    Gluten free options!
    Jess B.

Great Harvest has been a staple in my house since I can remember. My mom would bring me in and I loved getting a sample and loading it with butter. I haven't been in for a few years since becoming gluten free. But I was pleasantly surprised to see the table of gluten free options. The gluten free pumpkin chocolate chip bread is delicious and the texture is perfect. I'll definitely be back for more. They also have gluten free frozen white bread available. It hasn't defrosted yet but I can't wait to make a grilled cheese sandwich just like I did when I was younger.

Such a delightful local option for breads & sweets. They are known for their fantastic seasonal offerings: hot cross buns for Easter, Swedish lumps bread for Christmas, turkey shaped rolls for Thanksgiving. These items have become part of our family's yearly traditions. Also, try the pumpkin chocolate chip bread--you will not be disappointed!

Had the opportunity to go this cute bakery today. First of all, the staff is so freaking sweet and amazing. They gave me a free loaf while I was sitting outside waiting for my car to be fixed. It shows excellent customer service and the fact that they truly care not just about customers but everyone. I went in and omg there is SUCHHHHH a huge variety of sandwiches, breads, muffins, cinnamon rolls. I felt like I could've spent an hour in there and still not have my order figured out haha. I loved loved how many options they had!! Anyways, went with the Asiago Italian focaccia loaf and brought it home. Could not wait to get into it because it smelled HEAVENLY! My husband isn't much into breads but he had one bite and his face completely lit up! He could not stop eating!! We're already halfway through the loaf and I just got this today so needless to say, we LOVED it!! Would go back over and over again!!

We have enjoyed many loaves from Great Harvest! This week was a little disappointing. Our sourdough loaf seemed a bit dense and once cut I saw it was underbaked. Please make sure your bread is done, unless I wasn't aware it was parbaked.

I'm obsessed with the pumpkin chocolate chip bread. The staff I'm sure knows my face since I'm there 1-2x a week to get more. Sometimes I show up at 6:45am (when they open) before work and sure enough, one pumpkin chocolate chip bread will be waiting for me if they are freshly baking some that morning. Anyone who knows me, knows I hype up this bread, and once they try some, they understand the hype as well.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while, and finally got a chance to stop in and grabbed a breakfast sandwich and a few different loaves of bread. Honestly, I threw the ham and cheese breakfast sandwich away, it resembled fast food and fake egg and that is not at all what I was expecting. The pumpkin chocolate chip bread was really good and even my daughter gobbled it up. The seeded bread was ok. Overall, I wasn't blown away so I probably won't be back, but if May be a good place for people with special dietary needs to buy fresh baked breads.

I drive 45 minutes for their hot cross buns each Easter. Their lime bread, white chocolate cherry and trek bars are amazing too.

Those items are a bit pricier than the rest but they are quite unique. The cruffins are flakey, sugary without being overwhelming, creamy but subtle, and very satisfying. I have a strong sweet tooth and I am greedy. So I generally like to try more than one item in one sitting. These portions are not small and I would recommend sharing if you want to try a variety. I have monthly appointments in the general area and I try to plan it so that I will have enough time before or after my appointment to make a quick stop at Fiene's. My visits are usually during the week and I would be in and out within 10 minutes.

You grab a tray and tongs, then wander through rows of fresh pastries and treats picking out whatever catches your eye. It's such a fun experience and makes you want to try everything (which honestly isn't a bad idea because everything is delicious). I've tried so many items here over the years, and I can confidently say I've never been disappointed. The coffees and teas are also fantastic and pair perfectly with all the baked goodies. This visit, I grabbed the spinach and feta pastry, which is one of my all-time favorites. It's buttery, flaky, packed with flavor, and somehow manages to taste even better every time I get it. For something sweet, you can't go wrong with either the chocolate croissant or the chocolate mousse tart. Both are rich, decadent, and chocolatey without being overwhelmingly sweet. The combination of a savory pastry, a sweet treat, and a good coffee is basically the perfect way to start a weekend morning. Fresh pastries, fun atmosphere, amazing drinks, and consistently delicious food--Tour Les Jours is always worth the stop. We already look forward to our next visit before we've even left!

Two weeks before the event, I came in person with a printed cake design, a clear color theme (green, cream, and white), and a macaron accent order to go with it. I was flexible on the design details, just committed to the vision. On the day of pickup, I arrived a little late -- my fault -- but there was no cake waiting, and my order couldn't be found. Hannah behind the counter did her best, and when owner Robert walked in, I calmly explained everything from the start. I won't lie -- I was heartbroken more than angry. This was a big night. What happened next is why I'm writing this review. Robert and his team didn't hesitate. They snapped a photo of the design from my phone, asked every detail, and promised to make it right -- with Robert personally delivering the cake to the venue (thankfully just 5 minutes away). And he did. He showed up with the cake designer in tow and delivered something truly stunning: a handsome, elegant cake that fit the theme perfectly and genuinely wowed my brother and guests. And the flavor? Their Atomic. Banana (pudding), strawberries (jam), and chocolate, vanilla & banana cake. YUM! It was incredibly moist and delicious. What could have been a devastating hiccup for such a milestone night became one of the most memorable parts of the celebration. That's a testament to Robert and his team's character, dedication, and craft. Thank you, Area 51 Cupcakery. We've loved your cupcakes from day one, and this experience only deepened our loyalty. My first time visiting I tried the following cupcakes: chai pumpkin latte (daily special and DANGGGG DELICIOUS), Almond wedding (my least favorite but still good, I think almond cupcakes just aren't for me), cookies and cream (divine, rich, 2nd favorite), and the Boston cream (also 2nd favorite lol). All of the cupcakes were moist, fluffy, and full of flavor. They are made daily and you can feel and taste the love. Area 51 is definitely my favorite cupcake spot of all time. I've gone to Area 51 probably every week since finding em and I can't get enough. They also made cupcakes for my baby's gender reveal. I sought out this location since I definitely liked the Glenn Ellyn, stand alone location (See my review for that location). I did not realize it until I got there but this location is located in a food hall, a part of the H-Mart Asian grocery chain's delivery concept. The scaled down, food hall version, in line with, and surrounded by the sights, sounds, and aromas of a great but distracting variety of Asian food offerings, distracts and dilutes the impact of the distinctly different "Paris Baguette" concept (One of these things is not like the others). I will say that the food was good and I would say consistent with the stand-alone location; however, the highly eclectic mix of eateries, in an open food hall, obliterates the more authentic visual and environmental feel of a modern Parisian pâtisserie experience that is delivered by the stand alone store. In recently reviewing Paris Baguette's direct competitor and similar concept, basically across the street from this location, I opined that I would choose Paris Baguette if pressed to make a choice between the two; however, not In this particular instance/location.
