Really disappointed in our last Pierre's experience. We called ahead to place an order for an 8" Tres Leches cake and the woman told us we didn't have to because they always have them in the case. So, Friday we drove up and purchased our cake for Saturday evening. We opened the cake and all but three of the strawberries were moldy. Beyond disgusting. This company completely fucked my baby first birthday up!!! First they charged me $200 for a Christian Dior cake and stated that the print would be edible! This cake was made with printer paper and was not edible. I ordered strawberries inside the cake but there give you the bare minimum and fill the rest with butter cream. This cakes tasted like it was frozen and thrown out because the bread tasted like it had water in it. It was disgusting!! When I called them they would not help me and basically stated I got what I got! I have attached photos!! Please do not shop with them you will be extremely disappointed. This place is immaculate and a lot bigger than it seems. It's super clean, sparkly, and gorgeous, with pretty butterfly art suspended from the ceiling. I haven't had everything, but what I have had is hit or miss. The tres leche cake was good, but the atomic cake was a hard pass (sorry, but nothing will ever come close to what Iversen's can do on that one). However, I'll definitely be back to try their ice cream and bread for a better idea of what they are capable of. I will say that their cake decorating ability is wildly creative. I've seen what some people have had done and it's truly incredible. You want a cake with stacks of money on it or a barbie doll, how about 100 roses? Yep. They can do it. I took pics of 3/5 of their cases. I'm missing the cookie case and the enourmous wall-length case of bread and various mexican pastries. Ultimately, the place has a lot to offer & they're open late so it's a perfect option for when you're strapped for time or when the rest of the Blue Island bakeries have long ago shut their doors. read more

I just picked up a cake that I ordered from Pierres Blue Island. I ordered a Tres Leche cake with chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate ganache covering the top and drizzling a bit over the edge. They gave me the cake with just chocolate covered strawberries. When I told the girl that this was wrong she was very rude and said that she took the order and that's what I told her! WRONG ANA!!! I know what I ordered and had discussed the cake with two of my friends. This cake is for a wedding celebration today! They took the cake and tried to remedy their mistake but it looks a mess and I think she also sprinkled some sugary substance on it! To have this cake as part of our wedding dinner and pictures is an embarrassment!! I received nothing but attitude and blaming and no apology and a messy looking cake!! My husband went to pick it up and they gave him the wrong cake. Not only was it wrong but it had chocolate on it that I hate. I remember when I was younger my Dad ALWAYS got my mom an atomic cake for her birthday. It's a layered cake with fresh strawberries, fresh bananas, & whipped cream icing. There's also layers of yellow & devil food cake. It's amazing. I called ahead to see if Pierre's made the atomic cake & the very kind girl who answered my call confirmed that they did! I went to Pierre's Bakery for a cake for my baby shower. While I was there I met with a lady and showed her a couple pictures of how I wanted the cake. We spoke for at least 30min and I asked if there was anything else I needed to provide and she said she had enough info. Unfortunately when I saw the cake, the name looked as if my 6 year old niece had wrote on the cake. A family member picked the cake up for me since I was so busy but even if I had picked it up myself, there was not enough time to have it fixed before my baby shower. I went the following week to speak with a Manager and was told the manager wouldn't be in until later but she would give me a call back. I left a picture of what I asked for and what I received. The lady the works there (same lady that initially took my order for the cake) apologized and said someone will follow up with me the same day. The manager never called so I called back the next say. I spoke with a guy about the matter and explained that I was awaiting a call back from a manager. He said that weekends are usually really busy for them and they can't always return calls on the weekend. I explained I did not come in on a weekend and he said they still considered Friday the weekend. I went on to explain that my family had been coming there for years for weddings, parties etc. and he cut me off. He said that any further conversation was irrelevant because he did not have my order in front of him. I explained that me sharing my experience is not irrelevant because I am a paying customer and patronize their business. Still waiting for a call back but I will no longer patronize Pierre's Bakery. Businesses must understand that people can decide where to spend their money and there's more than one bakery to patronize. I had the WORST experience at this bakery. The cake I ordered was stale, the icing was wrong, and the customer service was HORRIBLE. I picked my cake up at 10:30 for a graduation party I was hosting. The cake didn't get cut until 1pm, and that is when I discovered that the cake was stale and the frosting was brittle. When I called the bakery to report the problem the young lady on the phone said to me, "You're not going to tell me that the cake was bad, because I know it wasn't." When I asked her what they could do to fix the problem she told me to bring the uneaten portion of the cake back and they would refund me for that portion only. I could NOT believe what was said. Needless to say I will not be going back there again. I used to buy baked goods from this place all the time, and I didn't have a problem then. I want to start off saying that my family and I were long time customers of Pierres Bakery. The last few times we ordered the extra Atomic Cake it has been horrible. We usually get the one with bananas in the center and the last few times we asked for this certain cake they have not given us what we asked for. Also the cake tasted horrible it was a different taste from what we ate used to. I just recently ordered a cake for my daughters birthday the one we've been ordering for years and the young man Charlie did not put the order in when i placed it. If I wouldn't had called the bakery back to confirm for Sunday the young lady said it was never put in. So once I got the cake it didn't look like the cake I described that I wanted they just threw something together real quick and said here. Lol!! I called and asked them what was the order we put in and they told us that we didn't specify what we wanted which was a lie. I will be taking the cake back because it was horrible and unacceptable. I always buy my special occasion cakes from Pierres bakery. Their cakes are always FRESH, delicious and ready for pick up. I have been ordering there since 1995 and they are always polite, professional, and courteous. I live approx 25 miles away, but it is well worth the trip. The store is beautifully decorated, the baked items in the showcase are fresh. The store is very clean and makes you want to order more than what you came for.
