Normally I would wait until I had tried a variety of things on the menu before writing a review, but the menu for this tiny kiosk is only a few items, and my one visit covered almost a third of what was offered. Quick Thai is located in a kiosk at the Waikele Outlets. It is close to the main seating area, and has three stools and a counter of its own as well. The kitchen is a two burner camp stove and a bar sized fridge, and the smiling woman who takes your order is also the cook. I sampled the red curry with chicken along with the summer rolls. I also ordered a Thai tea to cut the spice. I discovered quickly that there wasn't as much spice as I would have liked, but I enjoyed the tea just the same. The curry was tasty. A nice medium heat, and filled with eggplant and bamboo slices. I was so pleased to see that the chicken was all white meat slices, but then sad to discover that they had been cooked just a touch too long. I have a feeling that it is one of the reasons so many restaurants here use mostly dark meat- much harder to overcook. I'll try the shrimp next time, especially as there seems to be no extra charge for shrimp. The summer rolls were a perfect blend of flavors. Exactly the right amount of noodle vs. greens, and not stuffed to the point of bursting. These will bring me back, as they are a great lunch on a hot day. All in all, I'd say that Quick Thai is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I look forward to visiting again soon. read more

Probably one of the worst Thai places I've ever experienced. After many hours of shopping, my family and I were starving. The second I saw the Pad Thai Chicken picture on the front of the small structure, I knew I was sold. My mother ordered the Cashew Chicken. Her words to describe the cashew chicken are "mushy and flavorless and not in any way thai food." We waited 15 minutes for the food (not really quick for Quick Thai). The pictures advertising the dishes posted on the building are not true to size or what it actually looks like. I took one look at my pad thai chicken (BTW the picture is with shrimp but the wording is chicken? wtf?) and I was completely unimpressed. I lifted my noodles with my fork and the entire container of noodles lifted all together. I flipped all the noodles with one flip!! I decided to take one bite which one bite really was all that I needed. It was dry, flavorless, all the noodles clumped together, old, and with no heat (spice). I immediately took the pad thai back to the structure and complained. After, hearing of my mother's dissatisfaction with her cashew chicken, I was really just hoping for a refund so that I could patronize the Chinese place next door. They immediately said "No refunds". I found out that the pad thai is the only one premade. She said she maid it 15 min ago...it was luke warm. Fortunately, I was offered a different choice. I chose the Red chicken curry which was a lot better, hot, fresh, flavorful, and had some heat. It still was not true to the size on the pictures. Also, while waiting for my red curry chicken to be made (I stood nearby to ensure nothing disastrous happened like spitting in my food as I had complained). I over heard the 2 girls complaining. Saying things like " That's not even our pictures up there. It belongs to the management. This happens every week. I'm so tired of making this over. When are they gonna change the pictures?" My first time here and I figured if there's a line, must be good eats! NO doubt the Panang Curry was yummy! Fresh Long Green Beans, slithers of Carrots and tons of Chicken Breasts, together w/thick pieces of white onions, favored in coconut milk & a variety of spices..OMG it was absolute delicious!!! Came with 2-scoops of RICE, but the RICE wasn't even cook! "yuck" ...that's just unacceptable ~ how do u eat curry with NO starch..I managed to just suck it up and eat without any starch. I did not plan to return the plate only because I was already back at work. I don't think I will visit this place again, First & Only experience. Meh. This place is okay. I love Thai food and Waikele is lacking in eateries so this is usually where I go when I'm shopping and hungry. Otherwise I would rather wait to eat somewhere else. The Cashew chicken or Tom Yum soup are your safest bets. The most disappointing thing to me though is NO STICKY RICE! Sacrilege. You can't eat Thai food without sticky rice!!! I work in the mall and this is one of my go to places. I like their pad thai, garlic shrimp, chicken stir fry & red curry! Sometimes the rice is very mushy and my coworkers have said this as well. They could work on their customer service. They aren't the friendliest bunch. But considering the other options in the mall & they work outside in their hut, they get a 4 star! read more

If I was Thai, my mama would cook the kind of food I get from Quick Thai. Nestled in Waikele Shopping Center behind the Coach outlet store, this little booth has 6-7 dishes on their main menu, boasting meals such as papaya salad with shrimp and a delicious cashew chicken. On this rainy, melancholy day, however, I was aching for some red curry to warm me up and keep me company. Is the curry authentic? I couldn't tell you. Is it delicious and overwhelmingly satisfying? Absolutely. It's got fresh vegetables swimming in a pool of red-orange curry that's sweet with coconut and contains enough kick to keep you interested, but not burn your tongue off. For a little extra, you can ask for sticky rice which is always a treat. I didn't get the sticky rice, but for less than $10, I got a red curry plate (~$6) and a sensational thai tea ($2) that tingled my tongue, keeping it cool and refreshed. It's a great combination of sweet and spice that I think you might enjoy. Service has always been on par and friendly. I love the Asian woman that cooks and serves me there. In a tiny space, she's able to serve up food fast and well prepared. Part of the fun of sitting at their booths is to see how they can maneuver in a box that's tinier than a Manhattan studio. Came here for food a couple weeks ago as I was Christmas shopping. I came on a Monday. The pregnant girl in the front was extremely sweet but the cook? (I'm assuming she was the boss) was bossing around this poor pregnant girl making her do all kinds of bending and doing extra things AMD SHES PREGNANT. Btw this kiosk is very very small. & Very unacceptable to be treating your pregnant worker like this. I ended up not buying, but I did come back later in the day to get a Thai tea which was delicious and the boss/cook was gone. I asked the pregnant girl where she was and she said that she had left and should be back shortly. But when I continued shopping I seen this lady shopping. So this pregnant girl is at work ALONE now. Best days to eat here isTuesday through Saturday. Sunday/Monday is a different cook. I am basing my stars off of the cashew chicken as its the only thing I eat here. I'm not a big Thai food fan and don't eat seafood. My co- workers, who do like Thai food and do eat seafood have the same opinion in regards to not eating there on sun/mon. This is my favorite Thai spot. Our family eats here at least once a week. The ladies who run the place are super sweet. They know us so well that one day when their card reader was broken they let my husband take food and pay them for it on our next visit. Super nice! It doesn't even make sense how good their curry is. Everything is cooked fresh to order. You can watch the chef mixing curry spices with a mortar and pestle. A mortar and pestle? At the outlet mall? Crazy! Food never takes more than 10 minutes, 15 if they are SUPER busy. We usually get curry but we've also had the cashew chicken which is, again, ridiculously good. Pros: DELICIOUS! This has been my go to place for my lunch break and the ladies there are so nice. I always order long rice salad with shrimp. The salad is really good it seriously got me hooked for a while. Cute little kiosk in the middle of the court area near the Coach Outlet. Super fast and friendly service. Truly "Quick" Thai food. They have just a small number of the most popular Thai dishes such as Basil Chicken, Summer Rolls, Panang Curry and Tom Yum Soup. The aroma coming outta this little place started to make my stomach growl from hunger. Today I ordered the Pad Thai. It must be a really popular dish because there were already several containers ready to serve. I got my order right away and walked to my car because it was really crowded in the courtyard and there wasn't any seating. So I open it up when I get to my car, snap my Yelp pic and took in a mouthful. It was really good. A little on the sweet side, but I didn't mind that because it was still very tasty. It was garnished with bean sprouts but no chopped peanuts. I wish they gave more of the sprouts because it went so well with the Pad Thai. I thought it was worth the $9. There's a small counter top to the side with three stools so I sat down with someone who made an order before me. That person got theres, and I watched through the back as the only lady on duty was working quickly to make my order. When I got it, she was about to wrap it up. I told her I was gonna eat there. I suppose most people just take it with them. There was plenty of rice. The curry I ordered had plenty of veggies and I found them to taste fresh, which was nice and refreshing especially the bamboo. I ordered my curry with chicken because I didn't feel like having it with shrimp. I wonder if the price goes up depending on what you order it with. All in all it was okay. I saw the curry separate into oil a bit as I ate, but I was pretty hungry so it didn't bother me. It was mild-medium... so it could use a lot more spiciness for me, but it was alright on its own.
