Tour Les Jours has officially become one of our favorite weekend traditions! If you're planning a…read morevisit, do yourself a favor and go early--the best items disappear fast, and for good reason. One of the things I love most is the bakery setup. You grab a tray and tongs, then wander through rows of fresh pastries and treats picking out whatever catches your eye. It's such a fun experience and makes you want to try everything (which honestly isn't a bad idea because everything is delicious). I've tried so many items here over the years, and I can confidently say I've never been disappointed. The coffees and teas are also fantastic and pair perfectly with all the baked goodies. This visit, I grabbed the spinach and feta pastry, which is one of my all-time favorites. It's buttery, flaky, packed with flavor, and somehow manages to taste even better every time I get it. For something sweet, you can't go wrong with either the chocolate croissant or the chocolate mousse tart. Both are rich, decadent, and chocolatey without being overwhelmingly sweet. The combination of a savory pastry, a sweet treat, and a good coffee is basically the perfect way to start a weekend morning. Fresh pastries, fun atmosphere, amazing drinks, and consistently delicious food--Tour Les Jours is always worth the stop. We already look forward to our next visit before we've even left!

It wasn't overly sweet either, which honestly was refreshing. My daughter had a croissant and it was delicious, but she doesn't care for spicy cheese and there was a jalepeno cheese inside (I didn't mind though so I finished it). She also had a strawberry filled croissant which she loved! Said it tasted super fresh. Store is super aesthetic inside! Everything looked beautiful inside. Staff was also friendly and attentive. We will be back once we're in the area again.

First time eating inside a Buttermilk location. We came here around 8:30 am on a Sunday. Peak times…read moreare 9 am to about 1 pm on the weekends. Avoid coming at those times. Parking was not bad at the time we arrived but it can get obnoxiously packed. I like the Downers Grove one because they have their own parking lot. We were seated immediately even though it was starting to get busy. They have a lot of seating inside. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. I ordered the stuffed breakfast biscuit and it came with farmhouse potatoes. When you cut into the biscuit, you'll find bacon, scrambled eggs, and cheese. The biscuit itself was soft to cut and I liked the gravy. My cousin ordered the strawberry crepe and my girlfriend ordered the fried green tomato benedict. The portion sizes are enormous, you could make two meals out of this. I would say the prices are fair since they do give you a lot of food. If you find them expensive, Denny's and Ihop are cheaper alternatives. Everything was delicious. I forgot to mention but I recommend getting the strawberry orange juice. You won't regret it.

The reservation process has also vastly improved after the transitioned to a new system. As for the food. We get the kids menu options which our kids love (chicken tenders and grilled cheese). I usually do the stuffed biscuit but this time decided to try their special skillet with beef and Brussels sprouts! It was hearty and I would recommend! I asked them to make eggs with olive oil and they were able to accommodate this! My husband got the fried chicken skillet which he has ordered many times before. The honey butter pancakes are our favorite and we usually upgrade that side to this variety. Service was quick and friendly - I continue to recommend Buttermilk!

Naperville location…read more Bottom Line: The food hall version of this concept is not the same experience as the stand alone location, though the food quality is consistent. I sought out this location since I definitely liked the Glenn Ellyn, stand alone location (See my review for that location). I did not realize it until I got there but this location is located in a food hall, a part of the H-Mart Asian grocery chain's delivery concept. The scaled down, food hall version, in line with, and surrounded by the sights, sounds, and aromas of a great but distracting variety of Asian food offerings, distracts and dilutes the impact of the distinctly different "Paris Baguette" concept (One of these things is not like the others). I will say that the food was good and I would say consistent with the stand-alone location; however, the highly eclectic mix of eateries, in an open food hall, obliterates the more authentic visual and environmental feel of a modern Parisian pâtisserie experience that is delivered by the stand alone store. In recently reviewing Paris Baguette's direct competitor and similar concept, basically across the street from this location, I opined that I would choose Paris Baguette if pressed to make a choice between the two; however, not In this particular instance/location. I get wanting to proliferate the name and concept in the market but, in my opinion, the food-hall version dilutes and detracts from the nice experience of the stand-alone store. If a stand-alone opens here or near, I would come back.

It was midday and I was feeling a little hungry too so I was glad to see that the pastry cases weren't completely wiped out and a couple of ham and cheese croissants looking just too good to pass up. Staff were all really nice and on top of everything. This is more of a grab and go location but you can definitely sit down and enjoy your drink or a meal at the shared food court seating if it's not too busy. The latte was a little too on the sweet side for me but the flavor was good. I would say the croissant was the highlight of this visit though. Perfectly crispy and flaky with a good amount of filling too.
