Farmers Market Hash

So so good! Best fresh biscuits and ham I ever had. My scramble was delicious savory buttery and fluffy!! I will be thinking of this meal after I leave.

A great gastropub in the Avenues! I came here for my Valentine's Day date on a Saturday night via Opentable. We were seated immediately in the bustling dining room, primarily with groups of patrons vs couples. Such a fun vibe though! Our waitress was fantastic, engaged and friendly. We enjoyed our cocktails and dinner - I needed some iron and loved the Avenues Proper Burger - the House salad is amazing! He had the beef stroganoff and boy, I was jealous I didn't get that! Definitely worth the visit, I'd come back and try the rest: small menu, but delicious!

We live really close to this restaurant, so my husband and I love to pop in for a Sunday brunch. I want to start by shouting out their mimosas because they are only $3!!!! Such a good price and fun to take a group. We pretty much always get the same thing because we both like it so much. We start with the biscuits and jam. If you aren't getting something else with biscuits, I highly recommend getting this to start. It comes with 2 biscuits, butter, and jam. I love the jam so much!!!! My husband gets the eggs Benedict and loves it. I get the sunrise burger with the egg on the side. I get the egg on the side. This is my perfect burger. Also, they are really consistent about doing a good job with it! My only complaint is that they don't have a Diet Coke fountain, but it's a brewery so I get it. They do offer cans tho, so it is still an option. The service here is good and the inside is so cute. I'm excited for warmer weather to be able to sit on the patio!!

The food here was really good and you get to pick how done your burger is along with a side of garlic aïoli. The fries are amazing you get a mix of regular and the smaller crunchy ones. The service is good but can be slow even if it's not busy. They have both tall stool tables and regular ones. The lighting is dim and they did have a light burned out so that made it harder to see the menu but not impossible. A little pricier than other places which makes it better for just the special occasions.

Build Your Own Breakfast: fruit, salad, toast and jam

Jen was our server. She was great! So attentive and had a great vibe and attitude. The food and drinks were so good, as always! We went for brunch. I am pescatarian and had trouble deciding what to get. So many good options!! The Farmers Market Hash is my go-to. Such yummy seasonal vegetables and the pesto is the best I've had. This time, I did the Build Your Own Breakfast - Fruit, side salad, toast and jam. Perfect for starting my day. $3 Bloodys/mimosas are awesome!

One of the best spots for a casual night with upscale pub food and a good beer. The people who work here are friendly and engaged. There's a great outdoor patio.

Smash burger

Jamie did such an amazing job at caring for our every need, it seemed a little busy but he did not lose his foot. On top of the service, the french dip was so life changing that I downloaded this app to leave this review, and another thing, if you're a burger connoisseur, the smash burger is divine, 10/10

Chicken and waffles with SlC pils

One of my favorite travel YouTubers recommended this in his Salt Lake City "must-do" videos. It's in a quiet section of Salt Lake City, high on a hill - like north of downtown and not far from Ensign Peak. It's a nice place and it's got the hipster vibe to it. I ordered their famous Chicken and Waffles dish and it was alright. Only because I was still hungry and the portion size wasn't that big. Luckily, the ice cream place next door cured that! But I had a couple of their beers (SLC pils) and they tasted good. Service was alright. Still, I felt like there was something missing about this place when I was there. Maybe the seats were too close to each other, I don't know.

First impressions walking in the vibe is nice, love an open concept kitchen, that way you can really see the efficiency and flow of the staff and that brings a bit of liveliness to the atmostphere. I started off with an Limey Palmer, absolutely delish, loved the crunchy sugar that they mix into the drink for optimal sweetness. As an Arnold Palmer gal this hit the spot. Bonus points for giving me to go cup so I could take the rest with me. For food I got the biscuit Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was a pretty lemony, but I really did enjoy it. In fact, I loved it's so much I came back the following weekend for the same thing, absolutely fantastic. The biscuit with all the fixings was absolutely delightful. Had me thinking about it for a week! 10 out of 10 Benedict from here.

The bacon was perfectly crispy, just how I like it. I opted for fresh fruit instead of potatoes, and I was so impressed with the beautiful, generous bowl of fresh berries that came out. They were playing such fun, hip music that it almost made you want to get up and dance! The service was exceptional, our food came out super fast, and everything was delicious. I've tried their Creme Brulee French Toast, biscuits and gravy, avocado toast, and today I tried their Perfect Omelette, but unfortunately all of them have been quite subpar. Unfortunately today was probably our worst experience. I ordered the Perfect Omelette because I saw it had avocado, but when I got it there was no avocado to be seen! Turns out they had run out but didn't tell me when I ordered, which honestly would have made me change my mind. The omelette tasted pretty bland to me, so I had to use plenty of ketchup and Cholula to help. I also usually like their brunch potatoes, but today they seemed less cooked and not as crispy. My bf enjoyed his Eggs Benedict per usual, but agreed the potatoes were worse than normal. Our server, who in the past has usually been quite attentive, was very slow and not attentive at all. He only checked on us to take our order (after we had been seated for at least 10 minutes), and then gave us our check at the end. A different person seemed to be helping him out by giving us water and serving us our food, which we appreciated, but nobody checked on us to see how we liked our meal. We saw people seated in other sections with different servers get seated after but attended to before us, which was a bit frustrating. We wondered if it was because our spot at the window bar seemed to be far from our server's other tables. We kept feeling like we'd been forgotten! Ambiance is very cute, modern, and IG-worthy. For me the food isn't great, but I'll keep working my way down the menu in an effort to find something I like since I know we'll be back for the Eggs Benedict haha. I think I'll try the pancakes next or I guess give the French toast another shot. If those don't work out, I might resort to just their orange juice (which is great because it's freshly squeezed, but unfortunately also room temperature as a result) and something a la carte. I'm giving them a 3/5 overall because service is usually better and because my bf still thinks they have the best EB in the county. But honestly I've never been somewhere where I've tried so many dishes and not liked any of them enough to order again. I also think their prices are high and keep inching up. $16 for their avocado toast is actually absurd! And I find it surprising that for a brunch place, they don't serve lattes/espresso. Hopefully your experience will be better than mine. I've attached all of the photos I've taken here, and you can almost tell how their quality has shifted. I hope they ultimately get better, not worse!

This isn't just some random crab pepper situation. It's Chef Nick Zocco's winning dish from Beat Bobby Flay. It was a messy dish and I loved it! And yes, I ordered the seafood ravioli too because one seafood dish is NEVER enough. The Peekytoe crab ravioli comes with Stonington crab, vodka sauce, crispy Calabrese and fennel pollen. Urban Hill is a polished, modern decorated restaurant in Salt Lake's Post District with an oyster bar, raw bar, and wood fired grill. It's got a serious cocktail and wine program. The vibe was a little loud for me. I felt like I had to yell a bit. For a pescatarian, this is exactly the kind of menu I like walking into. I get some variety.

We had hoped for a more intimate atmosphere for our night out, however, the restaurant is definitely more lively and louder than a quiet intimate dinner out. There must have been a notable person sitting next to us because everyone it seemed that worked in the restaurant stopped by the table and had a conversation with this couple, and when the chef came out and walked right by us to have a conversation with the table next to us, that's when it dawned on me as a chef doesn't normally come out just to talk to a normal person like us. It was a little bit irritating with all the hoopla at the table next to us which put a little bit of damper on our anniversary meal. Especially when our waiter devoted significant time to the "special" table leaving us feeling a bit neglected in a top-tier restaurant like Urban Hill. However, the meal itself was delicious.

Never again! This place lost our business for good!…read more We arrived at 12:45 and were told a 45 min to 1 hour wait. We were fine with it, so we waited. From our seats by the counter, we watched party after party who came in after us get seated first. When my brother asked why, we were told others were "ahead of us" except there was no one else waiting, and tables were sitting empty. Meanwhile we watched a single guest that had just walked in get sat at a table for four, while we'd been waiting over an hour. Whatever the reason for who got prioritized, it wasn't wait time. We only got seated when someone offered us an outside table just to get us out of the lobby. Then it got worse! The menus were dropped on the table with zero interaction, an item missing from our order, and some of it wrong. They served us coffee in a regular tall glass. Like the ones typically used for water which made the coffee get cold before we finished our meal. Honestly, this was the worst experience I've had at a restaurant! Bad service, preferential treatment to some people. I will not recommend it. We won't be back.
