Went there for the first time. Customer service was good. The cashier was very nice. I was there around 6am, and walked in and out, no line. She was saying that 6am was a good time to come. Arrived at 9pm on Thursday night, when they're supposed to be open until Midnight. The entire display is empty and you can only order from the photo menu but every other donut we requested (because it didn't say SOLD OUT) was sold out. The two ladies working the counter did not want to be there and were making "secret" eyes and hand gestures at each other as we checked out. One was the least helpful person I've ever come into contact with (not to be dramatic). When asked what's in/on that donut? She literally said, "I don't know". Cool. Anyway, we ended up with 6, half were okay and the other half were gross. Not because it's 9pm, they just tasted terribly fake. The minute we walked out the door, at 9:08, they turned off all the lights in the store and closed. If they close at 9, fine. But change the business hours on Yelp, Apple Maps, their website, etc. read more

Great place to get your donuts. I got the half dozen holiday and half regular donuts. The holiday ones are definitely the ones to go. They got blueberry donuts, coffee glaze, and so much more. The best to go in the mornings if you want fresh donuts. Will go there again next time read more

This place is thee absolute WORST place to buy a donut. Do yourself a favor and stick to the small mom and pops donut shops. They're a lot faster, more nice & why wouldn't you support a small business over a chain anyways? I went this morning because it was close, sat in the drive through for almost 10 mins with only three cars in the line... me being the third. Since they took so long I backed up and parked to go inside thinking it would be a lot faster & it definitely was not. Every worker in the place moves as slow as possible, there's a girl taking care of the drive though, one girl taking care of the dining room who also happens to be taking the drive through orders meaning she cannot tend to the walk-in customers... why do you need two people taking care of the drive through? And even if it's needed then still why are you so SLOW! The dining room cashier that was also taking drive through orders took care of two customers slowly, then proceeded to tell me she'll be right back and proceeded to take a drive through order... why? Theres already one girl taking cash and handing out orders in the drive through window! To say the least rn... the way this place operates is completely backwards and it's no wonder they're having locations close down & I'm also not surprised that this place was only busy a few weeks as it opened. Now its extremely slow. Maybe it's the service... this isn't the first time either. I've been there when I'm thee only car and it still takes me over 7 mins to get an order in pay and leave. Its a "fast food" joint when ya think about it and its a drive through. All you are doing is putting a product in a bag, charging someone and letting them leave. This should take no less than 3-4 tops and thats being generous imo. Theres no reason it should take me 15-20 mins to get a donut with 3 cars in the drive through. In the end I ended up just leaving with no donut because I've already waited 10 mins in the drive though for it to not move. Im definately not waiting another 10 mins inside while the cashier in the dining room attends to drive through duties because the drive through person is incapable. First time trying this donut with my kids. We arrived at LAX around midnight with 2 kids, tired and hungry. We saw this drive thru and decided to get some for pur breakfast tomorrow. End up we ate some of them in the car while driving to the hotel. Thumbs up for making donuts not too sweet! Love all the sections that we chose. Here are the six left that we will eat this morning. We love res velvet cake, bacon maple, matcha flavor, and even the classic long john chocolate. We will be back. Wish they have travel boxes so we can bring it back to our cities by plane. Fresh and creatively fun donuts. My favorite go to is just a good old raspberry filled donut. I've also had the strawberry filled, and it's great too. I waited until the hype of this new location in Costa Mesa died down, and now I never have a problem feeding my soul down bellow. I'm not much for coffee so on a cold morning on my first visit I treated myself to their hot chocolate and in my opinion it was way more rich and decadent than any other coffee chain I've tried. We got a set of 6 assorted donuts. Only one of them was soft; the rest were a bit stiff and stale. By morning the 5 stiff donuts got rock solid and were almost inedible. Plenty of other small donut shops around offer donuts that can last a week. Never coming back here again. read more

I used to live in Gardena right around the corner from that location. What a surprise to find out your new location in Costa Mesa was right around the corner here . Jimmy and I decided to go for a walk and we walked in a nice gentleman helped me dog friendly very important, He was very kind and courteous now my favorite are the buttermilk bars I took a picture and better then ever and believe it or not bigger doughnuts .Delish .... There drive was busy this afternoon when I got there just like 445 am in the morning when I drive by on my way in to a clients always busy ALWAYS GOOD and they make the best half and half's half coffee half hot chocolate omg so good with a dolup of whip cream it's 24 hours good to know if I'm up and can't sleep there always open.... read more

Finally a Randy's donuts opened up in Orange County! A staple of LA that has now expanded into OC. It's been less than a month since the grand opening and I heard the drive-thru line was insanely long, but not at 3am...lol! We had already planned on making our first visit sometime after midnight, just to avoid the crowds. Now waking up at 2:30am from a short nap, we knew it was time! Drive-thru is open 24/7, and there was absolutely no line at this time of the night. We ordered 4 donuts and they graciously gave us one regular glazed for free! I heard they were doing that when they first opened, but I didn't expect them to still be doing it. We were happily surprised though by the free fifth donut. If you've never had a Randy's donut, then here's your chance...but also, how is that possible...lol! Only Randy's has that very specific texture to the middle of each donut, that you can taste with every bite. You will know what I mean when you sink your teeth into one. Went there at 2:30 am. The guy talking in the drive through was so high he could barley talk. After 15 minutes of trying to get him to understand my order we just gave up. But we were trapped in the drive through and we saw the guy in front of us trying to convince the employee to take his card just because he was way too high. read more

Not worth the rude employees or long wait. My husband and I have gone twice and the drive through line was so long we thought we'd go at 5am. And beat the crowd. This morning we got in line at 4:47am for the drive through. (*They don't serve inside the store until 5:30am but drive through is 24/7*). After the car in front of us got out of line and drove away, we were thinking we'd get served sooner. At 5:11am the line had not moved. There were only two cars in front of us. They guy working the drive through yelled into their microphone and said "I'll be right back!" At this point I got out of the car snd went in the store and asked if i could just buy 2 donuts. I don't need boxes and boxes, just 2 donuts. There were at least 10+ staff inside. One girl told me they're not open and go back in the drive through. So I did, and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally we pulled up ready to place our order. "We'll take a bacon maple, and a lemon filled donut." The giy said "we don't have any of those" Ok so we tried to order a chocolate long john and a cream filled long john. Nope! So I asked they guy "why are you open if you don't have anything on the menus?" Then I got yelled at instead if saying sorry and maybe making a suggestion of a popular donut they DID have in stock...he said "I don't like your attitude!!" And I said "I don't appreciate waiting a half an hour for two donuts you don't even have." And drove away never to come back. Side car donuts is supreme and there are tons of mom and pop donut shops that are kind to their customers. Also, all their employees park i. The parking lot making it 3 - 4 available parking soots for walk in customers. . Randy's you had one chance to make a good impression to your local neighbors and blew it by very rude employees and lack of efficiency to serve your customers. I will never be a customer there. Not sure why the hype? Always have seen the one in L.a and then crowds (maybe just because tourist attraction?) No other customers at this location (I wonder why?), looked like a ghost town. Was almost $30 for a simple dozen of the most basic donuts and 2 small milks. Donuts were nothing special, the chocolate bars were like way too gooey texture. Cake donuts were nothing special, a bit too soft as well. Prefer the standard mom and pop type places over this any day of the week for also much cheaper price. Worst service!!! I have been wanting to try these donuts for months now ever since I passed by the location in Inglewood. I had no idea there was one close to me in Costa Mesa, but I was curious if it was opened because it was completely empty around 6:15pm today September 16th. I went through the drive thru and experienced the worst service. The worker there kept raising her voice at me through the speaker saying to speak up. I then drove to the drive thru window and she was extremely rude. I went to the drive thru because she clearly could not hear what I was saying. I asked her a question and then she repeatedly told me that I was not speaking loud enough when I was . Then she walked away from the drive thru window as I was asking her a question. The other worker next to her came to the window and did not acknowledge us she was just there watching us and giving us a bad look. Me and my mother were looking forward to try this place but now I will never come to this place again worst service! I feel so sorry for this place thinking that these two workers are taking care of the business and being polite to the customers when clearly they are doing the opposite. read more

Waited in line for 1 hr & 58 mins - got to the drive thru @ 9:58pm tonight to order & they only had 7 out of 20 donuts that we wanted to order. They only had chocolate donuts, glazed raised, maple raised and a few other shitty ones. I have been twice and both times it was great. I parked and walked in. Both times I was standing close to the sidewalk on Harbor and the first day, opening morning, was a bit longer but that was due to the ribbon cutting and press causing a pause. Day one I tried (don't judge) a Crondy which is like a cronut, glazed donut (free on opening day), the one that is like the Samoa girl scout cookie and bacon maple bar. The bacon maple was the most amazing thing...much better and bigger than the premium donut shop in town. The caramel iced w/toasted coconut and chocolate stripes is delicious! I enjoyed the taste of all the donuts. The raised are a bit denser than others around town, so if you like light and airy then this is not the place for you because these donuts have substance to them. Speaking of substance, the jelly donuts are quite heavy as they have so much jelly in them, it's amazing! Apple fritter, bear claw and cinnamon rolls (fancy) are a great size and wonderful. Donuts are a modes $1.40- classic $1.60 deluxe $1.90 -fancy $2.95 premium. The premiums are basically everything that has fancy toppings like churros, cereal, s'mores, oreos, etc... The first thing that I noticed when I opened the box was a strong poignant smell of old grease coming out. These are the worst donuts I have ever tasted and I am a donut connaisseur. TLDR; Donuts don't taste horribly but I promise you it is not worth the 2 hour wait, when not everything is even available. Also saw someone touching the donuts w their bare hands- no gloves, someone wearing black with a short haircut. I had no idea how new this place was but drove by tonight and my interest was piqued. Showed up at 11, figured since it was late it wouldn't be too long. Boy I wish I could have talk myself out of it. I read past reviews while in line and didn't see it mentioned just how long it took so I decided to give it a chance, then found out they just opened. 30 minutes in, felt too invested to leave, 1 hour in, even more so, finally after another additional hour we had ordered and left. Taste test- they're not overly amazing but at least they weren't bad tasting, so there was some relief that my time wasn't wasted. There were no fancy donuts, maybe 3 of the prior level, and even the basics they only had like 4 flavors. The girl ringing ppl up was really nice though so they have that going for them at least. I'm a huggeeeee dark chocolate fan & have been craving donuts for about a month now! Hubs was in CM & decided to surprise me & bring home a 1/2 dozen of my usual faves, which are chocolate French crullers (they're hard to find these days, so THANK YOU for making them!), chocolate twists & chocolate devils food! That was a nice treat! Since I did not go in, I never got to see the variety they have. This was our 1st time going to Randy's! The donuts were soft & chewy! They were good but a bit TOO sweet! These donut's are extremely addicting! Some of the regular or extreme donuts are mediocre to me but the 2 donuts that stand out to me are their Crondys (Donut/Croissant) and the crumb donut. These 2 donuts have flavors like an expensive dessert and not a typical morning donut. In general, I enjoy Randys over the other donut places because the flavor profile is better and it taste really fresh. I think I ate like 4 donuts my first box here! read more

Just got a dozen doughnuts here. Terrible doughnuts. Probably the worst I've ever had. Maple just flaked/chipped off like peeled paint. Was so weird. Old fashioned were inconsistent. Honestly this is a basic donut place. They need to clean the machines cooking the donuts. The donuts had an oily taste from old oil. The floor is so dirty. They don't sweep up at all.
