Came in for lunch yesterday, the ambiance was nice and quiet, the restaurant was clean and i was seated quickly and promptly. The service was a little on the slower side to take my drink order so I placed my food order at that time. Only reason for the 4 stars. The food was cooked to perfection, I had the 9oz filet with a plain sweet potato and asparagus, I requested it rare, usually most places over cook a rare request but this was perfectly made. The seasoning and flavor was great on everything and the bread was soft. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Next to Heinz 57 for size reference to show how ridiculously small these boxes are.

The food was great, the service was alright, but at the end of the meal we asked for boxes and were given these little rinky dink containers. When I asked for a bigger box, the waitress informed me that they were no longer allowed to give the full size boxes anymore. This corporate greed is ridiculous, I had to use TWO boxes to fit my ONE meal inside, so I'm not sure how this is more cost efficient or less wasteful. I was offered a bread bag to try to fit my steak in, but what?? Not gonna come back to any Darden establishment any time soon if this is how you're going to run your restaurants. Also, on our way out, we passed by three different people with full size boxes, so I'm not sure if our waitress just didn't like us? Not sure, but absolutely ridiculous nonetheless.

T-bone steak notice the pool of butter, I like a little butter on my steak, but this was excessive

So, LongHorn Steakhouse has decent reviews here and so I wanted to give it a try and compare it to the other affordable chain steakhouses around. We started with the Texas Tonion, our server said it was like the bloomin onion. It was just okay, I didn't prefer the batter and felt it was heavier battered than the bloomin onion. The dipping sauce was good. 3/5 Their complimentary wheat bread was pretty good but nothing wow. 3/5 I ordered the t-bone steak medium rare and, compliments to the chef, it was cooked to temperature with a red center. Which surprised me as the steak, 20 oz, was pretty thin, probably 1/2 inch. The flavor was good, came with a literal pool of butter on top. Which made it juicy and flavorful but probably took a few years off my life. I know many steakhouses put butter on their steaks, and I don't have a problem with this, but this was a lot of butter. I ordered the broccoli as a side and it came out cool, not hot or warm. 3/5 My wife ordered the sirloin with shrimp, the steak again was cooked perfectly to temperature. The sirloin was a little thicker and had good flavor, but nothing special, and we kinda prefer the extra herbs and spices at some of the others. 3/5 She subbed her salad for French Onion Soup which was really good. 5/5 The server we had was really good, very attentive without being obtrusive, but never asked about our steaks. 4.5/5 They do let you call ahead to be added to the wait list. This was nice as it cut a 50 wait in half.

We are visiting friends in Ogden and met up at Longhorn Steakhouse and it was my first time trying it. The appetizers were really good. We ordered their version of a blooming onion, the spicy chicken bites and spicy shrimp. My wife ordered a sirloin and she enjoyed it very much. I ordered my steak medium rare and I'm very happy with the temp it came. My one complaint was my steak was full of gristle and I wasn't ready for that much butter on my steak (I have high cholesterol and the menu said steak seasoning but didn't mention butter). The service was great, Josh, our sever was fantastic, and my cocktail really hit the spot. Maybe I should have ordered something else but overall I'm willing to try it again.

We are traveling from California to Utah for a family reunion. We don't have a Longhorns at home. It's a must for a fabulous steakhouse. We finally got to eat real food. Starting off with stuffed mushrooms & tonions. The came the Caesar salads. Hubby had renegade steak with shrimp. I had renegade steak with a baked potato. If you make it to Ogden, Utah, make sure you ask for May. She was the best server ever! We came pretty late and she was on top of getting us refills of our iced tea before they tossed it for the night. She also came around several times. I feel she deserves a raise! I really love the country music and the cowboy feel. Thank you Ogden for having a Longhorns!

One odd thing--they use table clothes but then put paper on top. This felt a bit off for the fancy atmosphere they were trying to create. We had lots of delicious food. Our meal started off with the Daily Bread & Butter and Caesar. Both paired well together. For entrees, I had the Wagyu Zabuton, which was cooked well and was paired with flavorful sides. My husband had the Lamb Chops, which were beautifully plated. All the cocktails were amazing, but my favorite was the Madam's Choice. They didn't do anything special for anniversaries, but it was fine because we were full of food and took the leftovers home. I'm excited to try this place for Sunday brunch next!

I had to wait what felt like an epoch for my delicious, chicken-y reward, and despite the size of the restaurant and relatively tame level of busy-ness, wait staff still took their sweet time and did not get bread out in a timely fashion. The ambiance is like 'millennial interior design final boss' - imagine being trapped within the pages of Magnolia Table, and everyone looks and sounds like the first Google results for 'hipster'. I wouldn't mention this if the smarminess of staff didn't compound the frustration of having to wait forever for like three pieces of bread. So, if you're in the area and have a refined palette that craves rich, delicious flavors against a backdrop of open French windows, I'd say go for it. The food definitely outcompetes the annoyance I felt. But seriously, get the chicken sandwich.

Recently we had a not so great experience at a chain steak house and this more than made up for it . Worth the drive from Slc for sure . Bobbi was our server and she is the best we've had . Kept up with fresh bread and a carafe of ice tea. She was super personable and fun . The bread to start off was very fresh , soft and with the butter- chefs kiss. 3 of us got Salads and I chose the French onion soup . The broth was delicious and even though it was packed with flavor -surprisingly light. Salads were hearty and veggie forward . 3 of us got steak plates but have to mention how huge the county fried steak was -with an option of country gravy or brown gravy . That definitely will keep you full . The steaks were juicy-cooked, to perfection. My snow crab kept me occupied for most of my meal but I rarely get the option to add crab to a meal so why not. It was absolutely fantastic with the butter . We all left with doggy bags . I also had made a reservation a week before we knew we were going to visit as from photos I was not able to tell how big it was. It actually is quite huge . There are covered wagons that seat up to 10 , a private banquet area and table tops available. The decor is fun and you can actually walk around to see more of it . Since we had a reservation we didn't have to wait but there is a bar in the front incase you wish to grab a quick drink while waiting for your table . If you're a steak lover and have an appetite, definitely add Prairie Schooner to your list . I can definitely see it being a popular spot for Mothers /Fathers day and celebrations . Perhaps even take on their 20 oz Porterhouse and pair it with one of their cast iron desserts to celebrate. Until next time , Thank you for the great dining experience.!

We currently live in Amsterdam NY and I was thinking of doing something special for my wife's 60th birthday. I thought of this place and looked it up and called to make sure they were still open. The food is very good, the schooner sampler is a great appetizer with a nice variety of food. We ended up trying the prime rib, fish and chips and the Galveston combo on our two nights there. All of the food was very good, the staff was great and the ambiance was simply amazing. We love the west and the history and romance of it and so the place was perfect on so many levels. I would highly recommend this place but if western ambiance is not your thing the atmosphere will be lost on you. It is definitely a challenge to serve 80 patrons at once. The food and service quality has to be on its game. i think that Timbermine Steakhouse did a good job. We had a banquet room to ourselves, which most restaurants do not have. We were in round tables that seated 10. Included with our dinner was a nicely flavored fruit punch, salad with Ranch dressing, dinner roll, choice of ribeye steak or halibut or teriyaki chicken, big baked potato that was delicious, and a strawberry cheesecake. All were good. We were not asked for doneness for our steaks, they all came out medium well done, but that wasn't a problem since the steaks were still tender and not dried out. For point of reference, I usually have my steak medium rare. A good steak that was sizeable, a half an inch thick that covered half of the plate. I didn't even finish mine. I think that was a good deal for $27 a person, which included the tip for the servers. The service was spot on. There were enough staff assigned to our dinner and they were on top of things. Water and punch filled and refilled, plates cleared, meal served on time and efficiently, friendly and pleasant. Our room was spacious enough for our large group. There were none of the idiosyncrasies that makes Timbermine, Timbermine. Walking in and out of the restaurant, I did notice the mine cars, the bathtub lined with Pez dispensers, things on the wall, etc. that gives it it's quirky theme atmosphere. Our event started at 4:30p and when I left at 6:30 the parking lot, which is huge, was jammed full as well as the regular restaurant space. So this place is definitely popular on Saturday nights! Good job, Timbermine, I think you are a good choice for large groups. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

I ordered the New York Steak which also includes two sides. I had to pay an additional fee to upgrade my steak to 12 oz (definitely would not have been an issue had the restaurant followed instructions! -sigh-). I explicitly requested my steak be WELL DONE with absolutely no pink meat whatsoever. And whaddya know? The 12 oz steak arrived, grilled to perfection on the outside, with nothing but pink, raw (and raw tasting) meat on the inside. Ugh. This steak had so much potential and could have easily been a five star review. It was juicy and tender, but raw. Then, I'm reading all these reviews on here stating people wanted a medium rare and how overcooked and dry their steaks were. Do the chef's all have dyslexia or something? Because what other's received is exactly how I wanted mine done (minus the dryness of course..wink, wink). Anyways, chopped it all up and re-fired on the stove with a little butter spray as pink meat makes me violently ill. It worked out in the end, but the steak definitely wasn't flavorful. However, it became edible, though I should not have to take the time because my bank account was hurting me after this purchase. A steakhouse chef cannot actually cook a WELL DONE steak or follow explicit "no pink meat" instructions? Something seriously is wrong there. Anyways, my two sides were sauteed mushrooms (just little button brown is what you receive with a small amount of unflavored sauce at the bottom). Once again, had to "doctor " those up to make them edible as well. At least those were in their own separate container with a secure lid for the drive home as I had requested that ALL sides be in their own separate containers to prevent cross contamination. My second side that I requested was the Parmesan tomato. Basically it's a full tomato cut into two halves with melted cheese and seasoning on top. The tomato was very ripe, juicy , and fresh tasting. The issue was, that when you took a bite all that cheese and seasoning fell off of it completely. Not only that, but the two tomato halves were in the same container as the steak. Yuck! And remember I requested it all be separate from each other. The tomatoes had the fat/grease steak taste and pretty much ruined the value and taste of them. There were absolutely zero condiments, utensils, or napkins given for the "to go" order which I found to be a bit cheap and bizarre considering the cost of the meal, 20% tip, etc. This restaurant DOES have potential with at least what I just recently tried. Sounds like the employees and management don't care too much though for customer service or reading comprehension. Could have been five stars. Guess they all just don't care too much over at this place.
