This bakery has been here for a while and has a wide variety of different types of pastries--doughnuts, flan, cookies, turnovers, cannoli, cupcakes, etc. My favorites include the iced sugar cookies and doughnuts. They also have lots of options to customize your cup of coffee. They have many pastries available in their cases, but can also order ahead for specialized or large orders. Definitely overrated! I bought chocolate chip cookies and they hard as a rock. Not even dunking these cookies and milk could bring them back to life. The donuts are okay, the pastries are good but everything else is just okay. Other bakeries in the neighborhood are definitely better. What made me come and write this review is there a German chocolate cake. Normally, the cake would be frosted with chocolate frosting, coconut and nuts. I thought the cake looked okay even though it had whipped cream frosting but I'd like to know who's stupid idea it was to put Nutella inside a German chocolate cake! This was not a good. There's a sticker on and the container that states contains nuts, you should put a sticker on there that says contains Nutella. I ended up eating the frosting and tossing the rest. How disgusting to put Nutella in this cake! It's not even worth the trip when everything is subpar. read more

Purchased a pumpkin cheesecake before Thanksgiving to taste before buying another for a party and it was DRY and just meh. I never thought the best paczki I've ever had would come from Costco, but behold this is the bakery they source them from. Normally I get filling overload from jelly donuts/paczki, but I actually find that I can't get enough of these. With most paczki, there's also the problem of dry, brittle dough but these ones have a remarkable soft consistency that last several days and even longer than a week--that's a mark of a QUALITY pastry. i've been coming here for years, mostly for their excellent donuts and the best apple fritters in town. but i tried the apple strudel today, on a whim. WOW! i used to drive to Racine, for kringles, when i needed a strudel fix. not anymore. this was the best strudel i've ever tasted. the pastry was flaky and tender, at the same time. the real cinnamon apple filling is delicious and not a syrupy mess; and is distributed evenly between the perfect pastry. such a good find. i also recently discovered the apple fritter "loaf" (which looks like pure sin and will be coming home with me, next time) and yummy looking cider donuts (seasonal). i'll be back, soon! read more

Is it terrible that I'd come here every day if I could? I found Talerico-Martin after doing a Yelp search for "good doughnuts" and decided to give them a try. This bakery has PHENOMENAL stuff - I have eyes only for the doughnuts, but they have cake, delicious-looking cookies, and tons of pastries. I got a dozen doughnuts for under $9 - you can't beat that, but when you put the price together with the quality, it's a true winner! These doughnuts are soooooooo good; I am not a cake doughnut fan, but I could probably eat 6-7 of the chocolate-iced cake doughnuts at at time. (No, this is not an exaggeration!) The bakery is clean and uncluttered, the workers are friendly and kind, and they have a great selection of chips, coffee, drinks, and party favor-type things (my son spotted a Spiderman tabletopper that we just HAD to have :)). It is well worth a drive if you do not live in the area - it's about an hour round trip for us, but I will still be a regular customer! Parking is on the street, but there are no meters, and it's across the street from a high school, so you may want to wait until the "school rush" has died down to avoid traffic and congestion. One of a couple of Jems in Summit, the bread is super fresh. This place has been around since the 80's they just never sold to the public. Straight to stores and gas stations. Now they have a store front shop and you can get all their great breads fresh daily. My go to are the muffins they're huge and delicious, they never fail to be a hit at party's and at work. They're coffee isn't the best, but to be honest I come here for the muffins and sweet rolls. Awesome price for an delicious product. Highly recommend this one if your in the area. Little secret, don't know if they still do this, but after a certain hour of the day they sell their products at a discounted price. read more
