living in Santa Rosa, we craved pizza, as humans do sometimes. Hopping on Yelp, it was slim pickin's.... there are very few pizza places in Santa Rosa. And so, we decided to give them a try again, but once again, the service was slooow. Once again, pizza was good, but every time we were craving pizza, the slow service deterred us. We decided to give them a try, and it seems like since then, they hired a few people, and service has been great. We were greeted promptly warmly and served at a reasonable timeframe. So what's good about the pizza? It's a thin crust on the bottom, but crust is also fluffy. It tastes like it's not just mass produced pizza, and it also tastes like a classic pizza (in other words, not a 'fancy' pizza if you get my drift. Nothing inherently bad about a 'fancy' pizza, (which I occasionally enjoy) but honestly this east coast girl just wants a classic pizza when she craves pizza. So, really I'm just glad this place exists. And thank you for hiring good people to provide good service! If the service deterred you previously, give them a try again! read more

Homerun is one of our favorite local spots! The food is always delicious and we love going in to try their monthly knuckle ball specials, the staff is always friendly and fast, you never have to wait long for a table and it is a family friendly restaurant which is always great! They have a small outside patio, and a variation of table options inside from tall tables to booth options along with bar seating. I am a local to the Larkfield area, and I try very hard to give our business to local places. We actively avoid chain restaurants and want to keep our money going into businesses owned by those in our community. That being said Homerun is one place we will never be going back to. We placed an order by phone, it was halloween night and we fully realized that it would be busy, therefore we called 90 minutes ahead. They took the order and said it would be ready in an hour, I told them no worries, we actually won't be there for an hour and a half so all good right? Fast forward- we show up and they have the order in, but not done. She checks on things says 15 minutes. I wait 15 minutes and check back in, she says I just spoke to the cook, it will be 45 minutes more. I said no way, please refund me immediately this is totally unacceptable. I get that places get busy, heck I worked in a pizza joint for 2 years. When it gets busy you just have to say accurate times, an hour off is not ok. Plus they just brushed it off completely, not a sorry, not anything just " hey its another 45 minutes or you can cancel" I was getting this food to feed a party of people waiting for me. Locally owned and operated by some of the friendliest staff. The restaurant is often filled with regulars and given the great service, I can see why people keep coming back for more. I really love the pizza dough and while I've had the calzone and pizza, my favorite menu item is the knuckle balls. If you're a meat eater, try the bacon stuffed as you won't be disappointed. Service- we walked in and sat down. The bartender noticed us when we came in and one of the waitresses noticed us sitting there but it took awhile before anyone came over. The gentleman finally made his way over took our order, then brought it over to us, took our payment but that was about it. Food - house salad was fresh and stacked with goodies. The pizza was so flavorful. Love the crust and it was topped with lots of the topping. It wasn't on the greasy side either which I enjoy. We went to Homerun Pizza early on a Friday night. I have never been there and it is small. cozy restaurant. We were in a party of four. We found a table and were immediately greeted by a young man and given our menus. We started off with a bottle of wine and a salad. The salad was your standard restaurant salad and was good. We also ordered the potato skins and they were really good. We ordered a half combo and the other half a pepperoni with olives. The pizza was really hot, right out of the oven. It was great, with just the right amount of bite and flavor. The owner came to our table several times, was very involved in the restaurant and spoke to all the guests. The server was also great, and all the employees made the experience a memorable one. I will be back for the pizza and the great experience we had there. read more

Seems like a family owned place. Very clean sporty environment. Super friendly staff didn't really have to ask for anything because they got us everything we could possibly think of. Even though it was a medium/small store they still had a bunch of seating and booths and a lot of staff to help out anybody. We got the MVP chicken pizza because we love ourselves a good barbecue pizza. The price size and ingredients were way better in comparison to mountain Mike's or Mary's pizza shack. Also The CHEESE PULL reached like 9 to 10 inches very impressive. Well, my first experience was a couple years ago. I went in to buy a gift certificate as a Christmas gift- it didn't work, so I had to go back and get another one (hassle). Then, I ordered a pizza - 1/2 pepperoni, 1/2 combo. I wanted plain dough balls (knuckleballs, I guess). I was told I had to order knuckleballs with stuff in them. Then the phone person forgot I had requested a pick up time. Then they didn't give me the pizza I ordered. When I called back, I got a long silence, then, "sorry" followed by silence then, "do you want to come down and get a small or medium pepperoni?" To which I said- "no, I don't want to drive back!" Nothing fancy here, but a decent, if limited, beer selection (two Firestone Walkers, a Racer 5, and a Little Sumpin' on draft, plus bottles) Ordered the Southwest Egg Roll appetizer, which was one egg roll, sliced into four pieces. A little chicken, black beans, corn and rice, deep-fried and served with sweet chili sauce -- whaaa??? no salsa??? Still, it was okay if you're a tad hungry. I used to absolutely love this place, but its gone downhill since the change of ownership. One time the cooks and staff were smoking weed in the back, and their hours are strange. Cynthia the owner fought with my wife over a burnt tasting pizza .. May I ask how can a pizza be crispy but soggy and burnt? . She said we are proud of that pizza" even though we thought it was very bitter. You asked for crispy she said" yea not burnt . And we moved here from another state . People including our friend who use to be a regular but now is NOT ( she did recognize him and think his name was Gabe totally wrong. But she use to be a bartender " he, told us the place was great. Instead of saying, sorry she consistently continued to argue. Didn't offer us to come back and enjoy our pizza on us ...just that she didn't think it was burnt did not offer us a refund. We will never give this place a dollar of our money. We hope this review reaches many, if you have a problem with your pizza, they won't help you. We had a fun family dinner here last night after my daughters soccer game. We LOVED the atmosphere. There were lots of families and groups of friends gathering after their baseball games. Came here after going to the other bar in the shopping center and discovered that bar didn't serve food. Honestly wasn't expecting much from a strip mall pizza joint, but was ultimately impressed. Decent beer selection, good no frills cocktails. Menu went beyond pizza. We ordered the turkey BLT sandwich with fries and avocado. Ended up being served a chicken sandwich with the same ingredients which was fine and tasty. Ordered take out and didn't know what to expect. When I picked up the pizza it was nice and hot. Took it to the car and the smell was amazing and the first thing I noticed!!!!!! I got half Sultan and Half of the Hammer. Both were amazing and super delicious. Let me tell you about the knuckle balls. They are so delicious So much bacon and cheese it was worth every penny. My wife and I came here for a little weekday date night. The atmosphere was pretty laid back with sports memorabilia everywhere and games on TV. They have a bar area with plenty of beer on tap. The staff is also really friendly and attentive. The pizza was amazing and did not disappoint. It wasn't too thick and it wasn't soggy. Nothing is worse than soggy crust.
