We really wanted to like this place because everything looks great online and it does smell good when you walk in. Today my fiancé and I tried the confetti cupcake, and we honestly really did not like it at all. The buttercream tasted like super strong shortening or strictly butter taste. Nothing like any other buttercreams I've tried at other bakeries. It was not good. We also tried the strawberries and cream cupcake, and that was better than the confetti cupcake, but tasted unfortunately very artificial tasting, and neither of us were a fan of that either. The bakery has really nice cakes, everyone is friendly, but we just did not like the cupcakes, unfortunately. Cupcakes are around $3 each. read more

This is the second custom cake I've ordered in the last year, and it won't be the last! I made the order over email, sending an example and color pallet I wanted, and it turned out better than the example picture I sent! The communication was quick and easy. The cake not only looked PERFECT it was delicious as well! Chocolate cake w cannoli filling and butter cream. As a joke we brought home the yarn balls for my dad, and he cut them open, we were super surprised there was rice crispies in the center and very tasty as well! I usually don't leave reviews, but my experience with creative cakes was very frustrating. I filled out an inquiry form for my wedding cake and heard nothing back, so after a week I called to see if there was any progress in looking over the inquiry. The lady told me I probably filled out the form wrong because they never got it. I said no problem and filled out the form again. Never heard anything back. Poor communication, I will be moving on to other options for a wedding cake. read more

This cake got rave reviews, and many at the party said it was the best cake they've ever had! What we love most about Creative Cakes is that the buttercream frosting is not too sweet! Our wedding tasting was a take home followed up by a zoom meeting. We designed our own cake with our ideas and they were able to draw up exactly what we wanted. Their tasting process was so simple - pick up a sampler of their cakes and buttercreams to take home and have at your own convenience. Their product was delicious and we had a hard time choosing what we wanted - ultimately went with a banana cake and white chocolate frosting. Working with their designers was so simple as well. I used to live in Tinley for years and LOVE the baked goods here! I came into town to host a baby shower for my daughter and stopped into the bakery to pick up some cookies for the sweet table. I tried to keep it light and even mentioned my pregnant daughter to try and lighten the mood.
