I'm from the bay and HAVE to stop here any time i touch down in riverside Love the overall vibe of this place! I think I've only tried the pumpkin cold brew coffee with oatmilk & vegan whip. It's so good! They have tons of vegan options and holiday season drinks. If you know me and read my reviews I love local. I would rather give my money to somewhere and someone living in the community and not a huge corporation just trying to get richer. Local cares about community and I just find the vibe at most to be much cooler. That being said I have found myself in Riverside this week and spent countless hours walking the city yesterday alone. I'm a SoCal native but moved to the Phoenix area a lifetime ago. I still have family nearby so it also means I could visit a bit. I knew Rad Coffee was close to my hotel and it's honestly one of the first places I knew I'd an entire to. Reading other reviews and such I knew I'd love it. I decided to walk over in the morning and grab something to drink. Some people need food I search for cold brew. I was pleased to see it situated in a shared parking lot with a few other businesses with a private lot. While I did have my car at the hotel and could've drove it's honestly easier to walk downtown anywhere if possible to not only see more of the city, but to not worry about one way streets, paid parking etc. that's my opinion anyway. The location is pretty unassuming from outside besides their sign telling you they're there. Even if I'd not known they were here if id of driven by the name alone would've had me turning it. Who doesn't want Rad Coffee. When I walked through the door I knew it was definitely where I wanted to be. I was greeted instantly and once I told them I needed a few minutes they gave me a sec to go over the menu. I diverted from the menu because I saw merch and had to check it out. I collect pins for the roof of my car and when I find one that I know will give me a great memory I pick one up. I found many, but settled on one. They also had tons of tees, mugs, hydro, stickers and more. They have beans for purchase as well. I'd of loved to but more, but since I was walking I didn't have enough hands to carry too much. Good news for me and you is you can order all these things online! They have a website. There are multiple Locations in SoCal. So if this one isn't near you there might be another. After I picked my pin and some stickers I talked with the barista a few more minutes and decided on a cold brew with a bit of hwc and sf vanilla. I'd of orders another drink of some sort to try as well ( Yeah both for me), but unfortunately there is no seating inside the shop or out. I'd of loved to chill for a bit, but it also gave me more time to wander the area and enjoy my drink. My drink was made so fast. I was thanked for coming in and that first sip was heaven. It was a smooth brew with no aftertaste, no acidic after effect and the perfect amount of cream and vanilla. It is such a basic drink, but man if I could tell you how many times I've been somewhere that screw it up and ruin it. I noticed they offer a small amount of treats like pop tarts and stuff packaged to go, but didn't try any of that. The walls were decorated in what I describe as old school 90s music flyers. Thrones is get as a teen and head out to watch a garage band. Damn I miss those days..this one time Face to Face....ill save that sort for a later day. Being a 90s teen was awesome. you know what it's kinda sad when management doesn't come out and speak to the customer about questions that the employees have no idea about. I bought some beans the other day I spoke to the two employees which were very nice a guy and a girl. I asked when the beans were roasted (yes older beans make a difference vs fresh roasted) because they don't have roast dates, guy goes in the back and the manager lies to the employee to lie to me and tells me they were roasted the week prior get home open the bag by the smell they were not fresh fyi grinded a cup of espresso actually a few shots to make sure my brew ratio wasnt off and every shot was trash. do better rad coffee at having more professional management... read more

i felt a little intimidated by their menu as a first timer this morning but the barista at the register was super nice and helpful. she answered our questions, no problem. i can't remember her name sorry miss! I had the spanish latte and at first its super creamy almost too much but after a few minutes of stirring and the ice diluting... MOUTH WATERING it has a strong coffee taste (prob due to the 3 shots of espresso lol) and not as sweet as i've had in other places. there isn't anywhere to sit so be prepared to pick up and go. they have small pre-packed pastries that i didn't try. definitely will be back again read more

The library is closed Mondays and I was looking for a place Downtown to get some work done so I thought I'd check if this place was open (hard to tell from the street). I pulled in where I could find parking, in a sketchy lot off an alley that's hidden from the street, with four different homeless people in various states of undress and the smell of urine. I walked over, only to see they have no seating, which is good I guess because I've already had my car burgled twice in Downtown and I really didn't want to leave it there for long. I get a cup of coffee and it's pretty good. So lets see, no seating, no drive through, poor street visibility, awkward to walk to, and the parking lot feels like a trap. I've been going to Rad Coffee for years (we collect all the glasses and have a plethora of them) and was stoked that they opened one in our backyard but the service at the Riverside location is terrible. The staff is unapproachable and rude. Today they made me an iced latte, although I had ordered a caramel latte and when I pointed out that it was wrong the response wasn't "no worries, let me fix it" it was "and what do you what me to do about it". Confused by the question I responded with "whatever needs to be done to be what I ordered". As the barista grabbed the drink with irritation "so you just want me to put syrup in it!?" she rolled her eyes.... Look, I'm not a barista and I don't pretended to know if their job is stressful or even ask for anything beyond what I paid for but a friendly interaction when I'm getting my coffee to start my day is a huge plus. I shared my concerns with the barista about the way she treated me as a customer. She became argumentative when I explained she's in a service industry and making their mistake right is the appropriate thing to do. I gathered my 3 coffees and began to walk out. The blond barista then chimed in with "Have a day". This is seemingly to many a nice thing to say but when your told "have a day" not "have a nice day" you are actually being told "I don't care if you have nice day". Maybe this post will get attention, maybe people won't care, maybe the two barista that were working will realize they were wrong in their approach with a paying, repeat customer, either way I felt it appropriate to share the dismal experience. Staff will make or break any business so selfishly I want this place to thrive because it's right here in Riverside. As for the coffee, I love it. I hope that the staff gets better training and starts making their customers feel welcome. read more

I've been going to rad since they opened in 2015 ( Upland location) and I absolutely love that location. When I heard they were opening a new one in riverside I was over the moon. I couldn't wait to have it 10 mins away instead of 40 mins without traffic. First few weeks the staff was nice given they were still training and feeling it out. as the months progressed they hired more people and would take a little longer on drinks. The last time I went was about 4 months ago? One of the baristas was being rude after I asked for my recipes and tried blaming me in front of her manager I'm assuming, that I didn't ask for it. I told her, you never offered it so that's why I'm asking for it since I just paid. She rolled her eyes and I kept my cool bc I love Rad. I figured she was having an off day but then when I asked for my Zombie without ice bc I was sick, she literally took a cup and started scooping it out with her hand touching my drink. The other guy told me that the drink comes with ice so they don't fill it all the way and I said okay that's fine I didn't know and she started whispering with the other guy and they just looked at me like if I asked for a handout. She handed me my drinks and I said thank you I appreciate your help, still keeping my cool bc I don't like to be rude and she just glared and said " MHM". Girl you're at work, and you represent the company. Don't be rude to people if it's your own fault your training isn't sticking with you. Sadly I won't ever go back but I'll still go to the other locations when I'm in the area and I'd much rather prefer to drive all the way to Yucaipa for Roast the Dead coffee than to go back. First time for the cold brew from the can was in a hurry just wanted a quick caffein kick for mt rubi . Was pretty bad tasting (black) second time got a black cold brew from a server / barista figured I messed up by getting the can . Tasted the same surprisingly. Third time was the only coffee spot I was close to as I was gonna have a study session at the riverside main library right across the street ... every experience the coffee was equally garbage . I don't mess with Starbucks no more but can say Starbucks cold brew is better . Again want to specify black cold brew not good at all . Cute concept and nice selection of odd drinks and pastries. Really liked the merchandise. My daughter bought me a cute orange mug with the logo for Christmas. I used it once, washed in dishwasher and 70% of logo disappeared. Nowhere did it state on mug hand-wash only or not dishwasher safe. I did call store and spoke with nice employee who said she would have manager call me next day. Needless to say, nobody called me back. I've had rad coffee 3 separate times now and every experience has been wonderful. The staff have all been friendly and helpful. The drinks are a bit on the sweet side but easily modified if you speak with them. Most importantly, the roast is delicious. Deep and smooth! Went in on a Friday afternoon around midday, and there were only about two other customers there at the time. Our order was taken quickly and they gave us some recommendations.
