The sandwich was ridiculously small -- literally small enough to fit in the palm of my hand. Then they piled on an absurd amount of fries, like they were trying to compensate for how tiny the sandwich was. Nobody wants four potatoes' worth of fries just to make the plate look full. I really don't want to give the secret out but as far as Davis County is concerned "This is the place!" (Pun intended). Friendly staff, updated interior, large bar top, pool tables, and the outside/upstairs patio is second to none. My only gripe would be the kitchen. I would tell you how the food is but when I went to order I was told the lady had gone home and that she just leaves when she feels like it? Guess good helping hard to find? Brit-Tit is the worst bartender. If you want a terrible experience ask for her. She's rude, impersonable, entitled, and ratchy. I witnessed multiple patrons encounter her wrath. It was ugly. Her behavior was ugly but she felt justified. From a third party perspective, SHE WAS THE PROBLEM. If she is behind the bar, I won't be staying. We called in advance to make reservations. They told us no reservations required and to walk in and you'll be seated right away. Then we arrived and they told us it will be a 1 hour wait. Meanwhile multiple people including big parties were seated in front of us. What a crap show! Very poorly managed. I do feel it's because we have children in our party and not all paying adults. I'm visiting Utah from Texas and stopped by Stockmans for the first time ever. The place was ok but the next day I noticed I had fraudulent charges to my debit card. I went to the bar the next morning to ask about it and the girl working told me it was impossible for this to happen and basically was calling me a liar. Typical small town dive bar. Gets crowded on weekends with a very local crowd. Gets loud with a small dance area where local cover bands play the hits of the 80s and 90s. Cheap drinks and friendly atmosphere make Stockmans a great local watering hole. read more

Some of the bartenders are very rude and it takes them for ever to serve customers. Then they have major attitude when you finally get your drinks and food order. Taco Tuesday sucks with the two bartenders working tonight. The Tacos were great! Let me start this by saying I'm not a fan of bars, so I entered Stockman's with a bad attitude. However, I was quickly won over. Everyone was really nice and it had a great vibe. The prices for food and beer were 1990s level good. There's pool tables, darts and karaoke (at least there was karaoke on the Friday night I was there). Staff were very pleasant and helpful and bathrooms were spotless. Some of the stools could stand to be reupholstered, but isn't that the charm of a place like this? To start off, the interior looks awesome. They had a remodel apparently not to long ago. Very cool western theme. Lots of tables and chairs. 3 pool tables, darts and live music. Wednesday was wing Wednesday 12 wings $10 not bad. The reason we liked this place was for the price and quality of the food. The nachos were HUGE and awesome. The young guy cooking clearly liked his job because he killed it! Now the downside of this place. Service. Once it started to fill up a bit we hung out for about 30 mins drink less looking for someone to ask for another beer. With only 1 bartender, and that bartender being the only waitress we decided to leave and go somewhere else to finish off the night. I recently visited this bar from cali with 7 people and unfortunately had a very negative experience with one of the bartenders, Jayce. After ordering shots and pitchers of beer, Jayce rudely asked us to move from the counter, even though we weren't done ordering. Despite that gesture we moved anyway. This made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, when we got our drinks and sat down, we noticed a cherry stem on one of our drinks. Like anyone would do we went to see if we could get a refill, a simple yes or no would've been okay. But no, Jayce straight up accused us for putting it there. I've never been to a bar/ restaurant where the customer is in the wrong. We ultimately argued with her to the point of getting kicked out due to the way she was treating us. And on our way out this little guy who works there as well asked us to "shut up, we don't have the right to say anything." Very professional buddy. We were extremely disappointed by this lack of professionalism and disregard for customer service. Overall, I would not recommend this bar to anyone looking for a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The behavior of Jayce was unacceptable, and it's a shame that our experience was marred by her rudeness and lack of attention to detail. I hope that the management takes steps to address these issues and improve the overall quality of service at the bar. read more

This place really has to check who they have as employees. I had an open tab and my card was charged $47 at the end of the night. Next morning I woke up to multiple charges of $15, $7, $5.50 and other amounts rounding up to $86 in total. They were charging me for other people's drinks!!! If you go here pay cash and I hope the owner really looks into the people he or she has working here. A lot of scammers behind the bar! read more

I like to come here after work as it's near work, the freeway and my house. The first time I went was awesome, the bartender was so nice I believe his name was Wayne. The second time wasn't as great. The bartender was a woman and her name tag said she was the manager. She didn't really "tend" to us. We all ordered a drink each (only a party of 4 and we sat at the bar so she didn't have to walk to us either) and we're just planning on heading out after that. But after we had one drink we sat there for a solid 30-40 minutes being ignored because she had friends at the other end of the bar. Has some of the worst bartenders. I went in one night for a couple beers. I was sitting at the bar talking to a couple of people and out of no where, a bartender who was not working that night, started pushing me, kicking me, and yelling in my face to move. This isn't the first time she's been rude and out of line with customers. If you go, watch out for Brittany and her little blonde friend (both are bartenders). Came to this bar and instantly fell in love on the outside it doesn't look like much but then you walk in and see Jaycie autumn and Brittany, then you know this is the spot and these women will through it down for you. I am happy to say Stockmans is my favorite bar in Layton. Thanks for always serving me quickly and serving me amazing food. Great full bar and service, top tier management, great food, plenty of space inside and optional hangout space upstairs. Super-divey from the outside, surprisingly nice on the inside. My buddies and I were on the hunt for a good dive bar, you know that kind that you question how clean the glasses are. Unfortunately, Stockmans was no the place to match this description. They have a very spacious interior with three decent pool tables. The drinks are made to spec, so they are not very strong. I don't come here on the busy nights but during the weekday or Sunday nights this place is great. Good range of music and cheap beers on tap. 3.25 for a mini pitcher of beer on tap. Billie (female) is very friendly and works a lot of the evenings I frequent. I recommend this place on slow nights for sure. I don't visit on Fridays or Saturdays because I hate crowds and they look busy. read more

I was in from California visiting a friend in Roy. We got suggested this place for karaoke and stopped in. The staff could not have been friendlier. They just got the kitchen up and running and the food is amazing! The remodeled bar is beautiful and drinks are reasonably priced.
