Visiting my friend in Utah and she raved about the Chef's Tasting here so naturally we had to go. Dinner starts at 4:30 pm and when we arrived at 5 pm the place was nearly empty - par for the course on a Tuesday I guess! The Chef's Tasting consists of several preset amuse-bouches, with your choice of main and dessert. The thing that Hearth seems to be known for is their unique combinations of ingredients, tastes and textures, all leveraging their signature olive oils (which are available for purchase). It was fun trying all of the combos, most of which were delicious! I did get the short rib for my entree and unfortunately it was dry. The roasted vegetables were aplenty and tasty so I was glad to have had a substantial meal despite not eating much of the short rib. I mentioned it to the server and she shared that they had switched vendors recently and that it was different than their typical short rib. Hoping they switch back! The meal ended with dessert, and the honey/almond/white chocolate/blueberry sorbet I selected was decadent and yummy. All in all, I enjoyed my experience. The service was fantastic and we were treated to complimentary baked goodies to take home. Brunch on Saturday is a great idea. This brunch is not a great idea. The buffet is poorly executed. Nothing was very good. Frittata can be amazing. This frittata was very thin and flavorless. The baked good were purchased at a grocery store, not a bakery. Everything was either very dry or swimming in oil. It would be nice to have house made waffles, berries, butter, and sauces. I hope they get it together. Maybe hire a caterer to show them how to create a brunch buffet. The food is normally very good. read more

My wife's salmon was AWESOME. My son in love had the Chefs Tasting option and heard nothing but ohs and ah's from him to the point my stomach was growling for my food. They made accommodations for gluten free above and beyond expectations. They baked the panissa instead of frying. She says it was divine. My daughter also had the salmon and everyone was so satisfied. I thoroughly enjoyed the Malbec and wished I'd got the larger portion. So so so recommend you there. Reservation for a 72 birthday, no mention by the server. She forgot my husband's entree which was brought out after I had mine for over 20 minutes. The bar was extremely limited to a small list of their specialties. Without any notice on the menu or verbal an automatic 20% tip add to our party of two. We tip normally for good food and attentive service more than 20, but our waitress was less than enthusiastic or attentive. Very under impressed and we travel worldwide. We won't recommend to anyone. read more

We went for Saturday brunch. Sign says 25.00 per person. Lists several menu items including mimosas on the brunch. Brunch was just so so. Many foods like egg frittata were overcooked and dry. Not a great selection and many things listed like breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos were not even on the buffet. Very limited. When the check came they put a 20% gratuity for just 2 people. The person who sat us only brought 2 drinks the entire time and essentially forgot about us. Do not recommend this unless you want a 96.00 bill for 2 people for a sub par brunch. So my wife took me here last night for my birthday. We were greeted by the hostess and ask if we had a reservation. My wife told her yes and our name. The hostess responded ok a said a birthday I see. That was the end of a good evening. We got to pick our table as the place was almost empty. We were ask if we wanted regular water or sparkling. We chose the sparkling. We were served an amuse bouche which was ok but not great. We next tried to order cocktails. I ordered my usual vodka martini and my wife tried to order a mojito. Guess what no mint. So a cosmo no cranberry juice. She settled for some apple thing but it was good. My martini yep no olives just sliced green ones served in a glass on the side. We next placed our dinner order. I ordered 1/2 dozen oysters and the trout. My wife ordered the salmon. Oysters arrived and were pretty good my wife even ate one. My wife was served her salmon and I waited. Our server returned and ask if I wanted anything else I said the trout. She gave me a dumb look and left. Seems she forgot to place the order so I waited again. Finally hot trout served on top of very cold couscous. They don't really have any deserts so we passed we got the check and were surprised to find an automatic 20% tip is always added. So the servers have no incentive to do a good job they get their 20% no matter what. Guess they need the money. So I offer the following. Terrible service, servers that don't care, average food, although the menu lists several cocktails they don't know how to make any and have no real bar, forced 20% tip guess you know where I wont go back to and I will not recommend them at all. Somehow this was our first time here. Super cool area especially if you are able to sit on the balcony overlooking 25th street. We got the truffle fries which were absolutely amazing!! 10/10 no notes. We also got the mushroom appetizer which was good but over shadowed by the fries. They also brought out bred with lemon olive oil and blueberry vinegar, which was fantastic. The Mexican mule is tasty. I went with the NY strip and the husband with with the salmon. Our service was lovely, had great recommends for cocktails and wine and was very attentive. The atmosphere is relaxing and nice. It just needs a makeover with some updating. The salmon was so good we had to ask who the chef was that cooked the dish. His name was chef Juan so we had to get a picture with him! Give this guy a huge raise, he is incredible and his skills are amazing!!! Do yourself a favor and come try this gem in Otown!!! read more

In all fairness I have been here on two previous occasions that were excellent and that I would rate 5 stars. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was not so great. I am allergic to gluten and informed the restaurant prior to me coming and also informed the staff when I arrived. They assured me they could make me a fully gluten free meal. They then proceeded to bring me multiple courses that had gluten and didn't even warn me. For example at the end they brought me an ice cream sandwich that was not gluten free and didn't mention anything about gluten. At the end of the dinner, the prices on my bill were higher than what was displayed on the menu. In conclusion, this place was excellent on past visits and you will likely enjoy your time but be careful if you have food allergies as they do not take it seriously and watch out for the prices on the bill not matching up with the menu. read more

Came here while on a work trip. It was Monday at 530 pm and the place was dead. Nice ambiance with soft music. Very relaxing but inviting. Quant little restaurant. The waitress was sweet and atrenrivedid the chefs tasting for $50. You select a main entree and dessert and they bring out other courses. 8 courses in total and it was exceptional!! A must try. I went to hearth tonight for my anniversary and had the best experience. YALL. Come for the ambiance and amazing cocktails, stay for the octopus. It's a new addition to the menu and absolutely blew me away. Our server was amazing and timed our chef tasting courses perfectly. The food was tasty starting with the complimentary amuse bouche. We ordered the beet salad and the panzanella salad and both were so tasty. For main entrees, I had the salmon which was prob about 3 ounces of fish. Hubby ordered the beef dish. Both plates were on the small side, and had we not ordered the salads, we prob would still be hungry. Everything as good until about half way through the main course when the waitress asked if we wanted dessert or another drink. She brought us our check before we were even done eating. It felt rushed and there were plenty of seats. It was a terrible ending to a nice dinner. I'm not sure why she felt it necessary to do this. BTW they automatically add 20% gratuities. As always the service was impeccable. We came to try the fall tasting menu, but they still are in their summer tasting menu I guess. I was a little disappointed because I was looking forward to the pumpkin dessert but the strawberry dessert I got was amazing anyways. I love the tasting menu here. It's so fun to try multiple things. I didn't love 2 of the items but they are not large so I didn't feel like I wasted money or anything, my husband just ate the few bites left. If you are not adventurous or willing to try new things this might not be the place for you. If you enjoy trying new dishes and exploring new flavors I highly recommend this place. read more

This was a miss for me. The service was so odd, disorganized, and so slow. We opened with an upsell for water. Then the waitress gave the same exact hard sell for the tasting menu three times. We asked for a wine recommendation and she predictably suggested the $160 bottle. lol Drinks took forever. The they couldn't find the wine we ordered and spent 30 mins trying to find a different wine? At some point they brought out an amuse buche but didn't tell us what it was. When I asked the waitress explained what an amuse buche is... No, I know, but what is the grey paste on the spoon? I was so glad we did not opt for the tasting menu (we were told it was anywhere from 5-8 courses by various people). The four people who ordered steaks were pleased with their meals but whoever does the menu design needs to rethink the veggie large plate. I considered ordering a salad and the veggie plate but decided that would be overkill. Joke was on me though. Both the beet salad and tomato salad were huge portions on a good sized bed of grain and topped with cheese. The veggie plate (more than twice the price) was about half the size. It was a few bites of red rice. Three pieces of mushroom, two large medallions of what I think was turnip or radish, and some sea beans. Not at all as advertised on the menu, in no way an entree portion, and much smaller than the other entrees. Heck, I would have been happier with just the same portion of sides offered to the steak dish. Maybe it should have been a clue when the waitress said she was sorry they didn't have more to offer me. The dessert was tasty if impractical to actually eat. Based on this experience I wouldn't return. read more

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the area. We tried the winter chefs tasting menu, with 5 courses. I'm not normally one to step out of my comfort zone with food but everything I sampled was amazing, I even thought for a moment to ask for seconds of a few of the options. For my large plate I ordered the chicken option, and it did not disappoint, flavor was on point, the portion was quite large, and the breast was so tender, flavorful, and moist. Our waiter was exceptionally attentive, despite being busy, we sampled wines and when I had chosen a favorite he acknowledged that, explained the wine in great detail and offered to pour me another glass. I love the atmosphere this restaurant brings to 25th, it's intimate, romantic and well thought out. There's nothing quite like it in the Ogden area, and I hope that everyone will give this place a chance even just once, it's totally worth it. I will most definitely be back to try the spring menu. read more

The meal was so incredibly mediocre. We ordered a wide array of items including the steak for dinner. The steak was gray and inconsistency cooked. They forgot my spouses entire entirely and brought it out much later than my steak. We pointed out how bad the steak was cooked. About 3 bites were eaten. The steak was not removed from the bill. Any foodie visiting Ogden should dine at this establishment. It has the vision to create unique offerings with their farm to table concept. Their dishes are tapas style so I would order a couple of items. The menu evolves with the seasons. For the fall menu I had their kohlrabi pickle ensemble and sunchoke mousse. It was the star as it was an inventive interplay between sweet and sour and play on texture. The sunchoke was oddly sweet and was more of a puree. I could do with something other than crackers, but it has been a while since something caught my fancy and this dish rose to the occasion even with its mishaps. Next, I had the seared duck breast with creamy fontina pasta. It was a nice autumnal dish and you can't go wrong with a chocolate balsamic mole component. The hazel nuts added a fun crunch to contrast with the velvety pasta. The duck could have used a minute less of cooking but was still juicy. The grilled octopus was nothing novel but I was in the mood for it . They kindly substituted a fennel risotto cake for me, a rift on an arancini. For dessert, I had the blueberry bread pudding. It tasted more like brunch than dessert. It was too dense and should have been layered like a parfait. It needed a sauce over it to bring it together. My server was new but very attentive. we ended up going to the restaurant because we stayed next to it in an Airbnb. I was passing by and checking out the different varieties of vinegar annd olive oil . I ended up talking to the owner AJ and he invites us over to try a couple of different wines. We ended up coming back for drinks that night because we have already had dinner. I loved it. I will definitely come back for more to try his special menu. Kitchen is clean and staff is very nice. They have a woodburning oven that I would like to see in action. A great place and not recommend going on a Saturday night. The rest of the week including Sunday is really quiet. read more

Very fancy for Ogden and I love it! I was in the area doing last minute shopping for Christmas and stopped in for a quick bite. The octopus tentacle entree caught my eye and I made a beeline straight over here at 4pm. Come to find out, lunch service goes on til 5pm and they will not serve any dinner entrees until 5pm because they have to prep. I saw other pictures on yelp where they made exceptions, but not in my case. I ordered their title 32 cocktail because it looked like their take on an old fashion. I requested the smoked whiskey for an extra $2 because it's my favorite! I didn't know it would come out as a mini presentation! Impressive and the smoky flavor was delicious! The kohlrabi salad was really good and I highly recommend this as an appetizer! The bacon and rabbit burger was just ok. I took a bite and everything seem to fall apart. I ended up just leaving the bread and just eating it open faced. I live in Salt Lake City, but I'll make the drive up again for dinner service. read more

Complete bust. In Ogden for a track meet, and yelp led us here. Way overpriced for mediocre food. My family was so upset after we left. I hate that feeling. Started with the mushrooms and fennel vegetable dish, which was basically the only good thing we had. My son got the tiny kids soup and salad, the cauliflower soup was good, but he didn't care for it, his salad was yummy, but so small, so of course he was hungry after. $10 joke. Our mains were the salmon (mine, which again, such a small portion with a hefty price), definitely not enough food, and it was heavy on the oil side. My husband got the braised beef stroganoff, with a few pieces of meat, and cheap sauce and noodles. My older daughter got the chicken and Mac and cheese, and it was also cheaply sauced and the noodles were undesirable. My husband literally said TGIF quality food at best. We were staying in a nearby Airbnb and walked in cold, never having heard of the restaurant, looking for a light dinner. Luckily we got a tremendous server, Noelia (sp?) who also gave us the option of sitting on a balcony. With lovely French music in the background, we embarked on more of a tapas approach with drinks, salads, amazing shrimp (with peach, lemon cream and more), and truffle fries. Just what the doctor ordered for 2 weary travelers. Noelia was fantastic in answering questions, giving us suggestions, providing us with amuse-bouche, and Focaccia bread with some of the places delicious assortments of in-house olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Rather than a basic meal, which was all we were looking for, the night was elevated into surprisingly delicious cuisine (hats off to the chefs), along with great service and conversation (all the best to you Noelia), a most unexpected delight in Ogden. An absolute gem in Ogden. It has a cool vibe, fantastic chef creations and great people working here. I've dined twice and each visit was outstanding. I had the burger the first time but substituted the salmon for beef. It was an amazing sandwich and very filling. On the next visit, we did the fixed price menu which had so many things I can't remember. I do remember the outstanding elk meatballs and my pork loin entree.
