We've had plenty of bad experiences with Chinese buffet seafood making us feel sick--pretty sure I'm not the only one--but that has never happened here. The food is always freshly steamed and served hot when you order. I'm not a big fan of overly salty, heavy American-style seasoning, so I really appreciate that they can prepare it without all that. Also, my daughter doesn't eat much seafood, but they're flexible and let us order something simple like a mozzarella stick for her, which is a huge plus. Yes, there's an 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or more, but it feels fair for the quality and service. The gumbo you can order on the side is amazing, and the crab legs, mussels, clams, and shrimp are all fresh and delicious. It's $58.99 per person, which isn't cheap, but definitely worth it. Highly recommend.

The service was also thorough and professional, which made the experience even better. The portions are huge, so I'd recommend coming with more people to really try a variety of dishes and make the most of it. We live about 40 minutes away, so it would probably be more of an occasional treat for us, but if you're ever in the area, it's worth checking out.

I was impressed when it was a variety of boutique oysters - Sweet Jesus, Ford Signature and Tangler. They were all very good and clean, I do wish they had remembered to bring the mignonette. The ceviche was fresh and flavorful. For entrees my husband got the Ribeye Special topped with a lobster sauce served with mushrooms and mashed potatoes. Steak was cooked perfectly and quality cut. My son got the filet and mushrooms with chorizo mac and cheese. Again, cooked well and quality cut. The mac and cheese was VERY good. I was a smidge complicated as I wanted the blackened scallop pasta but with shrimp and oysters instead. Zero problems. Penne pasta in a tequila lime sauce with peppers and onions. Delish! Our daughter got the steak and mashed potatoes off the kids menu and thoroughly enjoyed it. Restaurant was clean, there was plenty of staff and the manager stopped by a couple times to check on us or clear plates. It was a great experience and we'd definitely go back.

A tad disappointed that happy hour was restricted to the bar. Ordered lobster roll Connecticut style. Loved this style, as it is pure lobster. Wife ordered clam chowder and cornbread. This was number one on the list when I searched best restaurants in Reston and it did not disappoint! Heirloom is tucked away in the distillery and has a cozy speakeasy feel with green velvet booths and an eclectic seafood forward menu. Cocktails : Manhattan - top notch My sweet side piece - fun presentation with table side bubbles! Feels a bit like a fall drink. Warm spice. Very tasty and too easy to drink fast lol Apps: We got the baked shrimp and the beef carpaccio. Both outstanding and so flavorful. Just needed some bread to soak up the sauce in the baked shrimp. The lemon rind in the shrimp was a perfect compliment to the sauce and the carpaccio was perfectly seasoned and the thinnest slices I have ever had which made it delicate and delicious. Entrees: We got the sea bass and the short rib bolognese. Blown away by how good both of these were and so very different. The short rib bolognese had a rich but not heavy flavor with fresh pasta and a delightful velvety spiciness - not heat though. The sea bass was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked with a carrot ginger puree that was sublime with the spinach and fish. We loved both of these entrees. Really wanted dessert but sadly not more room which was better for our stomachs and our wallets. It's not a cheap endeavor here but worth the cost for a fabulous meal out and a very cool vibe.

It's a family owned business and you can definitely feel the family atmosphere! I provided the amount of folks I wanted to feel and the variety of fish I was hoping to pick up! Whether you are in the market for some oysters, lobsters, etc., they have everything! I also learned they frequent a lot of the local farmer's markets! I've gotten live lobster from here and steamed them at home during the summer- had a great experience with fresh lobsters! I recently tried the lobster rolls and it was fine. I'm not sure if I'll be back for the rolls, but I will for live lobsters. Lobster rolls are $20.20 for 1. They can assemble it for you, or you can take them home, toast it and assemble. I recommend the latter and add butter to the rolls. I also added a big squeeze of lemon before eating. I've had better, but in a pinch these are good. I think I'm partial to Connecticut lobster rolls. Out of curiosity, I weighed each container of meat. One came out to 4.58 oz and the other 4.66 oz (including the container, which on its own was about 0.7-0.8 oz). Loved the bread- soft and even better with the slight buttery toast. On another note, I know it's not peak season for anything, but the fish under the glass counter looked a little gray and sad. I will be back during the summer. :)

Besides the crab cakes, we also liked the shrimp. The fish and the wings were just fine, but nothing exceptionally special in our opinion. Don't skip out on the hush puppies! Our first visit last summer we came at 5pm and thought we'd be fine getting a table for 3- it was the very last one. I guess depending on the day and time it can get packed!! The wait was longer than I expected, but understandable considering how busy they were- it seemed like everyone showed up at the same time. Vibes were good, their music playlist was great. We realized we were pretty casually dressed and weren't there to eat a whole lot of food. So, we simply got the Passion Fish Roll (Raw Sushi BTW), a Crispy Buttermilk Fried Calamari, a Rockfish, a side of Sweet Potato Fries and Mac & Cheese. For our drinks, got a couple of Rum & Cokes and a Shirley Temple. The ambiance was pleasant for the most part, as we enjoyed the conversations and the food when each of the plates came out. Just that the service was kind of bias and rude. We could all feel that the waitress was kind of in a bad mood, maybe expecting us to order more dishes and drinks. Anyhow, we noticed the portions were kind of on the smaller side compared to the prices. But taste-wise, everything was pretty good. The Rum and Cokes were fine, a little pricey, but decent. Another thing we observed was that the server never asked us if we wanted more refills or dessert. After she saw that we were done with our food, she simply put the check on the table and that was that. We were full, but we still wanted more bread and drinks, so not sure why she felt like we were going to leave and ready to pay when we didn't even ask for the check, yet. Kind of rude and inconsiderate of her towards the customers, no??? We had to open a new tab after paying for the main one since she thought we were going to leave right away after having our entrees...

Nothing exceptional but good quality, good food And a fair amount of steak in mine for $16. I wish I could say the same about the service or lack there of provided by the two young female servers. For starters, they have zero communication skills. They drop things at the table and just stand there without a word. I did not receive the Vietnamese coffee that I ordered until I asked for it nor was I asked whether or not I wanted it with whipped cream - there's was no description on the menu so I wasn't aware it came with whipped cream. When we placed our order we asked for extra cilantro and received no cilantro at all. Once the runner delivered our food no one came over to ask how everything had turned out, if we needed anything else etc. The lack of communication, lack of attention to detail and quite frankly complete lack of personality turned a pleasant afternoon meal into a disappointment. It's a shame because I saw several other things on the menu that I'd like to try but I'm not interested in being in that unpleasant atmosphere again
