They allowed me to seat myself here at the counter, after being greeted with a smile by the hostess. I sat and just listened with my back to the diners. At the counter is the beverage station, and noticing the smiles and friendliness of the staff, you can feel the kindness and genuine courtesy of the staff. Everyone of them were smiling. I asked what was good, and having ordered what was recommended, Connie smiled and said thank you for trusting her. That level of warmth is hard to find and if you allow it, consumes you and you head right out into the world and spread it. What a wonderful way to start my adventure today. We've come here a couple times now while visiting family. We really like the country feel of this place. The ambience is very Americana. Super cute!! We recently came here during our visit to Ogden. The food was really good but unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures. I only got one of my tea with a cute saying on the mug. I got eggs and bacon and then shared pancakes with my husband. The food was good and the portions are plenty and the pancakes had the perfect amount of sweetness I was looking for! The waitress was very friendly and prompt. We even chatted briefly about our events for the day and she got excited when we mentioned Bear Lake as she shared her love for it. Made us excited for our day ahead! Stopped by for brunch on our way out of Ogden. This place was pretty busy so we took that as a good sign to stay and eat here. We had to wait around 20 minutes before we could be seated, in which we were quickly attended to once sat. Our waitress was very sweet and witty, as well as attentive. It took awhile for our food to come out, and it was decent. I got a standard pancakes, eggs, and bacon. I liked how cozy this restaurant felt, even if it was loud. I stopped by with a colleague for a quick breakfast. When we walked in the staff was a little hesitant to seat us as she said they have limited staff and may not get to us. Nevertheless we sat down and waited maybe 10 minutes and then we ordered. The service was good despite the solo staff working. I ordered the Combo Breakfast with crunchy French toast and my colleague ordered the breakfast burrito. The portions were huge, I loved the hash browns, eggs. My wife and I tried out The Rusted Spoon. It happened that it was on a Sunday right at high noon. They were very busy but they said the wait would be no more than 15 minutes. You received a beeper and we waited, just like they had said we were called at about 13 minutes. My better half had a sandwich, while I chose a breakfast. I had a sausage and cheese omelette, with sausage gravy on top! I swear it was the best omelette I've ever had! Very tasty and fixed just right!! When it was all said and done we both enjoyed our meal and by the way it looked a lot of other folks were enjoying their meals too!! I am definitely going to recommend the Rusted Spoon to our family and friends and I think everyone that tries it will enjoy it too. Oh, I almost forgot that the original Rusted Spoon is located up highway 89 in Perry and from what I understand it's serving the same great food as the one on wall avenue right near 12th street in Ogden. A great small restaurant with lovely comfort food options for breakfast and lunch. Honestly, I just searched something along the lines of "country fried steak" and found this place very close by. Service was quick and all the servers were attentive. It felt like a very genuine, small town restaurant where everyone is friendly and knows each other. I got their Chicken Fried Steak with soup (Cream of Celery today - salty and tasty), onion rings, and a scone. I wasn't able to finish the food (there was a heck of a lot of it - I scarfed it down quickly), so I took some of the food to go... I'll be curious to see how it is the next day. We did have to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table of 2 at 11:30 am on a Sunday, but that wasn't too bad; we opted to wait in our car since it was pretty busy in their foyer. After we seated, we ordered coffees and water, then an order of the crunchy French toast and their simple eggs, sausage, toast, and potatoes plate. Our food took a little longer than anticipated, but it was also super busy. My crunchy French toast wasn't so crunchy when it arrived but was still super tasty. It was even better at home when I could air fry it back to life. Our sunny side eggs were a little under done, so we mixed it into the also under done potatoes to make both more manageable to eat. My partner's toast was super buttery and worked well with his sausage and my bacon. Overall, it was an okay diner restaurant. We'll try some other foods the next time we swing by. read more

Our server must have been new. Our service was slow. Other customers arrived after us and were served before us - like 20 minutes before us. We had to ask another server for coffee refill. This is a quirky place. Our food was good and satisfactory. Billing is strange; the items are priced on the menu, but when you get your bill some stuff gets lumped with others. It seems confusing. The place looks like a log cabin when you enter, and it is all cabin like on the interior too. It is a comfortable place, the help is friendly and the prices are not bad. Delicious breakfast food! We finally tried this place after driving by a million times and we loved it! We both had the skillet, which you can customize with your desired toppings. We also ordered the 1/2 biscuit & gravy. Normally we're disappointed when we order this other places, because we're judging it with southern food. But The Rusted Spoon did such a good job! Tastes just like we're in Georgia! The French toast were small, but delicious. You can pay to have them extra crispy, but we opted for normal and they were perfectly crispy. I reached out to the company directly before posting my review of their company online to see if they would make it right, shocker they didn't. I recently visited Rusted Spoon on 2/23/2025 and experienced several issues that I feel need to be addressed. First, there was a clear discrepancy between the prices listed on your menu and the amount I was charged per the receipt. What?! You're not going to have your wait staff say anything to the customers when they are looking at the menu. The listed price was $8.49 for two egg breakfast and $11.49 for 3 egg BYO Skillet, but I was charged $12.98 for two egg breakfast and $15.99 for 3 egg BYO Skillet, instead. Plus, if you look online at their menu their pricing is also different. This practice is not only misleading but also illegal under consumer protection laws, as businesses are required to honor the prices they advertise. In addition to the pricing issue, the service during my visit was extremely disappointing. We waited nearly 45 minutes for meals that were not complex (food was subpar), and during that time, our waitress never checked in on us. There was no real customer service, nor did management on-site offer any support or assistance. This lack of attention and care made the experience even more frustrating. I was told by the manager on duty since eggs are up that's the reason for the price increase which I let her know that it was not my problem, but they needed to clearly define their prices on the menu for the consumers. Then she let me know that new menus are being printed which is poor business management. I don't understand how a company can imply that it's the consumers fault for not reading their little signs not clearly posted that their increase in prices. My niece gave them a zero out of zero and I stand with her on that grading system. I'm shocked that they are still in business. I would never ever eat or support this business, EVER. read more

Food was very good, hot and tasty. My wife had the Country French Toast with peaches and cream, I had a traditional Chicken Fried Steak. Both were delicious. On the down side, coffee was weak, and at the time we were there, two large groups of 10 or more made servicing tabletops of 2 or 4 VERY slow. Wow!! Both our food and waitress were amazing! Portion sizes are HUGE and everything we ordered tasted great. We had pancakes, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, sausage and bacon plus the scone with honey butter (GET ONE!). It's a traditional old-school diner with a homey feel. We ordered a build your own skillet & biscuits and gravy, which came with sides, and we added a side Utah scone which was lovely! Didn't know quite what to expect. It was busy as all get out on a a Saturday. You can put your name on a list via phone and then they text you when they have your table ready. They do give you a time, so you're not caught unawares. We were seated and had to wait for just a bit. Every single waitress was running, and they had at least four that we could see. I got the biscuits and gravy, and the wife got the porkchops and eggs. The gravy was a good white gravy with a decent amount of pepper. The biscuits were fluffy as all get out. Eggs cooked perfectly. The ambiance is wonderful. It's a warm inviting diner with cute decor. Service was prompt and friendly. My coffee cup was never empty. Now the food! A++ It's the portion sizes you expect from a diner but better quality. The chicken breakfast burritos were flavorful. The chile verde was the bomb and the chicken was tender. I got the berry pancake combo and there was so much i had to take home some. The scone isn't a traditional scone, it's more like a giant beignet, but it is delicious! Granted we arrived at peak hour for breakfast. The wait was not too bad. Atmosphere was busy and country comfort. Loved it. Coffee was lukewarm, took a minute to give our order. Not too long for busy time. I ordered the two egg breakfast combo. Ordered extra crispy bacon, almost burnt. Scrambled eggs well. Sourdough toast and crunchy French toast. Food arrived about 15 minutes later. Eggs were cold, hash browns were under cooked. French toast looked pretty, but no flavor. Tasted like bread. Never received the sourdough toast. Had to ask for it. When I was asked how my meal was by our server I was honest. She basically told us to pay for our food and have a good rest of our day. A little sarcasm in the tone. And we do not need to come back. Regardless of the attitude we paid for our food and my friend spoke to the manager who said the server had another version of our encounter. Manager offered to pay for our meal. It wasn't what we wanted. That was not the point of being honest-to get a free meal. As we were getting ready to leave the manager came over and offered us a gift card. Asked us to give them another chance to prove that they really are good. I took the gift card. Holy cow this was the best breakfast I've had in a very long time. I got the huevos rancheros and the green chili is AMAZING. My daughter said next time she just wants a bowl of it. We also go scones, french toast, waffles with berries and whipped cream, and an omelette. Everything was so good, probably the only thing that was just okay was the hash browns. They weren't very hot and crispy, but still decent. The waffle had a lot of flavor on its own and was so good with the syrup and whipped cream. The scone was perfect, pillowy and soft. Our server was super nice and the service was great. They even were nice enough to make a last minute reservation for 11 about 45 minutes before we wanted to eat. Not bad for a little hole in the wall establishment food was decent my fiance wasn't a fan of his eggs but he really loved the biscuits and gravy so that's a plus. And you really liked his hash browns too which is weird cuz he doesn't like hash browns. I liked the service a lot, the ambiance is funky, and the food is pretty good. But I hate to say this: the coffee is like brown water. They need to use much better quality coffee grounds and put more grounds into the machine to get more flavor. I'll pay the extra charge for the better stuff, but I won't spend a dime on the current stuff. The server was so nice I didn't have to heart to send back to coffee or tell her it was swill. If they could just fix that part, I'd give the place 5 stars. But I'll also say: there is room for improvement on the food. It's good, but could be better. read more
