I've been here a few times now and every time has been good. This time I tried their wonton ramen and it's a new favorite of mine! It definitely needs to stay on the menu. The Hawaiian bbq is standard but there are better options in the area for Hawaiian bbq. Overall they have a good variety, ramen is flavorful and lots of starters to choose from. Food is available for dine in or take out and comes out fairly quickly. Casual dining vibe and good staff.

Stopped by Ramen 101 yesterday with my daughter. Service was quick, and our food came out fast, which was appreciated. We ordered the beef ramen, unagi rice bowl, crab rangoons, and gyoza. The crab rangoons, gyoza, and unagi rice bowl were all good and enjoyable -- no complaints there. Unfortunately, the beef ramen fell short. The broth is described as a hot and sour style, but it had an off, overly sour taste that didn't feel intentional. The beef itself also tasted old and appeared gray in color, which took away from the dish. Service-wise, while food was prepared quickly, the cashier came off a bit rude and impatient, which impacted the overall experience. For the price, the experience didn't fully deliver. I would return for the rice bowl, gyoza, and rangoons, but would skip the ramen.

Nice and cozy place to get a quick bite. My family got a mix of the ramens and the BBQ plates. The BBQ plates were big and tasted great, but the ramen definitely could do with some better ingredients. The noodles didn't taste as fresh as I would like and the broth was a bit too salty. Would come back here for the BBQ though!

I had this in the past & this is our second time. Food is okay, service is quick & place is clean. You have to pay your order before you get seated, fyi.

I'm always coming here whenever I have any ramen cravings in Vallejo. This ramen spot has such flavorful broth and large portions. The chashu pork is cut thick and we had two big pieces each. The egg was a little over cooked if you like it jammy but other than that, the black garlic ramen hit the spot. We received our food within 10 minutes of ordering, and it was served hot!

We ordered black garlic ramen with no spicy, shoyu ramen with mild spicy, and kaki fry. Small place with couple tables. Plenty of parking. Order from the counter, grab your number then find a table. Food came out pretty quick and hot. Broth for both is good, hot and just the right heat for mild. Meat is semi-tender and good. However, the noodle is disappointing. Feels like it's store bought and feels starchy. Not feeling the noodle. Broth did balance it out. Black garlic is definitely good. I love garlic and this hits the spot, garlic wise. As for Kaki Fry, it's oyster deep dried. Dipping sauce is okay. If you're craving for a ramen and live near, go for it.

This is our go to lunch and dinner spot when we are in the area for going to Discovery Kingdom. They are an order at the counter and get a number for food delivered to your table kind of place which is totally fine with me. The service is great and helpful and the food comes out quickly. This place can be quite popular with all tables taken up. Our go to items are the grilled cuttlefish, tonkatsu ramen and mixed grill bbq plate. All are good portions and the food tastes good especially the cuttlefish. Don't let this place pass you by the next time you are in the area.

2nd time here! I actually really enjoy what I get any time we eat here. Tonight this is what we ordered: Hubby: chicken teriyaki Me: chicken Katsu My chicken Katsu was delish! It's a nice change from going to L&L. I love that the chicken was nice and juicy and not dry like some places. It was super crunchy which I love! I think that the Mac salad though is missing a little flavor to it? Aside from that, I can't complain! One thing that would make me give this place 4 stars is the service. It could be better, at least from one specific person. The guy that worked there with the glasses, I don't know if he's the owner or the manager. He took our order today and I said hi to him like I usually do to people before ordering and not one emotion or response from him. It was really awkward ordering. As someone who has worked at a restaurant before in my younger years, having great customer service really makes all the difference. Luckily the food was good, cause if not, I wouldn't come back here for this reason. Maybe he can lighten up a bit and be a little friendlier to his customers. It doesn't take that much effort to be nice. If he is the owner, I would expect more from him.

Tonkotsu Ramen (extra spicy)

Is it the best you ever had? Probably not. Will you say "I've had better" if you're some ramen connoisseur and probably been to Japan and had ramen there? Yeah, most likely. Is it worth the Ramen fix with the limited options you have in the city? Hell yes. Definitely a spot to hit up on a cold day or hot day, depending on how much you are craving ramen. I ordered the extra spicy tonkotsu, and I definitely would say that it is the right amount of spicy to give it that spicy ramen craving you need. Definitely worth a try if you want ramen. Definitely hitting this place back up to try the other options.

Bomb a$$ ramen!! Went for my son's birthday for the first time, and had to go back two days later because we were both craving it so bad! I got the black garlic pork ramen. Pork was perfectly tender, melted in your mouth. Noodles were soft and cooked to perfection. Eggs were creamy and so flavorful. The broth was top tier. Veggies were crisp and fresh. Spicy level was great for me, my kid couldn't hang. He got the chicken ramen with only the chicken, egg, broth and obviously ramen. He loved it. The chicken is super tender and has a great flavor to it. The broth is ideal for picky kids. Perfect amount of flavor, not spicy. He said it warmed him all the way up, and in this freezing weather that is music to a mom's ears! and I was honestly shocked he ate the eggs, but he loved them! Serving size is BIG. Kids could probably share a bowl and be content, my big back self ate the whole thing We also shared a 6 piece of lumpia. Also, crispy and delicious. Place was clean, service was fast and efficient. Employees were also very helpful when we went for our first time and had no problem customizing for my son. We both rate Ramen 101 a 10/10! Can't wait to go back!

As for the bún bò Huế, I actually asked the waiter about it beforehand and she mentioned it wasn't very traditional and that she personally didn't prefer it. Honestly, I should've trusted that. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't the best or what I was hoping for. I'll stick to their pho moving forward. I also ordered a to-go soup for my dad, and this is where things were disappointing. The packaging just isn't great -- especially compared to other pho spots nearby. The soup was spilt all inside the trunk of the car. They don't double-bag it, the container itself felt slippery and not very secure. In my opinion, pho like this can be a bit hazardous for takeout if it's not packaged well. To be fair, the spill of the box was partially my fault while juggling my phone, but the container didn't help the situation. I'm mainly sharing this as feedback on the takeout packaging. For me, this is a place I'd rather dine in than order to-go. Overall, it's not a bad spot -- the pho is solid -- but it's not quite my go-to. I'd come back, just with adjusted expectations.

Presentation is good, customer service is ok. Tip will be asked at the screen upon ordering and payment but optional. The Lion King in my opinion is pricey and the price is not worth it. It's like a California roll with too much stuff on top that is salty i mean too salty. I had this roll long time ago and it does not taste like this. I recommend the bento box. Plenty of items, delicious, cost almost the same as Lion King. The bento box is worth ordering though. No free water, we purchased our drink outside after eating. $35 for the two orders.

Volcano roll is basically a CA roll with chopped scallop on top in a spicy mayo with tobiko and scallion. The fragrance seems like it's then torched for a smoky finish. Not bad at all but today the rice was a little mushy like it hadn't been rinsed enough before cooking or just plain overcooked. Was a little odd texture. The Pink Lady was also really yummy but again rice texture was a bit off. Tempura shrimp with cucumber and avocado inside covered in shredded surimi (imitation crab) and a spicy mayo drizzle. Again not too bad. Gotta say the PORTIONS ARE HUGE imo. YMMV Overall I'd say more than acceptable, rather good apart from the rice today. Could be due to languishing in delivery boxes in transit. So I'm looking forward to returning to dine in and get a look around n see if fresh-from-the-chef rice is better. Joe-Bob says check it out

This place is located in a small multi tenant shopping center located near the entrance of Hiddenbrooke with ample parking-so that was nice. This restaurant is for sure a local restaurant that serves the Hiddenbrooke community with most of their patrons being locals from the community. That was what we found upon arrival, most of the customers did seem to be locals in for a quick lunch. I would describe this place as an Asian fusion restaurant.-the depth of their menu was surprising-like "Cheesecake Factory-esque" level depth of menu.Their sushi menu was many pages and I hadn't even planned on getting sushi but after looking at this menu,I had to try something-so went with a simple Spicy Tuna Roll ($12.95). Off the Thai menu we decided to go with the Trio Meat Fried Rice ($20.95) Virgin Drunken Noodle ($18.95) Pad See U ($16.95) and Drunken Noodle ($16.95) Well I don't consider myself an expert when it comes to Asian fusion but I've had it more than a handful of times-so I can say with confidence that the food here was pretty good- very tasty-the Virgin Drunken Noodles were Interesting due to their use of glass noodles-the beef in that dish was seasoned well.I ordered my Drunken Noodles spicy and for that they delivered, quite a spicy dish. The Pad See U had really good veggies on it-very tasty and snappy. The Spicy Tuna Roll was pretty standard-the highlight being I somehow got my mother to try sushi for the 1st time by eating a piece of this sushi roll-she didn't hate it which I think is a pretty good review from a 73 year old Native American woman trying sushi for the 1st time. In closing,if u ever find yourself out in the Vallejo or Hiddenbrooke area and you want to give a small local business a try-this place is a pretty good choice-with a menu this big, your bound to find something on there that will make you happy. So my bestie and I booked a Friday reservation about three weeks out -- and I completely understand why reservations can stretch nearly a month. The space is very small and intimate, and every seat feels intentional. One of the most notable aspects of the evening was the open kitchen presentation. We were lucky enough to sit at the counter, which essentially turned dinner into a show. Watching each dish come together -- plated with precision, purpose, and care -- was mesmerizing. Chef Michael worked with such efficiency and order. After completing each dish, he cleaned and reset his station before moving on to the next, maintaining a pristine space throughout service. There was a quiet discipline to it all. Tonight was the Tasting Menu. It's easy to assume tasting portions might leave you wanting more, but that was absolutely not the case. We left completely satisfied. From the menu that evening: * tsar nicoulai caviar, basque cheesecake * tempura beef rib * canelé de bordeaux, tuna * radicchio, chowder, greens * king salmon, leeks, fennel, sea buckthorn custard * brioche, morel mushrooms, rice cracker, mushroom powder * polenta, perigord black truffle, broccoli * pork tenderloin, braised greens, black truffle mousse * Japanese A5 wagyu beef * mandarin sorbet, oranges, sabayon * meyer lemon ice cream, candied pecans * beignet, salted caramel * cheesy crème brûlée, essex manchego cheese Each course emphasized bold, striking flavors. Some dishes leaned heavier on salt than I personally prefer, but overall there was thoughtful balance between sweet, salty, acidic, and umami elements. Standouts for me were the tsar nicoulai caviar basque, the tempura beef rib, the king salmon with sea buckthorn custard (I could easily eat 4-6 of those), the pork tenderloin and Japanese A5 wagyu with braised greens and black truffle mousse, the refreshing mandarin sorbet, and the unexpected but delightful cheesy crème brûlée. Every dish felt intentional and composed with purpose. This isn't an everyday dining spot -- and I don't think it's meant to be. It's an experience. Chef Michael brings his background from places like Auberge du Soleil and Bouchon into this intimate Vallejo space, and it shows. If you have the opportunity to dine here before the doors close, I strongly encourage you to make the reservation. It's one of those meals you'll remember -- not just for the food, but for the artistry behind it.

I do think they might want to upgrade the lighting a bit to something warmer. The small dining area is friendly though and there's good views of the kitchen as the meal is prepared. The meal was filling--always a question at some fine dining places--and the service is efficient. The wine pairings, while not any rare bottles or special vintages, worked really well and elevated the dishes. Some of the dishes were remarkable, like the polenta, a sorbet with carbonated mandarins, and the beignets. Most were quite good. Only one dish didn't quite work--the chicken in the fried chicken was oddly stringy. Super-nice owners who were happy at the end of the night to talk more once the pace of cooking eased up.
