So once a year for two weeks,Russian River Brewing becomes the beer mecca on the planet-for two weeks they release their triple IPA Pliny The Younger. People come from from all over the planet to fly in for a chance to be able to taste this amazing brew each year and this year,I decided to join them and go out to try and get my hands on Pliny The Younger. The release this year was from March 20th 2026 to April 2nd 2026. So 1st thing we had to do was decide which location we wanted to go to-They have a downtown Santa Rosa location and a much bigger location located in Windsor. I decided to go to Windsor because I was told the parking lot was much bigger and the dining area has a larger capacity-not sure if that's true but was good enough for me. We left Sacramento a bit after 6am and we arrived in Windsor around 830am. When we arrived,there was already a line of probably around 75-100 people. So we just grabbed our spot in line and we waited until they opened up the dining area at 11am-Hoping to get seated in the first wave. We were told before we went out there that if we were lucky the wait would be from 2-3 hours and if we were unlucky it could be up to 6 hours. Well I can really explain it but the somehow the time flew by-not sure if it was the people we were in line with,who were all in the best of moods or if it was just the anticipation of doing something really fun. They were true pros the way they had the line setup-totally organized and they even have heat-lamps out there to keep everyone warm,while we waited. Well today was our lucky day because my buddy and I got seated in the first wave. The dining area was really big with so many table options,multiple rooms for seating available and they even had a bar area and an area where you could sit around a fireplace-like area. The wait staff was really awesome at this restaurant-each person working was even nicer than the next. How it works during Younger release event is like this. -They give you a wristband with 3 numbered pull tabs on it that allows each customer to get 3 pours and then at the end of their meal we are allowed to buy 3 bottles of the highly coveted release Pliny The Younger. The price point for these beers were $6.75 for each pour and around $13.00 for each take home bottle. While I was there I also had a taste of Blind Pig and Tempo Change-those were like $1.25 each for a tasting of those two beers. One thing I didn't quite have a scope of before going to this event in person was the high quality of food offered at Russian River Brewing. I made a double mistake of eating while I was in line and also making plans to eat at another place after this event. So I missed out on really diving into their pretty impressive offerings of food.I will for sure be doing that on my next visit-they had darn near everything you would expect a brewery to offer and it all looked so delicious. Well let's talk about why I was here-Pliny The Younger. I am 100% an IPA fan-it's always my beer of choice-So Pliny the Younger being a Triple IPA-I knew I was going to enjoy it.This beer historically is rated near 100 every year and this years release didn't disappoint.It was the smoothest triple I've ever had the pleasure of drinking and I've had more than a few in my day. This was the best Triple IPA I've ever had. Final thought-Was the experience worth it and would I do it again? Yes & Yes-my only regret is that I didn't do this many years ago when I first heard about it.I do plan on making this an annual pilgrimage. read more

I came here after stopping at Armstrong Redwoods to enjoy a nice glass of beer and some food but unfortunately my expectations were not met. The beer, as always, was great. However I ordered their Pliny fries which had a pool of oil the bottom of the bowl. I wasn't a fan of the flavor combo and the pickled jalapeños lacked flavor. I feel like pepperoncinis would have been a better fit for this dish. My friend got the burger and fries and said the burger was good and flavorful but that the fries were also very oily and lacked flavor. I appreciated that they saw us at the indoor bar with our pup. I'll definitely come back for the beer and try and give some of their other dishes a go. read more

This is the local brewery and restaurant near my dad's house and is always a go to spot for friends and family in town. They have the best selection of beers on tap, from local to Belgian styles, there's something for everyone. The service is fast and friendly with a lot of personality in each server. The food is usually great with typical American style choices, like burgers, wraps, fries, and great appetizers. This time I got the pulled pork sandwich with some barbecue sauce and my brothers got the kale salad with bacon. Both were very good. So many great beers, but if I had to choose one, it would be mind circus, hazy IPA. They have a normal dining area with table tops or booth seating, as well as a dog-friendly dining area near the bar that's also indoors. Outside, they allow drinks, but no food. Also a great place to bring your dog if you have one. Don't forget to check out the merch store before you leave for some clothes and beer for the road. read more

I did the flightbeith both sides of the board.... it was great to try all of what they had on draft! How fun! Love their Happy Hops beer and was going through the area, so I had to stop! The flight was impressive and a lot of fun to go through. Probably could have split it, but wasn't feeling it that day. The sliders were perfectly cooked and didn't taste dried out at all. The server in the bar area was friendly but when it gets busy with after work people and he's pouring drinks for all the tables. The place in total is laid back and family friendly with lots of seating and a good selection of food offerings. I would stop in again when I drive through! read more

May 2, 2026 - Windsor, CA. We keep coming back because this place is super dog-friendly--both the outdoor patio and an indoor seating area allow dogs, which is a huge plus. Unfortunately, this visit was a bit hit-or-miss with the food. The artichoke dip was great, and I enjoyed my Southwest salad. But the bone-in rib appetizer was dry, and the fish tacos at our table came out cold. By the time our server checked back in, we were already halfway through eating, so we didn't ask for a remake of the tacos. Wow the Russian River Brewery is impressive. They do offer tours but we came for dinner so we did not do the tour. Check their website for times. A popular restaurant with plenty of beer selections to choose from. We tried a few samples. The restaurant was a good sized restaurant with ample seating in the bar, dining area, and covered outside dining area. Two separate multi-user men and women's restrooms. Our server was friendly and attentive. The kitchen staff was overwhelmed and the food took a while to come out to our table (approximately 20-25 minutes). FOOD: My wife and friend shared... House Salad: mixed greens, fromage blanc, cucumbers, tomatoes, Croutons, honey balsamic vinaigrette (4/5). A tasty salad and the fromage blanc was delicious and added a sweet creaminess. Fish Tacos (3): baja-style tacos, Perdition beer-battered rock cod, pico de gallo, salsa verde, cornflakes, corn tortillas (4/5). Crunchy batter with a flakey fish. Russian River Burger: 7oz J Brand beef, malted bacon, white cheddar fondue, arugula, on a sesame seed bun (4/5). Our friend said, "A very good burger!" Haven't been back in awhile, and saw that they changed their back outdoor space, yup, that's how long I haven't been here! We stopped drinking beers and got more into wine. But needed some mouth cleansing and we came back. The back outdoor space doesn't have a big grassy field anymore. It's replaced by sculptures and a bark, and a DG path. They also added some shade covers. It was raining so we didn't drink outside. We got some lunch. It's your basic burgers and sandwiches lunch place. I got a salad and added chicken. Just a basic Caesar salad, it was light and healthy. We got chicken wings (naked) with sauce on the side to start. That was good. If you get them naked and just dip, it's good! This is a huge property that makes their own beer and has some great bar food options. We landed at 7:30 pm and anyone who knows this area, it shuts down tight as a drum after 9 pm. We grabbed a seat and were told we had about 15 minutes before kitchen closed. We decided to all get beers and we ordered some wings. Friends ordered a wrap and fries. Food was very good and fresh and I love both of the different IPAs I ordered. Our bartender/server was just great...as nobody was really there, but he did not rush us or give us the heave ho as they were getting ready to close. Met a friend for dinner and a drink, and we sat at the bar. I was interested in a light brew, but was also intrigued by a beer described as "fruity" on the menu. The bartender offered me a generous sample, which helped me decide. I ordered the beer and fish & chips for dinner. The meal was delicious. Came out her on a weekday for the special Pliney the Younger release. Got here about 8:30am and were about 70th in line, which I hear is comparatively good, they came around stamping hands( they change up the stamp to prevent line jumping), then taking party size, name and applying bracelets. The bracelet limits each person to a max 3 pours of the Younger, and 3 bottle purchase. Got seated about 10:40 , but the wait flew by helped by the almost festival atmosphere amongst those in line(bonded and chatted with 3 guys next to us who had flown up from LA area just for this) 1st, every employee I encountered was friendly and service was top notch. Started with a taster of Russian River 110 and Tempo Change, both were nice, light, but not the reason I came 2+ hours on drive + another 2 in line. The Pliney Younger was as advertised, tasting and drinking lighter than its Triple IPA packing power . Orders some Riccotta donut holes to help ease the consumption of the 3 IPA's and they were fantastic, dense dobut, not overly sweet so the chocolate dipping sauce was a nice touch. We stopped in for their Pliney release and had a fabulous time. All the staff were super friendly. We sat at a community high top table and enjoyed speaking with some of the other guests. The menu at the Windsor location is very different from that of the downtown Santa Rosa location. Arguably, slightly more upscale, and certainly more diverse, there's something for everyone to be found on the menu. The beers, of course, are the center of attraction, and those looking for IPAs won't be disappointed. As a matter of fact, we tasted through a flight of about seven IPAs, spanning the Hays profiled ones through the doubles and more heavily hopped offerings. Service was top notch, and it was nice that the server actually knocked off the tastings for a couple of the samplers we tried. They were hosting Food For Thought that day, and we're generously donating 50% of the proceeds to the charity. I'll raise a glass of that anytime. TL;DR: come for the beer and stay for the food and the very friendly service at the bar We were on a quick weekend trip in Santa Rosa and I had sold it in because of the city's proximity to Russian River Brewing, so of course this was our first stop of the day on our way back to SF. The facility is huge, and there is a ton of parking. I heard it gets insane when they release Pliny the Younger but it was very easy to get parking when we arrived. The restaurant is quite busy, and you can either have your drinks and food in the restaurant or bring your drinks outside to the patio. The patio is really nice with lots of dogs and families and Snoopy themed decor. Because the restaurant was kind of busy on a Sunday, we sat at the bar which was a very good idea - service was excellent and friendly, they were very helpful with choosing beers to sample and very efficient. They have a lot of beers available, all written out on the wall so this is a beer lovers paradise. I ordered a cider. Food was excellent, better than I expected for a place that is so well known for its beer. Fish tacos: crispy and generous sized pieces of fish in a taco topped with lots of coleslaw, salsa and onion Wings: got this with the Pliny sauce and ranch, the Pliny sauce was a little spicy in a good way and overall I liked it Fries: excellent fries, crispy exterior, fluffy interior, went great with the aioli or ranch or ketchup Coleslaw: good, probably didn't need to get this because we had so much food but I like coleslaw Salad: good salad, was perfect to round out the meal for some fiber After you're done feasting, you can do a free tour of the facility which was interesting and it was cool to see their set up from brewing to bottling. read more

Russian River Brewing was a major stopping point on my trip and I made an effort to go to the newer Windsor location for lunch one day. This brewery is huge, it's their main production facility but also has more space for dine-in and shopping. It's by itself in a field with tons of parking, which also seemed friendly to RVs, etc. The main entrance has separate doors for the self-guided and guide led tours, one for the company store and gift shop, and a main one for the brewery restaurant. To the right is a large outdoor area with tables for enjoying drinks and food outside. There's so much space. The self guided tour was quick, mostly basic information about brewing, the brewery itself and ability to see some of the production faculty below. The store is amazing; they have a ton of merchandise for people, pets, Pliny sauce, and of course beer. They have both cans and bottles, everything is priced separately so you can choose whatever you'd like. They also have a shipping option, they'll pack for the plane for $10 extra. The main area has a living style part with big comfy chairs, main dining room with lots of various sized tables, a semi-outdoor porch and multiple bar areas. I had the burger and two half pours that day; the food selection is much larger than at the OG. The staff was super nice. If you're a beer fan, this is a must visit! read more

We're big fans of Russian River Brewing in Santa Rosa, so were excited to check out the big Windsor location. It's quite a big facility, with tours, gift shop, indoor dining, and outside beer garden (no food allowed outside, so drinking only), all on vast and beautiful grounds. We went for dinner. The dining room is large with high ceilings, and was packed on a Saturday. The noise volume was through the roof! Looks like they have sound baffles, but they are not working. The tables are large, probably to accommodate the large flight racks, so spouse and I had to sit side by side to talk. They have a good variety of beers, although I wish they had more porters and stouts. We ordered a flight of all the Belgium beers, plus a few California beers. It was served in a nice rack with bottle cap labels, so it was easy to tell which was which. I ordered the fish tacos, which were very good, with breaded and fried cod, which was plentiful, and Cole slaw and avocado on the taco. Spouse ordered pork sliders which had fried onions and Cole slaw on the sliders. We were happy with both dishes and would order them again. The service was pretty quick, and our server seemed friendly, despite having to shout to be heard. All considered, a great meal, but the noise volume cost them a star. Visited on a Sunday, there was ample parking & no wait to be seated. The restaurant looked very new and clean. We sat near the bar, as it was Football Sunday the people I was with were disappointed there was only one TV to look at the games. The food was good, but I will say it was a little overpriced for what you get. The sweet potato tacos were 90% beans and pico de gallo, the other entree's seemed to be mainly fries, and the donuts were not great. I also assume we maybe came on a bad day, but after ordering it took a very long time to get our food & after food was delivered it took a very long time for anyone to check on us. The bathrooms were also really dirty with the sign saying nobody had cleaned it that day, this was confirmed by the lack of toilet paper, seat protectors, overflowing trash bins & beer glasses. I would come back again to take someone who might be visiting the area, but I don't think this will be a regular spot. read more

Man oh man. What an absolutely amazing experience at Russian River Brewing in Windsor. I visited 10 breweries over 5 days and this was surely in the top spot- though maybe tied with Lagunitas but that's for another review. Let's start with the food. We ordered the sliders and the fish tacos. Fish tacos were full of flavor but were battered a bit heavy. The sliders were awesome. The kids meal was actually a killer value with two sliders and a side of homemade Mac and cheese. Winning! I skipped dessert but my wife ordered the donuts and said they were some of the best she's ever had! Great food! Our service while dining was not exceptional, but it was good. Average wait times and fairly attentive server. Obviously the beer here is why RRBC is a staple of the Northern California brew scene. I cannot say enough good things about their barrel aged beers. Absolutely incredible. Try at least one while you're here since you can't get many of them anywhere else. I bought many to go bottles in the absolutely pristine gift shop which is stocked with all kinds of merch goodies and to go beers. Next up, the brewery tour. For just $20 you can book an exclusive tour of the impeccable brewing facility at RRBC Windsor. You'll try samples of their freshest beers along the way and learn about some of the most unique things they do here that you won't see almost anywhere else. I've done many major brewery tours including Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas, New Belgium, and several local breweries. This tour was the best. Plus you'll walk away with an amazing tour glass which is one of a kind and can't be found in the gift shop. The outdoor space is also killer here. My wife and kids were able to hang out of the property while I went on the tour. Such a fun and kid friendly space! I'm very impressed with RRBC Windsor. I only wish I lived closer! Russian River Brewing Co. is not just a small brewpub anymore. Their Santa Rosa location is still that small brewpub but within the last 5 years they built this monster facility out in neighboring Windsor in a warehouse zone area. This newer facility are multiple buildings that are to produce their products on a much larger scale. Now they can produce for their 2 locations but also can and bottle for widespread distribution. There was a time (2010-2019) where their supply was not meeting demands. I remember jumping through hoops just to get a bottle or 2 of Pliny. Now they are easier to find...all due to this facility. There's also a bar and restaurant here with a huge outdoor patio. They can probably seat over 200 here at a time and there are probably waits during the weekends. The Santa Rosa location may barely get 75 in at a time. There's also a nice gift shop for branded souvenirs and beers for take-away. This is a hoppy beer lovers Disneyland. Tried a small sampler to start. Ended up getting their Simcoe 25 (IPA) and a west coast Pilsner for my 2nd. Both were outstanding as Russian River Brewing just knows how to balance malts with hops, so it isn't so heavy and cloying. Most of their brews are crisp and light yet full of flavor. Wings ($14/4*) Good amount (at least 10) fried to light crisp. Their buffalo sauce is a tad spicier than most but also has this citrus background. They have different styles you can choose from but I'm a buffalo style fan. Their blue cheese is legit as a dip as well. Chicken Caeser Wrap ($18/4.5*) Grilled diced chicken is slightly warm and flavorful. A caeser salad is also studded with chopped bacon and fried onion strips. All these little hits were nonstop deliciousness and I didn't get tired of just lettuce and chicken. Outstanding version of a wrap. I thought that by them getting this big might cause them to lose a bit of quality. But not at all, they actually got better. Resounding fiver outa respect! read more

Great food and drinks. Came here for the Pliny the Younger event and got the try the limited beer along with the DDH Pliny the Elder as well. Pork Schnitzel Sandwich (5/5): The pork schnitzel sandwich has house made dijonnaise, coleslaw, pickles, all on a french roll. HOWEVER, they ran out of french rolls sadly so they asked me if I was OK with ciabatta bread which of course I was OK with after waiting 3 hours in line haha. I was quite sad they were out of french rolls, but the sandwich was still delicious with the ciabatta bread. The bread was softer than I had imagined which was a huge positive! The deep fried pork schnitzel with the fresh pickles and coleslaw is an excellent combination, highly recommend. You can upgrade your side, but I kept the french fries since I really wanted french fries. I don't upgrade to the Pliny fries because I'm not a huge fan of it, seems overpriced for the little toppings they add to your fries, it's not my jam. Fish and Chips (4/5): Now you can choose whether you want 1, 2, 3, or 4 beer battered cod and this entree comes with fries that can be substituted or upgraded as well. The tartar sauce goes well with the fish. The cod is incredibly soft and tasty with the tartar sauce, but I wish it was much crispier, maybe a longer deep frying session! Otherwise, another great dish to pair with your beer or drinks! Beer (5/5): I generally love the beer at Russian River Brewing and recommend trying the tasting menu if you want to taste smaller pours of many of their drinks. They also have limited and new drinks just for the Pliny the Younger event! read more

Not many more shopping days till Christmas.... (April 3) and possibly a better location for Pliny the Younger than the Santa Rosa location. This massive and luxurious place can hold a lot of people and looks like it was built by Steve Wynn. Also dog friendly - a big plus. Pliny the Younger is a once in a lifetime type thing. Maybe on the surface it defies logic to wait in line 3+ hours for a few glasses of beer - and there are probably many nay sayers - but for them its sour grapes. If your not interested in the food it becomes more easy - I'd say show up at 8pm or even 8:30 and at around 9pm they open the flood gates for standing room. If you live very close - just show up at 9pm - otherwise - for a little insurance if you drove from afar - around 8pm is good. The food and menu here is a little different and bigger than the Santa Rosa location. I noticed the bun on my pork burger was delightfully steamed or perfectly lightly toasted or something. The bun itself was of a nice quality brioche and the meat was piled high. Seasoning of coleslaw and meats were beautiful. Your probably coming for the beer - Younger. This location serves technically a different batch than the Santa Rosa location. I had the chance to taste test this beer back to back at the different locations - and maybe it was just in my mind but I did notice a tiny difference? maybe? just call me crazy!! All the bottles are from this location's batch FYI. And crazy this madness is. And I was impressed with the way the bartenders handled the madness. After 9pm when the floodgates opened there was still good order. At the bar I watched the bartenders deal with empties and restocking glasses. Multitasking to the max. Even after your seated - please be patient - especially before you get your first drink. The line wait wasn't so bad - even for dinner service. Bring a friend as crazy as you and its covered in case of rain (I thought the rainy day was a plus - kept away the fair weather fans) - and time passes quickly. There are water stations for you and your pets and some heaters toward the front. Benches line much of the area where you wait - so there isn't much of a need to bring a lawn chair like in Santa Rosa. (I only noticed one person had one - somebody with a disablity). This location was built for this rush season and it shows - from the restaurant to the bar areas to the brewery. Its very impressive beyond what words can describe. Also, the crowd is as friendly as ever - I liked this crowd and enjoyed getting to know people in front and behind in line. Maybe humans should turn off their brains to logic once in a while and just enjoy life. read more

First time at the Windsor location! I love the ambience here and the outdoor seating. I think it's a great place to come and drink with friends and hang out. It feels a lot more open compared to the Santa Rosa location. Great vibes from our server who checked up on us constantly. However I would skip the food if I were coming back. I got the fish tacos and they were so flavorless. It was so bland I didn't even want to keep eating. My friend said the same for their fish and chips. But the Pliny fries and mac and cheese were okay. Definitely recommend those if you want to eat something while you drink. Great beers and selections of taste as always though. read more

BLUF: great beer, beautiful indoor and outdoor seating, and friendly staff. We should have looked at the menu prior to going to the Windsor location as we were hoping for pizza, but we still enjoyed the meal. Our appetizer came at the same time as our food which wasn't ideal, but the food was tasty. Pliny fries were loaded with the cheese fondue ... fries could have been slightly crisper and they would have been epic. Fish and chips were fried perfectly. The burger sliders were good, but needed something additional....maybe more fondue or a jalapeño...something. All in all very good and worth the drive! read more

We had a really great experience at the new-ish Russian River restaurant located in the up-and-coming Beverage District! I personally like it better than the downtown tap room. It's a much bigger menu with more variety for a "full restaurant" experience, and I find the downtown location to be way too congested, and kinda skeezy with too many grossies leering at women. Back to Windsor! It's a beautiful and spacious restaurant with a nice open kitchen and comfy fireplace seating area. The food was great, and the beer is obviously exceptional! Our server was very helpful with selecting the right flight for us and offered a wonderful presentation of their hallmark brews. They also have a nice gift shop and offer self guided tours at your leisure 12-5 or expert tours by appointment. We're looking forward to returning for many more visits and can't wait to enjoy the patio in the spring and summer months. read more

We were very happy with our meals and of. Purse the beer. We had burgers, hummus, and salad. All were good and wonderful experience . Ambiance was perfect for a huge place. Our sever was very attentive. Let's just call this a 5 star. See pix of our food and beer!! Woot. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find such a top notch brewery with a large restaurant and a gift shop attached to the big beer making facility with a bristling open kitchen. It was a very good experience and surely we will come back to enjoy the rustic atmosphere around this hugely modern brewery and its attached restaurant which serves excellent burgers and salads. Their dry bone in chicken wings were the best. read more

dropped by for lunch after some wine tasting. The place is hopping! Missed the 2pm brewery tour by a few minutes (I've heard it's good and worth it!) They have the full line up of Russian River beers / sours. If you can't decide you can do a flight, each 2.5 ounce pour being anywhere between $2 - $2.50/each. They have a double dry hopped pliny the elder. It was so good! I wanted to buy some in the self serve/to go refrigerator, but it needs to be refrigerated and we did not have a cooler :( This is one not to miss. The service is friendly and fast. The food is tasty, generous portions and seasoned well. This is much more spacious than the other location, but the beer is just as excellent! read more
