It was fairly quiet today, clean and my husband and I were seated right away. The waiter got my drink order wrong but fixed it right away so I was happy. Josh took our order and we didn't have to wait long. This review is for the main course (not the appetizer; although it was very good) I ordered the chicken Cajun penne pasta dish. The chicken was moist and there was sliced andouille sausage. The spice level was perfect for me. Enough to be flavorful and a little heat without being overpowering. The flavor profile was nice without being overpowering as well...the onions and peppers really upped the flavor and along with the Cajun spice just made it enjoyable to eat. The pasta wasn't overcooked, perfect bite to it and the cream sauce was creamy and not broken down and there was enough of it too. My husband got the same dish but his had shrimp instead of chicken. Went on with my husband. Our regular is an Oriental Chicken Salad but we decided to try something different tonight. I ask the waitress, Kam, how the fish and chips were. She recommended them. My first bite I knew I made a mistake. They were under done and doughy. She saw I was not eating them and asked why. After I told her they were not good, she said "well at least now you know" No concern my food was inedible and it was not taken off the bill. Hit this place up on a Saturday about an hour before closing time. I ordered the 8 oz garlic skillet steak with a side of fries and a small Caesar salad. The 8 oz garlic steak (I requested medium well) was absolutely superb! You could taste the garlic down to the last bite. I was very pleased with the cooking temperature. Not too tough meat and actually took it home for the next day. Still delicious The fries were standard. Nothing spectacular, but not bad either. The small Caesar salad that I requested extra croutons and Parmesan cheese didn't have anything "extra". You could tell the lettuce was at the end of it's rope for the day. Their creamy Caesar dressing didn't taste like what I'm used to, so tossed that and took it home so I could use authentic Caesar. All in all, a decent experience, and not only will I be going back, I also do recommend to others. read more

Was in the neighborhood and decided to opt for some takeout. If you want to fill yourself up for less than $20, I highly recommend Applebee's Ultimate Trio. You choose three different appetizers off of their wide variety of menu options. I went with the Chicken Wonton Taco's, Brew Pub Pretzels, and Riblets. I received three pieces of each selection in the platter. You get to choose three different sauces along with the items. First off, the Brew Pub Pretzels are absolutely delicious! Perfect amount of the seasoning with the salt and I added on (per their suggestion) Blue Moon Beer Cheese (which is actually white cheddar) and the Honey Dijon Mustard. 10/10 so delicious...I really didn't need the dressings but they are good on the side nonetheless. Chicken Wonton Taco's came with the Sweet Asian Marinated Grilled Chicken in a side cup (same with the coleslaw). Delicious shells but they break upon first bite, so kind of hard to enjoy it all together. Sadly they forgot the cilantro but no biggie. Riblets are left bare or cooked in your choice of sauce. I opted for Honey Barbeque and they were fantastic! The Sweet Asian Chili Sauce is beyond anything that I've ever had anywhere and I highly recommend it! I definitely will be coming back just for that! Lastly I ordered a Kids Cheesy Pizza and it was awful!! Nothing but melted cheese with some tomato sauce thrown on a big bread loaf (definitely not pizza dough)! Complete waste of money other than it came with a side (I went with vanilla yogurt and strawberries which was delicious)! Kid's size soda also included and it was full of ice but the cranberry juice here is very good. Definitely will be back again (Applebee's is SOO much better than Chilli's, IMO). we wanted the 2 for 25 deal. I went online and picked out the appetizer then picked out a bacon cheeseburger and picked out the temperature I wanted my meat and then picked out a grilled chicken burger. I tried to add it to my cart but it kept wanting me to put the temperature of my meat. I gave up and we decided to just go in to Applebee's and eat. we ordered the same things but the waiter said I could not have the grilled chicken that it was not available on his Ipad. I just went ahead and got a couple of cheeseburgers. I was very frustrated and wont be going back again in the near future if ever. read more

First of all, it was Friday at lunch time. It was busy, and not many workers. But, there is absolutely no reason it should take 30 mins for one soda, two waters, one draft beer, and two kid shakes (Even though you charged me adult shake prices) to be brought to the table. I have 10 years of experience working in the restaurant industry. I was watching Micheal, the bar tender, he did not do one thing in the bar. My husband and I brought our daughter two days ago (we let her choose the restaurant) and Michael took 30 mins to pour two draft beers. He is not good at his job. Completely incompetent. Today, the kids begged to come, I was apprehensive. It couldn't happen again, could it? Big surprise, It did! It will not happen again because we will never come back! There were two managers visible. When it is busy, it is their job to help their employees succeed. They were no where to be found. Also, they did not come by the table to check on us, because they knew we were being neglected. Matt L. was our server. He let us know he was new, which is fine. He was apologetic for service and the wait. He was kind. I don't complain usually, it takes a lot to get me irritated. After spending the weekend with this beautiful weather, before we headed to the airport going back home Vegas, we decided to stop for a warm meal, our surprise was that our server didn't even stop to let us know that she would be with us in a couple mins, instead she went to a table that was seated after us, and she took their order, I told my husband what's going on? This is unacceptable, we are in the restaurant business too, we know how things are supposed to be. We talked to the assistant Manager, he was blaming on the host, what are you talking about? The host was the one who took our drink order and he got them fast, it was specifically the server. I felt discriminated, humiliated and disrespected, because we are not white? If you Are Latino don't go to this restaurant because they will treat you like you don't matter. I am very disappointed of their poor management. I wish I could give them 0 stars. There was a hair in the breading of my chicken sandwich. To their credit, they took it off the bill, but I left hungry. They didn't even offer to remake it. The fries were gross. The French onion soup was so hot it burned my tongue. I had to throw in 5 ice cubes to cool it down enough to eat. My husband's steak was grossly overcooked. We went on Veterans Day as we are Vets. There was a small wait but not bad at all. Everything was excellent. Our server Taylor O was on top of her game. She had everything we asked for out before we needed it. Our food was also excellent. My steak was exactly how I liked it and everything was hot. My husband had a burger and said it was the best he has had in a long time. The whole restaurant was ready to be slammed by us Veterans wanting that free meal and they surely did not disappoint. My family and I went and ate here and I have to acknowledge the amazing customer service from our server Lillie! It was super busy and yet she was still so attentive and caring.We were having a tough day and she totally turned our day around with her kind spirit and her awesome attitude! For a nationwide chain, the food and service is wonderful. I tend to eat here at lunch and their lunch options are varied. Food is tasty. Service is attentive and helpful. At lunch, the dining room is not too quiet or too loud. Great for lunch especially for a good burger or pasta. read more

I really like this Applebee's. The waitresses are very nice and atmosphere is good. We came just after leaving chili's because they wouldn't seat us in a booth and I am 9 months pregnant, so they tried to seat us at a Hightop table which would have been super uncomfortable. They were refusing to open an entire section of booths, on a Sunday, which didn't make sense because Sunday all the mom and pop places are closed in Utah and they should have more waitresses working on Sunday knowing they are one of the few options for families to go eat. So we left chili's and went to Applebee's, where the host did try to seat us at a hightop initially (which i wish they will tell young hostesses not to seat pregnant ladies at hightops or ask them if they prefer a booth because its simply very uncomfortable) anyway... we did ask for the booth and even though it is covid they helped us find a booth option that suited us. They had more servers working and their 2 for $22 menu is great. Plus they have the Triple Chocolate Meltdown that I was wanting. This Applebee's is better than the one in Riverdale in my opinion just because the staff is more nicer and flexible. Good food and drink options too even if you want non alcoholic items. I do wish they would expand the non alcoholic menu though but I'm sure you can order a virgin version of most of their drinks, so still overall a good menu. :-) read more

We really like Applebee's they have always been great for us. We havw ended up always close to the bar and usually don't like it because it's louder but we get in pretty easily with no wait. We have especially liked our time tonight. Our server, Kody, wasn't awesome. He gave great recommendation and even checked in with us more than I have ever seen server do and wasn't good at noticing when we needed something like a refill or condiments. The restaurant is always clean! All the employees are all kind and willing to help. We like the prices to and haven't been let down yet. We will definitely be returning! read more

The steak was black as my shoe. Apparently they don't have a high level of standard for takeout food so if you want to have a good meal maybe you should choose somewhere else or choose to go into restaurant I pay $30 for food that I can't even need I had to throw away and that was just for one person. read more

It's an Applebees, and I usually don't visit restaurants within the hour before closing, but one thing I heard is that our server Holly, was good enough to warrant a 30% tip from the teenagers sat behind us. We were greeted promptly, once seated. The first impression of a place is so important. I know it's sucks to get the last table, because I've been that server. As a current restaurant manager I'm constantly working to help my staff pay attention to the first hour and the last, as those are the weakest times to receive service. Holly was so attentive, she paid attention to our needs and truly it didn't feel like we were stepping on toes even though I know we were, and I must say that service in this industry during the last hour of service is never this good. Great job Holly, and great job to the scheduling manager for being flexible enough to give her an opportunity to be in charge of her own time. I may or may not have had her as our server before, but a great impression lasts. We'll be back. Pro tip ask for Holly. :) read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat. The staff is always so welcoming and friendly. The young man that greets you at door is so and always seems to take interest in how we are doing. After being sat we are greeted by the server who brings our drinks out really quickly. Our server Angie put our appetizers in on the little machine on the table and we had it out so fast. We ordered the shrimp Parmesan steak it was cooked perfectly and was so delicious my mom ordered the 3 cheese penn with the new breadstick. The breadstick adds so much to the pasta. My husband had the new 3 course meal it was almost like the food just kept coming out. Salad then appetizer then main course. First time at this location. Wife wanted to come here. I wasn't really excited due to other visits at another location. Was pleasantly surprised to find a very clean, great servers and great food. We had the $25 for 2. Chicken/Shrimp & Lime grill with potatoes. Came with 2 side salads which were noticeably larger than other location. Meal came to table cooked just right and still sizzling on the serving plate. Wife had the Mango Smoothie for 2.99 which was one of the best I have tasted. Was a Wednesday and not busy, but everything was done so well. Will be back to this location as they have restored my thoughts on Applebee's. Crew & Management should be proud of their efforts. I'm generally not high on the franchise cookie cutter restaurants, but I really love Applebee's new menu. I'm a bit perplexed by the recent reviews of the Layton location. Perhaps because we were there for lunch instead of dinner? Not sure. I do know that we enjoyed our visit. Our server was friendly and engaging, and helpful with recommendations. One of the other servers also stopped by Nd chatted with us twice. The service was fast, and the food was excellent! I had the Bourbon Chicken skillet. It came out piping hot. Tons of flavor, perfect char on the chicken, and the potatoes were awesome! But as good as my meal was, my wife picked the winner. But what can I say? She's good at picking winners! She went with the Crispy Brewhouse Chicken, which was outstanding, she was nervous about the gravy, so she got it in the side. Very light, tender chicken fried chicken on a bed of chunky yet creamy mashed potatoes. Fantastic! read more

This a pretty great Apppebee's location! We have been a few times and all in all have always been pleased. Food has always been as expected, service has been friendly, and location is clean. We will definitely be back, and soon! What we ordered & our thoughts: -Appetisers: --Onion Rings: they're typical and delicious! As expected. 8/10 (10/10 for price during half price apps) --Sampler Platter: GET. THE. TEXAS. BBQ. WINGS. They're delicious. The mozz sticks were fresh and ooey-gooey. The quesadilla was flavourful. The spinach & artichoke dip was perfection. 10/10 for platter. (It's not included in half price apps, though.) -Quesadilla burger with fries. This is our old faithful. It's always delicious and never disappoints. It's a unique burger and we love it. 8/10 -Macaroni & Cheese with Honey Chipotle BBQ Chicken Tenders. This was phenomenal. 1000/10. -Shark Bowl drink (frozen): 10/10 delicious. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because the Waitlist time was about half an hour longer than the stated time by the restaurant. I know that is somewhat out of their control. The main frustration was that we waited about an hour and a half for a table, only for our "table" to be seats at the bar counter. I know Applebee's have many reviews, but this review is specific to this location. Soup: French Onion Soup ($2.99). A medium-sized crouton with a little cheese on top. French Onion Soups should have the entire bowl topped with cheese. Worse, the broth was plain and didn't contain much onion. Poor choice. Entree: Thai Shrimp Salad ($10.49). About 8 grilled shrimp with wonton strips, shredded cabbage and lettuce. The Thai peanut sauce was mostly absent. Sorry, but another swing and a miss. Drinks: - Vodka Martini ($5.19). Don't let the price fool you. They charge $4.99 for 1 shot of Tito's Vodka and $0.20 to shake it and put it into a glass. I should have just ordered the shot--my expectations were higher. - Fat Tire Beer ($7.00). A large pour and a MUCH better value! Service: I sat at the Bar. A young lady greeted me, and I gave my drink order. She said she couldn't make an alcoholic drink, so I needed to wait for the other Bartender. Weird. Still, I waited another 10 minutes for the actual Bartender to take my drink--and by that time--my food order. Afterward, she was attentive, so I am giving them an additional star (up from 1 star). We didn't intend to go here this evening, but after going to a restaurant across the road, we had to leave due to some of the worst service I've had in years. Applebee's was the easy button but clearly should have been the first choice. The food was exactly what you'd expect from Applebee's, it's a chain, but they have a menu and they execute it well. There was a time I was tired of the Applebee's fare, but if you haven't been there in a while, I'd say give it a try...it seemed familiar but fresh. More importantly, the service was great! We were already sensitive to service on this night after the bad service at the Burgundy Bird nearby, but this was a 180 from that. The hostess was pleasant and made us feel welcomed. Once we sat down, our server went above and beyond to help us determine safe food for our allergy suffering child! Just really great service and I truly appreciate the efforts of the staff. Even if the food wasn't good, this would have been a decent experience, but fortunately they double dipped and provided good food and spectacular service! read more

Chris went out of his way to be helpful. My wife had looked forward to a certain menu item, only to discover it had been deleted from the menu. He spoke to the chef and was able to get him to make it again just for her. Yep, he worked for that tip. Over all, the meals were good. My only concern is that a number of the menu items tend to be some what bland in taste. Of course, that does keep the sodium levels down on the food. read more

Pros of this place: I had a really good waiter. Super nice, chill dude, was great at recommending me something good to eat, food came out quick and I enjoyed the beer. Cons if this place: Took a little bit longer to get my ID checked, tortilla chips were extremely salty, and I later on ended up putting my head phones in because the guy across the bar from me was being extremely obnoxious and yelling on his phone. Not really Applebee's fault but I wish someone had said something to him to quiet down (apology, don't mean to come off as a karen). Hopefully the next time is better, but chances are I may not come back for awhile. read more
