Went to have Mother's Day dinner last night with family. The ambiance and service were awesome but the food was not good. Order 2 big sizes of lobster pasta dishes and they were very small portions and they were both soggy with no taste. Overall all the pasta dishes were like that. The restaurant was outdoor and had a nice view of the ocean. They checked for our vaccines and the check in process was easy. They also acknowledged that we were celebrating 2 birthdays which was nice. We went for breakfast at 10:30. It was not too crowded and we had lots of space to ourselves. The food was good but definitely pricey for regular breakfast food. We liked the loco moco, braised short ribs and French toast best. The eggs Benedict was not bad also. We didn't care for the croque madame - it was too saucy and cheesy for our taste. Service was ok - not as attentive as you'd expect for a restaurant in the Ritz Carlton. There seemed to be multiple servers attending to our table instead of one consistent server. Things overall took longer than expected. Although they knew we were celebrating birthdays, I had to approach the servers at the end of the meal and ask if they offer anything for birthdays. They kindly provided a scoop of gelato ice cream. They didn't get the flavor correct initially and brought out lemon instead of coffee. Lastly, we bought a $100 gift card and it took forever for them to process both the check and the gift card. When they finally returned, I was ready to leave since at that point we had already been there for almost 2 hours. We picked up our car from the valet and drove down the street when I realized that they didn't give me the current gift card promotion - $20 worth of bonus gift certificates. I called them, drove back, and had to wait another 5-10 minutes for the person to go to another floor to get the bonus gift certificates. I would highly recommend to the restaurant that if you're having a promo, the gift cards and bonus certificates should be ready to go, easily accessible and quickly processed. Also, the customer should not have to be the one to request the bonus certificates. Oh well...overall it was an ok experience. Probably would not return due to the price and the average customer service. Hopefully they will improve in their efficiency and customer service. I think that would help make customers feel a little better about the prices and make the visit well worth it. In a place saturated with beauty such as in Waikiki, the view from the deck of Quiora brings a refreshing feeling in a familiar city. This combination creates a comfortable ambiance. My first time there it felt as if I was eating dinner at my long time friends house for the first time. The excitement of being on the outdoor deck accompanied by the city sounds, pairs quite nicely with the sense of home comfort that oozes out of each of the staff members, not to mention a cuisine that seems like it was created by my friend's Nona. You would be wise to experience what I was lucky to last night. I ordered the Caprese salad and it came with fried mozzarella sticks and a tomato jam so delicious I wanted to just eat spoon fulls of that. Amazing breakfast at Quoira! The Ritz always does things right, but I'm still amazed by their attention to detail. I asked if they had almond milk for coffee. Although they usually only have oat milk, they went above and said they'd make it happen. I have no idea if they were squeezing the almonds in the back, but they made it happen. A++ service. They were also able to easily accommodate my gluten free and dairy free needs. I ordered the egg white frittata, which they prepared without the cheese. They also happily looked out for potential cross contamination (Celiac's) when preparing my meal overall. The food was the perfect temperature, coffee and water were re-filled promptly, and the servers checked in with us regularly (but not too much and in a very polite manner) to see if we needed anything else. I'd go back. Everything was just really good. We started with Prawns Calabrese. The shrimps were fat, perfectly cooked and the white wine based sauce was so delicious. The dish came with 6 pieces which was perfect for the two of us. They make their own pasta so we sampled 3 pasta dishes. The pork rigatoni, porcina pappardelle and the lobster ravioli. They're not small plates or large so I'd say splitting 3 dishes between the two of us was the perfect amount of food. Our favorite was probably the lobster ravioli. The dish came with 3 thick, thick meaning filled with meat not thick skinned raviolis. The rigatoni was so perfectly cooked. The papardelle had a nice creamy sauce with the perfect textured pasta. We were so impressed. The drinks were also delicious. We were pleasantly surprised to find such a great Italian restaurant here in Waikiki. Definitely coming back here again. read more

Kenny was our waiter and he delivered superb service! Their food was excellent and I love how they support the community by purchasing locally. Everyone is really nice and professional here, but not over the top. The restaurant is all outdoors (at least it was when we dined there), which is perfect for Covid dining. We were staying at the Ritz Carlton Residence for a week and we gladly at breakfast every morning at Quiora. We (along with several other folks) were there bright and early to be seated first. Admittedly I ordered the croque madame with a side of chili sauce every day. I mean it's loaded with carbs but man oh man the bread was so good and the cream sauce. Lord, my mouth is watering. Our whole family loves everything ordered specific to their taste. The regular coffee is plenty delicious but we ordered the French press a couple of times just to be extra -haha. Many mornings our view had rainbows or double rainbows to gaze at. The staff is incredibly friendly. You definitely feel the aloha spirit. The whole board was oil. The same thing with the mushroom porcini. It was as if it was an oil broth and the oil wasn't even fresh. The pappardelle noodles were a strange consistency. Not audante but rubbery yet mushy. Same with the pork pappardelle. In addition, the cheese burger was salty and even oily! How is that possible? A restaurant is measured not only by their food, service and atmosphere, but also how they handle tough situations. I booked a special dinner at Quiora's for my fiancé's birthday during COVID-19 in November. Many restaurants have felt the effects of the pandemic, and Quiora is not immune to the struggle that the rest of the hospitality world is feeling as they had to tighten up their cleaning standards, under strict government guidelines, with a smaller staff, all while providing great food and service. I will admit, our night did not start out on the right foot, but in the end our server and the manager made it a special evening. We had reservations, but when we arrived we were asked to wait. The wait turned into 30+ minutes. Not a good start. As we were seated, we were so hungry. Our server, who was AMAZING and so well trained (the hallmark of a great restaurant) provided us menus and we were quick to order food and cocktails. The drinks came out quick and were DEEEEELIGHTFUL. I went with a whiskey base, while the lady chose tequila. You can't go wrong with either. As the the night progressed, you could tell from our vantage that the restaurant was definitely running short-handed while also trying to maintain distancing standards, and also service what amounted to a full-restaurant in accordance with government guidelines. There were slip ups here and there with napkins and silverware missing even after our food arrived, but really it wasn't a big deal. Everyone working was so apologetic and helpful, you couldn't even get upset. The food was made promptly and delivered hot, and was amazing as well. Some of the best Italian we've had on island. The garlic shrimp is a true winner, but my fiancé was raving about the mushroom tagliatelle pasta. As our dinner was winding down, the manager stopped by, and sensing something was amiss, asked how every dinner was going for us. We told her, although some mild miscues, the night was swell. Well, swell was not good enough for her. She talked to us and was so sympathetic to us celebrating our dinner at their restaurant and it not being absolutely perfect. She proceeded to comp a dessert and our drinks. What a gesture! What an establishment!! Only at the Ritz!!! We left full and happy, knowing that our server and the manager (Mindy) took great care of us. The following morning, I get a call. Who can it be? It's Mindy, following up and apologizing for not making our experience a WOW EXPERIENCE, as she put it. She said our conversation weighed on her that night and she decided to comp our entire meal! I was shocked! She truly went above and beyond for us, and then went a step further, as she sent us a gift card to come eat at Quiora again. During times like the one we're all currently living in, people like Mindy, and establishments like Quiora, show how important service and building lasting relationships really is for any business. Her act of kindness made us guests for life and we will happily continue to patron Quiora's for as long as they're taking reservations. Everyone was respectful with masks and cleaning procedures and just so kind. The food was amazing and the view was beautiful. I celebrated my 30th birthday here last week while on vacation. The ambiance, views, food, and service were just delightful. We sat outside in order to be relatively covid safe. Everyone seemed to be sanitizing and following mask protocols appropriately. Word to the wise, the restaurant is located in the Ritz Carlton Residences. You need to take the elevator from the entrance to the 8th floor, which will be marked Lobby when you get off (that confused us initially). There are plenty of staff around to ask for directions if you get lost. We started with a friendly greeting from the host who inquired about dietary restrictions. It was nice having the server know about my dairy allergy before he even came to the table. I ordered a bottle of wine for us to share and inquired about the menu. We ended up going with the garlic prawns with chili oil as an appetizer. They were hot and melt in your mouth delicious! The prawns themselves came from Kauai and the grilled sourdough bread was baked in house. The flavors came together perfectly. My boyfriend had the carbonara and I went with the spaghetti all'amatriciana, minus the grated cheese on top. We both absolutely loved our choices! The sauce on mine was mildly sweet balanced by the salty cured pork and a hint of heat from the chili. We each went with the smaller sized portion as opposed to the large and were glad we did. Good pasta should be consumed when it's freshly made, and given the generous size of the appetizer it was the perfect meal for someone with a normal appetite. We headed back to our resort thoroughly satisfied with the evening. Thank you Quiora for making my 30th birthday dinner so lovely! We will certainly be back next time we're in town. read more

12 months ago I dined at Q with friends and had an exquisite meal. Tonight, I was unfortunately underwhelmed with the food and service. Apart from Joe, the sommelier, who recommended a wonderful Sangiovese, the remainder of the Evening was just not up to the RItz Carlton standard. We ordered the kale salad, spaghetti carbonara and a side of the grilled broccolini. The salad was fresh, and the sweetness of the raisins offset the light acidity of the kale. It was a fine dish but not something I would choose to order again. Last time when we ordered the carbonara there was a table side preparation with the breaking of a soft egg which was then tossed through the pasta and formed part of the sauce. Tonight there was no table side egg preparation. We were told that the egg was prepared in the "sauce". Unfortunately the pasta was served almost dry and a little under cooked. There was no sauce and my wife me too Ed this is something we could have prepared at home. We were disappointed and did not finish the dish. When asked if we were enjoying the meal we mentioned this to server who,without an apology, mentioned she would let the chef know.... We did not hear from the chef or the manager. The broccolini was prepared reasonable well, it was well grilled tasty but the tomato purée it was served over was slight over salted. The serving size was on the small side. The service lacked the coordination we received 12 months ago. Last time all facets of the service operated smoothly and we felt well taken care of even with a trainee. This time it lacked the personal touch. At one stage we had three offers to poor more wine within about seven minutes by two different servers..... we were left scratching our heads. It was my first time dining at Quiora so I was very enthusiastic as the special evening approached Friday evening I arrived a little bit early so I may watch the Hawaiian Sunset . Greeted by a friendly Gentleman as you arrive at the Ritz Carlton and he calls the Express elevator for you . As I walked towards Quiora there are beautiful photo opportunities along the way . Greet by Lovely Hosts I was seated right away even though I was a little early for my reservation that evening . Beautifully designed Restaurant with a wonderful ambiance . Travis was my Server and so personable and much Aloha Spirit . Travis was very knowledgeable on the menu and offered many suggestions . He even shared with me his knowledge on how Quiora was created and visualized . I ordered the Calabrian Garlic shrimp with was so flavorful and with a hint of spice in the sauce it came along with toasted bread bites . Next was the Caesar Salad delicious as well with dressing on the side . My main dish was the mushroom pappardelle which I paired with Delicious Sauvignon blanc from New Zealand . Thank you Mindy and Michelle for heading such an amazing Team at Quiora . Everyone showed grace and true aloha spirit to make my evening so memorable . So glad we finally checked this place out. Excellent dinner. Make reservations on Open Table. Valet parking is complementary while dining, up to 4 hours, but because Waikiki has very few tourists during the pandemic, we just parked on the street. As many have mentioned, it's an open air, outside restaurant. The breezes are perfect to keep you comfortable while dining. The menu is small/limited, so we decided to family style everything and try a bunch of different items. We started with the polpette (pork meatballs) and the burrata...both highly recommended. We also shared the pork pappardelle, porchetta and a side of the Mac & cheese. I can't say anything bad about any of the food we tried. Service was as expected when dining at a Ritz Carlton. As a former employee, I applaud the attention to detail and anticipation of guests needs. There was a phenomenal team effort the evening we dined, from the server, bartender, food runner, server assistants and even the host. While it is pricy, it's well worth it.
