My meat lovers omelette isn't the bacon supposed to inside the omelette. I did order peppers and onions... I got no onions

I ordered a omelette "meat lovers" I expected the omelette to be filled with Meat. It wasn't!!! the bacon was on the top of the omelette???? And, Not much Ham. The eggs were rubbery. Not fluffy and light. The service went to hell as 14 young men walked into the room and the waitresses all went to help them. I never got my scone which I was charged extra for. They actually backed it off at the register. Only diet drinks are diet cola Seriously??? Water is so boring! I doubt we will be going back to this establishment

We have been here many times, definitely should have done a review by now! I had the chicken enchiladas, I've never gotten it before but it sounded good! It was flour tortillas stuffed with shredded chicken covered in a white pepper jack sauce. It had rice and beans on the side. It was good and really had a feel of something you would have at moms house! I only wish that the lettuce had been on the side instead of covering the top of the enchiladas. My husband had a patty melt and he said it was good. The service was friendly and fast.

Having no been to the Bountiful location we opted to try out their Layton location. Big restaurant with lots of seating and great parking. However in comparison to their Bountiful restaurant, the food seemed bland and sadly the experience just wasn't as good. Service was good as was our company for brunch. Since it was a bit of a drive for us to this location - we will likely brunch elsewhere.

First time visiting. I ordered a hot cocoa and was pleasantly impressed. It was beautiful and absolutely delicious. The scones are large, fluffy and flaky. They come with butter and a strawberry jam/syrup - soooo tasty! Hash browns and bacon are cooked to perfection! I'll post pictures.

Great home style food. Down home at feeling. Friendly servers and staff. Recommend their mushroom burger.

Nice local diner. I selected a breakfast plate that included the scone and really enjoyed it.

This was my first visit since the renaming to Linda Lou's. I had been in here a few times when it…read morewas the Why Not Bar. The decor was much improved since then. We arrived on a night when they were having a group event for Plant Night. It looked interesting and the attendees were making fun terrarium planters. The bar seats were all taken so we found a table in the back area behind the plant night group near the pool tables which were free play. We had to go to the bar to get our first round of drinks. I stood at the counter awhile without service when the senior bar tender stood nearby and wouldn't look my way. Finally, the other bar tender who was very busy acknowledged me and gave me our drinks. It appeared that the senior bar tender thought we were with the plant group activity and didn't choose to wait on us. After some time passed and we played a few rounds of pool, the senior bar tender came over to our table and filled another round for us. He seemed more friendly and approachable at this point. They looked like they also had karaoke and paint class as activities and other theme nights. My only downside comment is that we did not have any food, but we experienced a rather terrible smell of old fryer grease penetrating through the entire bar. The food appeared to be prepared behind the bar with a counter top fryer. That smell did not encourage us to eat and we were glad to get some fresh air upon leaving. I would certainly return again for the fun but hope the smell would improve upon my return.

Made us feel comfortable and was very cool to chat with. The service was great. And also, they had free pool. Couldn't beat that! This is an old location and has been a number of different bars through the years (Linda Lou's,…read moreetc.) however, it has been sold (previous owner had John Taffer and his Bar Rescue team from TV come in and do a remodel). It is just around the corner from the Do Drop Inn bar on the intersection of Hill Field Rd. where the South gate to Hill Air Force Base is located. The new owner has built upon that and re-opened it as the SouthGate Tavern. It is a small space, but feels welcoming as you come in through the door. Beer and liquor license means they have a tap with your standard and light beers as well as some bottles beers and liquor for your cocktail and shots needs. Pool table in the back and a small area that is used for Karaoke on certain nights (Jackson the Karaoke Dude is here a few times a week). On our visit, the beer was cold and the Karaoke was fun, but we didn't sing. They offer food but it was strange that the bartender had to run to a cooler room next to the bathrooms to get the Chicken Fingers and wedges that I ordered. Just grocery store chicken strips that were quickly air-fried and served. Not great. However at least they did have some food offered. Everything else was fun and cool. They do have some daily specials for drinks, etc. If you are in the area and in the mood for cold beer or shots for a good price, stop in and check out the SouthGate tavern.

Came both in the afternoon as well as at night. The bartender in the afternoon was super friendly, she was not at all bothered that we had a large group coming in and out. Great to talk to, gave us insights on Utah and the culture here while we were visiting. The bartender later in the evening however... well. We understand the bar was slammed, that is no excuse for the poor attitude and service though. She acted like everyone was a bother to her. When you're a service worker, which I have been, and are working on tips at the bar as well, you shouldn't be that dismissive. Especially when it comes to the safety of your patrons. The crowd in the evening was also weird, not at all super welcoming to outsiders. We were just in our group having drinks and conversation when an older gentleman started to cause an issue. He claimed we had moved his pool balls at his table. We were close, but not at all in the relevant area of the table. He began insulting us and trying to start an issue. We simply told him we didn't move his balls, he could check the cameras if he felt it was that serious, and we even offered multiple times to buy him a new set for the table and move on as grown men. He proceeded to brandish a firearm concealed. Interesting choice to carry at a bar, coming from another CCW holder in my residing state. He later mentioned to the bartender "I have my strap on me if they (us) follow me outside". This was directly by the bar and on camera if you doubt me. The bartender was of 0 assistance when we asked her to simply run the camera back a few minutes and prove we did not touch his table. She was EXTREMELY avoidant and dismissive about a potential hazard in her bar. Stellar service alright. At this point, we ordered the last rounds of whatever we were drinking and closed out. Did not want to tip on the experience, but out of pity for the bartender on the basis of the above issue (it's bullshit but it's still a safety issue) and how slammed she was, along with our group being larger. I've been in that position as a service worker. I hate to give this review because the experience was genuinely ok before this issue in the evening. The drinks were good, prices fair, typical dive bar affair. We aren't sure if racism had any play in this. We were the only minorities in there for the most part, and we have gotten weird stares through our time here in Layton. Nothing as concerning as this bar experience though.
