Not a great experience...not even good, actually. It's a steak house that charges high $ for steaks they even admit they don't cook correctly. Our waiter suggested "if you like a med rare you order up to med". Why? Should a steak house know how to prepare and present a steak to customer request? I've been on the search for the best steak in the Okc metro area, and this place was recommended to us. We went last night for my birthday. First our reservation was for 745 and it was about 20 minutes to get us sat even though we were only ones waiting and table we sat at was empty entire time we waited (It was within put view as we waited. Once we sat down, no one acknowledged us for another 15-20 minutes to give us the menu , get drinks orders, or even let us know they would be with us soon. Everything was going OK after that till time for our steaks to arrive. I ordered a medium well 14oz Strip and received a very well done sirloin. They made it right but had to wait again, and by the time I got steak, the husband was done. The sides were cold, and my appetite wasn't with it. They comped my steak, which I very much appreciated. The food was decent, but our Brussels were undercooked as well. Also, it was a bit loud, so if you're looking for romantic, I'm not sure this is it. I think it was maybe just on off night, but I wished I had celebrated my birthday elsewhere as it took us almost 3 hours to eat. We missed the party we were supposed to attend after dinner as well. Both my wife and I ordered the filet medium well. Both our steaks came out burnt to a crisp. They were inedible. We brought this to the attention of our server, who told the manager, who offered us free desserts. My wife and I were still both stuck with $65 steaks that we couldn't eat. It was a bad experience. I also don't understand why The Ranch doesn't have military discount? If they're afraid it will cut into their profit, just offer a free soda. Just something that says "Thanks for your service." I wouldn't imagine too many vets eating there often because of the price. I don't know. Maybe I'm just complaining too much. I ordered the side sampler which includes 3 smaller servings of your choice. Ginger carrots, au gratin potatoes and bacon and blue cheese Brussels sprouts were my choices. The blue cheese is as very good and the au gratin potatoes were one of the best I have had. I also got the Cabernet mushroom sauce on he side. It was OK but I would not order it again My counterpart ordered the beef medallions. He loved it and made special note of the sauce. He said it was outstanding. We chose patio due to high chairs make my legs go numb. He asked questions for Covid and took temperatures. What we didn't think of was how cool it was going to be when sun started going down. We decided to order soups, French onion and also Mushroom soup. Both good. Found only one chicken item on menu. Yes, lots of steaks ! I usually don't order steak because I like well-done. I ordered sampler sides for $20.00 of creamed spinach, brussel sprouts, and scalloped potatoes with bacon added. Was a perfect meal for me. Creamed spinach was my favorite! Next time I may try the Beef medallions, all meals around 30.00 or higher. Steaks of course are higher and a la cart. Great atmosphere, waitress was very nice. Soup was quick but sampler took a really long time to be served. Thinking maybe because we didn't order expensive steaks, no reservations. Will definitely give them another try and sit inside! We were there on a Wednesday and spent $100 per person to have a below average meal. We had three sides. The Brussel sprouts were raw. Each of us tried one. The asparagus were over cooked. Three of us tried one and the fourth got the message and did not try. The sweet potato was burnt. Not sure how you that is done. Now to the steaks. The rib eyes were well done on the edges. The center was medium rare to rare. My wife's 7 oz filet was medium on the edges and rare in the center. My guess is the steaks were still frozen when they were grilled. Not worth $60. read more

Amazing! We had the best date night dinner. Everything was perfect from service to the food. Our waiter was extremely attentive, kind, and answered all of our questions including some great recommendations. The drinks were sooo great including two from the specialty cocktail menu. The dinner rolls were served warm and melt in your mouth delicious. The only negative was the Caesar salad and just lacked a little flavor maybe not enough dressing. My husband and I split the ribeye which was cooked perfectly and plenty for two people. We had the side sampler so we could try 3 different sides and they were all a amazing. We went to Ranch Steakhouse on a whim during OU graduation. We had reservations somewhere else but we caught up in traffic outside of the campus. We decided to turn off and went here. It's steakhouse priced which we knew before since we browsed the menu beforehand. The hostess was a bit rude when she found out we didn't have a reservation but were seated right away. Our waitress was so friendly and gave us a lot of information about how dishes were served and cooked so we knew what to expect. I appreciated that level of detail. I feel terrible because her name escapes me but she looked like Anya Joy Taylor with red hair. She was so sweet and really helped us make some good choices. I know this is the mid south so I'm sure beef is the best but our filets were out of this world. I can say with absolute certainty that they were the best I've ever had. The other folks at our table got the salmon which my teen son said was amazing. We also shared a dessert. It was chocolate almost like brownies. Delicious! Foodies beware! My husband and I went here for our 29th anniversary. The restaurant was nicely decorated with horse art and candles on the table. The lighting was fairly dim but nice. We were seated promptly and our server was kind and attentive. We didn't have to wait long for any of our food or refills. The food was subpar. I forgot a picture of my heirloom tomatoes and buratta. The tomatoes were tasteless but the cheese was what I expected. My husband had a Caesar salad. The croutons were nice but dressing was terrible. He didn't finish it. I ordered a ribeye with foie gras. The foie gras was absolutely amazing! The steak on the other hand while cooked to the proper temperature it was chewy and lacked salt or really any taste. There was a hint of butter but that's about it. My husband's strip was also cooked to the proper temperature but he was not impressed. The mashed potatoes were full of raw garlic taste. If you like raw garlic go for those. The smoked mac and cheese was neither smoked nor fully cooked. The pasta was oddly under done and basically tasteless. We did not attempt dessert. The Lobster cargot had a nice butter lemon pepper flavor. The only thing missing would have been some kind of pasta noodles. Most Cargot appetizer starters are chessy! Great ribeye steak & all of the courses were excellent. However, pricing for a 14 oz ribeye ($50) is slightly less than a "Spago" Beverly Hills 8 oz prime New York ($67), and not much less than a "Cut" Beverly Hills 14 oz ribeye 35-day dry aged ($78). However, at Spago and Cut, there isn't a "frat-boy vibe" from some of the waiters, and you won't have to shake off the frat boy party stench after you leave. Additionally, at Spago & Cut, you can bring your own bottle of wine, for a moderate corkage fee. Most good restaurants provide for a corkage fee - you (the customer) are their focus. At Ranch, you cannot bring in your own wine. Obviously the staff thinks highly of their establishment -- a "we're the best" vibe permeates the air. But a lot of staff are standing around & there are a troubling number of open tables. Rows & rows (many dozens) of high-end scotch & whiskies impressively overlook the bar. The idle staff, empty tables, limited wine options, and display of "the very best" high-end liquors do nothing for the customer experience. Customers are paying for this "high end fraternity house." Compared to other restaurants at this price point ($200+ for a party of two), going to this Ranch Steakhouse is a risk -- you do not know what you will get. Which customers are shown civility & which are not? Is it the customer, or is it the company culture of the restaurant? When customers spend this amount of money, they deserve a basic level of courtesy. If Ranch costs nearly as much as Spago or Cut, it should be reasonably good. read more

Outstanding experience. My steak was cooked absolutely perfectly. It was seared absolutely perfectly. It was seasoned with salt. Absolutely perfectly. The atmosphere and the service was second to none. We loved the private room that we were in and our server did an outstanding job. Although it certainly wasn't cheap about $250 for our meal, I would definitely go back and strongly recommend it for any and every occasion. We had mac & cheese and au gratin potatoes as our side dishes. I also ordered a French onion soup before the meal. We were celebrating our anniversary from Oregon - we had a great server James and food was delicious. But we ordered a bottle of 2018 Pinot noir from Oregon's willamette valley and was served a different vintage. When we asked the server, he replied it's printed in small print that the vintage may vary. As a wine connoisseur this is unheard of and wrong. We got there for our reservation and while the hostesses were deciding on a table for us, the female manager walked up. We are a gay couple and my partner had his hand on my back. The manager noticed this and then had a hostess seat us in a private room obviously used for special events. It has its own private restroom even. The hostess told us they were opening up the room because they were so busy. They were not busy and no one else was ever seated in the room with us. The manager came by during our meal and got my partner to verbally confirm that he was okay with us being seated there. It was extremely apparent that she had us seated in a private room because we are gay. I will say, our waitress was the sweetest person. Very helpful and kind. We will not be going back ever or recommending it to anyone. The GM reached out to us days later and apologized but insinuated that we had imagined the entire thing as the assistant manager is supposedly a big supporter of gay rights. It was also a Monday night. Nice atmosphere, and the outdoor fireplace and indoor fireplace were very attractive. They offer valet parking and you can check your coat when you come in if you like. Between the four of us, we had steaks chicken, a couple, different salads and some soups. None of us had any complaints. The salad were pretty and fresh and the creamy strawberry balsamic dressing on my salad was excellent! My husband ordered the 10 ounce fillet, and it was cooked perfectly and tender. The hot food came out hot as it should. The chicken entrée that one of our party had was very generous portions. Several of us had special requests and they were very accommodating. Our waitress, Josie, was knowledgeable and friendly, and she gave us great service. we had hot bread service at the beginning. We all loved the crusty dinner rolls.
