This Maceys is sup small.. and they don't make homemade soups past 2pm.. guess soup isn't for dinner anymore..

Let me first say, I give places two to three times chances to improve their service. The reason, I do that is to give everyone a fair chance. I do not play The racist bull crap card. I just tell you how it is. So, three different times , I came to purchase different items. I am a super cool friendly person. Three different folks and I received the same crappy attitude. " hum?'"......I was like. WTH? The cashier must of been having a REAL bad day... but come on three different cashiers , three different times?? Dear Manager , if you want me to spend my hard earn money at your store. its not the fanciest market but they have done some recent updates that are great. its a wonderful store and i come here monthly.

I don't shop here often, but when I do, I wonder why I don't come back more often!! There are so many great deals on yummy cereals, especially. Be sure to stop by the bakery section for a giant Kong cone, or to grab a fresh donut in the morning! There is a great selection of all sorts of goods here, and it is really cheap, which is great for college students or young families. I'd recommend getting on their points program- I've heard it's great. The location is in the middle of Provo, near the hospital! It shares the block with Chick-Fil-A, Cubby's, Sonic, Ace Hardware, and the neighborhood Target. If you need a new place to shop, this is it! read more

I used to love Macey's. I just recently moved to Orem and this Macey's is my closest grocery store. I started shopping here and every time I go there are ALWAYS out of something I need. Even if I go and only need a few things they will still be out of something I need. I went to get milk and they were out of milk! I have never seen a grocery store out of milk. I sometimes would do an online order and the personal shoppers will always text me saying they are out of something, and when they are out of something it's usually more than 1 thing. I was sick and tired of going to different grocery stores to do my shopping because I could never get everything on my list. I also don't get the perks phone number thing, you don't get any perks. I have never received coupons or anything with it. I go to the Provo Smith's now. I would rather drive a little further to them because they are never out of anything, they are always fully stocked. You also get great offers with your phone number. They have an app that has tons of awesome coupons. Macey's is way over priced. read more

Kudos for having ice! I've bought ice all over this fine valley, and they've got it in the breezeway here. I also did a quick spree for pre-Halloween goodies and found that they have just a small section dedicated to Halloween candy and other seasonal stuff. Not that I'm a huge fan of row after row, but if anything, I think it's a missed opportunity for them. On the other hand, you kinda know what to expect at a Macey's, and they don't tend to get caught up in trends or fads. It's the place you might go for the staples. Not as fancy as a Harmon's, or even most Smith's these days, but still nicer than the warehouse universe of Ream's or the absolutely terrible environment and bottom-scraping products of Winco. Nah, this is a middle of the road experience. I can't really call out any one section for being great--bakery, produce--but you do have to admit they've taken the deli thing a bit further. That monstrous ice cream cone knows as the Kong Kone (or do they spell it properly as Kong Cone??) was a mainstay of my teenage years. Today it's the tool of parents bribing their kids for good behavior while shopping. The staff was perky today; I imagine it's full of college students and they seem to be eager little beavers. I had a quick in and out experience, and left with plenty of candy and ice. read more

My wife just had a pretty humiliating experience at this Macey's. She was using some WIC checks to buy some of her items, but was purchasing other items not covered by WIC as well. The cashier, though well intentioned, humiliated my wife in front of other customers, lecturing her on the need to purchase cheaper items because she receives WIC benefits. I don't want to receive WIC benefits, I wish we were in a place where we didn't need to receive them. To be belittled and humiliated over a package of hummus is totally inappropriate. It's not the cashier's place to decide what the customer should and should not purchase. We should have just left our entire cart there for the cashier to restock, since apparently we can't afford what we planned to purchase anyways. I give them 2 stars because I've never had this problem at this location before, but I know we won't ever be returning to shop there. We'll go elsewhere where our purchasing decisions won't be judged. read more

Macy's is truly becoming one of the worst grocery chains. The produce in all their stores is improperly rotated. There is mold in their berries, the apple's are wrinkley and mealy. The wet vegetable section is full of old and slimy vegetables. The employees are very rude and unhelpful. There is usually some kind of issue at the checkout line. read more

Macy's always has the best produce in the area. You can plan on paying an extra buck or two, but it is worth it for the quality over its competitors. I love the produce, and they also have some wonderful sales going all the time. As a college kid I can get out of there with fresh food and some good meats normally around $30. Macey's...good for three things: *Food deals *Discount Movie tickets *Soft serve ice cream...for CHEAP!! These three things keep bringing me back to Macey's. There's nothing like going to the movie for $6.50 instead of $8.50+ and when you're done swing back for dessert...a "small" cone for $.47 cents...that's 2 for $1. The small is more like a medium and just enough to satisfy the pallet. It's quality soft serve I might add. Dense, creamy, perfect. My wife and I went in a couple months ago to find Chex cereal, all varieties, for something like 10/$10 or something wild. We bought 8 or so, we love Muddy Buddies...and let's be honest, who doesn't? So check it out sometime and save some money! read more

I love Macey's the workers are very nice and helpful. I read a very negative nasty comment and find nothing true about it. I have seen a few nasty people behave like that with the workers when they were not allowed to use their ebt card for hot food in the deli etc where it must be prohibited. I think if you treat the people at a business politely then they will do the same for you. I love their meat and they do have a real butcher. He has helped me more than once to slice or tenderize something I have purchased. It is very clean and because they are a smaller store may not carry everything I need but I can always pick those items up at Walmart. read more

Maceys is good overall; however, their prices always seem to charge me more than I expected. For example, one day I tried to buy some oranges. On this day, they sold oranges in the back of the store and in the front of the store too. I picked up the oranges from the back of the store, and when I went to the checkout line the cashier had to tell me that I bought the wrong oranges because they came from the back of the store instead of the front. In addition, whenever the avocados go on sale they are also on sale at the local Smith's store. the local Smith's store always has cheaper avocados. It does not make sense because I would expect Macey's to consider the fact that there are comparison shoppers who want to just pay the least amount of money for the most amount of product. read more

They are good but almost always busy they also don't wear a uniform which seems weird to me because they wear jeans and a t shirt which is fine just looks a little under professional. Good environment always busy though. read more

Among the worst - if not "the worst" of any grocery store around - you are a absolute last option. I would rather shop at a non-air conditioned piggly wiggly in the south in July... Blaine, the "Store Manger" is a business owners worst nightmare. What a dufus. Poor Blaine - if you only knew how inept a manager and customer service agent you really are. If you haven't already been fired, it's probably coming soon- and you'll have a hard time finding a job anywhere else, unless upper management is as dumb as you - and in that case you'll have a long embarrasing tenure at Macey's in provo. Beyond employing the dumbest of the dumb, this store is poorly organized, has cheap, low budget unhealthy processed crappy food (mostly Western Family and generic brands), a dumpy frozen pre-cooked bakery, sub-standard butcher (really not even a butcher- just meat on the shelf from Sysco or some other junky supplier)- including a very limited selection and EXTREMELY poor quality meat. Above all, the employees seem unhappy, pissy, underpaid, and disgruntled. Poor people, the owners must cater to job seekers that live under the poverty level. Those poor employees must have not other option. If there was a way to give negative stars - I would. Maceys is worse than Walmart. The only way you stay alive is from top-ramen -style students. I have a Macey's right down the street. In Orem. I was filling my prescriptions there. A few days ago, I filled a rather expensive prescription (~$200) and I had a drink in my hand to purchase. Silly me, I forgot to pay for the drink. A few hours later, cops knocked on my door to arrest me for theft. The price of the drink: $0.99. The cops, after hearing what happened, talked the manager out of having me arrested. I almost spent the night in jail because the manager would rather arrest me than say "hey, did you pay for that drink?" I walked out of the store in plain sight, holding my prescription bag and the drink. I will never set foot in a Macey's again. I have no criminal record- and I would like it to stay that way. Plus, seriously, what a waste of taxpayer money. Two cop cars. Over a dollar. What is wrong with that manager? What is wrong with a store that feels the need to arrest customers over simple mistakes? If you shop at Macey's, I suggest double-checking your receipt before leaving the store- or you might end up with cops at your door. read more

Without a doubt the BEST grocery chain in Utah. Hey Macey's, how do you get your staff to be so darn good? "hey, guy stocking shelves, where is the tapioca"? " it is over on isle 2, come on let me show you. Really? I had a guide take me to the tapioca, sweet! No line in self check out, but hey, I hate self check out. No problem, Chad rushed in, and checked me out in the self check out line. Really Chad? I got full service in the self service line. This store is unbelievable. read more
