Went for a work dinner. Trying to order food was a bit chaotic. Ordered the butter chicken and the amount of butter to chicken ratio was impressive. The seasoning came from the butter as well so it was hard to balance the seasoning, butter, and chicken. The steamed broccoli on the side was exceptionally plain and needed at least some cheese or seasoning. The rice pilaf was standard. ***Disclaimer*** Feeling witty and pretentious but who cares the review is good I was a little apprehensive at the checking this place out but after filtering through the reviews. I felt like they did not do this place justice. Majority of people who wrote snarky reviews usually have a subpar perspective in what truly deserves a bad review. I feel that whenever people do these reviews is because they need to feel superior about their opinions because they were not given enough attention back home or at work. But let's go with my opinionated .02 cents... -The French onion soup: definitely filled that void in your soul after dealing with the chaos of everyday nonsense. -French dip: what makes a good wet sandwich is the broth. Without a quality broth you might as well dump it in the toilet and call it diarrhea. What they did with the au jus was great although a little bright from the salt, it compliments the sandwich very well. I like how they reduced it to a nice silky broth rather than some nonsense from Arby's. Atmosphere: rustic vibes with historical aesthetics. Honestly don't give a crap when it comes to superficial vibes. Harvest Sunday: Sweet potato fries with cinnamon ice cream and whipped cream. Mixed together sounds like something a pregnant woman would be craving that actually works well together. Damn good food! read more

I'm kind of shocked that this restaurant has so many poor reviews. I ate here with a large group from work and we had a great experience. Our table had been reserved and waters were set for all of us. The server was great and so was the food. I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because they didn't have a system of knowing who ordered what so with each plate it was an announcement to see who it belonged to at the table but with a party of 10 if that's my only gripe I'd say they pulled it off very well. Nestled on the corner of 24th street, Union Grill is a must. Didn't realize they had changed locations from the actual train station as it has been over a decade since I've been to Union Grill, and it sure did not disappoint. We walked in during lunch time and got seated right away. Waitress was fast. We ordered the nachos appetizer, Caesar salad and beef medallions. The nachos were massive we had half leftovers. The salad was pretty big as well, I was stuffed from the nachos, I barely had enough room for the salad. The beef medallions were also big portions and delicious! Some of the tables were pretty close to other people, they could hear your conversations. The service was great! Would definitely dine again! read more

I ordered the caprese sandwich on the homemade focaccia bread and it was fantastic! The bread was soft and like a cloud perfect toasted! We got the pasta salad as a side because the waitress said it was a best seller tbh I'm not sure why it wasn't that great. Kind of bland with a mayo sauce on it. Union grill is a somewhat regular place we like to go. The decor is a fun old west style and we love their French Onion soup! It's just tried their Farmer Brown Burger with Sweet Potato fries. The burger was AMAZING!! The beef patty was really good flavor, the ham and egg really added to it with everything else! It is now one of my top 5 burgers! The Sweet Potato fries were also perfectly done. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants good American food! Prices are also very reasonable! read more

I was excited to try this place because it's one of the most iconic restaurants in Ogden, and I have to be completely honest: I was kind of disappointed. The food wasn't bad, but it also just wasn't what I expected from the hype. My dad got a Philly Cheesestake sandwich that had way more bun than meat. My wife's vegetable linguine looked and tasted like it was made with boxed pasta from the store. And my mom's bread pudding was very dense and a little dry. We were immediately seated when we walked in and the place was relatively quite but big. It's a cute industrial style restaurant and play quite jazz music. Our server was Monica and she was amazing at knowing the menu and getting our food down. I was craving bacon and pasta so I got the chicken carbonara. The bacon and chicken blended so well with the Alfredo sauce. The pea pods added a bit of crunch and overall the dish was SO SO GOOD. Both were served at room temperature. 1 Star service I asked that they cut the sandwiches in half so my niece and I could split two different sandwiches. They didn't. I asked for a knife to cut them myself. They forgot to get us one. One sandwich was supposed to come with hot sauce. It didn't. I asked if we could get a side of it. We were part of a very large party so I will give some consideration to the waitress who did her best with no other help. I ordered the soup of the day and side salad for dinner. I did get the salad but never received the soup. By the time we were asked if anything was missing most had already finished with dinner (2 hours after we sat down). My DH was nice enough to let me share his side soup that came with his sandwich. It was cold so that didn't really appease the fact I had not eaten since breakfast. I cannot recommend this eatery. Well, I wanted to like it. Another date night, another restaurant. We've heard mixed reviews on this place. We got there around 5:30. Not a lot of people. The crowd seemed a bit...older. I got the blackened salmon with mashed potatoes. The fish was dry and the potatoes had the consistency of "instant" potatoes. My wife had the chicken enchiladas. The green chili was very sour. The lettuce was wilted and watery which made the enchiladas soggy. Our server was nice and that was the best part of the meal. We probably wont be back. read more

I ordered an old fashioned (from their cocktail menu) and it was awful. way too much sugar. there is no she is an actual bartender. it was a waste of $13. I just had the best mac & cheese ever! The food was very good. We were a party of 15 and they got it all right. Everyone enjoyed their entree. I had the steak medallions medium-rare. It was perfectly cooked with mash potatoes and green beens. My friend ordered lemon chicken which was cooked to perfection (this can usually be tricky to make with citrus). Large selection of local brew as well as other beverages. Desserts were amazing! We all were so impressed that we asked to speak with the check to give her a round pf applause. I can only speak for the horrible fish and chips. The crust was twice as thick as the fish and soggy. The fish was probably frozen and then thawed and then frozen. The worst fish and chips I have ever had at Ogden. However it look like other things on the menu were a lot better. First time visiting this restaurant we wanted to try something new. It's a very beautiful establishment without a doubt when you walk in it's very nice indeed. However we didn't have a reservation but luckily we caught them on a slow day and was able to get my family of 4 and I seated right away. Service was good can not complain about our waitress she was great believe her name was McKenna. As far as the food goes the fish and chips were not cooked all the way so my daughter didn't finish 2 of the 3 she received. Wifey ordered salmon tacos she said they were average nothing to get excited over and I ordered the Rio Grande which is another name for a club sandwich. My meal tasted very bland. If it not had been for the Mayo and the salsa I poured over every bite from our margarita nachos the sandwhich was just plain something I could have definitely made better at home. Well this is why we try new places to find the good, the bad and the ok. This place was ok, however those margarita nachos now those were definitely worth a 5 star but we had more mediocre food then great food hence the 3 star review. read more

Cook must be fired! We came today for dinner since the receptionist at our hotel recommended it. Food was terrible!! We started with guacamole and chips with cheese sauce. Guacamole looked as if it had been blended. The cheese sauce tasted like everything else but cheese. And the chips looked greasy. My boyfriend ordered pork ribs with beans and potatoes. The ribs were bland and overcooked. The beans tasted like all sorts of seasoning in it! Awful! I ordered linguini with vegetables and shrimps. This tasted okay. I wish I could have given this place ZERO CERO STARS! 5 minutes after leaving the place we both felt bloated and gassy. We DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
