I went in to use the ATM and asked for assistance when it malfunctioned. The store manager (an older woman with highlights) immediately became dismissive, telling me to "call the ATM company." When I tried to clarify, she became defensive, stating she had "nothing to do with it." I walked away to avoid further conflict and said quietly I would let the store take care of things as they saw fit. She chose to yell after me in a petty and hostile tone in front of multiple other customers. After looking online, I realized this is a documented pattern and has happened to a ton of people. This specific manager has multiple complaints dating back over 6 months minimum regarding hostility and, more disturbingly, allegations of forbidding customers from speaking preferred languages or being hostile toward foreign accents. Both are potential civil rights violations and clear instances of discrimination. I filed a formal complaint with corporate. No customer should feel unsafe or witness discriminatory behavior in a place of business. I'd rather pay ATM fees somewhere else than go back to a store with such poorly chosen leadership. I look forward to corporate taking action to ensure this location goes back to being a professional and welcoming place for the community.

At SLC Airport, I called CVS ... to reroute the order to the CVS near my home in SoCal. I was unable to speak with someone but did leave a voice mail. (Thinking nobody at CVS would return my call). So, ready for this? Within twenty minutes, a CVS staff member returned my call ... discussed the details of the order ... and confirmed the order will be transferred immediately to the CVS in SoCal. They are bigoted and follow me around, act suspicious and continue to not deliver the same level of service that they give to people that look like them. From being yelled at by the manager for saying that them not honoring a printed and online special wasn't fair (that's it. Didn't even raise my voice) to trying to get the self check clerk to figure out why the avocados wouldn't ring for 49 cents. He told me to pull out my phone and log into my account. I'm done with them. They are awful and the shelves are usually not stocked well. The staff and pharmacists go the extra mile to help you, and provide comprehensive information about anything and everything you have a question on. They take their time with you, and are just friendly enough to make you feel as though they know and care about you. I have never waited more than 5-10 minutes from walking in with a paper prescription, to leaving with it filled. Sure, big retailer pharmacies may appear to be cheaper, but in my experience i've never paid much more at Stone Drug than I have at a big national pharmacy. Support this small town, small business if you have the the chance, and grab some old school candy while you're at it! :)
