They are friendly and seem to like that you are there. It's hard to find at other convenience stores. Midday at the Jacksons, the shelves were well stocked, the bathrooms clean, and the cashier of good cheer. It seems to have a bigger selection than most (and at least rivaling Maverik). And the best part: So much booze they have a walk-in cooler filled with it (a majority, of course, beer). Usually one of the most important elements to the customer is the gas PRICES. Jackson's is in a joint venture with Chevron, and their fuel prices are in line with those in the area. So Jackson's is great if you want more than just gas on your next fuel up.

The experience, while basically carbon-copied and stamped out of the great Maverik assembly line, is generally clean bathrooms, usually pretty spacious parking, solid selection of snacks and bottled drinks, strong fountain selection, and at least passable, if overpriced, hot foods, and that is exactly what we have here.

The convenience store part was, anyway, but the gas pumps are on 24/7 so I drove it to fuel up. Unfortunately, the first pump I went to seemed to be malfunctioning. It was stuck in permanent "Cancelled" mode. I walked across the the next pump and it was also malfunctioning. I walked around to the other side of the pump where I had pulled up and it appeared to be working, so I drove around. Third time was a charm, and I fueled up. I have to say, however, that this was one of the slowest pumps I've been to in a really long time. I still had a quarter of a tank when I drove in, and it may have taken well over 5 minutes to fill the thing up. Now, 5 minutes, in the grand scheme of things, is not much time. But count to 60 and realize that's about how much time it was taking to pump a whole gallon. S l o w... The convenience store looked decent. Some ice cream specials in the afternoon sounded mighty tasty and would be a nice topper to a J Dawgs afternoon, which is a but a block up the road. Gas stations dispense gas for cars. 2. Cars need gas to go. 3. Fusion power is not yet available to power vehicles (unlike in those lying Back to the Future movies). #2 makes #1 inherently required, you have to go somewhere. #3 is just annoying, but the fault of poor research by Hollywood. However, I think what puts Maverick above the curve is the stores themselves. And this particular location has a big, modern, clean store with plenty of variety of goods and has friendly service on almost every visit I've made. As a result of this and the fact to boot it also has plenty pumps so you can always get in without a wait to gas up makes this my gas station of choice. I try to support Maverick since while not a wholly local chain, it is one of the bigger ones in Utah and certainly limited to only a handful of Western states, many of which are the lesser populated ones.
