Naperville location. Bottom Line: The food hall version of this concept is not the same experience as the stand alone location, though the food quality is consistent. I sought out this location since I definitely liked the Glenn Ellyn, stand alone location (See my review for that location). I did not realize it until I got there but this location is located in a food hall, a part of the H-Mart Asian grocery chain's delivery concept. The scaled down, food hall version, in line with, and surrounded by the sights, sounds, and aromas of a great but distracting variety of Asian food offerings, distracts and dilutes the impact of the distinctly different "Paris Baguette" concept (One of these things is not like the others). I will say that the food was good and I would say consistent with the stand-alone location; however, the highly eclectic mix of eateries, in an open food hall, obliterates the more authentic visual and environmental feel of a modern Parisian pâtisserie experience that is delivered by the stand alone store. In recently reviewing Paris Baguette's direct competitor and similar concept, basically across the street from this location, I opined that I would choose Paris Baguette if pressed to make a choice between the two; however, not In this particular instance/location. I get wanting to proliferate the name and concept in the market but, in my opinion, the food-hall version dilutes and detracts from the nice experience of the stand-alone store. This was my first time trying a Paris Baguette. I had heard of their promo going on every week in January that allowed you to get a $3 latte and so as I was leaving H-Mart on one of those bitterly cold days I stopped by this location located in the food court area to get something to keep me warm on the drive home. It was midday and I was feeling a little hungry too so I was glad to see that the pastry cases weren't completely wiped out and a couple of ham and cheese croissants looking just too good to pass up. Staff were all really nice and on top of everything. This is more of a grab and go location but you can definitely sit down and enjoy your drink or a meal at the shared food court seating if it's not too busy. The latte was a little too on the sweet side for me but the flavor was good. I would say the croissant was the highlight of this visit though. While waiting for my food to be finished so I could go to my hotel and eat it in silence, I stopped here both nights I was in Naperville to get some items that looks tasty. Last night I went more sweet; like a cronut. It had a fruit topping but the paper bag they put it in basically took all of it off. Hard to eat items without making a giant mess. Tonight I chose savory, getting the curry and crab buns, and the pepperoni pizzatta. Can't wait to jump into that after I am ready to mow them down. I stopped by Paris Baguette this morning and left very disappointed. The prices are premium but the products I received were not. I ordered six pastries, one with a coupon for a free item. The croissant donuts had almost no filling, and the almond croissant pastry that was supposed to be filled with almond cream or custard cream had nothing of the sort. There was no filling inside or on top, despite what the description and photos promised. At nearly five dollars per small pastry, this felt misleading and far from the quality expected at that price point. The pastries were subpar and gave the impression that fillings were being rationed. In the past I have had good experiences at this location, which makes this visit even more disappointing. The other Chicago location produces far superior pastries, which only highlights how poorly this location performed. Overall, the quality did not match the branding or the price, and it left me questioning whether it is worth returning. read more

My parents and I had been to a location in Texas and wanted to see how this one was, so we went for breakfast on a weekday. According to them, it's smaller than the location they went to in Texas, but still has a variety of choices, from mochi donuts to fruit tarts to croissants to mini quiches, as well as some Japanese-style baked goods filled with red bean. There are also a variety of beautiful cakes. I'd never had a mochi donut and chose the pistachio flavor to try. Interesting but it was a bit too sweet for me. Next time I would go with one of the standard pastries. Place your items on a tray using tongs, pay at the counter and eat at the central cafeteria style table setup. read more

They OVERCHARGE you when you are not looking closely. When I went back with the receipt and a picture of what I got, they were very dismissive and just said they would refund me. However, they did not take the receipt or let me insert my card so they had no way of finding the transaction. Surely the refund did not happen. After trying a few more pastries, I think Paris Baguette is finding its way into my heart and definitely my stomach. The whole red bean bread has definitely made its way to the top of my favorites here. The mix of cream and red bean pâte à choux is a thing of beauty. It's also one of the bigger items too. Looking at the nutritional info for these various pastries, I was shocked at how short the ingredient list is! I spotted this bakery recently after shopping at H Mart, so decided to come back with the wife later. We went today and got a few items. Paris Baguette is located inside H Mart's food court at the far-left corner. The look & feel is pretty much exactly the same as other Korean bakeries I've been to. The only downside is that eating there is cafeteria style and doesn't feel as intimate as, say, Tous les Jours down the street. They had a great selection of bakery items. They list some of the key ingredients and the calories. The display and presentation was nice. The coffee menu didn't seem as expansive as other places (i.e. I didn't see macchiato or cloud mocha), but I was only able to do a quick review of the menu. In any case, we picked up the following: Soft Cream Red Bean Brioche, Crab Meat Croquette, Tiramisu King Cream Donut. I love red bean pastries and I love cream, so I was happy to find a pastry with both inside. The brioche was very good, but not as good as some other red bean pastries I've had. The croquette was also very tasty and a nice warm treat on a cold winter morning. Not much crab meat, but that's to be expected due to cost. The tiramisu donut was awesome. It was big, plump, and filled with cream. I asked about alcohol and they confirmed that the tiramisu donut contains no alcohol, although the tiramisu cake does, so please keep that in mind. I'm from nearby Toronto and I've been to their Paris Baguette and I have no idea how this location even exists. There were only one or two pastries and/or cakes to choose from which is just sad. And on top of that, the service here is rather on the rude side. The rainbow cake I purchased was also very expensive. While it was good, I don't think they need to charge what they do here. If you still wish to check this place out, do so, but don't come to me saying I didn't warn you about what to expect about this place. read more

I'm giving 1 star because of the poor customer service. First the lady got my coffee wrong, she didn't seem to understand and looked at me weirdly. Until I told her please cancel my drink order, I did not have time to wait another 15mins for a coffee. They started talking in Korean and gave me a look, I'm assuming one of them is the supervisor. I've always loved the pastries here and the service had always been lovely. This is really upsetting for just the wrong coffee order, a simple sorry would have been nice instead of giving me a look. Love this bakery, especially their large filled croissants (Green tea matcha and strawberry). Their cakes are so amazing! Very light, not that heavy frosting like you'd get in a grocery store. My favorite drink is the hot matcha green tea latte but on the weekends, young girls are working there who do NOT know how to make them. I'm taking two stars off for the ridiculous service I received while trying to check out. I was standing by the cash register, ready to check out for solid 7 minutes without anyone acknowledging me. One employee was busy making a drink, while the other one was having a casual conversation on his cell phone in front of me and other waiting customers. He totally saw us, walked by the register multiple times without acknowledging our existence. The only reason I didn't leave everything at the counter is because I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt and not assume that he is employed there. I used to love Paris Baguette, especially this one because of the convenience after grocery shopping at H Mart. However, I stopped coming a year ago because I grew extremely dissatisfied with the aesthetics and quality of the pastries. Everything tasted burnt, looked messy, things like the pastries with fruit or the donuts looked quite unappetizing, almost disgusting. However, for the 3 past months, I've become a loyal customer after being convinced by my husband to go check it out again. I usually come in the early afternoons on weekdays (less busy) and the displays look lovely. The decorations look almost too good to eat, my husband especially loves the mochi donuts, decorated so neatly. I am a fan of their "Strawberry Lemon Croissant" and "Cream Cheese Pastry". My only complaint is sometimes the staff in the front cannot communicate well in English. There are typically other workers who speak fluent English who come out and translate. They are always kind and friendly but it does feel like a hassle. However, this problem typically does not happen on the weekends (only weekdays). Although in the past I would have given this establishment a 2/5, the pastries themselves bring it up to a 5/5. There is a noticeable change in quality and aesthetics and the professional in charge make my husband and I's days sweeter. read more
