For sure it's hard to not like a bakery. It also feels good to support a local business that's family owned and smells freaking good. Nova Bakery is one of several in Blue Island. Has lots to choose from. They have more of a Mexican influence but they can make many types of pastries. Came here in the morning and got stuff that was freshly baked. It's kind of a small place that has a counter. They take a lot of custom orders. A popular place around here to get cakes. Popular whether for things like birthdays or weddings, they'll make it for you. A lot of amazing examples. They also have a lot simpler items like breads and cookies you can just pop in and get. It's about $6 to get a big loaf that's freshly baked. The pastries include cannoli and other classics as well as classic Mexican ones like panaderia and that kind of stuff. Great stuff especially when it's fresh. It's closed Sundays. This is among the several bakeries on Western. read more

Nova Bakery - Pastries - Bakeries Near Me - Blue Island, Illinois

13030 Western Ave Blue Island IL 60406 Novabakery001@gmail.com 708-385-6616 I visit nova bakery and when I got home my pastries were not all the way baked right like they were frozen and someone put it in the oven to bake again the bakery smelled good when I entered but my pastries don't. I tried to purchase a refund, but the owner refused to issue a refund. I didn't want to ask to place another order because the owner was sweeping the floor when I came into the restaurant and taking a phone call with gloves on while I was looking around the store at the beautiful undercooked bakery pastries a customer walked in while she was on the phone and she served the customer after the call in dirty gloves. I will never go to this place again this is not the way to run a business if help is needed hire help. I would give no stars if I can. The only excuse she tried to use was the bread dough comes only one time in the morning which doesn't explain why I was given old pastries when I placed my order in advance. read more

Bread is delicious and the service is friendly. I would go back in a heartbeat. Excellent pastries and fresh French loaves!

My cousin ordered a custom cake from here for another cousin's birthday. The cake was nice to look at and it was delicious. Chocolate with white (I guess vanilla) frosting. It was moist and I could have had 3 pieces. Well, I did. read more

Always surpass my imagination! I have been getting cakes from them for the past six years and each one gets better and better. Their speciality cakes are equivalent to something in the movies. They are delicious, immaculate, and HUGE. The one I most recently ordered was a graduation cake that was supposed to serve 40. It ended up serving almost 100 slices. Their pricing is below average so that is always a plus. Everyone there is so friendly and willing to design anything you want. The creativity in this bakery is like none other. A great find and a go-to for all functions. read more

My relatives and myself bought a. ROSCA de REYES here on the 6 of January, it was in a box so you can not see it clearly. This meeting is usually done a few days before or after January 6 at the offices or places outside the home, however for the family reunions they are normally held in homes on the sixth day of January in the evening, Epiphany Day or the appearance of the Wise Men or Magi Kings: Balthazar, Melchior and Caspar. read more

It is both a blessing and a curse living next to a bakery. Living between two however is just pure bliss! Every time I look outside my window and see that open sign lit up like Christmas morning I get so excited about picking those delicious carbs off the shelves. The scent is divine from heaven till 9 and if you're not careful you'll leave with a barrel full of sweets, treats, and possibly "let's meets". The feeling is truly sublime. \(^_^)/ read more

When in to Molinos for some bread the employees were really nice. As soon as i walk in Some young man by the name of Ariana rushed to the counter like the flash and took good care of me and was polite. Everytime i go Ariana and Mireya are like speeding cars after a shoot out on the Southside of chicago. Good service, good bread and good shit, Amen. read more

You would think it would be really easy to pick out a wedding cake for my special day. Yeah right! What type of design, how many tiers, how many people, flavors, etc. All I knew was that I wanted a simple, pretty and yummy wedding cake! I have visited various bakeries and many of them are pricey or the design just didn't catch my eye. A friend of mine recommended Molino Bakery so I took a drive over there. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. I finally picked out a 2-tier cake covered with purple flowers, strawberry filled yellow cake. Totally excited to see the finished wedding cake. read more

We buy bread all the time for our big parties from this bakery. We normally get the mini rolls they got but have been trying out their extra long french breads. turns out they work just as well. We also get a cake for my grandfathers birthday every October and it turns out real well. The help we get from behind the counter is great and the guy who works there is always helpful. Their milk cake is good too but I haven't tried it anywhere else so I don't know how to judge it. Place seems like its always open too. read more

My husband bought a birthday cake here for my daughter. It was great so two weeks later when it was his birthday I went back. First of all, I asked for a white cake and was shown 3 to choose from. I bought one and brought it home to serve at my husband's party. Sliced into it and it was chocolate. Oh well. But then when everybody started eating they took one bite and left the rest on the plate. My daughter said, " What's wrong with this cake?" It tasted like the fresh fruit in the cake had fermented. How long was that cake sitting on the shelf? So, I guess this place is hit or miss. Really good, or bad. read more

Molino baked the cake for my daughter's graduation party. Everyone said the Tres Leches was the best cake they'd ever eaten. It was wonderful. Don't buy this cake too many days before your party, however -- the cake can 'fall' due to its high liquid content. So moist and delicious, worth every penny. read more
