    Gas station
    Siobhan D.

This is not really a "store" in the traditional sense. It's a gas station convenience shop. It's across the street from my hotel so I popped over looking for a few specific items that I'd forgotten back home, thinking it was a grocery store. I did get a massive ice-cold Diet Coke and a bunch of sugary treats, but couldn't find the other items. Oh well. It's a nice gas station with nice snacks: donuts, ice cream bars, candy, chips. They sell alcohol, too.

    There is no "C"in Maverik!

Another Maverik that is conveniently located near the entrance/exit of I-15 in south Provo. This Maverik is bigger on the inside than what it looks like on the outside. Again, tons of offerings inside, and a great rewards system with your Maverik card. What I don't like about this place is the entrance and exit to the actual gas station. It's a bit crowded, and having it right next to a busy road sometimes causes issues with people coming and going.

Maverick has just about anything you need for a quick stop. Clean restrooms, snacks and comparable gas prices (ouch)

Cubby's was a lunch stop that immediately earned a return visit before I'd even finished eating…read more I enjoyed the mango salad: Spring mix, marinated chicken, feta, avocado, toasted pistachios, mango salsa fresca, cilantro, and jalapeño ranch--Every bite hitting a different note, nothing fighting for attention, everything tasting genuinely fresh. The jalapeño ranch brings just enough heat to keep things interesting without overpowering the brightness of the mango or the creaminess of the avocado. It's a well-composed dish, and easily the best thing I have eaten so far during an entire week in Utah. The sweet potato fries matched it: crispy outside, soft inside, the kind of side you keep reaching for without meaning to. Service was fast, atmosphere rustic and clean. No ceremony, no friction. I am already rearranging my remaining days in Provo to fit in one more visit before leaving the state.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was beyond disappointing…read more My husband picked up dinner for us tonight, and it was one of the biggest wastes of money I've ever spent on takeout. We ordered a large sweet potato fry to share, and the container was only filled about halfway. I also ordered the beet salad with extra red beets, extra gold beets, and extra goat cheese. We were charged an additional $1.50 for each add-on, yet my salad arrived with zero goat cheese, only four tiny slices of red beets, and five tiny slices of gold beets. Cubby's has always been notoriously stingy with the beets, which is exactly why I paid extra for additional toppings. Instead, I ended up with even less than the standard portion. In the end, I paid $18 for what was essentially a bowl of spring mix with two slices of avocado, three orange segments, no goat cheese, and nine paper-thin slices of beets. That's unacceptable. To make matters worse, we tried calling to speak with a manager, but the phones were turned off at 8:15 p.m., even though the restaurant advertises that it's open until 9:00 p.m. This was the last straw with Cubby's. The night shift clearly needs better training and quality control. Charging customers for extras and then not including them is not okay. If you want to waste your money on food that is carelessly prepared and doesn't match what you paid for, this is a great place to go.

Talk about a burnt crispy taste. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind seeing employees flirting but if they flirting and end up burning my meat log I paid for, I get a lil upsetty spaghetti. I did like how everything was clean and the tables we're wiped off. The place smelled delicious and the service was quick. Ive just come enough times to know that the glizzy ain't s'posed to taste like a charred piece of wood.

The hot dogs themselves were large and flavorful, definitely restaurant quality. The star of the show though, was the special sauce. It was a really flavorful version of barbecue sauce that wasn't too strong, that seemed to enhance the flavor of the toppings as well as the hot dogs, even with really different toppings on multiple hot dogs. The french fries were also super delicious, with a light seasoning and exterior crunch that was just outstanding. The place was busy but service was still fast since the menu is very simple, with only two choices of hot dogs and sides. The restaurant itself was nothing fancy and had basic diner vibes. Definitely adding this to our list when we visit Provo. Five stars!
