Had a great experience at Handle Bar while visiting Salt Lake City! I came out for Monday Night Trivia and had such a fun time. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it easy to relax and enjoy the night. One thing I really appreciated was how accessible it is no matter how you get around. It's easy to reach by bicycle, bus, or car, and having on-site parking made things super convenient. The staff were friendly, service was quick, and the whole place had a great neighborhood energy to it. I had drinks and appetizers. The Handlebar Pretzel is a must try and wings with the huli-huli sauce was delicious. Definitely a spot I'd come back to the next time I'm in town! read more

They warmly welcome dogs but do have fairly strict requirements (including rabies tags and others), so it's worth checking ahead of time. They offer tons of vegetarian options. My vegan Reuben was good, though just a bit dry. They also have Athletic Brewing Company on tap, which is something I don't often see for NA beer. My main complaint was the crowd. It was really loud and rowdy. Even outside, I could barely hear my partner across the table despite the TVs being muted and no one actively cheering. The tipping setup felt deliberately misleading and excessive, with the options reversed so the highest percentage (40%) appears first and decreases from there. read more

So excited to find a spot that had a whole vegan menu as well as the regular menu! It makes it easier to be able to go out with friends and be able to enjoy a meal myself without just having to get a salad! I came with a group of friends from work while I was in town visiting and everyone loved the items they ordered. I got the peach frost bite to drink, the vegan spinach artichoke dip, and the vegan Monterey club wrap. The drink was dangerously good as it didn't taste like alcohol or too strong! The spinach artichoke dip was bomb, so much so all the non-vegans enjoyed it just as much as I did. The wrap was spectacular as well. So tasty and flavorful!! The server took great care of the table and was friendly and helpful! The bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of seating inside and out on the patio. I have driven past this Salt Lake City gem many times and finally stopped in for a Sunday brunch. I was quite impressed. Handlebar is my new favorite patio bar in SLC. It's large, dog-friendly, has plenty of seating, TV's, fire pits, and more. The food was better than I was anticipating. The handlebar mustache pretzel?! An instant hit. Pillowy perfection. The wings were SO good and the smoked chicken wrap was equally delicious. The staff is super friendly and the restaurant is very clean. My friend and I brought our pups along and the staff scanned our ID's and our dogs vax tags before letting us in through the side gates. My husband, dogs and I came here on a Sunday afternoon for a beer. We chose this place because it's advertised as being dog friendly. When we pulled up we saw an outdoor patio with bicycles bolted to the perimeter and gay pride flags posted from the eaves. We went to the host and he led us to a padlocked gate, let us in and locked it back up. We picked our own table. There were lots of different patrons there wearing rainbow and tie dye attire with dogs. There was a good amount of shade. Our server showed up with dog water and then took our order. We were happy to get 16 oz cans of Coors Lights for $4.50 each. When we left, the host showed up to unlock the padlock and let us out. read more

The bike decor is so cute at this place! They have a beautiful patio and tons of seating inside as well which was great cause we brought our whole football team. I got a burger with salad. He proceeds to insult and misidentify me as someone else who also complained about him. I come here all the time came on a night when they had a band that was a five dollar cover, they were terrible and extremely loud, like we could not even hear ourselves speak. We also ordered a round of shots that were disgusting, the bartender came out and asked as what was wrong with them and he was extremely rude. we did ask them to replace them and they charge us double. Sunday Brunch time! Came here for a post Halloweekend brunch with the pals! The mimosa for $2 are unbeatable and get the job done! I got a handlebar pretzel and it was adorable! It was the perfect atmosphere for a fall brunch with the fire pit! The pretzel was HUGE and so flufffy! The beer cheese was delicious and the mustard was perfectly sweet! The tiger Buffalo chicken wrap was delicious and looked amazing! Just the right amount of spice and sauce! The bone in Buffalo wings were nice and crispy, perfectly coated with hot sauce. Really good brunch spot with superb service! Came in today to grab a bite with our pup, the patio had ample space and shade and was extremely dog friendly. Be aware dogs have to have their rabies tag. The server came by quickly with a water bowl for the dog and got our orders in, while the manager came by with dog biscuits immediately following which we appreciated. Food was good, potatoes were fantastic, and my over easy eggs were cooked perfectly to my liking, though I wished the carne asada wasn't lukewarm. Stopped by randomly after work on a Monday and found ourselves in a packed house for Trivia Night. We ended up sitting at the bar and ordered smoked bone-in wings at the recommendation of the gentlemen next to us. Definitely a great choice and recommendation by the gentlemen to get the sauce on the side. We also got fried cheese curds and the 3 amigos platter with guacamole, salsa roja and queso. We've been to this bar a dozen times & never had as awful service as we did the last time we went. We sat outside at table 12 & waited 45 minutes & no server came. We went inside to get a couple beers & brought them outside. Another 20 minutes went by & we flagged someone down on the patio to order food. The food staff brought it out quickly but the server didn't return to our table for another half hour & only asked if we wanted to sign out. Didn't offer more beers or anything else. I really enjoyed this place. When I walked in, I kind of got the Irish Pub vibe. It was dark, but not in a dingy way. There were people at the bar and the tables were quickly filling up. I can't speak for the food because we only had drinks. They have an excellent beer list and their cocktails seemed unique with quite a few standard. It's a lively atmosphere with seating inside and ample seating on a covered patio. It seemed to be mixed with regulars and people coming to check it out. As the night went on, they got busier and you could see the bar getting more lively on a Friday night! The service was as good as you can expect...they seemed shorthanded, but the servers were making their way around to the tables as best as they could. You can also order through the QR code on the table. I'm not sure of server preference, but it's a great option if they are shorthanded. Love this place! Its location is great for someone coming from further north. Service is occasionally a little slow, but it couldn't be friendlier! It will get a little backed up when it's busy. But they definitely make up for it. And seeing Mike at the door can make any sad feelings just go away. The food is like elevated bar food. And I love that they have vegan options. (I considered leaving a 4 star for the way I was greeted upon entry but read till the end) I rarely ever venture out to try new places but I saw a building called "Handle Bar" with bikes and a mustache and thought it was too good of a play to pass up, and I'm glad I didn't. You enter into a pub that feels like a neighborhood favorite where first timers become regulars and strangers become friends. The bikes hanging all around could give it a "hippie" vibe but not as much as the peace and calm atmosphere that replaced the usual loudness of your typical bar. Music was at the perfect level for conversation but also enjoyment if you just want to sip on your beer and listen to some mindless entertainment. Upon entry I was abruptly stopped by the bartender and asked to put my water bottle on the rack in the front, then for my I.D. It felt a little off putting at first but I do understand "no outside drinks allowed" and it's 21+ so don't take that personal. Our server, Ryan, took this from a 4 star to a 5 star review. He was super friendly and made great recommendations for a first timer. He came over often to check on us during our meal and when he was gone for not even too long, the bartender who greeted us in the beginning came over to check if we're okay. (So he WAS just doing his job lol) The food was great! Fresh ingredients and care for flavor. The nachos were crispy and flaky which I love and the smoked chicken actually tasted like it was smoked, which seems obvious but you'd be surprised at what passes for "smoked" these days! Ok first time we went to this bar. It's in the marmalade district. Honestly loved it. Some of the friendly staff I have come across. Beyond accommodating and willing to help out. We did brunch and prices were great. $20 bottle of champagne to share with friends for mimosas. Had the cheapskate breakfast which was eggs, bacon, toast and potatoes for $6! I have been looking forward to trying this place for a long time! It's quite a drive from home, but Uber got me there. I love the atmosphere. There are bicycles and cool things to look at all over the inside of the building. When I arrived there was a drinking/painting class taking place, which I wish I would've signed up for. The five dollar beer and shot made up for it. I loved the atmosphere & good vibes. My favorite part is they're outside patio. Freaking awesome! This place is dog friendly and they even have a section for your dog to use the restroom inside of a gate. The outside fireplace made it bearable in the cold winter. Plenty of games outside. Was local for the 3 day Music festival and the first day we ate at the concessions and the food was extremely bad, expensive and the lines were a 40 minute wait so on the second day we made sure to eat before entering the festival. Handlebar was a short 15 min away and just walked in and sat down. Now it was Sunday early so not a lot of people and got our drinks reasonably fast. Dinner was supposed to be the crispy chicken sandwich but instead received the Buffalo chicken wrap that was ok, the fries were great. The other meal was the Handleburger with bacon and was what you would expect, again the fries were well enjoyed. Our waitress was excellent and very knowledgeable about music venues that will help for future live music events. The place started getting busy and we high tailed to the festival. My only complaint is when paying the bill on their little machine auto defaults to 25% tip or higher and suspect there are people like me who are too lazy to clip more option button to find 20%. Now the food was ok, the service was great and it was worthy of 20%+ but I suspect some might not like the default. read more
