I ordered a omelette "meat lovers" I expected the omelette to be filled with Meat. It wasn't!!! the bacon was on the top of the omelette???? And, Not much Ham. The eggs were rubbery. Not fluffy and light. The service went to hell as 14 young men walked into the room and the waitresses all went to help them. I never got my scone which I was charged extra for. We have been here many times, definitely should have done a review by now! I had the chicken enchiladas, I've never gotten it before but it sounded good! It was flour tortillas stuffed with shredded chicken covered in a white pepper jack sauce. It had rice and beans on the side. It was good and really had a feel of something you would have at moms house! I only wish that the lettuce had been on the side instead of covering the top of the enchiladas. We are breakfast/brunch people. We go out for breakfast/brunch pretty much every weekend. We've been to most of the local spots around here and Ramblin Roads is my top favorite! This new location is so nice! It's new and fresh and modern- without being overly fancy. They still brought in some of their classic decor, so it has that rustic homey feel. The service is great. They do get busy but we've never had to wait too long. The servers are all very nice and helpful. The food is great! I have eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner items before and everything was amazing. My new go-to favorite is the Philly scramble with a pancake on the side. I also like their sandwiches with tater tots. Really, I don't think you can go wrong ordering anything here. The service was good but the food that we had was subpar. My husband got the Reuben sandwich and it was soggy with grease. I got the chicken taco salad and it was mostly iceberg lettuce. The chicken was scarce, the cheese and olives were even more scarce and that was all there was on there, with an addition of a little salsa and sour cream. For a $14 salad it should be much better than that. The new building is much larger and nicer than the last location. Hopefully they are just experiencing growing pains. read more

They have specials which we love about this place and they are well prepared and delicious.. Ask for the 2 by 2 -2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 huge sausage links with hashbrowns. You are not leaving hungry. The Bikers Special and Bobs Special... yum. Pancakes are hot & fluffy. Lite Fare menu, the ham & cheese omelette is perfect for light eaters. For lunch get the Grilled Turkey Bacon Avocado Sandwich. Decided to try this place for lunch, ordered the taco salad with chicken. The chicken bits were dried out and stuck together (what little there was of it) and it came with a very small container of what could be nothing other than a jar type salsa and sour cream. The iceberg lettuce was fresh but that was the highlight. There was some shredded cheese, some nice flour tortilla chips and olives but overall it was a very sad salad for $15. Having no been to the Bountiful location we opted to try out their Layton location. Big restaurant with lots of seating and great parking. However in comparison to their Bountiful restaurant, the food seemed bland and sadly the experience just wasn't as good. Service was good as was our company for brunch. Our server was good. The restaurant is large with many dining areas, so there was no wait on a weekend during prime breakfast hours. The food was edible but had no flavor whatsoever - absolutely bland. I had a half/small omelette with hash browns and my gf had a half order of biscuits and gravy. I know people love Ramblin Roads, but there are some really outstanding breakfast places around (even in Davis County), so we won't be back. The best menu item. The stake was small given the price. It resembled roadkill. Overall the plate was not filling. I won't eat there again. The price does not equal the value. Zero stars. read more

This is my favorite place to come for comfort food, homemade with flavor. The service from cashier greeting you, to the waitresses, and the cooks making your food portions plentiful is what I appreciate. Comfortable ambience, relaxing. We've brought family members here and they raved about the food, how they enjoyed the taste of the food and the large portions. We met for brunch on Black Friday, so the restaurant was overwhelmed with diners, but the staff handled the situation with aplomb. The server, can't remember her name, darn it, exuded efficiency and confidence, so I knew we were in good hands. I was correct! All the food was phenomenal! Hands down, our favorite diner! We have been to Ramblin Roads on a couple of occasions. Each time we visit, we are greeted at the front desk with smiling and friendly faces. They make you feel so welcome. We have had the same food server during our visits and he is awesome!!!! (I need to get his name). He treats us like we are family and is always so kind and attentive. The way they have decorated makes for a warm and. Inviting feeling. (As diners should feel - lol) Their menu has a ton to choose from and everything we have had so far has been great. The star of this place is the scone. It is a bit heavier than a normal scone, so share it with a friend, or it will fill you up, and you won't be able to eat anything else. It comes with honey butter and homemade jam. We have come back twice just for this scone. The staff is also really good about doing custom orders. The service at Ramblin Roads is friendly but we waited around a long time for our food and then again to pay. The food was average at best. The Belgian waffles were made according to the the box with very little blueberry topping to justify the upcharge. The bacon was very thinly sliced. This just isn't the type of place where you'll want to stand shoulder to shoulder with strangers in a cold entryway while waiting for a table. What can I say about Ramblin Roads that hasn't already been said? Ramblin Roads is a home cooked meal away from home. It's fresh. It's delicious. It tastes how home feels. It is comforting and so refreshing in a world of takeout and fast food. We received excellent service- even when your waitress is having a hard day, she's happy to do whatever it takes to make you happy. Had breakfast here with my family , everything breakfast was great, I had the eggs Benedict with hash browns . I had them put some of the sausage gravy on the hash browns, very good. My daughter had a Harley burger and she said it was awesome with the fries. The scone was one of the best I've had. I recommend this place for breakfast and for the burger as well. My wife had the California omelet and she said it was great and she's a pretty harsh critic. We will be back here for breakfast for sure. I guess we need to try the dinner and see how that is. First time eating here since we moved to Layton in 2012. Not impressed. The menu items are your typical food items that are served in so many mom and pop places and not a lot to choose from. Nothing stood out as to bring me back to try again. For those old enough to remember, the atmosphere reminded me of a dirty Furrs Cafeteria except with alcoholic beverages. The service was extremely subpar. As I questioned to why it was taking so long to get my BLT, the response was that they had a big party which was priority and that they were short staffed which anymore is getting old to hear. And we had to seek out our waitress who was busy vacuuming. The atmosphere was cold, I almost felt like I was at a high end truck stop.
