Stumbled into Quotes on a Friday. I was so happy to be visiting a black-owned business! We were warmly greeted by the hostess (thumbs up to her she was so sweet). Ambiance wise this place is superrrrr cute. Definitely some photo ops if you wanted to get cute and snag an IG pic. And they played all the right music. They had a cute setup with the bar pretty centralized and tables scattered throughout. Service was good for the most part, but I wouldn't say it was phenomenal or anything. Food was so yummy and flavorful! The spinach dip here easily makes my top 5 list! Creole catfish I had was fire. French 75s we had were delicious. And the menu options were sooooo wonderful wow I'm mad I didn't have enough time to sample everything. I definitely want to run it back as I type this review haha. Definitely would 100% recommend and will be returning next time I hit up H Town! read more

Quotes was a meh experience. The customer service on the other hand was spectacular. The concept is dope and there are quotes all over the place, as I'm sure y'all can imagine. We ordered the following: -Fried Chicken Sandwich w/Potato Dippers -Mardi Gras Tacos -Order of Potato Dippers -Pineapple Mimosa Carafe Our waitress/server was really helpful and answered all the questions we had. She also said that she loved the Mardi Gras Tacos, however, to order a side of fries because they aren't filling. Well, I beg to differ, the tacos are hella filling! They are filled with fixings and shrimp/crawfish. Chile I was stuffed like a holiday turkey lmaooo...do yall hear me?! I did not need the fries. Did I eat them? Do yall know me? Okay! The tacos were good, not great. I heard the fried chicken sandwich did what it was supposed to do tho. Cool. They are not stingy with the portions either, so we thank yall. The mimosa had more champ and less juice and again, we thank yall. Overall, the experience was nice. Overall about a 3.5 rating. I may return for happy hour if I'm in the area. My friend and I went to quotes this weekend 3/21/26, we wanted a table on the patio but it was full, we asked if we could sit at the bar until a table was available we were told yes but we were never told we had to be on a waiting list. After realizing we were being skipped over, we found out we had to be on the list and did so. Long story short once we were seated on the patio, no one ever came by and acknowledged us, gave us a menu, said hello, be right with you, smiled or anything. It was as if we were not even there, we finally just left. I drove from the other side of town an hour drive to get that kind of service, "pitiful". read more

This was my first time eating at this establishment. But it definitely won't be my last! Our server, ANGEL, was surely a great part of the experience! Not only was her pleasant demeanor and patience phenomenal, but her knowledge of the menu and recommendations for your taste was on point! I had the fried wings, collard greens and oxtail mac and cheese. But seriously, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. read more

I went here during the day for lunch/brunch with my dad & I'm so shocked by the mid rating this place has gotten! Everything from the service to the food & the decor was fabulous! We shared some apps & sides: Oxtail empanadas heavenly Boudin egg rolls drool inducing Jerk Wings Fiya Fiya (no ranch needed) All of our food came out within 10 min and were absolutely delicious.also Hot tip their HH throughout the week is 11am-7pm . The deals aren't as amazing as the food's taste but I think worth it (everything is 12 & up, including drinks& apps) if they had Wifi I would recommend this place for a WFH change of scenery. read more

I feel the atmosphere was really nice and fun. Everyone that either walked by or assisted us had amazing customer service. It was my 12 yr old niece bday and everyone even the customers made her feel super comfortable and told her happy bday. Our waitress name was Erica and she was the best, my 5yr old nephew kept talking to her and she was very accommodating and kept playing and talking with him. The food came out very quickly and it was pretty good. The creole fries and spinach dip was soo good. read more

I traveled to this restaurant from ATL and this was the best food I've had by far in a LONG time . Somebody is definitely in the back cooking with hands AND feet . I had the spinach dip , French Toast with the pecan praline , grits and eggs . My man had the oxtail empanadas with the catfish and grits and we left nothing behind. Not only was the food good the atmosphere was a vibe . The service and ambiance were great but the food is lackluster. I ordered the Bayou City Salmon with the garlic mashed potatoes. Both dishes were overly salty - felt like someone just went to town with the lawry's. I complained about the mashed potatoes but management only offered to replace it with jasmine rice or dirty rice (my dad got this and it was mediocre so I didn't want that replacement). Unimpressed and sadly wont be back to get high blood pressure. read more

Last Sunday we visited Quotes. Service was good, drinks were stiff but my food was just ok. Mostly I say this because the oxtail empanadas were lukewarm but tasty and my jerk lamb chops were missing the jerk. My husband had the fried chicken which I would say was great and the collards were solid. I will return making different selections because I've heard nothing but wonderful things about this place. read more

My birthday celebrations started off at Quotes, it was my first time visiting and they made it such a great kickoff. I love when I walk into places and see other people enjoying themselves. This was a great indicator for things to come. The vibe was so smooth, music played and all over people were smiling and having a great time. The bar area is so beautiful, as well as the rest of the establishment. Indoor and outdoor both look stunning. I had the soul food dinner with chicken wings, collard greens, and dirty rice. Winner winner chicken dinner. I had no idea what to expect, but I know that I'll tell my friends that it was a great time. The oxtail and crawfish quesadillas were also delicious and the entire staff was cheerful and polite. Will definitely be back soon. read more

First time visiting Quotes Willowbrook and it did not disappoint! This restaurant is located at the Willowbrook Mall and there's plenty of parking in the lot. The hostess and servers were really nice and provided great service to me and my friend. Our food was hot, fresh, and delicious! I ordered the shrimp and grits from the lunch menu. One of the best shrimp and grits I've ever had! You get a lot of food for the price. I also ordered a Caribbean rum punch and that was good too. Can't wait to visit again in Houston and will be recommending to others! read more

I've been here 3 times, twice in person and once as a take out meal. The food is delicious and has yet to disappoint. I've had the catfish and grits, salmon (medium well), brussel sprouts, and corn bread. It was delicious. The vibes are on point with a live DJ on the weekends, and the wait staff is gracious and professional. Our meal was delayed once and they offered us a cocktail on the house for the trouble. They also offer hookah if you are into that. Let's keep them in business for many years to come! read more

The food is always on point. However the customer service is lacking. Don't get me wrong. Not to be petty but with such good food they would be a stellar restaurant if they could hire or train staff that was cordial. I'm not sure what the problem is but I've visited 4 times and each time I get the same service. So if you want to support black owned and can tolerate poor customer service this is your spot. read more

The food was good, but it took a little while to come out, despite not being that busy, but the entire experience was worth the wait. The service was wonderful,throughout our time there, several people would stop by to check in on us. They even gave us a champaign toast to celebrate our anniversary. I had heard good and bad opinions about Quotes, but i was impressed overall. Now I realize the time of day and the size of the crowd could change things, but for a weekday evening around 7 pm, things were good. What an awesome experience! The staff were superb. Diamond was friendly and make excellent recommendations! Thank you Diamond for the great customer service! I observed the data and they did their jobs as if they wanted to be there and enjoyed it. The food was delicious! I can't say delicious enough times to express how much I enjoyed it. The oxadilla appetizer was incredible so much so that even my 8 year old liked it. I had the blackened catfish and grits. The sauce on those grits alone will make you slap yo momma! My husband had the waffles and chicken. He "dumbed" it down by taking off the blueberries and strawberries but said it was excellent. I recommend getting it the way it's fixed to get the best of the experience. And lastly my daughter has the French toast. Also dumbed down but they were very flavorful nonetheless. Now to these doggone drinks. The volcano lemon drop. Don't drink on an empty stomach or you will be intoxicated. The margarita was also well worth the cost! I would rate the experience an A++. Not a cheap dining experience but WELL WORTH IT. read more

While trying to survive in the aftermath of a hurricane in Houston, Quotes was recommended by a friend. The layout of the restaurant is crisp and trendy, even including a designated space for pictures. The wait and management staff were kind, friendly, and considerate to our plight. Bartender lacked enthusiasm. He was dry. Maybe he was having a bad day. I couldn't decide what I wanted because I always get the same thing for an entree. Wanted to try something different but I just can't because what if I don't like it. I hate complaining and sending food back. It was my sis in law's birthday and she'd never been here. Everyone else ordered before me, took me a while to decide. I've been here well over 12 times. Ended up ordering my usual. The Southern Platter (3 Fried Chicken Wings, Collard Greens, and Yams). Pineapple Upside Down Crown - 4/5 It was a little too sweet and did not have enough liquor for me, but it was still delicious after I poured an extra shot of Crown in it. Overall, Cutten Kitchen is an upbeat, lively, and soulful establishment that offers some of the best Southern cuisine in the area. The ONLY reason they're getting the two stars is for the cornbread which was an ooey gooey, honey buttery mouthful of happy and would be the only thing I recommend (of what I had) there. I would have sent everything back had I been able to locate our waitress. I don't recommend this place when there are so many others that are way above them in quality, quantity and cost for what you get.
