Parking behind building, valet only. No valet to be seen when we arrived, yet a guy ran up to my car once I was almost parked.

We started out with Martinis- Passionfruit and Pear. Both were excellent. In fact, we couldn't figure out which one we like better. The passionfruit had a lot of bouncy personality, while the pear wasn't overly sweet, but very mellow. A basket of delicious sourdough and cranberry and walnut bread was brought to the table. Entrées consisted of Filet Mignon Medallions with Grilled Shrimp and Chicken Parmesan. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Dessert was perfection! Solid amount of parking available of this very cool, "old school" butcher shop. In this instance, "old school" means an absolute full service butcher shop, where they treat the customers well! It felt like a family affair, the nice young man that took my order gave helpful advice. They cut "country pork chops" to order, they cooked very nicely in a sauce. I also picked up their sweet pork sausage, also great in the sauce. Perhaps the highlight for me were a couple of super tender and beefy NY strips! Had a great experience at Wyckoff Prime Meats and I'll be back!

Pairing seared scallops with a version of eggplant parmesan didn't feel cohesive, and the flavors competed rather than complemented one another. As for the appetizers, they fell flat. The hamachi lacked brightness and flavor, and the ground tuna and salmon quenelles did not taste particularly fresh. I do want to emphasize that the service was excellent, as it always has been, and the restaurant remains beautiful, clean, and well maintained. That consistency is part of why I've been a loyal guest for so many years. I'm sharing this because I care about the restaurant and hope this was simply an off night.
