I've been wanting to try Raising Cane's for the longest time! It's talked about so much on social media by those on the west coast so I was hype when the Towson location opened. Finally made my way there this past Saturday shortly after opening. Now, those familiar with Towson know there's no parking ... this location is in a hot spot so I was happy to see the Towson Row parking garage for customers to park. Quick Tip ... park in the garage and get a validation ticket from the counter after you order! Okay, so after parking, I followed the signs and made my way to the restaurant. I ordered the 3 piece tender combo which came with crinkle cut fries, toast, and one Cane's sauce. I was extremely excited to try the Cane's sauce because it's talked about soooo much. I decided to dine in since I parked. Now, I love a good tender and fries meal but I have to be honest, there was nothing special about this food. I was shocked. Everything was fresh thankfully. But the tenders were regular. The batter on them was kind of soft. I like a more firm tender. The fries were regular crinkle cut fries. The sauce was peppery ... a slight vinegary flavor on the back end. The toast was a nice touch. All in all, it's not a place I'm rushing to get back to. Overall, the service and the food were excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful, courteous, and kind. The food was hot and fresh. We only waited a few minutes for our food which I thought was good, considering that people were waiting ahead of us. The chicken tenders and fries were slightly bland tasting but with the Cane sauce, they came alive!! The garlic bread was definitely a winner. The cole slaw was just ok.... Next time I will get an extra piece of garlic bread instead. The sweet tea needed a lot more sugar to make it sweet tea. The restaurant was very clean though. Overall our visit was very positive. Being from Louisiana I was so hyped a Raising Cane's was coming to the Bmore area. I heard about the insane lines when they initially opened so decided to wait a few weeks before attempting a visit. Working on a rainy Saturday, I thought it was a good day to give them a try. They are located on the corner of York Rd in Towson Row. There were cars lined up on York Rd in front of the store when my co worker and I arrived at 11:30. Whole Foods has a sign out that they will not validate customers from Raising Canes. Luckily we found a spot on York Rd. We were told that the The York Garage will validate parking for up to 90 minutes for Cane's customers. We tried to order online before we arrived but they were not taking online orders. The location is really nice with bright light and an ample seating inside as well as a nice patio for outdoor seating when the weather is nice. It was busy but not too crazy inside and the cashiers were pleasant and handled the flow well. My co worker and I decided to split a Caniac box which was 6 chicken fingers, crinkly cut fries, 2 Cane sauces, Texas toast, coleslaw and a large drink. The chicken was hot and crispy but very bland. The fries were also disappointing as they were ice cold. Even dipping in the oh so great Cane sauce couldn't help the blandness of the chicken or the coldness of the fries. The coleslaw was just ok. Texas toast of course is hard to mess up so it was buttery hot and toasty. The best part of the meal was the drink! I've always loved Cane's lemonade and tea. They are true Southern style, both freshly made in the store with the addictive nugget ice! I don't know if now as an adult my palate has matured since I was so disappointed in the food and loved eating here as a child. This may have been my fault for putting such high expectations on Towson's newest chicken joint, but could you blame a girl for getting her hopes up after seeing a line wrapped around the building for a week straight ??? Chicken tenders: 5/10: very juicy and tender but almost no distinguishable flavor. Quite literally just fried. chicken.- couldn't taste any seasoning. Fries: 4/10- no real flavor, pretty sure I could've gotten better fries from the frozen section @ target Half and half: 4/10 Cane's sauce: 3/10 - not a fan Toast: 7:10- best thing on my plate I was expecting the service to be terrible and the food to be bomb, but my experience was exactly the opposite. Chicken tenders and fries are average at best. The menu is only comprised of chicken tenders, fries, toast, and coleslaw, so there's not a lot of variety available. Cane's sauce is very simple, and they do not give you enough per meal when it's the only well-seasoned item compared to the tenders and fries. The inside of the Towson location is fun and well designed other than the line near the entrance quickly running out of the door. The line did move fast during lunch and the staff was friendly. We noticed when leaving that you can mobile order and pick up at a window outside the restaurant as well. The ambiance is of a modern, clean, attractive dining spot with clean, large booths and tables. The staff was friendly and happy to answer my questions. The service was fast, despite the large crowd on a Saturday afternoon. The "Cane sauce" did not impress the kids very much. Lines are always out the door and wrapped around a corner and the service is super slow! " won't note his name because I'll be visiting again soon around the same time." -im a night nurse so we work the same schedule. I approach takeout window I rang the little bell on the window since I wasn't greeted. There's was No "welcome from the guy no "how are ya" just nothing. Before I let him entirely turn me away from my family's favorite business from out of town I start off with hello my name is... I have an online order. This guy had no type of experience handling food or customers I guess this is his first fast food job. He started with "what is the order number." Well "I don't know my order number off hand sir the name for my order is S**** *. He says "I heard you the first time." He couldn't locate my 2nd order which was very concerning! not to mention his attitude and lack of hospitality standards He was blaming me for him not being organized with his orders. My order was found in the front of the house which was inside the building he didn't explain to me anything that happened with my meal or where it was. Although it was busy, service was nice and the food was ready after a short wait but faster than I expected. Since it was crowded inside, and the weather was beautiful, we dined outside. There was a steady stream of people who appeared to be from the university nearby, which gives this location a lively vibe. I ordered the 3 Finger Combo: 3 chicken tenders, crinkle-cut fries, one Cane's sauce, one Texas toast, and a 22-ounce fountain drink. There are no options for levels of spiciness. The food was everything I've heard about it, juicy chicken tenders, buttery Texas toast, nice sauce, and good fries, BUT, that's all it was. With competition like Hangry Joe's, Wooboi, Flip the Bird, and Roaming Rooster to name a few, Raising Cane's failed to impress. It stacks up better when compared to Chic-fil-A, Popeyes, and KFC. The food is something a child could easily eat because it was quite bland and lacked even a tiny hint of spicy flavor. It also didn't taste overly salty, which I appreciated. It's like a hospital version of a fast food chicken restaurant, which is okay, and based on the hype, is what people like. I put an online order in and parked outside against the curb. The food was really good and so was the sauce. They give you a lot for $12. I didn't really like how they said pick up the food at 11:58 and it wasn't ready until 12:08. They should have added more time if it was going to be an extra 10 minutes. Also the parking is horrible. There are no spots and when I drove by at night and people parked along the curb they got all tickets. I was lucky cause I came during the day. So if you want to do an online order you have to park kinda far away just to pick up your food. Don't come during the day or you are paying for parking just to pick up chicken. It's the worst possible location for this restaurant especially being the only one in md. Its gonna be a mess with people parking illegally against the curb and blocking traffic. The chicken is plain and only good with the sauce which is just Worcestershire, mayo, pepper, and paprika. The fries were mid. The only good part was the texas toast. Not bad, and quite a lot of food in the "main" combo offering -- I think I ate too much -- but I'm not sure it's good enough to return regularly. I did an online order for carryout, it was ready promptly and I didn't have to wait in line, which was great. Chicken texture was great, stayed crispy while it traveled, but could use more seasoning. Fries were probably the weakest part, crinkle-cut is not my favorite and they didn't have much flavor. Toast was fine but not remarkable. My only service interaction was with the lady who handed me my order, but she was friendly. Anyone who knows the area knows parking is a pain. My wife dropped me curbside to go pick it up. It's way, way too much of a hassle to do this solo. (I'm not a Towson student, I imagine it's pretty convenient if you're on foot on campus.) Great Chicken. It's tender and juicy and is at the top of fast food chicken places. However, it gets very busy. If you're going there during busy hours, the drive thru and inside the restaurant get extremely busy. To reduce these times, I use the app and it cuts my food time in half. Another thing that is great is the inside and decorations of the restaurant. U love all of the big branding, the high top tables, and the disco balls. Raisin canes is a great overall experience. Pretty darn good! And you have to be good to only offer chicken tenders. I do not like chicken fingers - they're either frozen, burnt, overcooked, dry, or all of the above. But man, Cane's does it right! The tenders are fresh, perfectly fried, and totally moist. But what really makes Cane's a winner for me are the fries - they are perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned.
