Good sir, attend thine ear, for I must needs unburden my soul on a most savory subject: a house of…read morenoodles, christen'd Sansotei Ramen.
Lo! When first I did enter yon establishment, the air itself was heavy with a perfume most intoxicating -- a mingling of broth and pork fat that did make my very nostrils leap for joy. I near fainted with hunger ere I had yet taken seat, and the hostess, a gentle maiden of swift foot, did smile upon me as though to say, "Worry not, traveler, thy belly shall not remain barren long."
Straightway, the bowl was brought forth, steaming like a cauldron in Macbeth's heath. The broth! O immortal nectar, rich and deep as Othello's jealous rage, yet tender and soothing as Juliet's whispers on the balcony. I didst lift my spoon and taste, and verily I declared aloud, "By Saint Crispin, this is no mere soup! This is an elixir most holy, fit to resuscitate Falstaff himself from drunken slumber."
And the noodles--longer than Hamlet's soliloquy, yet more supple than Cleopatra's silken cords. Each strand did glide betwixt my lips as though eager to be devour'd, singing hymns of wheat to my tongue. A man might scarce finish a bowl without thinking himself a king, crowned not with gold but with egg, sliced in twain, its yolk as golden as the sun that smote Icarus.
The pork belly? By my troth, never did swine meet so noble a destiny! It lay upon the broth like Antony upon Cleopatra, tender, tragic, and destined for swift consumption. One bite, and I confess'd, "Good pig, thou diest gloriously!"
Yet the merriment did not end there. For lo, my companion at table did slurp with such thunderous joy that even the walls did shake with laughter. The sound was not unlike a trombone beset with honey, yet in that slurp was written the highest praise a ramen could win.
Thus I pronounce judgment: Sansotei is not merely an eatery, but a temple, wherein broth is sacrament, noodles are gospel, and pork is prophecy. Go, gentle reader, and dine; for to miss such delight is to make thy life poorer than Lear's inheritance.
Five stars I giveth! Aye, five stars and a slurp most thunderous!
Would definitely recommend the Tonkatsu black ramen and the spicy Tan Tan ramen.
