Second visit to quotes for brunch and the food always hits for me. More than the food, the drinks hit harder lol our server Chrissy (i believe thats her name) was so so sweet and attentive. I will be asking dir her on my next visit.
This was such a great find! I met up with an old friend here and we had a blast! First of all, their happy hour is pretty solid. Discounted drinks and food from 5-7. We took advantage of that! Seven was our server and she is AWESOME! I can't tell you how many times she checked on our table and gave us fantastic suggestions. She needs a raise for her outstanding service. I honestly only want to come back and sit in her section. She made our visit special. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibes are so good here! 90's rnb all day!!! We loved the quotes on the screens and we loved the picture wall setup.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can't say enough great things about Quotes and look forward to coming back. Some of my favorites were the Mango flavored smoky drink, buffalo cauliflower, buffalo lemon peppered wings, and jerk empanadas!
[[HIGHLIGHT]]This was a nice Restaurant and it was very busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant is loud and they have music playing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have some really great cocktails. My only complaint was that it took a very long time to get my food and everything was not hot. Despite that the food was delicious and I would definitely come back. Another stand out dish I had was the oxtail quesadilla. We had a great server who gave us a great run down of the menu and made some good recommendations.
Our food was good as always! Our waitress Janae was really good and nice. I tried the lamb chops were nice and tender. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a little warm in there that night so bring your fans lol[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
The mimosas are always nice! The chicken and waffle sliders were more than generous in size for brunch! I ate that for leftovers the next morning too! I hate that I didn't get a picture of my entree, but those grits were creamy too!
Good vibe, good ambiance, good food! Anytime I've ever gone in here it has always been a good time. They serve a nice Southern comfort menu with modern spins. The name Quotes is on display by the way they have video displays all throughout of quotes by people in the culture. One thing I can definitely say I've never gone here and had bad service. That seems small but it isn't. My most recent visit I went as part of a galentine's party (palentines for me lol) and our main waitress was amazing. She was attentive enough to notice that I was particular about certain things and recommended against one of the items I planned to get. She didn't think it was bad but just that it would not be to my preference. I appreciate that level of honesty and consideration. When you talk Southern comfort you almost can't do that without talking about fried foods and they do that pretty well here. The one asterisk I will say is that one time I went here and the wings were not up to standard flavor wise but every other time they have been on it. I went with the the quotes fish and shrimp platter on my most recent visit, which comes with two sides and a honey butter cornbread waffle. I got the smoked gouda mac & cheese and candied yams for my sides. Everything was really good. The only thing is I feel like the fish could have been seasoned a little bit stronger but great meal overall. Be bayou City pasta was what I initially planned to get but it's the item that she recommended against based on my tastes. I did try some of a friend's pasta with the oxtail option and it was pretty good but I'm not mad that I missed on it. I'm typically a gin drinker but they didn't have a chin cocktail I wanted so I went with the strawberry lone Star lemonade. It was a bit sweet but I also prefer my cocktails on the sweeter side so it was cool. Good drink overall. I had the French Rosé in the past which is a spin on the French 75 with a rose champagne and it was solid. I tried some of my friends dishes as well. I want to say the spinach dip is damn good to me! Like "oh damn I wasn't expecting this" good. And I like the cauliflower garlic bread it's served with. It's really soft so not a dipper but very delicious! The crispy sweet and spicy shrimp are also good but I will say a little bit on the sweeter side. The crispy cauliflower bites are very, very good. Of course prefer chicken wings but as an alternative they slap. The wings and waffles was one of the first things I tried here and I really enjoyed both the wings and the waffles so win-win for me. I'm usually good with just plain waffles but I really liked how they paired with the peach cobbler for waffle options. The waffles are a few small waffles instead of one large waffle but they're still really good and it's kind of a cute look, just not as filling lol. As I said before the wings do exactly what they need to do being crispy and delicious, and only once did they let me down. I've always had the wings served as whole wings but the recent visit a friend was serve separate flats and drums so I'm not sure if they changed to doing pieces on the wings. I have a friend who swears by the lamb chops and I believe I had a taste of them but it was a while back so I don't remember well enough to give my thoughts on them but she loves them. If I'm being honest as I look over the menu writing this review I honestly feel like I need to eat here a lot more often than I do now because when they are hitting they are HITTING! Can't wait for my next excuse to dive into something going in the menu.
Came here for happy hour and it has a lot of potential. The happy hour drinks were all $10 for the specialty cocktails. Different assortments for everyone. The egg rolls were good but I could have used a different sauce maybe... the wings were great. The regular fried chicken was nice and crisp... at first I didn't like the Brussel sprouts but the sauce is at the bottom and that was a came changer. Mac and cheese was ok. But the corn bread waffle thing was the best part. I advise sitting at the bar as the service at the tables around us seemed kind of slow. Short Summary: This experience was a miss for me. -1 remove from 45 minute waiting list, without notice, when sitting at the bar, holding seats. -1. Mojito Virgin smoky strawberry lemon drop. Taste like carbonated water (from spirit soda). Zero flavor, of the two flavors. No mint at all. -1 replace drink with strawberry lemonade or raspberry lemonade and the lemonade is MINUTE MAID brand. Very tart, and zero flavor of the strawberry/raspberry. -1 mango sweet tea. Flavor was off taste like tannins was release from steeping to long and lack of flavor. -1 water taste funny. No lemons came with it as requested. -2 my server informed me that they will not remove my non alcoholic drinks that were very bad taste. Seafood tacos: Flavor 4/5 Texture: 5/5 Temp 3.8/5. First taco lukewarm, other two tacos is cool and cold. I like how the topping was placed on the side beautifully. Crawfish étouffée. 1/5. Flavor is very off, texture was good. Did not eat it. Not tomato taste at all. Idk what flavor that was. Brussels sprouts: Flavor 5/5 Texture 5/5 presentation 5/5 Temperature 2/5 Salmon, crawfish& mash potatoes: 3/5- salt and low temp. Catfish and grits: 4/5 Alcoholic beverages: 8/5 The ladies loved them had ordered multiple of different drinks. Full details: We visit here for a girls brunch on Sunday. It was very full. Waiting list was 45 for a table of three. I arrived before my friends so I got on the waiting list and sat at the bar since it was first come first served. ( since chairs open, I place reserved in the seats just in case they arrived before our waiting time was complete). Full details: waiting list -1 To my surprise I received a notification on my phone saying I was off the waiting list, as groups continued to enter. I immediately spoke to host (I think Jordan) to place me back on the list, And I'll prefer a table with a seat with back rest verses sitting on bar backless stools. He told me he thought we were going to be at the bar since I was a sitting there saving seats. He was very friendly and kind about his message, it was just lack of communication that was a no no. He didn't bother to ask if I still prefer a table. My table was ready now, (less than 45 minutes), which is why he removed me from the waiting list without notice. -2 Drinks Even the ladies at the table tasted it. Taste as if I would have drank that entire glass I would've been sick (sincerely). The GM told me that I was going to be responsible for the drinks I did NOT drink that was Horrid and was removed from the table. Which were $5. (Didn't see a price or inform prior to this point), so to be fair I told them they can replace it with at spirit drink. They return to say they will take it off this time. But you can't order something to try and remove it if you dislike it. This is the moment where my mind was made up to not return to Quotes, until they remove this policy. I will never feel comfortable ordering something that was prepared HORRIBLE and be financially responsible for something I did not consume. I don't even feel comfortable returning and having them feel or speak as if they doing me a favor when the ball was dropped from the company. The birthday dessert was bread pudding since the chocolate cake was complete out. It was packaged for take out. It wasn't that good to my liking. But I'm not a bread pudding girl either. I wouldn't get this again even if it's comp. (Not to mentioned the flies and gnats) If I was to return: I'll might try for Happy hour and the chocolate dessert.
I've always seen this place on the side of Willowbrook mall and never made time to try it out, but I finally got around to it and I wasn't disappointed. My coworkers and I came here for lunch and we all loved it. The food was delicious, the decor was super cute, and the service was on point. I will for sure be visiting again and trying something new on the menu.
Was in the area for a movie premier & decided to try Quotes as I have seen them on IG many times. Arrived about 9pm on a Sunday night and everything was really good. Plenty of parking. Hostess greated us with a smile. The ambience is really nice, not too bright not too dark. Playlist was great, R&B! Nice Bar, tables, booths and cocktails tables. Our waitress Cheyenne was really nice and patient. I ordered the Creole Catfish & my friend ordered Honey Garlic wings. Both were great. Catfish and wings were fried really well. Honey garlic sauce was so good. Dirty rice and creole sauce was just ok. Really enjoyed our visit. I would definitely return to try more dishes and and a drink as the drink menu was extensive.
I gave 4 stars because customer service was great .. food wise 3 stars . I had the catfish and grits ( yummy ) very creamy , crawfish was good but my catfish was a little soft not fried hard but it was still yummy . The pork chop platter was great ( my friend got that ) . She said she really enjoyed it The are for me was my spinach dip . Was a bit pricey for the amount you get a small cup with a bunch chips . It is also more cheese than spinach . The ambiance was nice .. older crowd and I love that cause the 20-25 can get rowdy . Overall I will be coming back to try the soul food tacos . Bartender was great gentleman.

I strolled in Quotes on a Sat noon with the girls and boy did we love the ambiance! They had a dj with tunes right on point and the waitress was A plus! The food is always on point but it did take a little longer to get our food this day. We got pizza, chicken and waffles, ox tail empanadas, burger, loaded fries, lemon drops and a bottle of champagne....all too good! We will def be back! read more

I really wanted to love this place--the vibe is great, the drinks are creative, and it's Black-owned, which I love to support. But overall, my experience was a mix of hits and misses. It was Juneteenth and they were super busy so many things would have been different on a normal day. Drinks: * Passion Fruit Hibiscus Margarita - Solid flavor with a tropical punch; refreshing and pretty. * Virgin Rum Punch & Passionfruit Mojito - Both were well-balanced and full of flavor. A great non-alcoholic option that didn't feel like an afterthought. * Smoking Lemon Drop - Presentation was dope with the smoke effect, but the flavor was just okay. As a lemon drop lover, I expected a brighter, more zesty profile. Strong though! Appetizers: * Fried Cauliflower - 4/5. Batter was a little soggy, but flavor was surprisingly delicious. * Jerk Oxtail Empanadas - 5/5. These were the star of the show. Perfect texture, seasoned to perfection. * Spinach Dip - 4/5. Not bad, just a bit thinner than I'd like. Gave queso energy more than classic dip. * Boudin Eggrolls - 3/5. The concept was there, but the filling didn't quite hit. Could've used more traditional boudin flavor and texture. Entrée: * Soul Food Platter - 3/5. The fried chicken was bomb--crispy, juicy, flavorful. But the Mac & Cheese gave KFC vibes, and the greens were just okay. I expected more from a Southern food spot. My friends ordered: * Fish & Shrimp Platter - They felt it needed to be fried longer for that extra crispiness. * Yams and grits got good feedback, but the Brussels sprouts were dry and not well-seasoned. Overall: Quotes has potential and the atmosphere is definitely a vibe, but the execution on food needs some improvement. The food was amazing my chicken came out hot and very flavorful, the greens were very good, the yams were perfectly cooked and the Mac and cheese were to die for all the food items were 10/10. The French 75 was chefs kiss's it was my first and it didn't disappoint. I also had the chocolate molten cake to me it had an old taste to me that's the only complaint I have. The service was great from the time we walked in to the time we left very accommodating to us and our needs. The ambiance was truly a vibe loved the music selection and they do have televisions as well. Very nice place will definitely go back to try other items on the menu. read more

The service here was wonderful. They checked on us often. Next I had the smothered pork chops. I had mine grilled and it was awesome! I went to Quotes Restaurant today--not my first time, but the vibe felt a little different in a good way. It's a Black-owned spot, and it never disappoints. We started with the mimosa setup--classic orange juice and strawberry. Simple but hit the spot. Then we had the Oxtail Quesadillas. They're listed as an appetizer, but honestly, they're filling enough to be a full meal. I wasn't expecting oxtails in a quesadilla to be that good, but it worked! We had it with a side of creamy mac and cheese, which was a nice touch. We also got the chicken and waffles. I'm usually iffy about that combo because it tends to taste the same everywhere. But here? The waffles were fluffy, and the chicken stole the show--crispy, seasoned perfectly, and full of flavor. Definitely a solid way to spend a Saturday. read more

Last Sunday we visited Quotes. Service was good, drinks were stiff but my food was just ok. Mostly I say this because the oxtail empanadas were lukewarm but tasty and my jerk lamb chops were missing the jerk. My husband had the fried chicken which I would say was great and the collards were solid. I will return making different selections because I've heard nothing but wonderful things about this place. read more

Let me just say this, Quotes is a whole vibe! I visited after a friend recommended it, and now I'm recommending it to y'all. The moment you walk in, the space is giving upscale energy with a splash of personality floral wall, neon lights, moody lighting, and music that sets the tone. Been in the streets tending to business and decided to have lunch at Quotes Willowbrook. Decided to try something other than the delicious hamburger. I ordered the CREOLE CATFISH served on top of a bed of dirty rice and smothered in creole crawfish sauce. -- grilled or fried. Mine was fried. It was different and good. My friend ordered the QUOTES COBB Field Greens, Romaine, Baby Spinach, Smoked Applewood Bacon, Avocado, Egg, Red Onion, Oven-Roa Tomatoes, & Blue Cheese Crumbles with grilled chicken. I have to start by saying this was a great vibe with the waiter we had for blast. The vibe is absolutely incredible in there. People were so polite and everyone was happy and enjoying themselves. He explained the different elegant drinks for ladies but also explained that they have a full bar if we wanted something different. They have an inside and outside dining with fans to cool you even with the wind blowing. Now let's get to the entrees and the prices were very reasonable for both drinks and the meals. We got anywhere from Lamb Chops, Tacos, Oxtail Quesadillas, Hot Wings and so much more. We had 3 of the young ladies that birthday was in the same week which is why we took a girls trip. garding dishes and none of his recommendations disappointed. We celebrated my 16 year old nephew's birthday so it is family friendly. Portions were great. We had the soul food platter which came with fried chicken two sides and a cornbread mini waffle(I chose macaroni and sweet potatoes which were all delicious). The beef empanadas were delicious especially with the secret sauce, the catfish was tasty and the sauce that goes on the catfish was set apart from anything I've tasted. We asked for it on the side but honestly order it like it comes and you'll be happy. We also had the waffle sandwich. It was delicious and huge. This is definitely shareable. The waffle however is sweet like a cake donut. The stuffed crab and shrimp were very meaty and the oysters were all fantastic. I also got an adult beverage but I don't not recommend the drinks.( Try it however) The food is highly recommended. The gumbo was said to be delicious by my sister she added shrimp to hers. We didn't have reservations but were seated quickly. I would definitely return. My nephew also got a birthday dessert. There was a flying bug infestation at this location flies everywhere not sure what was up with that. read more

This place is a must go to for happy hour. Most of their drinks are $10 during happy hour and they have a good selection of their food at a good happy hour price. I've come here several times on the weekends and it's usually busy but during the daytime It's not. The service is quick. read more

My party surmised that visiting a soul food restaurant on a Saturday evening around 7:30 PM might warrant some fair to mediocre service, but Quotes Soul Food Restaurant did not disappoint. Their waitlist technique proved to be quite effective. The time was not long whatsoever. A friend and I met with a young couple who recently married, and we wanted to treat them to dinner. From the appetizers-beverages-entrees the transition in receiving these goods was excellent. Seemed like very shortly after we ordered, everything arrived in a very pleasing, reasonable amount of time. Our waitress was spot on. Everything was absolutely delicious. The drive from The Woodlands was worth it. Wish there could be a few soul food restaurants in TW especially since the area has become quite diverse within the past decade. Our group had the Crispy Sweet and Spicy Shrimp twice as appetizers, Creole Catfish, Quotes Soul Food Platter, and the Wings & Waffles. I was afraid as in some soul food restaurants, the food might turn out to be salty, but that was not the case. Everything was flavorful, not overdone, and tasted to perfection. I am so glad a friend recommended Quotes Restaurant to us. I am giving it a 4 out of 5 stars because indoors was too loud and bustling for us. Don't get me wrong, the music they were playing was great, but loud with a congested like feeling inside. We wanted to have conversation and that would not have taken place indoors; we would not have been able to hear each other talk. We chose outside and was glad we did. As the evening progressed, it got cooler with breezes, so we were very comfortable outside. Did not have to yell to talk. Perhaps the interior is probably different during the day and lunch hours. Had the weather not been advantageous we would not have enjoyed being inside. I will check it out for indoor lunch someday. All in all, Quotes Soul Food Restaurant was great. Found this place on the social media apps. It all looked good so I came to check it out on My birthday. Place was nice on the inside. They got a big bar and with some TV's, plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. We got seated and it took a while before someone came to our table. I pretty much could've recited the whole menu by then. Someone came by and ask if we've been waited on. I'm guessing he was the manager. After that, the service was on point. It wasn't just our server coming by. It was multiple people. Their menu is loaded with some really good stuff. We got boudin egg rolls, and they were delicious. The drink menu got plenty of specialty drinks and they'll do the job pretty well if you need that buzz after a long day. The brunch is all day so I got the Buffalo Lemon Pepper wings and waffles. I've had my share of wings, and these are one of the best I've ever had. The flavors will just leave a hearty explosion in your mouth! Everything here is amazing. This one has been on my list to try for quite some time now. I'm glad I finally was able to stop in. They're serving up some amazing food. Great quality food. They're happy hour on food is probably one of the best and the restaurant industry. You are in for a treat if you stop by here. Food: we had quite the options for food. I let off with the oxtail empanadas. They were absolutely amazing. The beef was so tender and flavorful. Every single bite. The gumbo is probably one of the best gumbo I've had in a long time. It had just the right amount of kick to it. The sausage and shredded chicken was simply amazing. Every single bite was a delight.I tried some of my wings and they were absolutely amazing as well. Crispy and full of flavor for each bite. The shrimp are pretty good, I think they had a little too much batter and seasoning, but they were pretty good. Very nice size fresh shrimp I will give them that. The Boudin eggrolls, however, were amazing. This is an easy five star review and I will be back soon. Customer customer service: the customer service was top-notch. Even though they were busy and there was a little bit of a wait everybody checked on us and made sure our food came out. We waited for quite a while. I will admit that, but it was worth the wait because the food was amazing. TYTI was waitress and she was absolutely amazing. Great personality. Very personable and did a great job. All of the staff is very friendly. The gentlemen picking up all the dishes was friendly. The Cook that brought out my gumbo from New Orleans he was very nice. The staff here is top-notch and they're doing a great job. We will definitely be back here soon. read more

I was in the area with my friends after completing a 5K race and we decided to eat afterwards. We are welcomed by a pleasant staff including a waitress name Angel Who provided great service. I ordered a French Rose drink which is very good and enjoyed the shrimp and catfish platter with two sides. I don't live in this general area but I would recommend stopping by based on the friendly staff as well as spacious and well decorated interior. The bathrooms were also clean as well which is very important in my opinion. read more
Came here on advice from a family friend in the early afternoon. The place was clean, quiet, well decorated, and great ambiance. The server we had was awesome and I can totally see why she was training someone. We were greeted promptly, drinks came fast, she had wonderful suggestions as well. She (cannot remember her name but originally from Michigan) was an amazing server and so sweet to our kids. Now the food was great I had the creole catfish, we got some oxtail empanadas, chicken with the 24k gold sauce, and my wife got the grilled cheese with all sorts of seafood goodness. My friends and I tried this place for dinner in April. Parking was not a problem, because the restaurant is located at Willowbrook Mall. Therefore ample amount of parking is available. We made reservations for 8:30pm and did not have to wait to be seated. We sat outside on the patio where they had a fire pit and propane heaters being used because it was chilly. The music was great. R&B and some Hip Hop was played all night. The crowd was giving grown and sexy this evening. Once seated it took a while for a waiter to approach the table. About 10-15 min passed before being greeted and asked what we'd like to drink. We placed our drink orders and that took quite a while too. A long wait time for our food as well. I suggest packing a lot of patience when visiting this restaurant. Our waitress was good and attentive. The manager also made sure to check on guests frequently throughout the night. I ordered a drink called the swirl. The liquor in the drink mix was not good and I would not recommend it. My friends enjoyed their drinks, but I cannot remember what they ordered. I ordered the Quotes Captain's Platter. It came with a large piece of catfish, 4 jumbo shrimp, and two sides. I ordered greens and mac & cheese for my sides. The greens were seasoned very well and the mac & cheese were creamy and delicious. One friend had the catfish and grits and enjoyed her meal. The other friend had the oxtail mac & cheese as her entree and the Boudain egg-rolls for an appetizer. She loved her meal and I can second that because she let me try some of her food. We were so full we opted out of dessert. If you enjoy hookah they do have a vendor that provides hookah for a fee. Overall I like this place and would visit again. I did not like how slow the service was, but the food and ambiance were great. I heard on Sundays it is really fun and a lot of people do their Sunday Fundays at Quotes.
