Conveniently located next to Hampton Inn & Suites in Windsor. Applebee's always have happy hour from 3-6 with half off apps and some drinks. I ordered a medium rare ribeye that was topped with shrimp sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly and the creamy sauce rounded out to a nice bite. The two Moscow mules I had were nice and strong. The ginger beer and citrus were refreshing without overpowering the alcohol. The service was great. Overall, nice dining pit stop for traveling in the area. read more

I now remember why I haven't been back here in 7 years. Ordered the 8oz top sirloin and mash potatoes/brocolli. Steak arrived SOUR and tasted expired, took one bite and reported it to the bartenders. Ordered a chicken quesadilla but they that just went into the trash. -5/10 quality for everything. Asked for a water and got club soda, twice... Guess this place is only good for a $4 vodka club soda that everyone at the bar was ordering. Bartender commented "servers get better tip then bartenders" and yes probably because they give good service and know the food menu. Bartenders at bar- barely pay attention to anyone and just talk about their horrible closing shifts. Will never ever return. read more

I really wanted to get the O M cheeseburger. Looked so good and cheese. Well total disappointment! There was just grated cheese melted on the skillet and I couldn't even scrape it off with a fork. I showed my server and he brought me a side of some sort of cheese but this isnt gooey and disable like the ads show. I didnt eat half of it. The service was horrible. I don't know what the problem was. It wasn't too busy, but it looked like there was issues with food not coming out. We waited about 15 minutes to even get a glass of water took about 10 minutes just to be greeted at the table. Food was normal. We just ordered appetizers, but I did hear the two tables next to us Either had items was missing in their order or it never came. Not sure if there was no staff but it seemed like lots of tables had issues. read more

I was scared to try Applebees but I was medium surprised! Listen it was a nice deal. The wings were chill, I liked the breading. The whiskey burger was well made, but I didn't prefer the whiskey sauce. The sirloin was super good tho! Mashed potatoes and broccoli were pretty flavorless but that dish overall made me feel healthy lol. read more

I went here tonight with a dear friend of mine who has a slight speech impediment. The waitress was INCREDIBLY rude to him when he tried to order so we asked to speak to the manager who was neither helpful nor apologetic! It was very upsetting to both of us. To "apologize" he got his meal and drink for free. We had planned on ordering more but after that we decided to go elsewhere where we were treated like humans! This is entirely unacceptable behavior from both of them! There are a lot of people in this world with visible and invisible issues. To be treated as subhuman is disrespectful, disgusting behavior, and plain rude! We were prepared to drink as well and planned to tip above the "average rate" since we're those type of people who appreciate GOOD customer service. If you have any different "abilities" (or don't fit the 'average' boxes- STAY VERY FAR from this establishment! In Windsor for the first time and just finished coaching a volleyball match that ended late at night, there were not a lot of dining options, so we headed to Applebee's! There have been mixed reviews on Yelp, but we had an excellent experience, especially with our terrific server, Heather. We went with their 2 for $26 special and had a standard but tasty cheeseburger and freshly cooked crispy fries, along with their buffalo style boneless chicken wings appetizer which was good as well. Our friend also enjoyed their margarita flight, with the mango margarita being a favorite, and their chocolate milkshake and draft beer options were excellent as well. All in all, exceeded our expectations, especially for late night eats! Kudos again to our server who really was wonderful and attentive. read more

We had dinner at Applebees recently and had the best dining experience. Julie, our sweet server, could not have been more attentive to our requests. The food was exact to order and hot. We were looking for something to eat late at night after a show at LBC. We landed at Applebee's in Windsor. The place was nice and clean, well lit and was not crowded. The service was great. We have been to Applebee's before but it has been several years for me. Three of us ordered the Oriental Chicken Salad as my wife and her sister loves these. One in our party ordered the 8oz Top Sirloin cooked medium. We received our orders and I picked up the bread stick and found it to be very hard. I did not even attempt to eat it. The salad was drenched with dressing. I like dressing but not when it takes over the entire salad. The lettuce was soggy, not crisp and the fried chicken pieces were really dry. All in our party were in agreement that it was not the same salad they have received in the past. The individual that ordered the steak said it was okay, cooked medium but lacked any real flavor. We were all a little disappointed in the meals but on a plus side, they have some really good deals and it did not cost us a lot of money. I like to support our local businesses and on this day we support this local favorite. Delicious food, has everything from grilled sandwiches to Ribs and Tri-tip, may I suggest the ribs so finger liking good. The Lime chicken breast is also one of my favorites, do switch the rice for veggies or the mash potatoes. They do offer a wide variety of cocktails. Service is excellent, our waitress was on top of it "sorry" I did not get her name but this was on a Tuesday afternoon. She had a smile on her face every time she came to check if we needed anything else. Ambiance is casual, family friendly environment. I recommend this restaurant for family dinner after a day on the town green then stop by for a good margarita and good food. 5 stars for this restaurant my friends. read more

Holy redemption. Despite my pleas and protests my coworkers dragged me out to this Applebees for happy hour. My last experience at this location had me vowing to never return but after today I think I may have been a bit to harsh so here's my updated review: We stopped by with a group of 3 and sat at the bar, it was fairly empty when we arrived and we were among the firsts to beat the dinner rush. Service at the bar was quick and the bartender was really personable and friendly. We opted for happy hour appetizers and drinks. I was immediately sold on the dollaritas ($1 margaritas for the month of October!) The margaritas were a little watered down in my opinion but still good for the price point. For apps we went with wings, mozzarella sticks and wonton tacos. Everything came out quickly and was quite good. We enjoyed our apps and drinks at the bar and before we knew it the place was packed. Happy to say that experience today was the total opposite of what I experienced the last time I was here. 8/10 for happy hour apps and drinks. Our tab for 3 people was $34 and we each had 3 margaritas and food. We were shocked and kept checking the receipt lol. Such a vast improvement in service and staffing overall - we will be returning. read more

We took our kids their to end their birthday weekend with a nice dinner. It started out ok, and the waitress was patient because there were 5 of us trying to figure out what we want. After bringing out waters, the waitress went over to talk to another table who were apparently her "regulars," and hadn't seen them in a while. It took her another 10 plus minutes to get back to our table and took food orders, but never took our drink order. Then it became ridiculous. The waitress spent all her time at a table talking to people she clearly knew, showing them pictures from her phone. It took about a half hour for our food to come out, when I was finally able to order a drink. The waitress then came back out and told us someone had sampled our fries (besides the cook why?) and said they may be a little cold, so she was bringing us more. At that point we didn't care as everything was taking too long. I finally got my drink half way through finishing dinner, and either had to drink it quickly or give up on it, yet would still have to pay for it. The food wasn't that good. My wife's steak and potatoes had no flavor, and my whiskey burger had about 3 inches of lettuce on it, which I had to take off to make able to eat. I couldn't flag the waitress down for even mustard after that, as she was upset because we were and had mentioned it to another staff member about the service. Definitely will not be going to this particular Applebee's again, and if the food is similar at the next Applebee's, will be ok of finding somewhere new to go. read more

I'm not sure if it was just an off day but the energy here was not great. Our server was also the bartender and maybe she was having a bad day. The location was clean. We ordered the chicken sandwhich and cheese burger specials for $9.99. Our daughter ordered off the kids menu. The fries were cold and had obviously been sitting out for a while. It was disappointing. I really look forward to the fries because we don't eat them very often. I will say that the chicken sandwhich was amazing. The chicken patty was big and my husband's burger was also really good. The meat was excellent. I appreciate being welcomed and treated like a valued customer. That was not the case at this location. Servers should smile at their customers. If our server were friendlier I would have given 4 stars. read more

DO NOT ORDER SHRIMP HERE! If I could give ZERO stars, I WOULD! The evening of October 12th, 2024 I made the mistake of ordering the Tex-Mex Shrimp Bowl. 5 hours later, havoc was unleashed. Nothing seemed wrong with my food, until it was digesting (or lack thereof). I don't know how the kitchen handles meat/seafood but the health department needs to get involved with this particular Applebee's. Who knows how many people the kitchen staff has nearly killed. Completely ruined my weekend with the food poisoning I suffered. On the plus side, I lost 3lbs from everything that was exiled from my digestive tract. Service was good. I stopped in for a drink after work, wearing a coat and tie. The bartender and manager assumed I had been at a wedding and had been drinking too much which wasn't the case. I was simply meeting two friends staying at the Hampton Inn. From the start, the bartender was dismissive and rude, barely acknowledging us. When we tried to order margaritas, she repeatedly said she was too busy to help and then essentially gave us the silent treatment for the rest of our visit. There were seven of us in total. At one point, a worker dropped off a hamburger and fries at the bar. None of us had ordered it, but it sat there for about 15 minutes. Eventually, one of my friends assumed it had been forgotten and ate a few fries. Nearly 20 minutes later, the bartender came over and snapped, "That isn't your burger!" We told her we knew but pointed out that it had been sitting there untouched. She responded in a very nasty tone, saying that now the person who actually ordered it would have to wait another 30 minutes. The entire experience felt judgmental and unprofessional. It truly seemed like we were being treated poorly just because of how we were dressed. I won't be coming back. read more

On 06/24/2022 Once again enjoyed the place thoroughly. It was more lively than other days. Staff was very welcoming, excellent servers and service. We ordered Beer on the Tap - Stella, Blue Moon and then another Stella. Appetisers ordered were - wings, pretzels and Spinach Artichoke Dip with chips. Everything was just perfect. I went to Applebees yesterday during my lunch break for a quick meal. There was one other person in the restaurant. No one was at the door to greet or seat me, so I walked up and sat at the bar. Bartender asked if I wanted a drink and a menu- yes! I asked for ice water. At this point there was one other customer at the bar who was drinking and chatting with the one waitress and bartender. There was a sign on the door saying Tuesday burgers $9.99. They have a variety of burgers available on the menu. So I called over the bartender who was chatting with the other customer and the waitress. I asked what the Tuesday burger special was.. she looked at me and said I don't know, I have been gone for 8 months. She then asked the waitress who was still chatting with the other customer, the waitress did not know. She called over the manager who said I don't know, I'm new. I said great no one knows! I continued to look at the menu as the bartender and waitress went back talking to the customer. At this point their conversation was about the Russian River Pub, the waitresses mom used to work there.. and the customer and waitress were saying if your not from the River, you are not in their group they are different people. I live in Forestville! At this point I was out of water and frustrated. I called over the bartender asked for more water. She said oh I didn't realize it was empty! Well of course she didn't she was busy chatting with the other customer. I ordered a bowl of French onion soup, ate it as fast as possible. Gave the bartender my card to run and she said next time I'll be sure to know what specials are, I just got back from maternity leave. Maybe she should have researched the specials instead of gossiping with the other customer. Horrible service, unprofessional and lazy. Please tell your staff to be careful what they say because, you never know who is around and where people are from. The set up is the same, sports bar and grill vibes for ambiance. Lots of TVs going with different sports programs, lively, upbeat environment. We had lunch at the Applebee's on Brooks Road. No one was there. We sat down and immediately our server, Christine was there. Don't know if it was magic but she just appeared! She was delightful. She gave us ample time to check out the menu. We decided on the 2 for $26. Our appetizer was the chicken nuggets with buffalo sauce and dipping sauces of blue cheese and ranch. Delicious! Chicken was hot and juicy....not dry. Hubby ordered the ribs and I ordered the hamburger. It was perfect. Only issue for me was my fries were little too salty. read more

After going to watch my grandson play the JV football game at Windsor High last week, my husband and sister & I stopped at Appleby's for a cocktail and a bite to eat. In spite of the place not very busy in the bar area or restaurant, it took a full 15 minutes to serve our drinks and it looked like there wasn't a bartender. My husband's drink didn't taste right and my drink was sent to the wong table. Our food was slow to arrive, we couldn't find the server to get our check and was left to our own devices to figure out the stupid "self-serve" device on the table. I won't be going back. read more

At this point, I'm not sure why I keep going to Applebees, be it this Windsor location or the Santa Rosa Ave location. Every. Single. Time. I order Carside pickup, these locations never even pay attention to this service that they supposedly offer. Every time I have to call and say "I'm here!" Ok so Applebee's....O Applebee's. One of the few locations opened in Windsor late at night. When we have an event at the High School with our kids or our teens friends want a late evening with food, we end up going to good old Applebee's at least once or twice a month. I know... don't judge. What is sad is this place is just terrible and I am not even talking about the food. In the four years we have been coming here consistently only one time I remember we had great service. You do not come to Applebee's for the food. The food works, it's ok. It's comfort food that hits the stop when you are hungry. There are phenomenal choices in Windsor if they were open, so Applebee's holds the monopoly in this time slot. Ok so this rating is not about the food at all. We all know what is there. We see all the advertisements. I don't have to describe any of the choices we made when we go there. We all love fried cheese - Mozella sticks...who doesn't except our lactose friends. We all love a late night bacon burger or a cheap water down alcoholic beverage.....no this is not about the food. This review is all about the service. The service at that location is just worse than terrible. Words I cannot even say in this review. I am a returning customer and contemplated complaining to management - why I haven't I do not know. It must be a culture thing here. I tip well above average, and we always try to be super friendly to the servers. We bring a lot of teens and I always tell the waitress that we will pay them what they deserve. Yeah, even without the teens with only adults, the service here is just wrong. Just last week, I asked for napkins, I had a BBQ craziness item I was eating. Yeah, napkins never came back. My daughter and her little friend (both 14) just needed straws, yeah, no straws...not a thing they understand, I guess. I am a sucker because I am likely going to go back again. Yes, because it's one of the few places open. This is the worst food I've had since the last time I ate at an Applebee's. Honestly it's on me - I booked my hotel because the app said the onsite restaurant was open, that turned out to be a lie.
