I placed a special order for 5 cases of sweet tea. After 10 days and multiple lies from employees I went to pickup the order. I found 2 cases and a pile of loose cans in a basket. It was my fault according to the customer service person as I do not specify " original manufacture packaging ". Thomas the store manager, backed the "customer service " person. He then demanded my debit card to force a full refund and refused to sell any cases or individual cans. He stated he would refuse to ever special order again. Worst management ever. The manager of the Orem Store of Winco is terrible, he was yelling at me and I am in my seventies, I had bought some birdseed, and needed to exchange it for a gift card, I had always fed the birds in the winter at my home, but the all the trees in the orchard in back of my house were cut down, and I did not know it, because i have a big hedge , I bought the bird seed but now there are no birds , I begged the manager to allow me to exchange it for a gift card, but he was incredibly rude and yelling at me, telling me that I was the cause of all the trouble. etc, etc. I have never been talked to like that by anyone. So when it comes to groceries this is one of the best place to come. I have only been to these WinCo grocery store recently. Myself and wife love it!!! The food is fresh and they have a quality at a good price!! It is like a big warehouse where you can get a lot of food at really cheap prices. This is a store for the working class, where your dollar goes a long way. They have top brands here, their produce is fresh and plenty of it. This was my third time going to WinCo. They don't have many around. So yeah we drove out of our way to save some money and it was well worth it. If you never been to a good place where it is so laid back come here. I tried to order a 24 piece chicken meal. The guy told me to wait 25 minutes for the next batch when the chicken in the glass case was full. There was no one else in line. I've been to West Valley and Midvale multiple times and got at 24 piece with no problems and they never have as much already ready as Orem winnco did. 100 thumbs down for you Orem winnco. today I thought my car was stolen. I had 2 amazing male employees help me find my car. regardless of my stupidity and not paying attention to where I parked they were kind, helpful and non judgmental. They put my groceries in the freezer etc while I panicked and was on phone with 911. Long story short they walked every car isLe and checked camera footage...! My point here is customer service was next level today. I'll be coming back over and over again and this time I'll take my headphones off when I park my frikin car. I'm an idiot. winco was gracious! I love coming here because the fresh produce is almost always cheaper than your regular grocery spot. The pantry items that you normally stock up on is generally lower in prices as well. A friend of mine told me about this place specifically for spices - that you can buy spices by the bag and just refill your already at home containers for way cheaper - instead of having to buy the ones already bottled up in containers. Basically you're saving money by just refilling your containers at home! I love the concept of this! In addition you can buy rice, granola, coffee, bulk candy the same way. I love that they also have French bread loaves for 99 cents here all the time. My kiddos love the bagels here and always beg me to get some. Bread is usually cheaper here, like our staple Grandma Sycamore's. The cashiers are always friendly too! read more

It was my first time at WinCo. I spent an hour and a half filling up bags of bulk items..... (beans, pasta, chocolate chips, candies, spices, etc.) THEN, I rang everything up at a self-serve, which took a while, but then my credit card wouldn't work. I tried 4 or 5 times before an employee told me they don't accept credit. What?! I get that I should have seen the "no credit cards" sign when I walked in, but THIS IS 2021, and I wasn't really looking for any "no credit cards" signs. I didn't have a funded debit card or cash with me (which is also my fault, but I never use either of those things), so after embarrassingly holding up the line, I brought my order to the lady by the self-checkout counters. I spent 40 minutes there, calling my husband who didn't pick up, and trying to transfer money over to my debit card. My bank wouldn't transfer money immediately, and the ATM wouldn't pull cash out of my credit card without a PIN. I live 30 minutes away, but the employee wouldn't let me put my order on hold to buy it the next day when I came back. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but remember I had spent an hour and a half filling up bags of bulk items. EVENTUALLY, after 40 minutes of embarrassment and a hungry stomach (it was like an hour past my usual dinner time), my cousin Venmoed me enough to pay with my Venmo debit card. Thank goodness. I was so happy to be out of this place. Aside from this embarrassing, annoying experience, I have returned to WinCo 3 times. There are some crazy good deals on random items sometimes, and there is an awesome bulk section. But besides that, this place is really just mediocre. I only really come here for the bulk foods, and the credit card issue stops me from doing more shopping here. I wonder if those saved transaction fees are really worth it... read more

LOVE Winco! I especially love the bulk spices, beans, etc. Plus the produce is always fabulous.

I always know I can shop at anytime here. Really helps with early morning needs! I love the bins with unique ingredients....vital wheat gluten anyone? A must have at this altitude for any rolls or breads. I love the fresh nut butters ground as you fill your container....no other ingredients!!! My only wish is that it was closer for me to get to faster. I go through fresh dates like crazy!!! Thank you WinCo for offering unique items at a great price. read more

I came from vegas n have been looking everywhere for oriental stuff. I came here n they have everything. They even have yucca.

They need more cashiers especially on Sunday's it's so crowded and they have workers walking around aimlessly instead of jumping on and being a cashier it's pathetic and poor customer service. I frequent this store because it is close to my house. I only pop in for one or two items I need. I do not grocery shop here. The store feels like a warehouse and seems dirty. I have had no luck with great produce and the produce section is usually a hot mess. I don't mind the meat cuts there and I love that they have the bulk items section. Staff have always been helpful when I've needed to ask them questions. The restrooms (I've only been in them twice) have always been a mess when I've gone in. Once they were out of paper towels and the other time hand soap (eww!). All in all, I'm just not a fan of WinCo. read more

Never thought I'd review winco. I'm just giving it the 2 stars because I come here often and it's always been awesome! Their French bread is delicious, sometimes I even show up when it's nice and warm. The reason for 2 stars... their donut section... I love me some winco donuts, but today.. it was filled with flies! I actually opened the doors to let the flies out because I was so grossed out by it. They were flying around all the donuts and some just.. sitting on the donuts, probably eating away at the sugar or doing whatever it is flies do... pretty gross. Winco is my favorite grocery store! The employees are all so friendly and helpful! You do have to bag your own groceries, so if you have lots of little kids with you, be aware of that! When my kids were little that was a huge challenge for me. But I love being able to get great deals on produce and bulk foods!! read more

This store is a safety hazard. Dozens of people were not wearing masks at all (not an exaggeration). Many others were not wearing masks over their noses, including several employees. This is despite signs posted throughout the store indicating that people must wear masks. We spoke up and asked one person near us in the checkout line to put his mask on. The person refused (and intentionally came close to me, breathed on me, and called me the "Gestapo"), but the cashier expressed her thanks after this interaction. She explained that she has an at-risk person in her family but that WinCo's management does not care. She said management will not let them ask people to wear masks. I felt so bad for this employee and the unfortunate situation her employer has put her in by refusing to care about the health and safety of both its workers and its customers. Steer clear. The prices really are the best. I expected it to be all cheap brands and not much in specialty items. Turns out the have a number of really good brands. The mushroom selection is really good and inexpensive. They have both Nathan's and Hebrew National hot dogs. Fresh Oysters and some good seafood. Orrowwheat bread. However, the selection of yogurt brands is thin. In the end, there's a few things I get they don't have, but they have 90% of them and the prices are really good. read more

I generally don't like WinCo, so let's get that out of the way. I've gone into more detail before, but here's the highlight reel: 1) Fugly. Seriously bad '80s-esque stores, even brand new, and not in the fun way. 2) Produce, across the board, is plentiful but of poor quality 3) No credit cards. Grow up. 4) Bad layout. That whole divert-me-down-an-aisle when I arrive is horribly obnoxious. However, there are a couple of redeeming qualities 1) Bulk foods, bulk spices. Glorious. 2) I've usually found friendly folks there. No one is around to help because of barebones staff, but they're usually nice folks. This particular store fits that dried up play-dough mold pretty well, but it gets one additional nod for convenience. For me--someone who's not from around the area--it's an easy on, easy off if I forget something and am headed out of town, down south. Not the easiest on/off along the way, but easy enough. I'll shop 3-4 other grocers before I consider WinCo, but at least I know it's there if I need it. read more

Oh WinCo, every time I come in you take me back to my college years in the 90s and my visits to Food4Less. You have the same vibe and feeling of, "Here are your groceries. You can find almost everything you want and most of the time cheaper than other places, so grin and bear it." It ain't pretty not the friendliest but the prices and quality are great. read more

Another one of those... we don't accept credit cards places. I am genuinely interested in knowing how much it costs a company to accept credit cards. If it is actually saving me a significant amount of money not to use it, okay I am fine with that. If it is such a small number that it is robbing me of travel points... then be damned!! All that doom in gloom aside. I love me some winco... they have my favorite tortilla chip in a giant bag that lasts longer than one sitting to eat. It has the "Gross Section" as I refer to it. The place where random people put their hands in things and put the things in bags. Grosses me out, is that irrational, absolutely. Considering anyone can touch your fruit, but at least I can wash my fruit it is very hard to wash powders. I don't really know where I am going with this review, I just want to see how long I can make you read for. Yes, your reading word after word thinking in your head, Wow this is so meta. I am taking you on a way too long reading journey! THE VERDICT: Sorry, too lazy to keep writing about a chain, but this one in orem is great, I love a lot of the workers, in like a real love kind of way. I took time to trun everything in and never heard back. A simple phone call and a no would've sufficed. Or even an email. I've been a customer since it opened too. (3.75 stars) WinCo Foods is an enigma; part warehouse club and part supermarket, and incorporating both the "good" and "bad" of each. On the plus side, the selection of name brand items is very good, pricing is excellent and packaged quantities are supermarket (rather than bulk) in size. Minuses include cavernous and poorly-lit rows of metal warehouse racks, an outright refusal to acknowledge that credit cards even exist and generally disorganized store layout. After another long day with my client I discovered that dinner options in the general vicinity of my motel were limited to Tex-Mex and fast-food Tex-Mex; I wasn't up for "either." I walked to the WinCo, and after some time exploring their aisles, settled on a name-brand quality frozen entry and large bottled beverage. My tab came to $2.74, 75 cents less than the cost of the entrée alone at my hometown supermarket. I suspect that doing our weekly grocery shopping at WinCo Foods would become maddening rather quickly, but as a "one-off," the experience was pretty good. read more

Y-E-S! It's about time Winco opened up here! Winco is chock-full of great deals on all varieties of food. I love the bulk section. I love that the prices on popular brands are as much as 50% less than they are at other stores. But most of all, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that I can buy a range of Tillamook products here! If you've never had Tillamook cheese, then you simply MUST go to Winco and buy some. I have noticed a few other stores carry it here, but not at the price that Winco does! And I've never seen a store in Utah carrying Tillamook ice cream, which may just be the best brand of ice cream on the planet! Seriously, if you go to Winco for nothing else, go for Tillamook products! Of course, I imagine once you enter the massive warehouse that is Winco, you'll stay for plenty of other reasons. One other product you simply MUST buy from Winco that you can't really find elsewhere (besides Costco): Dave's Killer Bread. If it's not the best thing since, well, sliced bread then I don't know what is! In fact, I'm so sure you'll absolutely love Dave's bread that I'll guarantee I'll eat it if you won't! ;) read more

Winco is one of my favorite grocery stores in the Valley. It's hard to find fresh produce in some of the stores around here, but Winco has never disappointed me in my search. The best part about Winco is the bulk area. Of course I want to buy cheetos and chex mix in bulk. I can't believe I even lived before this? They also have candy, spices, nuts, and MRE's for incredibly cheap in the bulk area. I can't believe we as a human race existed before this came into our lives. I love it here. Winco has fresh cheese and meat packaged, and also premade meals for those in a hurry, or those who hate doing anything. The prices at Winco are incredible and the selection is amazing. The Costco of grocery shopping. Cheap, name brand stuff and bulk like you wouldnt believe. It's awesome. I've been to the ones in Oregon and they are great, and I'm sure this one will be too, but they are still growing and there are some pains involved. Of the two checkstands that were open one night, I of course picked the one with the incompetent checker who took AGES to do everything. The other line flushed out everyone that was lined up when I got in the other line and a whole other slew of customers before I finally switch lanes and I still beat the person who was still trying to check out in front of where I had been in the other lane. Terrible and totally unexceptable. At least tell us whats going on if there is an issue. read more

I'd stay clear at least during Covid. No one cares if people actually keep their mask on, or social distance. Several people weren't wearing masks at all, and the aisles were extremely crowded. Self checkout was too, had people not two feet away from me. read more

Love Winco, for the bulk of our grocery shopping. Produce prices are excellent and the produce is fresh and keeps well...since we shop only twice a month this is important. Cheese, dairy and prepared sandwich products are the best prices I have seen in the valley. Love the bulk food and herb section. Service is excellent. Every time I have asked for help the staff have gone out of their way to make sure I got what I needed. read more

I wish there was a location in my city, I would go way more often. My favorite part of this grocery store is the bulk section where you can grab plastic bags and fill them with bulk foods like beans, cereals, nuts, candy, etc. I also like that there is a nice selection of vegan food items. read more
