Usually when it's my first time at a burger joint, I stick to the basics- regular cheeseburger with bacon and all the fixings. My sister was the more adventurous one and decided upon the Teriyaki Char Burger (burger patty with cheese, grilled pineapple and teriyaki sauce). On the menu board, the Char burger combo is 11.99. It comes with fries and a drink. I asked the cashier could I substitute the fries for onion rings and he said yes, but I should been more specific about whether there was an up charge. It apparently was. The added couple of slices of bacon and the onion ring swap took my meal from being 11.99 to 17.81 with tip (YOWZERS)! The burger was indeed tasty and of a decent size (not tiny, but not super duper satisfying either). The toppings were fresh and the fries and onion rings were pretty good. My sister enjoyed her Teriyaki Char Burger, although she admitted that the teriyaki flavors for her burger were very subtle. No wow factor, with this one. For the price alone, I unfortunately wouldn't make Habit Burger...a habit. I saw the prices from three years ago and to be honest, THOSE prices made more sense. We LOVE cheeseburgers. We might live for cheeseburgers. Cheeseburgers make me happy. Cheeseburgers are a comfort food. I'm like the female Hamburgerlar. Jeremy is like Wimpy, Popeye's friend... Wanna be our friend? Make/buy us a cheeseburger. Wanna kidnap us? Paint "Free cheeseburgers" on the side of a panel van. So we finally tried The Habit. Towson is so crazy these days that I had been putting off trying The Habit because I wasn't sure that the parking situation would be worth it. I don't wanna have to pay for parking. This keeps me away from a lot of places in Towson. Jeremy and I lived in Towson about ten years ago, and the hatred for the meter-readers of that town, by everyone who lives and works there, is real. I was hugely, pleasantly surprised that The Habit has its own (well, it's a small strip mall) parking lot, and we were able to park right outside the restaurant for free - we had just come from Whole Foods where you have to get your parking validated, so it certainly did surprise me that I could park for free. The ordering kiosk is right by the door. We walked passed it, though discovered it before anyone had to point the way. I would not have been able to use it, if Jeremy wasn't there. It's too high for a person in a wheelchair to use, and my fingers aren't average, so I have a difficult time with touchscreens. 99.99% of customers will not have this issue, I know, but I feel that it's worth pointing out that these new kiosks and touchscreens make life more complicated for shorter/wheelchair-using customers. Yes, my anti-social, anxiety-ridden personality does appreciate being able to order food without having to talk to strangers, but if Jeremy hadn't been there I WOULD have had to order at the counter. Our table was sticky. There weren't a lot of choices for accessible seating. High top tables are awful and I wish they would all disappear. I'm not five-years-old. I don't get a thrill out of sitting places where my feet don't touch the floor, and I really don't know any adults who do. I had the Santa Barbara Char (Two freshly chargrilled beef patties, avocado, caramelized onions, American cheese, crisp lettuce, tomato, pickles and mayo on grilled sourdough). It was very good. The avocado was perfectly ripe; creamy like butter and flavorful. The caramelized onions bring a nice bit of sweetness to the sandwich. I think my least favorite part of the burger was, well the burger. I know it's supposed to be char-broiled, but it still didn't have much flavor. I did appreciate that the meat was still slightly pink and not cooked to death, but the patties need some kind of additional seasoning. Maybe something as simple as salt. The same is true for the fries. They're a good texture, but need seasoning. Jeremy had the Double Char with Cheese (Two freshly chargrilled beef patties, caramelized onions, fresh tomato, pickles, mayo, and cheese on a toasted bun). We liked that there are jalapenos and pepperoncini peppers, available near the drink dispensers, to spruce up your sandwich. He also had "their sorry excuse for chicken nuggets." They're listed under sides, which I took as a bad sign. They're small, and Jeremy came back to the table with barbecue sauce to dip them in. That is not what he usually gets. He usually gets some sort of mustard as his dipping sauce. I cannot find anything about the choices online, so I have no idea what sauces ARE available. It was a fun, new adventure. First and last time we will come here. We were curious about The Habit Burger Grill and stopped in for a burger. First surprise is that they do not have a paper menu. You can order on a kiosk or at a counter with the selections on an overhead sign. We had to sit down and look at the website to find out what was on each burger. Second disappointment was to find out that this is more like McDonalds as they serve frozen hamburger patties only cooked to medium well or well. Third, when my husband told them his order, they managed to put my burger choice on his meal deal. As a result, we overpaid. We noted that while we were there at dinner time, they had only two other customers in the shop. The French fries were crisp. We have had better burgers at McDonalds and Burger King for less money. I have been attempting to stop through Habit Burger, and finally after a fishing trip. It was time to 4get a plant-based burger. I thought it would be beyond burger (no soy) like a nearby competitor, howeve,(they are serving the soy-based IMPOSSIBLE Burger (not my 1st choice). But I'll go with the flow. They do a kiosk-type style of ordering which eliminates people contact, personal connection, and engagement. In a time with remote work, self-checkout stations, it's nice to talk to someone to give your order in its complexity or simpleness. I had to resolve my order 4x on the kiosk and the substitutes I wanted were overlooked by the kitchen (which came with tomatoes and mayo) allergic to tomatoes. The food was an impossible burger, onion rings, tempura battered string beans, and strawberry limeade. The burger was sloppy due to mayo I didn't want, tired from water, didn't feel like the time to remake. So just pulled the tomatoe off and wiped the mayo off. The burger was average, with some spice profile or seasoning. The onion rings weren't freshly made but a decent frozen brand with tan h dressing (a better than average). This is a real casual place. They had some booths and high top seating. We were able to order and get our food fairly quickly. The customer service was really good. It was self service but they still kept the place clean and asked us if we anted a refill on our drinks or needed any condiments brought to us. I ordered the patty melt with extra stuff added to it and Parmesan fries. The fries weee just average. The bread in patty melt was really good and the burger was decent. So, when a team member came to the counter asking "What do you want?" I took it as hostility as we didn't use the lousy kiosk. To add insult to injury, as the guy was punching in the order at the terminal, he was using the middle finger as in giving my son and I a big Fonghu. Attitude, attitude. Habit doesn't need associates who don't appreciate customers. We only chose Habit because Mission BBQ was closed for an employee appreciation party. We like Habit because of the value. More bang for the buck than those five other guys and the burgher shack. I'm convinced. We each ordered a double char, one with cheese. My son ordered the fried green beans as an extra. To Mr Attitude's credit, he didn't charge us $2.99 for the soda cup my kid wanted for water. It's a plus. Paying cash, I did manage to leave a little something in the tip cup. The burgers are incredible. Just saying. The double chars are about $7.39. $8.29 with cheese. The Five other Guys are well above that price point for a burger not even charred. And the lightly coated green beans were a nice treat. I really hope I misread the guy who took our order, but, his resistance to accommodate the customer was pretty obvious. I was desperate for a good juicy takeout burger. . After an hour of waiting on Grubhub my food was finally delivered. Sure the char burger and fries were cold but it sure was tasty. I am a big burger guy so when there is a new spot that sells burgers and specialize in burgers, I'm all in. I was excited to hear about this place and like always I checked the menu out before taking my drive over to this new establishment. Food looked good and I knew exactly what I wanted to get before going. They follow COVID restrictions, provide hand sanitizer, customers nicely spaced out and they even have a kiosk but can only be used for takeout orders. I ordered the regular char burger with cheese and the ahi tuna filet combo. Fries were nicely cooked and crispy just like I love and seasoned perfectly. Not too salty. The tuna filet was pretty good and had a nice grill taste to it. Now onto the burger. I said I was a burger guy so I'm going to be real critical when it comes to these types of sandwiches. For me personally, I like my burger well done. I don't want to see no pink in my burger. I will still eat it if it's a little pink but I rather have no pink at all. They could have let the burgers cook a little longer. I had seen other reviewers say the same thing but of course I make my own opinions. Trying this chain for the first time! Honestly, this was a pretty good value sandwich for the portion and how it tastes. Slice of chicken was on the thinner side but the sandwich was packed with vegetables (also comes with bacon and avocado). I wish I could taken a photo but I was honestly too hungry to wait. I ordered the portabella char burger and I had it wrapped in lettuce instead of the bun. It was the most delicious combination I've had in a while. This is definitely going to be a go-to on my DoorDash. I do have to warn you that because there is no bun there's nothing to absorb the sauce so you might want to eat this one alone. There's no way to eat it gracefully when it's wrapped in lettuce. You do definitely want to try it though. I had it with a side of the little yellow peppers that you can get to go. It was my second time visiting this place because I get my nails done next door and I absolutely I'm so happy that I made this choice. They don't just wrap it in a single leaf of lett6 on each side. They wrap it in multiple layers of lettuce so it's very easy to hold. Opening day for the new Habit Burger location in Towson. The inside looks very clean and staff are all wearing masks and gloves. Proper spacing for COVID is used as well; with cleaned/sanitized signs placed on each table. Once someone is seated, the sign is removed. I ordered the Charburger (no cheese) with everything on it; which ends up being lettuce, tomato,onions, pickles, and Mayo. Came inside a fresh toasted bun and was decent size for the price. The burger was a bit over salted to me it seemed like. Flavoring was good and the combination worked well, even without cheese. They do have a lettuce "bun" option if you'd like to go sans traditional bun. You receive a pager with your order if you dine-in (or outside where there is fenced in dining). Once your pager vibrates, you'd place it in a pile and receive your food. The staff is friendly and offered to clear my plate after I was finished eating. Lots of parking is available in the lot since it is a shopping center containing other retail. Overall, I will come back to try more variations of the burger and some side items as well. read more

A good, healthier alternative to a greasy burger. The Habit Burger Grill has plenty of competition in Towson with Burger Bros, 5 Guys, and Shake Shack. What stands them apart is their diverse menu of atypical burgers and the offering of healthier alternatives. For healthier alternatives, most Habit Burgers do not come with fries, and you can swap your beef for a vegetarian burger, swap the buns for a lettuce wrap, and the grill that cooks the burgers are angled to allow excess grease to spill instead of pooling inside the burgers. You can even swap your fries for fried green beans. While I wouldn't call these burgers "healthy" they are most certainly "healthier" than what you'll find at other burger establishments. But for me, burgers are not meant to be healthy. They are a treat-your-self kind of a meal, and when I want a burger, I go all in on the meat, cheese, buns, and grease. While the Habit's smash style burgers offers excellent taste and texture, it just can't compare to the unhealthier, fat filled versions you'll find at more traditional burger joints. The Habit has a few other interesting toppings such as teriyaki and portabella mushrooms in addition to some cool seasonal. If you need a big juicy burger, Habit will leave you wanting more, but if you're just looking for the feeling of eating a burger without as many calories, Habit could scratch your itch. read more

For roughly the same price as a local fast food place, it is a step up from BK, McD or Wendy. I haven't tried the shakes, I will let you know. So to the managers, The area was cleaned. So so happy we found this place and it's super close to home. I've had my eye on this spot for a while and finally we had time enough to enjoy. Upon entering, we were greeted by Carmella who was a delight and why we've now been to the restaurant twice! She was so helpful and handled our orders as first timers with a smile. Fiancé and I both tried the tenderloin steak sandwiches w/ the teriyaki sauce and fries. Let me tell you, the best steak sandwich we've had in such a long time. FYI, meat is cooked to a medium temperature. I believe that's rule of thumb which I didn't mind. Now back to the sandwiches, they're loaded with 3 nice sliced pieces of steak, your choice of sauce (teriyaki or bbq), and the traditional toppings (lettuce tomato onions etc.) we loaded with all toppings and washed the sandwiches down with the yummy limeades! After having such a great experience, we returned so that I could try the summer chargrilled peach salad. But now there's a slew of them all in the immediate vicinity, with Habit being the most recent to open. I saw it online and I was like I need to check this place out. So of course the burgers looked NOTHING like that but they were tasty. For three of us, I ordered a family bundle using the kiosk.
