First time here with a buddy of mine and my initial impressions were this: line was kinda crazy for a weekday. The space inside is cute and has a relaxed ambiance and I appreciate being able to see the food prepped. That said it is very crowded and can't accommodate large parties/ number of people. After waiting in a semi-long line for about like 20/25 mins--we truly expected the service to be okay. Were well prepared or wait 20+ mins again which was a bummer except-- they shocked us! This time I was craving it and again, I got the French toast sandwich (bacon sausage) , but this time the croissant was soggy on the side with raw egg, and I've been gagging at the thought of it all day since... it was so disgusting. This was my first visit to Toasted in Riverside, and unfortunately, I found the experience to be pretty mediocre. I ordered the two eggs and toast breakfast with bacon and potatoes. Although the portions were generous, everything on my plate seemed to taste the same. Nothing really stood out. I was disappointed that sourdough was the only bread option offered. What's even more disappointing is that my friend's sourdough wasn't toasted, despite the restaurant specializing in toasted sourdough bread. I ended up giving her half a slice of mine, and we threw the remaining bread away. My friend also ordered her eggs over medium, but they came out over hard, just like mine, although that's how I wanted mine. The restaurant is quite small, and there was a long line, so I was expecting something a little more impressive. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it certainly wasn't memorable. Finally made my way to try Toasted today. The service was great. The gal at the register was apologetic when she had me wait so she could punch in a phone order. The food and coffee were delicious!!! I ordered a breakfast sandwich (w/bacon), chocolate chip cookie, a plain croissant, and the salted maple latte. Everything was so good! I looooove that avocado is included on the breakfast sandwich! The latte was perfect, not super sweet, great espresso. My only reason for the 4 stars was because of the space itself. There are only a handful of tables. My friends and I decided to take our food to go because there were no tables available. This made me look forward to their new space that'll have more space. Toasted is a lovely little place tucked in a small strip center. It hosts a small number of tables inside. We enjoyed a robust cappuccino and split the Garden Sandwich. This sandwich was super flavorful containing hummus, cucumber, pesto, avocado, and feta cheese. My only criticism is that it was grilled, and therefore the lovely sourdough bread was a bit greasy. Food is all made fresh to order and they have special seasonal hand crafted drinks iced and hot! The food is very fresh and filling, does not look like much ay first but it is the perfect portion. Stopped here on our way from Big bear, food was AMAZING! Sourdough loaf right out of the oven. I had the breakfast sandwich on croissant roll with bacon, egg, cheese and avocado-was to die for. First time here today. My Husband ordered the pesto fried eggs with avocado, subbed the potatoes with tomatoes since he's keto, and a hot americano. I ordered the smokin' bagel with avocado. We were the very first customers inside this morning. The food was delicious and the place has a good, modern vibe. Here's why I'm knocking off a couple stars: -Do not have decaf coffee as an option. I don't drink caffeined drinks but still would like to enjoy a decaf latte for taste. -They didn't bring my Husband's Americano to our table. Mind you we were the very first people in the restaurant before there was any morning rush. Next, we noticed when it actually was busy during the now morning rush, the family sitting behind us had their coffees brought to their table. Either bring all your customers' drinks to their table or have them go get it themselves, across the board. I'm very observant so that was a big thing I noticed. -More keto options would be nice on the menu. Some sort of salad option would be great since they already do have all the ingredients to make a salad on-site. Not sure we will be back based on this experience. Great find. Highly recommend. It was busy!!!! The line was long and the cashier was real busy but always politely gave customers an apology and did her best not to keep people waiting. Chai Latte I would give a 4 stars out of a 5 star. We all got breakfast sandwiches that were good. The sourdough bread deserves a 5/5 but the ingredients to the sandwich is like what you would get any other place but rest assured they bake their own bacon and use fresh eggs out of the shell. Loved this place! The most important thing to note is that this is a self service location with VERY limited seating. Maybe 20 people max inside and 10 more outside standing tables only. Plenty of parking as it's in a complex. A little on the loud side inside especially with the constant line of customers. The menu is very limited but what I got - the croissant French toast - was tasty, not too sweet, and affordable ~$15. My dad got eggs and toast, the only thing I would note is there are no condiments readily available at the location such as ketchup or jam. There bread and pastries are homemade! I ordered a seasonal drink (into the woods?) I dont exactly remember but it had hints of maple. The latte itself was perfectly sweet and a good balance of sweetness and coffee. Food was amazing!!!! Drink deliciously healthy matcha latte...but it was super crowded. Five tables inside and 40 people standing in a "mosh pit" line. No personal space was respected!
