First time at Cake N bake. This is genuinely my favorite sweet-shop I've been to in the state of Illinois so far. Plenty of parking. They have a selection of items to choose from such as cupcakes, cheesecakes, macaroons, etc. This isn't so much a sit-down cafe as there's limited space but more of a grab-n-go place. I will say it is very pricey but I thought everything tasted so good I wouldn't mind the price on a special occasion. I bought 3 stuffed croissants: one pistachio: one strawberry cheesecake, and one chocolate ,4 mini pistachio cupcakes,2 chocolate peanut butter pastrie cups, 2 tiramisu cup pastries, one fruit cup pastry, and one lemon cup pastry. My total was almost 80$ with tax. The tiramisu cup completely exceeded my expectations and was the best variation of tiramisu I've ever had. Surrounded by a chocolate shell: it's filled with tiramisu and moist cake on the inside sprinkled with cacao. The texture and taste is amazing. I also really liked the pistachio cupcakes because they were filled with raspberry, which I personally love. Service was good. I would recommend if in the area but be prepared to drop a little $$$

I came here on April 26, my mom's birthday, looking for a lemon flavored dessert, she loves lemon. I ended up getting her a lemon tart, which she said it was okay, but the tart had that lemon gel texture and she was not a fan. I also got a coconut cupcake which she liked and I got myself a birthday/confetti cupcake with sprinkles. It was tasty, but a tad dry. The cashier was friendly and went over EVERY item in the display case. Thank you

Strawberry cheesecake and a slice of snickers cake

My sis and I were so excited to make it to Cake n Bake. All of their dessert offerings looked so beautiful and sweetly satisfying. Despite it being late at night, the young teen employee answered all our questions and helped us pick out a few sweet treats. I have to add a star for customer service and the store for looking crisp, clean, and a confectionary's delight. After watching a video sent to me by my sister, the 1st thing on the agenda was to try their amazing looking stuffed croissants. We spent some money and ended up leaving with 2 rolled croissants, a slice of snickers cake, strawberry cheesecake, a box of macaroons, and a jar of banana pudding. I hate to say I was not in love with every desert I bought nor was fam liking anything. I have come to realize that a majority of non American deserts are not as sweet. Along with the decreased sweetness, non of us enjoyed any of the flavors. The croissants had way to much gelatinous filling for me. I prefer the texture and flavor of New York style cheesecake and this was not it. The macaroons did have that slight outer crisp but the flavors tasted very artificial. The cake and the pudding was not liked by the family either. I think everything was executed correctly in the process of making these deserts, but preferences and tastes are subjective and sadly I didn't care for anything here. The majority of reviews are positive so I wouldn't discourage anyone from coming here and trying out their confections.

The pastries were decent. The croissants were amazing. Like. So good. But would I drive from Indiana to revisit this place? No. Mainly because the guy behind the counter. We walk in and he's talking with a customer in a language I didn't understand. Which is fine. I thought they were talking business but no. It was clear after a few moments he was trying to get rizzy. She was super cute. Which is all good. We were looking and trying to decide what we wanted. But then it got to a point where we had questions. Again. I don't mind waiting my turn IF IT'S PROFESSIONAL but it wasn't... again. That's fine. I suppose. But when he did eventually get to us, he was very unfocused. Someone came out from the back and he started talking with him about... I don't know. I don't speak their language BUT we weren't done yet. It was pretty bad. Even the poor girl behind me was flustered. She was kind but he was confusing her cuz he couldn't focus. It was really unprofessional. And that's unfortunate. The place itself is SUPER cute and nicely set up. And again. The croissants. Delicious. There is a lot for parking.

Super cute bakery in Palos Hill. This bakery is located in a plaza, there is plenty of complimentary parking outside. Upon walking into the bakery you're welcomed with a fresh baked good smell, and endless pastries. We came by around 2pm and a lot of their pastries have already been sold out of. But we decided to try the hazelnut and blueberry lemon pastry, and the hazelnut and strawberry and cream jar. The pastries were filled with a cream. The hazelnut one was tasted like it was filled with a chocolate pudding and the blueberry one tasted like blueberry cream cheese. These are large enough to share between people, but fair warning it does get a tad messy. Overall we had a good experience, and would stop by again to try one of their flat croissants.

Stumbled across this place after a hike. I thoroughly enjoyed my post hike sweet treat! I was surprised and excited that I was able to finally try the stuffed croissant. I got pistachio my friend and blueberry cheesecake. They were amazing! I would want more filling, just a tad more, but it's very balanced and flavorful. They have a lot more pastries other than the croissants and I hope to be back soon to try a couple of them. The staff here are nice and the establishment is pretty clean. There are no areas for eating there, as a fyi.

    Dubai Chocolate Croissant

This is a cute bakery with fun offerings, but the flavor just seems to be a bit lacking. Service is quick. On my most recent visit, I tried a Strawberry Rolled Croissant ($9.10) and a Dubai Chocolate Croissant ($7.23). The second croissant was a surprise because it wasn't labeled, so I didn't even realize what it was until I bit into it. Worth a stop if you're nearby, but there are better bakeries in the city.

Outstanding! We went there on a Sunday after brunch. We ordered 3 items. Strawberry cheese cake, one of their pistachio round croissants and a tiramisu in a chocolate cup. Absolutely delicious. Each of them was put in a very high quality box. Not cheap. For all 3, around 23 dollars. But were they worth it? Oh yes! These were very well executed pastries that could be in a menu of a fine restaurant. Strongly recommend. The store itself is a small, but very quaint small place. Very clean and well presented. The only one thing a bit confusing is the name. It's not like you buy something there and bake it later as the name could suggest. That I could see, I could not see any item like that. I also learned that this a franchise so this one of many other stores. That said the place is so so good that it's worth a visit. Just great! I will be back many times.

I ordered a few things for delivery the packaging was cute and the cupcakes and cream Brulee were very delicious, the cupcakes were very moist and delicious perfect amount of filling I can't wait to go back and try more of the desserts.

First time here, very nice store. Large variety of items, some were already sold out for the day (I went in the late afternoon, so that is understandable but still lots of options). Service was friendly and welcoming and no problem parking. All the pastries we purchased were fresh and delicious, I loved the Dubai chocolate bar, and the croissant and the Oreo croissants were the best!! Would recommend.

I have had this place bookmarked for months and it was one of the first places we checked off in the new year. The straight-forward verdict - This places lives up to the hype and everything we had was just simply excellent. Here's what we tried: 1) Chocolate and blueberry macarons - My daughters are huge fans of macarons and they just went to town with these and didn't even pause to ask if we wanted to try. 2) The coffee mousse resembled a coffee bean and it consisted of chocolate sponge cake, chocolate hazelnut, and coffee mousse. It was delicate and soft. That was my dad's favorite. 3) The chocolate hazelnut mousse cake was decadent. 4) The lotus biscoff rolled croissant was literally layers and layers of butter from the lotus biscoff filling to the croissant which isn't necessarily a bad thing and I am glad we saved room for this after dinner. 5) The strawberry cheesecake rolled croissant, in my opinion, is a bit lighter than the lotus biscoff and I found it more enjoyable. Both rolled croissants had the perfect flakey texture. I am amazed by the variety and quality of the desserts as well as their store hours. Even though we visited around 5 pm on a Saturday, there were still plenty of choices to choose from. If this location were closer to home, I would be packing on a lot of weight with my frequent visits.

So good! Cake n' bake is a bit of a drive for us but it was so worth it. The pastry quality is great and the flavors are delicious. The winner for me was the pistachio stuffed croissant. I have yet to try another place that has these type of croissants. Service was ok, they were close to closing so they didn't have too much left. Overall, we will be back to try more of their offerings.

This is such a cute and dainty bakery! I noticed a lot of reviews stating that there aren't any pricing and labels to distinguish what the items are and I am happy to report that both are there and available! The staff here is polite and friendly. Even the clientele is super friendly lol. It was my first time there and the gentleman waiting for his niece's birthday cake gave my friend and I suggestions on what to get and where to take pics lol. I ordered one of the custard rolls that were on the top left of the counter. There were only 2 left so I figured it was a popular item to try, it was meh. The stuffed croissants are where it's at!! I had the strawberry cheesecake one and my friend had the pistachio one. I reaaaaaaaly enjoyed this - soft, creamy, crispy outside and great to share (or not lol)! My friend said she really liked hers too. I didn't try hers but that was one of the recommendations and she's already raving about coming back ASAP. We both live about an hour from here and it was worth the drive!

I've been a regular customer at this bakery for a long time -- my son loves their cookies, and I've…read morespent hundreds of dollars here over time. But my recent experience ordering a custom cake for my husband's 40th birthday was so disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others. I ordered a two-tier custom cake for nearly $400, plus two dozen mini cupcakes for $110, bringing my total close to $500. For comparison: * Most privately owned bakeries charge around $200-$350 for a two-tier custom cake depending on complexity. * Mini cupcakes typically cost $20-$50 per 24, even from gourmet bakeries. So I paid premium pricing, and I expected premium quality. Unfortunately, that's not what I received. Design Issues The cake did not resemble the inspiration photos we discussed. I asked for a deep, elegant green with blended transitions -- something fitting for an adult's 40th birthday theme. Instead, the cake looked more like a Minecraft or Ninja Turtle cake with bright neon green, flat colors, and no blending. When I brought up the design issue, the owner blamed me, saying the buttercream "needs to sit out for 4-5 hours to darken." The cake did sit out for almost 5 hours, and the color never changed. It wasn't even close to the shade I requested. The explanation didn't make sense, and it felt like I was being blamed for something that was simply a design mistake. Quality Issues: Undercooked Cake When we cut the top tier at the party, we discovered: * an unusually thick 2-inch layer of frosting in the middle, * and a raw, floury, undercooked interior. The texture and aftertaste confirmed it wasn't baked through. We ended up throwing away the entire top tier and whatever was left over at the end of the night. This is more than disappointing -- it's a food safety concern. Customer Service & Tone This was honestly the most frustrating part. When I reached out to discuss what went wrong, the owner's tone was polite on the surface, but the conversation felt passive-aggressive, full of constant rebuttals, and completely lacking in accountability. Every single concern I raised was met with: * an excuse, * a deflection, * or a technical explanation that didn't match my actual experience. There was zero acknowledgment that anything might have been done incorrectly. She repeatedly mentioned things like: * "I didn't charge you for the little decorative balls -- those were free," * "I didn't charge you for the cake topper, it was $3.99," which felt unnecessarily frugal and honestly strange considering I spent almost $500 there. Mentioning $3.99 repeatedly after charging me hundreds of dollars made the whole interaction feel awkward and unprofessional. She also offered me a few free cookies -- but only if I used them this year because she "couldn't move the gift card into the next year due to accounting." I didn't want cookies. I wanted a partial refund, which was the only fair resolution. She immediately shut that down and said she "couldn't do that because of policy," even though she is the owner who sets the policies. There was no room for discussion, no willingness to listen, and no genuine concern for the customer experience. Overall For nearly $500, I received: * a cake that didn't match the design, * colors that were incorrect, * an undercooked top tier, * and a customer service experience that was rigid, dismissive, and full of excuses. I don't post negative reviews lightly, but this was extremely poor value for the price, and the lack of accountability afterward made the situation far worse. I hope this bakery takes this feedback seriously and improves both quality control and how they handle issues when they arise.

The buttercream was not sweet at all, which I really enjoyed. The cake itself was moist and cooked perfectly. My fiancé also enjoyed it.
