We really wanted to like this place because everything looks great online and it does smell good when you walk in. Today my fiancé and I tried the confetti cupcake, and we honestly really did not like it at all. The buttercream tasted like super strong shortening or strictly butter taste. Nothing like any other buttercreams I've tried at other bakeries. It was not good. We also tried the strawberries and cream cupcake, and that was better than the confetti cupcake, but tasted unfortunately very artificial tasting, and neither of us were a fan of that either. This is the second custom cake I've ordered in the last year, and it won't be the last! I made the order over email, sending an example and color pallet I wanted, and it turned out better than the example picture I sent! The communication was quick and easy. I usually don't leave reviews, but my experience with creative cakes was very frustrating. I filled out an inquiry form for my wedding cake and heard nothing back, so after a week I called to see if there was any progress in looking over the inquiry. The lady told me I probably filled out the form wrong because they never got it. I said no problem and filled out the form again. Never heard anything back. Their tasting process was so simple - pick up a sampler of their cakes and buttercreams to take home and have at your own convenience. Their product was delicious and we had a hard time choosing what we wanted - ultimately went with a banana cake and white chocolate frosting. Working with their designers was so simple as well. I used to live in Tinley for years and LOVE the baked goods here! I came into town to host a baby shower for my daughter and stopped into the bakery to pick up some cookies for the sweet table. I had my two adult daughters with me and we walked in about 3:40 on Saturday. We were so happy to pick out sweet treats... our happy mood was ruined by a very miserable girl who waited on us. I tried to keep it light and even mentioned my pregnant daughter to try and lighten the mood. That didn't work at all...she was completely rude straight faced and didn't even say thank u for my my purchase...I recall she had thick black eyeliner and needs to learn how to treat customers. And to avoid any confusion, it's tucked in the corner of the strip mall next to AT&T. I like the prices here. Standard vanilla and choc cupcakes will run $1.35 and fancier, filled ones (like pina colada, raspberry lemonade, and white mousse filled red velvet) are only $1.65. With plenty of other sweet treats to choose from - brownies, bars, mini tarts, and cookies - I got a petit four with 2 cupcakes. The petit four was very marzipan heavy, overpowering the cake. Light and fluffy characterized the cake. Yum! I know buttercream is supposed to have butter in it, but it was too heavy in the frosting on the raspberry lemonade cupcake, and I actually didn't finish a glob of it.
