Not my most favorite Rancho but still a great choice if you are looking for great fruits and veggies at wonderful prices. For Utah County you can't beat this place. This place is small, loaded with items and always busy. If you are okay with longer lines and trying to fight the crowd then have at it. Since this is the only Rancho in Utah County it is always packed with people. The aisles are really narrow and if you have a shopping cart be prepared to fight for space with other carts. They don't always have the items listed on their weekly specials so don't have a giant shopping list and expect everything in one stop. Mostly this is due to space. I will say that they have a lot of veggies and fruits considering the size. The produce area is always packed full and during the warmer months the tent out front has some of the weekly specials on display. For what they have, they do an amazing job. The bakery here is amazing though! I've tried many pastries and breads and everytime I've not been disappointed! Parking is tough even though it is a big lot. There are many businesses in the area so be prepared to circle. The staff at this location are alright. It's pretty hit and miss. Not as chatty as the other stores in Salt Lake and some are less friendly than expected. Again I'll blame being such a small location and having to do a lot of work to keep up with demand. Event hough it's small, they are constantly receiving and restocking their items. Shelves are neat and bins are filled full of items. If you're looking for essentials come here. Specialty things might be a little harder to find though compared to other stores. read more

The service is poor but the products are mostly good. I enjoyed the selection of items and the produce is great. The prices are nice but the part that they need to fix is the service. When you are a business, you work to keep customers and you attempt to be accommodating within reason. I will not understand why I was not helped when I went to the butcher section. There were two women there and they were not cleaning, cutting nor servicing another customer. They chose to ignore both me and my son. I walked to where the shrimp was and waited. They both looked at me. I walked over to where the ticket dispenser was and found that there were no tickets. They looked at me. My son got upset and reminded me to never reward stores that treat you poorly with your money. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. I could not find the avocados that were on special. I walked around the store four times and could not get help. I had to ask other customers and they didn't find them either. I went to the check out and asked the cashier, Katty, if they were out of avocados. She turned to the other cashier and asked in Spanish. Neither one of them knew if they had any avocados. (I happen to understand Spanish...surprise!) Katty tells me that they probably have the little ones. I told her that those are the ones in their ad and they are what I was looking for. She didn't bother. She shrugged her shoulders. Also, she greeted other customers but didn't greet my son or me. I needed the produce that I bought for dinner but my son's words rang in my head. This is an absolute gem in Provo. They have almost everything you would ever need--if you you are looking for ingredients in Latin food--be it fresh, shelf stable, frozen, refrigerated, etc. They had sweet limes! Never had them? They are fantastic. They had frozen guanábana, mango, and passion fruit pulp. They had delicious Mexican pastries. They had Malta (not India though). They had plátanos, guineos rulos, and guayabas. Disappointed!!! I really wanted a bowl of menudo. After being charged $12.98, I thought I would have gotten something better than what tasted like meat with water. After explaining this to the supervisor, they refused a refund. The ladies in the kitchen also made me feel bad by saying I had been eating it for a while, and I completely disagree! They got cheap produce... you can get about 2 tons of limes for a nickel, which is a really good deal (that may be an exaggeration). That is the one thing it has that no where else (so far) has, and if you want a delicious quesadilla throw some of that on a griddle let it char with some fried veggies, throw some meat on, wrap it in a tortilla... freaking delicious. Recently went to Rancho's and it has expanded since the last time I was there last year. More aisle space, brighter, and better organized! Don't get intimidated by not knowing Spanish, because Spanish or not we're all there for the deals :D Their produce is a steal! For example, if you need tomatoes, avocados, and colorful bell peppers check this place out first! Whoa... Excellent food for excellent prices. at the little restaurante at the back, I ordered two burritos, uno de buche y uno de carnitas. Wow, those burritos were delicious. When you go here, you are walking right into Mexico, which I love! The produce is great and the prices are embarrassingly cheap! I speak "baby" Spanish, but they are so sweet with me and always take time to explain everything. Once I left my purse in the outdoor bins in front, and they FOUND it and brought it to me when I told them I lost it. Every penny was still in there! The meat is great, and the baked goods are so perfectly Mexican tasting! We ate in their little restaurant and it was the genuine taste! I am totally addicted to this wonderful Mercado! As a grocery store they're ok. As a restaurant their food is fantastic! So why one star? Well, it would be fantastic if I could get it. They are open till 9. The ladies in the restaurant have turned me away four times in a row for asking for food "too late". So let me ask you: is 7:00 too late to cook something that takes 30 mins max to cook? How unprofessional. As if to rub salt in it (funny, that would be a pun if they actually cooked) they're very rude. No apologies. No one back there speaks English, but I speak fluent Spanish. I love this place for veggie and fruit deals. Also, get there early on Sunday for delicious tacos! I love that they have the grilled veggies that they add to your plate. The tacos also come in generous proportion of meat and they aren't greasy like a lot of places. My friend is a vegetarian and he can't eat any of the meat tacos and the lady was nice enough to give him 4 taco skins to eat with the DIY salsa bar. You need to give this place a go! read more

Remarkable food. Looking for breakfast, and not wanting to go to one of those "American diners" just to feel gross I found this place by accident. I was looking for Whole Foods and this place came up. Following a prompting that there might be a small deli style restaurant, the frenzy was on. I ordered a #15 and had my way with it.
