It's a small place. There's the entrance and then the counter is almost there. I chose a few of these pineapple empanadas. It's $0.59 each if you can believe it. They have a few of these so called dessert empanadas if you're looking for something interesting, or put in a custom order. Happy to report my guests liked these empanadas. La Dolce Bakery has some amazing breakfast burritos. Likely the best in Blue Island! A little over $6 will get you an egg, sausage and american cheese burrito with a hash brown like McDonald's, but almost twice its size. The burrito is just toasty enough and the cheese is nice and melty. This is an excellent deal, and one burrito/hash brown combo will be plenty filling for most people. (I am deciding to smash 2 of these, because I enjoy big breakfasts sometimes.) The egg and chorizo burrito comes with pickled jalapeño (and cotija? Some really nice white cheese) and is a nice, spicy way to wake up. Also totally recommended. These are ABSOLUTELY worth the wait, and seem to take 5 minutes each to make so time your day accordingly (seriously, don't be late and stupid) but I am sure you can call your order in ahead to pick up! read more

Ordered a Sweet 15 cake from here literally a week before the party! I was super happy when I found out they could make it! I showed them a few photos gave, them the number of guests, they gave me a design, and even delivered to the party!! I had so many compliments on the cake!! Order a cake for a big event, cake looked nice unfortunately frosting was changed without my consent nor knowledge. Very unfortunately!

Hubby and I have been going here for over a year. We've had a good variety of their sweet rolls, quesadillas and tamales. All super yummy! Their tres leches cake is the bomb and when we've gotten their cookies to treat a couple of groups, there were nothing but compliments on them. La Dolce has provided sweet rolls for 2 family gatherings and we were pleasantly surprised at how long the rolls stayed fresh. Also, their coffee is wonderful but I wish they'd serve decaf as well as regular. Friendly staff and great goodies - check them out. read more

I went to La Dolce in search of Chicago's best cannoli. With sooo many in town its hard to pick! I walked into this quaint little establishment only to have the 2 ladies working the counter look at me and walk into the back. One came back and asked if I needed help, I said yes I was looking for cannoli...but didn't see any in their showcase. She said we have chocolate ones and when I looked down I saw these tiny chocolate slathered cannolis. I mentioned oh I've never seen chocolate. She decided to walk into the back leaving me waiting for quite a few more minutes. The second lady came back to the front asking if I had been helped. I said oh yeah I'd never seen a chocolate covered cannoli and wondered if that was the only kind they had. She said no that was all they made. So of course my husband bought quite a few. But for me they were so extremely sweet I was glad they were so tiny. Cute place, nice size for a cannoli, but customer service needs lots of improvement. read more
