    Dubai Chocolate Baklava
    Shay R.

Zmzm Sweets is one of the few places worth the drive from the city. I came across Zmzm Sweets from a video on social media discussing the Dubai chocolate. My friend and I quickly hopped in her car to check it out for ourselves. It's a little over 1.5+ hours from where I live so I recommend making an adventure out of the visit. The parking lot at Zmzm Sweets is massive so you shouldn't have any problem finding parking or locating the restaurant. The signage out front makes it hard to miss the entrance. The inside of Zmzm Sweets is massive! My friend and I came early so there were a ton of seats but I doubt you'd have a problem grabbing a seat during the peak hours. I've been to a few Middle Eastern dessert spots in Albany Park but Zmzm Sweets is the next level. I have never seen so many dessert options. It was overwhelming (in a good way!). Luckily my friend and I came during a non-peak hour so we were able to ask questions or get a sample of some desserts. I HIGHLY recommend the Dubai chocolate baklava. I had one bite of it and almost bought the whole pan. I struggle to put into words how delicious the Dubai chocolate baklava was. I would say that treat alone made the trip worth it. I definitely plan to come back and bring more people! My only ask is to save me a little Dubai chocolate baklava for my next visit!

What an awesome place! We had three green dubai chocolate bears(it is so cute)and fruit shaped cakes-mango, pineapple, cherry, black berry, cherry and banana. Mango was best, we think, but banana was soooo good with coffee. I tried their cheese with pistachio on a giant plate -that was interesting.

Very busy place and the sweets are so good the ambiance is awesome the prices a little high but to be honest is worth it because everything is made fresh

Baklava, bird's nest with pistachios and Dubai chocolate bar

Went there today as we wanted to check out the hype of a Dubai chocolate. But first, the space is clean, fairly large and I have to say, their staff are very friendly and helpful. We even got free samples of the baklava! Also have ample parking space and cute decor. We ended up buying two flavors of baklava and they were scrumptious. Not too sweet, which has been the challenge with other baklavas. We tried another dessert that had Oreo - it was okay but would not be buying that again. Then tried the bird's nest with pistachio- that was very flavorful and they do not skimp on the nuts. Then to the piece de resistance - ordered a bar of the Dubai chocolate. I have to say, both my husband and I were pleasantly surprised. Not having an idea of what a Dubai chocolate is, we did not expect it to have knafeh inside with all its gooey deliciousness. It was definitely worth the drive! Hubby also tried the Turkish coffee and sad to say, it's not to our palettes. Overall, we would come back to this gem in Chicago Ridge!

While a few results came up in a recent search for Dubai chocolates around Chicagoland, this was the only place out of three that actually had them on display. Our first time going there, we selected a handful of options from what was displayed on their counter along with a heart-shaped Dubai chocolate. Having more labels next to all of the trays would really help with identifying what's what. From what I can tell based on the appearance and how quickly the chocolate melts, I don't think the chocolate is tempered. The Knafeh heart was $7.21 We also had a Kanafa Nutella ($7.06) and Knafeh Kheshneh ($7.21); the pricing seems odd in that it doesn't come to a round number. We ate inside on our first visit. It is spacious, but it seems to get busy during certain times. We recently returned and got three bars of Dubai chocolate for a total of $18.70. This definitely seems a bit pricey. The layout can be confusing because where the signs indicate to order is removed from the displays of treats, so it's hard to indicate what you want to order. It was a bit chaotic figuring out where to go to actually get our chocolates and pay during a busy time.

    Mold

Knafeh tray. Paid close to 100.00 and it is a lump of mold. I bought this on the 24th fresh out of the oven . I even waited for them to make it FRESH . This is the 2nd time our knafeh has transformed into a lump of mold. I drove over an hour to pick this up for Christmas, and the following day it had turned to mold overnite. This is unacceptable and I will not be returning to zmzm sweets.

Pistachio and chocolate are all the rage and seem to be trending big time right now. Stepped into this shop and beautiful towers of sweet treats were everywhere. Love the unique decor and special architectural designs. You will have to see it for yourself. We started with a small serving of Kasseri Saganaki; warm griddled Greek cheese with a light crust of shredded phyllo dough on the top, drizzled with honey and crushed pistachios. I can't say that I loved it, it was different, but I am glad that I tried it. Then we tried the really thick chocolate bars stuffed with pistachio cream and toasted, shredded phyllo dough. This was absolutely delicious. A textural masterpiece. Will definitely return for another one. I would also be interested in trying another one of their unique sweet treats.

This place is amazing. The sweets taste incredibly fresh and you can tell they are made with real care and quality ingredients. Every dessert has the perfect balance of flavor and nothing is overly sweet. The presentation is beautiful and the service is always friendly and helpful. I was genuinely impressed and will definitely be coming back again.

While being on the hunt for the "famous " Dubai chocolate , I stumbled across this place ! And wow , glad I did! We found the mother load of Dubai chocolate! They had it in lots of shapes and sizes and we didn't have to preorder like at some other places. The price was very good $7 for a thick bar. Taste wise , amazing ! Lots of filling and the crunch was on point. Will definitely return for more! The person who helped us at the counter was great! Very polite! We didn't eat there but the place was spotless clean and very cozy !

I'm so glad I discovered this place while the weather was warm. They have outdoor seating and it's awesome to see families enjoying sweets next to a warm fire place and just having the best conversations. We were on a road trip from Indiana and needed just a small push to reach our suburban home and that push came in the form of knafeh. There was a line to get sweets but it moved fast. The knafeh was great and hit the spot. There were many attendants that made sure we had water. They gave us bottled water for free. There is a falafel sandwich food truck that can't be missed. I definitely want to come back for tea and sweets next time!

Came here for the famous Dubai chocolate. We got there early in a Saturday morning were able to snag one. People that came after us were getting multiple! The chocolate in my opinion was as good as everyone said it out to be. Wish this place wasn't so far from where I lived so I could grab more and try all the other sweets!

Place is pretty but bathroom was extremely gross. Most treats are 10 or over. Just a little over hyped.

I haven't tried everything. But knafeh is my favorite so far. I tried few chocolate cake pieces but was way too sweet for my liking.

It was pretty good, the best part was sitting in front of their fire oven they use to freshly bake their soft pillowy bread they use for their sandwiches. The bread was definitely the best part! Usually shawarma sandwhiches are in a wrap, but these are so much better. As far as the beef, it was good, not my favorite as far as flavor wise, but still pretty good. Fries were literally exactly like McDonald's which are the best. Glad to have tried this place for sure.

I decided to park next door at the McDonald's to avoid the mayhem. I walked into Nashmi and no line to order, however they did have 19 people working on one line, and yes I counted! After seeing that, it made me really think these guys must be busy as heck! Ambiance was nice and very clean! Tables with high top seating across the windows. Would not be an ideal place to dine in with a large group so something to keep in mind. As I approached the register, I was greeted and told I would be taken care of shortly! So far so good! I decided to order the "Nashmi Chicken Combo". I was told it was a sandwich that came with chicken tenderloin, flame grilled and served in a house made bread with garlic and pickles. Combo meant it came with 2 sandwiches and 1 order of fries and a drink. However, I didn't get my drink, it was such a confusing pickup process and no communication on to grab a soda or not. I spent $14.99 so for that much food, I guess the drink can be overlooked. I received my order, walked back to the car and now the food. I don't get it. Chicken was bland, bread was good but small, the overall sandwich was just nothing special. Maybe 5 pieces of chicken total in the sandwich. All I really tasted was the garlic sauce, which was phenomenal by the way, but I came here for the protein and the chicken was just underwhelming. The fries were equivalent to McDonald's but they were good, not seasoned or salted but still tasted good. Hot sauce was average. I ate one sandwich and felt terrible that all I ate was 80% bread and 20% chicken. I don't even eat the second sandwich. Overall not sure what everyone is waiting in line for or what this hype is. This doesn't even come close to the other middle eastern shawarma shops on Harlem Ave. I can understand if you have a very weak palate or cannot tolerate too much spice or flavor but a line out the parking lot is kinda crazy for this.
