We ordered basic drinks- an Old Fashioned & a Dirty Martini. Both were extremely watered down. Because the simple drinks weren't good at all, I probably wouldn't go back unless I ordered to-go. Do you ever get the feeling when you walk into a place, that you should have just left? I had that feeling, ignored it, and paid the price. It was loud- SO loud, playing the World Cup. We love watching it, but it was so loud we almost couldn't talk. Took 10 minutes to get water. We asked for extras when she came back with them since we knew she wouldn't be back soon. She said sure, but never brought them. We ordered our 2 meals (one of them vegan) a Diet Coke, and a Bloody Mary. Neither the Soda nor water got refilled, and she brought the meat version of the vegan breakfast. It didn't taste right so we finally flagged down a server to ask, and she sent out server over. She offered to take the meat mistake off the bill that she made, but the bill was $30 for a $12 breakfast, a soda and a Bloody Mary. Obviously the math wasn't mathing, but we just needed to leave before we asked for a printout of our bill, and asked to talk to a manager. We are so disappointed. The Handlebar has been our "go to" where we can get reliable vegan food and eat with Omni friends. Obviously, that trust is gone now. read more

They warmly welcome dogs but do have fairly strict requirements (including rabies tags and others), so it's worth checking ahead of time. They offer tons of vegetarian options. My vegan Reuben was good, though just a bit dry. They also have Athletic Brewing Company on tap, which is something I don't often see for NA beer. My main complaint was the crowd. It was really loud and rowdy. Even outside, I could barely hear my partner across the table despite the TVs being muted and no one actively cheering. The tipping setup felt deliberately misleading and excessive, with the options reversed so the highest percentage (40%) appears first and decreases from there. read more

So excited to find a spot that had a whole vegan menu as well as the regular menu! It makes it easier to be able to go out with friends and be able to enjoy a meal myself without just having to get a salad! I came with a group of friends from work while I was in town visiting and everyone loved the items they ordered. I got the peach frost bite to drink, the vegan spinach artichoke dip, and the vegan Monterey club wrap. The drink was dangerously good as it didn't taste like alcohol or too strong! The spinach artichoke dip was bomb, so much so all the non-vegans enjoyed it just as much as I did. The wrap was spectacular as well. So tasty and flavorful!! The handlebar mustache pretzel?! An instant hit. Pillowy perfection. The wings were SO good and the smoked chicken wrap was equally delicious. The staff is super friendly and the restaurant is very clean. My friend and I brought our pups along and the staff scanned our ID's and our dogs vax tags before letting us in through the side gates. My husband, dogs and I came here on a Sunday afternoon for a beer. We chose this place because it's advertised as being dog friendly. When we pulled up we saw an outdoor patio with bicycles bolted to the perimeter and gay pride flags posted from the eaves. We went to the host and he led us to a padlocked gate, let us in and locked it back up. We picked our own table. There were lots of different patrons there wearing rainbow and tie dye attire with dogs. There was a good amount of shade. Our server showed up with dog water and then took our order. Came to SLC for Christmas vacation w our pup and was pleasantly surprised at how pet friendly the place is! Ayo Terry was our server and he was fantastic! All around a good time! He proceeds to insult and misidentify me as someone else who also complained about him. I come here all the time came on a night when they had a band that was a five dollar cover, they were terrible and extremely loud, like we could not even hear ourselves speak. Be aware dogs have to have their rabies tag. We ended up sitting at the bar and ordered smoked bone-in wings at the recommendation of the gentlemen next to us. Definitely a great choice and recommendation by the gentlemen to get the sauce on the side. We also got fried cheese curds and the 3 amigos platter with guacamole, salsa roja and queso. We've been to this bar a dozen times & never had as awful service as we did the last time we went. We sat outside at table 12 & waited 45 minutes & no server came. We went inside to get a couple beers & brought them outside. Another 20 minutes went by & we flagged someone down on the patio to order food. The food staff brought it out quickly but the server didn't return to our table for another half hour & only asked if we wanted to sign out. Didn't offer more beers or anything else. I really enjoyed this place. When I walked in, I kind of got the Irish Pub vibe. It was dark, but not in a dingy way. There were people at the bar and the tables were quickly filling up. I can't speak for the food because we only had drinks. They have an excellent beer list and their cocktails seemed unique with quite a few standard. It's a lively atmosphere with seating inside and ample seating on a covered patio. It seemed to be mixed with regulars and people coming to check it out. As the night went on, they got busier and you could see the bar getting more lively on a Friday night! The service was as good as you can expect...they seemed shorthanded, but the servers were making their way around to the tables as best as they could. You can also order through the QR code on the table. I'm not sure of server preference, but it's a great option if they are shorthanded. (I considered leaving a 4 star for the way I was greeted upon entry but read till the end) I rarely ever venture out to try new places but I saw a building called "Handle Bar" with bikes and a mustache and thought it was too good of a play to pass up, and I'm glad I didn't. You enter into a pub that feels like a neighborhood favorite where first timers become regulars and strangers become friends. The bikes hanging all around could give it a "hippie" vibe but not as much as the peace and calm atmosphere that replaced the usual loudness of your typical bar. Music was at the perfect level for conversation but also enjoyment if you just want to sip on your beer and listen to some mindless entertainment. Upon entry I was abruptly stopped by the bartender and asked to put my water bottle on the rack in the front, then for my I.D. It felt a little off putting at first but I do understand "no outside drinks allowed" and it's 21+ so don't take that personal. Our server, Ryan, took this from a 4 star to a 5 star review. He was super friendly and made great recommendations for a first timer. He came over often to check on us during our meal and when he was gone for not even too long, the bartender who greeted us in the beginning came over to check if we're okay. (So he WAS just doing his job lol) The food was great! Fresh ingredients and care for flavor. The nachos were crispy and flaky which I love and the smoked chicken actually tasted like it was smoked, which seems obvious but you'd be surprised at what passes for "smoked" these days! If outside you can bring your furry friends! (Dogs welcome just keep on a leash I believe.) The chili cheese fries are vegan and sooo good! The topping that originally came with was not gluten free so the waitress suggested doing a beyond meat burger patty as a substitute instead. It was AMAZING! I have been looking forward to trying this place for a long time! It's quite a drive from home, but Uber got me there. I love the atmosphere. There are bicycles and cool things to look at all over the inside of the building. When I arrived there was a drinking/painting class taking place, which I wish I would've signed up for. The five dollar beer and shot made up for it. I loved the atmosphere & good vibes. My favorite part is they're outside patio. Freaking awesome! This place is dog friendly and they even have a section for your dog to use the restroom inside of a gate. The outside fireplace made it bearable in the cold winter. Plenty of games outside. Excellent ambiance and food, My favorite things to eat here is their pretzels, cheese curds and wings some of the best I've had. The atmosphere is relaxed and spacious with activities and two firepits outside so there's plenty to do. Their wings were perfectly cooked and their sauces are all made in house do of course they're stellar. The house pretzel is not only a novelty but a commodity.. I've never had such a fluffy pretzel, it was like hitting into a cloud. And their fried cheese curds were phenomenal, I don't often see the option for this food fare.
