I went here on a Saturday to celebrate my birthday. I had eight friends join me. Here's what happened while we were there: A-Hair found in 2 of my friends water. Had to bring out new glasses. B-other peoples water was also dirty, had black stuff floating around. C-A very large hair was found in the order of dinner rolls that one of my friends ordered. D-the smash burger that one of my friends ordered was very very dry, to the point that she barely ate it. E-They forgot to bring out my potato gratin for appetizer, I had to remind them F-they ran out of pineapple juice so I couldnt get the drink I ordered. G-very slow service, took over 30 minutes for drinks, took a while to get our appetizer order, took over 30 minutes for the appetizer, and 45 minutes for the entree. All in all don't come here, save your money and go somewhere else. And make sure you ask how much their specials are because they are not really specials, they just charge per item and then combine it all into the price. The beef Wellington is underwhelming, most of their food was salty, $22 extra for two scallops the size of a half dollar each? Get real. read more

This was my first experience at Ramsay's. Overall seems to be the new Naperville "it" place right now. I booked 2 months in advance for a weekday table. The food overall was good, but pricey so bring your gold AMEX along for the experience. My son had the Beef Wellington which he described as "very good, but not the best he's ever had". The Servers at Ramsay's are good, but they are all about the upsell, which they are very proficient at! Ambiance has an exciting vibe. Decor is fresh and modern. Too often a new restaurant will open that doesn't live up to expectations and the hype...... I'm happy to say Ramsay's Kitchen is not one of them. The reservation process straight and easy, both online and by phone. They even send a reminder text to confirm the reservation. Entering Ramsay's is through a revolving door and the maitre d' station is on the left, there is also a coat check closet behind the desk. We were promptly taken to a cozy couples booth. It took less than a minute for our server to greet us with menus and asked us if it was our first time dining at Ramsay's, we hadn't and she then wished me a happy birthday, then went over the specials and took our drink order. My bride had a glass of wine and for myself it was an exceptional Old Fashioned. We both ordered the British Ale & Onion Soup and the Parker Rolls. ( enter superlatives here) I must warn the reader that I lack an adequate number of superlatives in my vocabulary to do both the food, staff and service of Ramsay's Kitchen justice. I will simply add (enter superlatives here) and ask that you imagine the highest praise). My bride ordered the Chicken Milanese and for myself the Beef Wellington. Both the server and kitchen timed the arrival of the main courses perfectly as we never felt rushed. The Chicken Milanese accompanied with Dijon cream sauce, prosciutto, Gruyère, arguala, grained mustard vinaigrette arrived with most generous portions. My Beef Wellington arrived looking like "food art" with wonderful composition; potato purée, glazed baby root vegetables, red wine demi, the filet a glorious rare with the puff pastry. To describe the meal as amazing wouldn't do it justice..... (Enter Superlatives Here). The portions were more than generous, and was boxed for us to take home. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary dessert for my birthday..... Sticky Toffee Pudding, complete with a birthday candle . Absolutely decadent in the most fantastic way! Stopped in for a birthday lunch with friends and family over the weekend. The restaurant is tucked into a small building downtown Naperville but it felt larger inside than it seemed entering. I liked the furnishings and the whole place had a classy feel to it. It's a small thing but I liked their plates and flatware. The service was great. You could tell this was a place that really focuses on high class wait staff. Even the waiter pouring a beer for my friends was done elegantly by rolling it on a napkin at the table to mix the contents with the ball inside. For an appetizer we got the parker rolls, it was some of the best bread I have had in the world. The butter was soft and spreadable, a small thing that most restaurants can't get right. For lunch I landed on the roast beef sandwich with truffle fries. It was delightful in every way. The beef was succulent, well cooked, and flavorful. The bread was firm yet soft so held up well to being dipped in au jus. And the horseradish was creamy and lightly drizzled on the meat so it was visually appealing as well as tasty. The truffle fries were great, but the truffle aioli was a true shining light in fried potato consumption that should be sung of frequently and loudly. Me and boyfriend were wanting to come here for Valentine's Day but it was all booked up except for lunch... so we decided to give the night before a shot and the only availability was 9:15/9:30,( im guessing that 9:30 was the last seating being that the kitchen closes at 10 . I'm assuming we ordered at 9:40 but the food didn't arrive till about 10:10 ... was a bit concerned they forgot it. It did come out delicious at the end ( fish and chips and Wellington! ) We had sticky pudding for dessert which was delicious but the caramel syrup was so sweet we couldn't finish it. I'll start by saying the service was good and the staff was lovely. For the price you pay for the food it could have definitely been much better. If you like salty food this place is for you. Everything was very salty and didn't have as much flavor as I'd like. The food wasn't horrible but for the price point it needed to be better. My husband and I are fans of Gordon Ramsey, and were excited to see he is finally expanding into the Chicagoland area. We both been to the Hell's Kitchen in Vegas, and had an amazing experience there. We decided to finally try this location, and overall we're pleased. The place has a pleasant and modern ambience. We were seated by the kitchen, and was fun to see all the dishes get passed out. Our server was very pleasant as well, and did a fantastic job staying on top of our table while still giving us time to eat. I absolutely miss the beef wellington and sticky toffee pudding, so that was #1 on our to-order. I added the scallops with my wellington. For $21 add-on, I only got two scallops. The wellington was extremely tender and moist, and the pastry perfectly crispy. However, I felt as if the wellington was missing something as it tasted a bit more bland than the one I had at Hell's Kitchen. Scallops were beautifully seasoned, but a bit on the rubbery side. My husband enjoyed his prime rib special, which for the price he got a decent amount of food. Of course the sticky toffee pudding was pure perfection! Overall the food was delicious. A wonderful addition to the Chicagoland area. Like I said, we both are big fans of his food and will be back again to try other entrees here. Going to a Ramsay restaurant had been on my bucket list for years. Then miraculously, one opened near me! It took a while to get reservations at a desirable time, so plan well in advance for that! We were here to celebrate our anniversary. The service, ambiance, and food were impeccable! The interior is warm, clean and inviting. Our server, Seth, had exceptional attention to detail and was the epitome of professionalism. Food- everything was fantastic. I had the crispy skin salmon, and my husband and I shared the Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese side. I literally do not like Brussels sprouts, but when I saw they were cooked with pork belly, croutons and honey I was intrigued. And WOW. these were actually my favorite part of the meal! But there was no losers here. Everything was perfect and the portion size was nice too. Not too small, not too big. My husband took home half his fish and chips (the piece of fish was MASSIVE), and some of the Mac and Brussels. It was truly a memorable experience. Modern American bistro in the heart of downtown Naperville. Had dinner here on a Saturday Easter weekend. The restaurant is spacious with chic decor and good lighting, not too noisy. The wait service was prompt, friendly and attentive. They did not have an extensive menu but had a good selection of different choices. All four of our selections were very nicely done, including the salmon, lamb, Beef Wellington, and fillet, with very complementary sauces that added to the flavor. The brussels sprouts got rave reviews, as did the toffee and cheesecake desserts. The menu changes regularly which encourages return visits. read more

I was visiting town this week and was ecstatic to learn that my friends had booked a reservation at this place while I was in. We went on a Tuesday night, and even then this placed was packed! The table we were sat at was called the "Chef's Table," and had a lazy susan in the center to help rotate food around it for everyone. Our waiter, Garret, was incredibly friendly and super helpful when answering all my questions! He helped me make several choices for the evening and I can say that he never let me astray. I started the evening with the Behind Blue Eyes cocktail, which was presently sour and pretty to look at. The table also ordered some parker house rolls. They were hit and miss depending on who you asked, but I enjoyed the buttery, herby-ness of them. For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Milanese. This was a breaded chicken filet on top of some Dijon cream sauce and topped with dressed arugula, shaved gruyere cheese, and prosciutto. The chicken itself I found dry, but the other additions to the plate help make up this moisture. Overall it was a great dish and I basically licked the plate clean. Everyone else at the table also enjoyed their dinners and cocktails, and said they would definitely come back. We went to Ramsay's Kitchen to celebrate our anniversary, and I would describe our experience as just okay. We went to Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in Las Vegas on our honeymoon over a decade ago and it was incredible, so perhaps my expectations were just too high for this location. First, parking is very tough in the downtown neighborhood, and the main street was under construction when we went (not the restaurant's fault) so it felt extra crowded downtown. The restaurant itself was loud and busy on a Saturday evening. Our table and seats had not been properly cleaned and we had to ask someone to come back to clean. Our server was very nice and had solid cocktail recommendations. We started with the scotch egg (quite good) and the hamachi crudo (it was fine). For our entrees, my husband had the seafood risotto special which was good, but not worth the exorbitant price. I had the pan seared scallops which were solid. The highlights of our meal were the cocktails and dessert, they were the only things I would go back for. Cocktail wise we had the agave sundown and the spiced pear- I would give both of those 5 stars. For dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding, and it was just as good as I remember from 10 years ago. My boyfriend and I came here last night to check another one of Gordon's restaurants off of our list. I don't know what we were expecting but everything was incredible and blew us away. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, it was relaxing yet upscale at the same time. Everything was cohesive throughout the entire place. They had two entrances which I liked, one on the main road along with one in the back so you don't have to walk around to the front if you park in the lot behind the restaurant. Our server was absolutely delightful, she explained everything to us and was incredibly excited to be there with us our first time. She was very knowledgeable about everything and proud to be apart of this establishment. The food was delicious. Everything we had continued to blow us away and is just disappointing that we can't eat this every night. The appetizers we impeccable, the tartar was incredibly fresh and light. The soup was deep and rich. Both of the main courses were beyond flavorful. They both melted in your mouth, it felt like you didn't even need to chew. The scallops were like butter and packed with an amazing flavor. The Wellington was a journey of flavorful parts, everything worked so well together. Our dessert was very light and incredibly tasty, there was so many components to it. It was absolutely amazing. Overall this was an incredible experience and we can't wait to come back already. Finally got to check out Ramsay's Kitchen and it did not disappoint. We started off with the truffle fries, the side of Mac and cheese, and tuna tartare. The fries were really good, the tuna tartare was amazing def my favorite out of everything I tried, and the mac and cheese was okay slightly underwhelming IMO. Heard a lot of positive reviews for this place, so my sister and I dropped in for Saturday lunch. I understand needing reservations for dinner, but for Saturday lunch? The side booth area was completely empty, and five tables in the back were occupied by couples. Walk-ins, which there were many, were seated at the bar. Weird with all the open tables, but sure. All tables were reserved, or so we were told. I've worked retail and food service, and that many empty tables was a sign that they need more staff to fill the lunch shift. About ten minutes later, we were seated at a booth, which was very nice. The waitstaff were knowledgeable, helpful, and delivered a high caliber of service. As more staff appeared from the back, more of the patrons at the bar were seated. My sister and I had salads, which were very good. Great service! We were in and out even on NYE! Food was great as well. We started with the crabcake app and it was super delish, moist and the sauce it came with was perfection. My husband had the burger and he loved it! Now it wasn't Ramsey burger level IMO but my husband, being a burger conosseir, enjoyed it, from the bun to the crispy edges on the patties. Hubby and I finally got to try Ramsay's Kitchen for date night. Service was very attentive throughout the night and our server made sure to check on us often. The booth we were sitting at was very cold and drafty. However, it was an exceptionally cold day in Chicago and not entirely the fault of the restaurant. We ordered the tuna tartare, beef wellington, and the classic sticky toffee pudding. The tuna tartare was tasty but nothing special and small portion. The beef wellington was cooked to a perfect temperature and the accompanied potato puree was excellent and buttery. The crust was a bit soft and difficult to cut through without it falling apart. I would've preferred it to be more crusty. The sticky toffee pudding was definitely the highlight of the night. Hubby had tried it at the Las Vegas Ramsay restaurant and was not too impressed. But he thought this location had knocked it out of the park! It was perfectly warm, gooey, and not overbearingly sweet. We marked the reservation as a celebration of our wedding anniversary and the server was so kind to comp the dessert. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would recommend for a special occasion. Our friends are Gordon Ramsay fans, so we all went to check out his new restaurant in downtown Nape. If you are a Ramsay super fan, our server did tell us that Mr. Ramsay himself has not yet visited this location, so you may get lucky whenever you go! The interior is beautiful and light, but the lighting is well-controlled, making it feel sophisticated. Our server, Lisa, was excellent throughout our whole experience. Our drinks were great. The Parker rolls were excellent and more than enough for 4. For dinner, I decided to try the signature beef Wellington that Ramsay is known for. This was a miss for me. The duxelles had a strange flavor. The bottom of the Wellington was soggy. The meat itself was not tender like a filet. The potato puree and the root vegetables were great, though - but for $64 outside of city limits, that's not enough for me. For dessert we got the sticky toffee pudding and that was fantastic. Warm, sweet cake in a delicious toffee sauce served with ice cream, I could order this over and over! As an aside, I have a severe truffle allergy and was pretty nervous about the menu, which has truffle everywhere. Last Friday was my 1st dining experience at Ramsay's. I tried a few times to make reservations, and finally was able to do so. I didn't like the reservation process. I made them online, but did not receive an immediate confirmation. I called the restaurant to verify my confirmation went through, and they said that they do not confirm reservations until the day before. Seriously? How can you plan your evening if you don't know if you reserved a table or not? The restaurant is an open concept with a bar area in front and open kitchen in the middle surrounded by tables. The volume level is high, but luckily we were sat at a banquette in a corner so we positioned ourselves next to each other instead of across the table so we could talk more easily. The service is very good at the restaurant. All the staff is on top of their game. Our server Umberto was attentive, friendly and made great suggestions. My husband started with an old fashioned, which was very good. I had FOMO because I just had a glass of rosé. Next time! We shared the tuna tartare which was fresh, marinated tuna surrounded by slices of avocado. My only complaint was two wontons were just two too little. My husband had the nightly special, shrimp and grits. It was absolutely delicious, rich, and creamy. I opted for the scallops with pork belly, citrus & apricot purée. The richness of the scallops with the fatty pork belly paired perfectly with the acidity of the citrus and purée. We ended our meal sharing the mascarpone cheesecake. Delicious in every way. This is a pricey restaurant as we spent just under $200 with tip for our meal, but that's expected for excellent service and quality food. I will definitely be back to dine here again. I have to say, I came to this restaurant with very high expectations and they delivered. We had a 6:30 pm dinner reservation on a Friday night, and we sat promptly at 6:30. I would say I would've preferred to have sat closer to the back of the restaurant by the kitchen, but instead we sat in front of house in a booth next go the bar, so it got quite loud. Our waitress Shannon was an absolute delight, and I enjoyed her recommendation of the spiced pear martini when I didn't know what to get. The food was divine like you'd expect. Everything we had was a 10/10, I could eat a whole plate of those Brussels sprouts. From appetizer to dessert, I had no complaints. The presentation was great, but unfortunately, the food was very unimpressive and not memorable. We got the rolls as an appetizer. They did not have much flavor to them. First time here and it did not disappoint!! Came with a large group and got the front dining room. A room with a view!!! Everything was perfect about our evening out!! We started with apps, we got almost all of them to share. The best was the crab cake & shrimp scampi which paired perfectly with the spiced pair martini. Can't say enough about this drink, so delish. We started with drinks I ordered something that was like a blueberry lemon drop umm disgusted it taste like someone soaked fruit loops in water and served it in a glass. Hubby had some fruity whiskey drink it was meh our waiter Lisa was very accommodating in switching out my drink to me dismay this one wasn't that tasty either but didn't want to seem like I was complaining so I settled. For starters we ordered the sticky wings will say those were very delicious. NO COMPLAINTS! For mains I order the greasy tasteless fish and chips and baked Mac and cheese I'm not even sure how to be descriptive about my items except to say they were not good I only ate half my food if that. My fish was falling apart because it was extremely greasy. The baked Mac and cheese did not meet standards not even close. Hubby ordered the RK burger with a substitute for truffle fries he added applewood bacon and avocado he said he was very bland and basic. The truffle aioli tasted better than the fries that's disappointing. Only reason I'm placing 2 stars is because the ambiance and our waiter Lisa. I'm very disappointed in this restaurant Gordon Ramsay needs to come visit for himself I don't see this place lasting too long if the food quality isn't worked on this place hasn't even be open 2 months I'm baffled at the fact that his name is even attached this restaurant. I can't remember the last time I had this great of an experience at a restaurant. Let's start with Seth. Best waiter ever. I went to the bathroom, and when I was gone he picked up my napkin and spun it back into a cone and put it down. I am very indecisive, and he helped me pick out the best items on the menu. The harvest salad, which he recommended was huge. And had a bunch of items in it, that complemented each other. The chicken Milanese may be one of the best things I've ever tasted. Cream sauce- proccutto phenomenal . The best part- the menu had sandwiches on it that were a couple dollars more than a sandwich at Panera- I really appreciate that the average American family could come here and have dinner and be able to afford it. Waited three months for my reservation for my birthday. Me and the wife got to sit across from the kitchen. Great view. My expectations for this restaurant were very high considering all the other reviews. My beef Wellington was served cold. The mashed potatoes were really cold The fish and chips. The fish was under seasoned. My birthday desert caramel was burned. My biggest disappointment of the night was the food. We are huge foodies and travel We wanted the experience. I really wanted to love this place. The service was on point. Our waiter was amazing. The service was great. But the food is why we came. Amazing! Always tastes great! Service is great and food is always on par. Great for celebrating

Went back last night for my birthday and was such a great visit. The Shrimp Scampi was amazing and not heavy at all. I got the ribeye and ended up asking for the Red Demi Glaze on the side and it was cooked perfectly! The Beef Wellington was worth the hype. And I received a little mini sticky toffee dessert for my birthday - and as someone who doesn't even like toffee, i must insist that you try it! It was great!
